04:45a fantastic location it turned out to be the car loo which is amazing it's an art deco building and I've
04:55heard of it so many times but I've never been and we sit down there's a piano on the stage hi guys
05:05welcome to the historic car loo Iman asked you to hit a creative high note I would like to introduce to
05:13you Canada's foremost soprano opera star your muse Misha Bruegger-Gossmann
05:20I was in another place it is so beautiful it really it was inspiring as I was listening to her I was trying
05:48to create a dress to create a dress in my mind hearing Misha sing it was very inspiring it's just very lovely to hear that sound in front of you
05:58it was just goosebumps throughout the whole thing it was amazing
06:09it was amazing
06:16it was amazing
06:19I got goosebumps that's good
06:20I do too
06:26for your next challenge designers you will be creating a gown for Misha to wear on her upcoming tour North America
06:31Challenge designers, you will be creating a gown for Misha to wear on her upcoming tour of North America.
06:39Misha?
06:41Well, it's important, first of all, that the gown be good from all directions.
06:46And, you know, some of the halls I sing in are 2,000, 3,000 seats,
06:49and you want it to be as good up close as it is 3,000 seats away.
06:53So feel free to use strong color.
06:57She ended up going into extreme detail to the point where I'm a little bit scared
07:00that the dresses are all going to look the same in the end.
07:03How do you feel about some sort of a train?
07:05Trains are great, yeah.
07:08This kind of challenge is, like, more up my alley.
07:10I've worked with a couture designer in Vancouver for two years,
07:14so I've had quite a bit of experience doing evening gowns.
07:19How do you feel about showing your back?
07:20I feel good about it, as long as I have the right held in.
07:25If that's your vision for me, then it'll be right.
07:28But I am hard to please.
07:30I never wear shoes, ever.
07:32So I don't want people staring at my feet,
07:35so it's important that the gown go to the ground,
07:37but that there's enough of a kick in front of me
07:38so that I don't trip on the front of the dress.
07:41That's very important.
07:42Lucien, I can't believe you don't have a question.
07:44I'm sure you do.
07:45I'm just mesmerized by her.
07:46I just...
07:47Aww.
07:48It's so beautiful.
07:50Designers, the next time you see Misha,
07:52we'll be on the runway.
07:53I love the challenge.
08:00This is serious.
08:00This is real fashion.
08:02It's history in the making, basically.
08:04Designers, you have 30 minutes to sketch.
08:06Your time starts now.
08:11It's supposed to be a really grand ball gown.
08:13I like dresses with a lot of fullness at the back
08:16and big bustles at their bum.
08:18So it's going along that line.
08:21I'm going an extreme, sexy, fuchsia, detailed silk
08:27with a long train.
08:29She'll look like a bird, almost like a songbird,
08:31but much better.
08:35When I was up getting judged the last time,
08:37they said I hid behind two really strong designers.
08:40Like, I'm not strong on my own.
08:41So with the next challenge, I want to prove to people
08:43that I can stand on my own two feet.
08:46Okay, designers, it's time to close your books.
08:48Let's go.
08:55You will have 45 minutes and $150 to spend.
08:59Get busy.
09:02It takes some creativity to make a splashy gown with $150.
09:09Let me see the width.
09:10Oh, my God.
09:1145 inches wide.
09:12Okay, give me nine.
09:14Give me nine.
09:14That's it.
09:15Immediately, everyone went darting
09:17for the brightest brights that they could find.
09:20I'd like to see other things happening here.
09:22Give me some more of this stuff.
09:25This one's safer.
09:26You know what?
09:27I'm going with this.
09:28I went with a fuchsia color
09:30because she's the same skin color as myself,
09:33and so it just kind of matched it to me,
09:34and I think it'll look beautiful.
09:36Just six yards.
09:37Six yards of this.
09:38Maybe eight.
09:40Come on, make up your mind.
09:41Six or eight.
09:44At this, I just need one yard.
09:45How many dresses are there in this color today?
09:48How much is it still for the answer?
09:4915 and up.
09:50Too much, too much.
09:52I went straight to the taffeta.
09:53I need a lot of fabric,
09:55and I'm a bit scared that it's not going to be enough,
09:57but I'll work with what I have.
09:58What do you think about this fullness?
10:00You guys have got seven minutes left.
10:02One yard, please.
10:03Fast, fast, fast.
10:05It was, like, down to a minute,
10:06and I just, like, threw some purple raw silk on the table,
10:08and I was just like, fine,
10:09give me, like, five yards of that
10:10and some gold sequiny stuff.
10:13Look in here.
10:13It's time to stop shopping.
10:20Thanks a lot.
10:21Goodbye.
10:22Good luck.
10:24Next, on Project Runway Canada.
10:27Someone's going to fall today.
10:28Could be a little bit more sparkly.
10:31Come on.
10:32It has to go on.
10:34So close.
10:36F***.
10:43Don't give me boring dresses, designers.
10:46I want you to pull out every stop that you've gone.
10:48You will have two days to complete this challenge.
10:52They cannot miss her from the back of the room in that color.
10:55That's what I was thinking.
10:57She wanted to be noticed.
10:59We had a privilege to meet the Misha Brugger-Gossman,
11:01and the challenge was for us to make a gown for her tour
11:06in North America, so I'm very excited about that.
11:09This is the best challenge ever.
11:12I am so going to bat this one out of the park.
11:16Misha was very, very clear with what she wanted.
11:21She performed spare feet.
11:22She had a lot of details,
11:23and she also told us she's hard to please.
11:25Ay, carrajo.
11:27Ay, ay, ay.
11:32Who wears dresses to the ground anyways?
11:36Whenever anybody wants one,
11:37I try to talk them out of it.
11:39Building a gown to the ground,
11:41out-of-silk fabrics we're using,
11:43and the detail that's expected,
11:45and the corseted bodice,
11:46and it's not a first-year fashion student project.
11:49It's just not easy.
11:51You're going to like it?
11:52I hate it.
11:55The most difficult thing is probably just, like,
11:58to design for somebody else
12:00who's got, like, specific needs.
12:02I don't think it's really me
12:05to do, like, a really beautiful, like, evening gown.
12:09When you're designing something,
12:21it's just like a painting.
12:23You layer on top of other layers,
12:25and that's how you build, you know, a portrait.
12:27And I think the more artistic and creative fashion designers
12:36use this technique
12:37because the other ones, they're just producing.
12:42Lucien.
12:43Lucien.
12:44Lucien.
12:46I just think Lucien is a one-man show.
12:50How is your ball gown coming along?
12:52Ball gown?
12:53My opera gown?
12:54Yeah, your opera gown.
12:56Fan-fucking-tastic.
12:59He's my biggest competitor in this competition, I think.
13:02How's your dress coming?
13:03Fan-fucking-tastic, too.
13:14I don't have enough fabric to do my gather idea.
13:17It won't work.
13:18But I mean, it's like...
13:20Oh, that's nice.
13:21No, not that.
13:22Oh, I like that, too, though.
13:23I haven't done evening gowns in a while.
13:25My head is all in, like, casual sportswear stuff right now.
13:29So I don't know what to do.
13:33When Iman looked at Megan
13:36and told her that she thinks that she got away
13:39with hiding behind two other good designers,
13:42I was satisfied that she said that.
13:44Let's just see how much longer she's gonna last.
13:47I don't know what to do.
13:49I think it's gonna suck.
13:51She's got a giant horseshoe lodged up her ass right next to the rabbit with all four feet intact.
13:59I really think it's time to say goodbye to Megan.
14:05I don't think she's even gonna finish a dress.
14:08She's gonna finish it.
14:09It's just gonna be really simple.
14:10She's just gonna have to cry.
14:12She can't do it for the third time in a row.
14:15Do what? Cry?
14:16Cry.
14:17Like, have a fit how she wants to leave.
14:18You know what I mean?
14:21It's too early.
14:22She's still got a whole day to cry.
14:23Yeah.
14:24Oh, it's gonna be a long day tomorrow regardless.
14:27It's stressful.
14:35There's a lot riding on this.
14:38You wanna please the judges, but more so you wanna please Misha,
14:41because I think she is really gonna be the deciding factor.
14:46When you get the chance to do something so grand,
14:50especially for an opera singer, it's a treat.
14:53Good morning, everybody.
14:57Good morning.
14:59Carly.
15:00How'd you find that fabric to work with?
15:02Oh, it's all hand done.
15:04So you can fix that?
15:05Well, I'm gonna be on top of you and you won't really see it.
15:07I won't see this.
15:08I won't see, like, that pucker happening.
15:10You might see the pucker.
15:11I want the best quality out of you,
15:13because I know you're capable of doing it, all right?
15:15You've got time to fix that right now.
15:18Brian insulted my sewing job.
15:20He said that one boob didn't match the other one,
15:21which is true, but I didn't care to do anything.
15:23I didn't care to do anything about it.
15:24Fix this up.
15:26I want impeccable workmanship out there, okay?
15:29Okay.
15:29You are about the consummate craftsman.
15:32Okay.
15:37Kendra?
15:38Hi.
15:38Should I come and bug you right now?
15:39No.
15:41Why not?
15:42I'm coming.
15:43The top layer drapes shorter,
15:46the middle layer drapes a little.
15:47So it's three-tiered in the bottom.
15:49I don't like that idea.
15:50I love this.
15:51Yes.
15:52That's too much.
15:53That's too much?
15:54So maybe one?
15:55Give it lots.
15:56Maybe try it, Kendra.
15:57I'm always trying to get you to open up to try different things
16:00when you've got time right now.
16:01Yeah.
16:02Brian said he shouldn't like mine,
16:04which was fine with me.
16:06He helped me figure out which way to cut the trains at the back,
16:11but now that it's fixed, it should be fine.
16:14I'm going to do a little train, not too much,
16:18but just to see, you know, that it's kind of on the floor
16:21when she walks and turns a little bit, you know, not too much.
16:25Are you excited about this?
16:26It's okay.
16:27Does it wow you?
16:30No?
16:31No, not that much.
16:32It's not my cup of...
16:33Do you like evening work?
16:35Well...
16:36Kind of.
16:38You know what?
16:39If I was doing this,
16:40it would be like I would be right over the top.
16:42Yeah.
16:43It's not really my cup of tea.
16:45So I tried to keep this
16:46and make something still my style.
16:50I've now styled myself officially with pins like 20 times today.
16:54It's not my day.
16:56Even though it started out as something
17:00we were all really hyped and excited for,
17:02as time went on,
17:04I found that a lot of the other designers
17:06were having trouble with their execution.
17:09We were just pretty stressed out.
17:12Do you still have a lot of things to do?
17:15I have an entire dress to make, man.
17:20I'm such an idiot.
17:26All right, guys, let's go.
17:52I'm a little scared.
17:54This morning, I'm quite nervous.
17:56I have a lot of handwork still to do.
17:58Okay, giving myself an hour and a half.
18:00I'm just a little anxious about elimination today.
18:03I want the dress to look beautiful on the runway.
18:14MG, you're putting a line in underneath?
18:16Yeah.
18:17I was really hoping to see her skin.
18:19MG's dress looks a little old-fashioned.
18:21A lot of details.
18:22She put a lot of work into it,
18:23but I wish I was confident about approaching her
18:26and saying,
18:27do you really like this dress?
18:29I don't think she wants to be that sexy either.
18:33She wants to be sexy, but...
18:35You're designing for almost like a customer.
18:37I know one of the requirements for the dresses
18:41was that it be long enough to cover Misha's feet.
18:46And I didn't want to let on to her that I knew that
18:49because I didn't want to freak MG out.
18:51And I didn't want to, you know, put any worry in her head.
18:54My dress is actually shorter at the front.
18:57I know she wanted floor length or whatever,
18:59but I mean, on her, it's going to be floor length.
19:01Even if it's a little bit shorter for the runway,
19:04you know, it doesn't matter
19:05because you can always, like, make it, like, longer
19:08if she wants a dress like that.
19:09I mean, that's a little bit like whatever, you know.
19:16Good morning, everybody.
19:17Morning.
19:18Good morning.
19:20Mademoiselle.
19:21Mademoiselle.
19:22Did you do that?
19:23Yeah.
19:24Inspired by art deco, I love.
19:26That's true to you.
19:27What's this?
19:29Oh, a bustier because she wants a bustier on the knee.
19:32Is it going to come straight across like that
19:33or are you going to show the cleavage?
19:35I think it's going to go straight across.
19:37I think that she's a woman
19:40and she's on stage
19:42and opera singers, if they have cleavage,
19:45it's a virtuoso gown,
19:47so it could be a little bit more sparkly.
19:52Megan, how's it going for you?
19:54Is it beautiful?
19:55No.
19:56I was going to just drape this whole thing over,
19:58but then it looked really heavy.
20:00I'm thinking of just doing, like, a smaller cowl.
20:03Mm-hmm.
20:03And then the skirt's going to cover this.
20:05Have you got the skirt done?
20:06The skirt's in one piece.
20:08It just needs the underskirt.
20:09Good.
20:10I would work on getting this somewhat together.
20:12The underskirt's easy.
20:13You know that.
20:14But it's the outside of your garment,
20:16the finishing, the pressing,
20:17that's really going to make the difference.
20:18Okay, Megan?
20:19Yeah.
20:20Send the models in, please.
20:22Designers, I'm going to fix your garments
20:23and have some fun.
20:28Yay!
20:29It zips, it zips, it zips.
20:31Oh, my gosh.
20:32I'm surprised myself.
20:36Megan?
20:37Yeah?
20:37There's a problem with the model.
20:39Crap.
20:40Joelle, we've been calling her.
20:42We don't know what's going on.
20:43We called the agency.
20:45I don't have a model.
20:46No.
20:47Lauren can be here in an hour.
20:50Okay.
20:51I'm just trying to get the damn dress done.
20:54Okay.
20:54But get it on somebody
20:55before the model gets here, right?
20:57Yeah.
20:57So talk to somebody
20:58and see if they can fit it for you.
21:00Steven, you want to try on my dress?
21:03I have no model.
21:05I'll try it on for you.
21:06Yeah, I need you just to fit this bustier part.
21:09And you're bigger through the chest, right?
21:11Yeah.
21:12By, like, a lot?
21:13Not so much.
21:14Okay, that's cool.
21:16Thank you so much.
21:18Joelle is not the favorite model anymore.
21:20She's fired.
21:27Okay, let's see you walk again.
21:29The training's okay.
21:30You can walk with it.
21:31I love it.
21:32Okay, hit it, girl.
21:34Why is your hand on your hip there?
21:36She's holding out the dress
21:37because I cut it really long.
21:38Do not ever, ever, ever
21:41hold a garment on the runway.
21:43If the model has to hold it
21:44or make it stay in its spot,
21:45it just looks stupid.
21:46Okay.
21:47We're chopping it.
21:48Okay.
21:49You're chopping.
21:50Yeah.
21:51Kendra, what's this?
21:53I know.
21:54I have to fix all that now.
21:56Well, get busy.
21:57You need to tack that in there.
21:58There.
21:58Get rid of this puckering.
21:59This needs to be perfection.
22:01Perfection.
22:01Yeah.
22:02It's long.
22:05And Brian just said,
22:06never hold a dress on the runway.
22:08It's long.
22:09I don't want to end this right now.
22:13I don't want to end this right now.
22:13Don't blink an eye if you trip.
22:15Someone's going to fall today.
22:17Everyone, Eric and Eddie are waiting
22:19upstairs in the L'Oreal Paris beauty room.
22:23You have until 12 o'clock.
22:24How are you doing?
22:28Good.
22:29So, this is the color of her dress.
22:31Oh, wow.
22:31I was thinking for her hair,
22:33something side-swept, classic and simple.
22:37And the same with the makeup.
22:39Pretty, beautiful.
22:40This is my dress.
22:46Beautiful.
22:47For the hair, I wanted it up
22:49because the dress had a lot of neck detailing
22:51and then have interweaving similar to, like,
22:54some of the design on my dress.
22:55So, I wanted to incorporate that.
22:57Something smoky for the eyes,
23:00but not too dark.
23:01I don't know, like, highlight, something sparkly.
23:07It's completely ridiculous.
23:08So close to not having drama today.
23:11No model yet.
23:14No.
23:15Which is fantastic.
23:20Are you getting any extra time for this?
23:23No.
23:24Megan.
23:25Yeah.
23:26Hi.
23:26Joelle's out of the competition.
23:28We spent two hours trying to get a hold of her.
23:30You have?
23:32Hi, Megan.
23:32Lauren.
23:32Hi.
23:33Okay.
23:34All right?
23:34So, get her into it.
23:35Let's go.
23:36This doesn't fit.
23:37I mean, I have a really big problem.
23:38Oh, no.
23:41This isn't going to fit you.
23:43Put it a little lower.
23:44It fits through here.
23:46It's not very fair, I think.
23:50Fashion's not always fair.
23:52Stuff like that happens all the time before a show.
23:55To me, and it will happen to you.
23:56So, yeah, my dress is turquoise, and the makeup.
24:04And the makeup.
24:05I want it bright.
24:06Give your eyes fresh look.
24:08It's amazing illuminator.
24:09Maybe you can have a little bit of bluish, if you want, or even green.
24:13I will use showy here.
24:15I'm going to go with a hairstyle, a little bit like the 20s style.
24:19I would like some waves as well.
24:23Trey, I need you now.
24:24Trey, I know.
24:24So, it's supposed to be better.
24:27Pardonne-moi.
24:28Oh, God.
24:31Perfect.
24:35Just take a deep breath.
24:40It's jacked up.
24:41I was in a rush, so this is on the back of her.
24:44The zipper's on the inside of her.
24:46Oh, okay.
24:46I'm going to have to squeeze you, my dear.
24:47All right, no problem.
24:48Three minutes.
24:49Get it together.
24:50Let's go.
24:51Stuck.
24:52Squeeze it.
24:52Come on.
24:53Come on.
24:55It has to go on.
24:56It's so close.
24:58F***.
24:59That's as far as it's going to go.
25:01Now it's time to play Let's Hide the Open Zipper.
25:05Jules down now.
25:06Follow me to the runway.
25:07Let's go, designers, right now.
25:11Next, on Project Runway Canada.
25:17This dress is a clear miss.
25:20Some people will be like, what was she thinking?
25:23The one thing that Simply She asked for is her signature,
25:27and you ignored that.
25:36Hello, designers.
25:37Hello.
25:38Your challenge was to create a gown
25:41worthy of a world-class opera star.
25:45You had two days
25:47and a big budget of $150.
25:51Now let's welcome our judges again.
25:54From El Canada,
25:56Eritrea-in-Chief Rita Sylvan.
25:58From Bustle Clothing,
26:00Sean Hewson.
26:01And, of course, your muse and today's guest judge,
26:06Canadian treasure,
26:08Misha Bruger-Gossman.
26:11Misha has gracefully agreed to wear the winning gown
26:14on her North American tour.
26:16Misha Bruger- It's time to start the show.
26:25When I saw my model walk out,
26:27I just was like, phew, from not going home.
26:29She just stomped it,
26:30and I just loved watching her.
26:32The body was gorgeous.
26:33The detail on the body
26:34is f***ing impeccable.
26:35I loved it.
26:36I felt really good
26:42seeing my model on the runway.
26:44It looked very flattering.
26:49It really showed off my skills in couture,
26:53so I was happy about it.
27:00I thought she was the hottest one
27:03out of all of them.
27:04I was so proud with what I've seen.
27:06It was just impeccable.
27:11I have not seen something more beautiful
27:13for a long time.
27:20My model was awesome.
27:22It was sort of karma
27:23that I ended up getting her
27:24because she looked great in the dress.
27:27There were little things
27:29that weren't perfect
27:29that I could see
27:30that I was worried
27:31that I was going to get called out on,
27:32but in all,
27:33like it looked like an elegant dress,
27:35and I liked it.
27:39I was just beaming
27:41because she looked like a goddess.
27:44Just perfection.
27:47The color I chose,
27:49the style I chose,
27:50I did it because I knew
27:51it would be beautiful on her
27:53as well as Misha.
27:54I just went for another cut,
28:02then I played with it.
28:03I hope they're going to see
28:04the details I put into it.
28:09I made it more like classical,
28:11more classic than the other dresses anyway.
28:13I was just like clenching my teeth
28:22when she came out.
28:23The dress itself was quite long,
28:25so it was making me nervous.
28:26I was just holding my breath,
28:27praying that she wouldn't fall.
28:30But she did look beautiful.
28:32The color was beautiful.
28:33The skirt flowed beautifully.
28:34I was very pleased
28:35with the finished look.
28:43I thought my dress fit her pretty amazing,
28:47and I hope the judges got
28:49that it was meant to be
28:50an operatic dress,
28:51something that an opera singer
28:53with such a big voice
28:54could carry off.
28:55We have judged
29:18and scored your designs.
29:21If I say your name,
29:22please step forward.
29:25Good job.
29:34Stephen.
29:39Stephen,
29:40this was some of your best work yet.
29:44You're both safe for this challenge.
29:47You may leave the runway.
29:55The rest of you are the ones
29:57who scored the highest
29:58and the lowest.
30:00Let's bring out your models.
30:11Kendra,
30:12please tell us about your dress.
30:14I chose the chiffon
30:16because it was one
30:17of the flowy's fabrics,
30:18and that's the first kind of fabric
30:20that I thought of
30:21when she described
30:21how she likes the movement
30:23on the floor
30:23because she likes to sing bare feet.
30:26I accentuated her waist
30:28and her bust line
30:29and gave her a strapless neckline.
30:30I thought it was beautiful.
30:32I love the color.
30:33I do love the fabric.
30:34I think it's a problem, though,
30:37because it's not dramatic enough.
30:38The details are gorgeous,
30:40but they're very subtle.
30:42It's way too long.
30:43I can hear the muted sound
30:45of the model stepping on the fabric.
30:48So I know that I would never wear it
30:51because I would be thinking
30:52whether or not I was going to make it
30:54to my mark
30:54without tripping all over myself.
30:56Well, I thought that you could always, like,
30:57pick it up,
30:58and it's dramatic.
30:58It falls,
30:59and it has the pool around your feet.
31:01No, it's, it's...
31:02The whole idea
31:03is to be able to walk out on stage
31:05without anybody ever having
31:06to have to look at me bending down
31:08to pick something up.
31:09You definitely don't want to think
31:11about the dress.
31:12You want the dress to speak for itself
31:13and so she can concentrate
31:15on what she's doing.
31:15Doing, exactly.
31:17I'm not asking for people
31:18to say,
31:20how vanilla.
31:23I want people to think,
31:24that's where my money went.
31:26From 2,000 people away,
31:28is that dress going to be a stunner?
31:29Is it going to have a great silhouette?
31:32Probably not.
31:36Carly,
31:37what were you thinking
31:38when you designed this?
31:39What stuck with me
31:40is that you wanted it
31:40to look good from the front,
31:42the back,
31:43and so I also did it on the side, too,
31:45so it's dramatic in all senses.
31:47And you also said
31:47that you like backless.
31:49Well, there's backless,
31:50and then there's backless
31:51with a bit of rib.
31:53No one can see my ribs.
31:55My husband hasn't seen my ribs
31:56since we met.
31:58That is a true diva.
32:00I am just saying
32:01that I am not willing
32:03to put that much back fat
32:05on display.
32:06Okay.
32:07I think that's a beautiful dress.
32:09I love the detail.
32:10For Iman.
32:11I love the neckline.
32:12Iman, you'd look gorgeous in that.
32:13You should put it on.
32:13Yeah, I would look gorgeous,
32:14but for a woman of color,
32:16and I was on stage,
32:18that would disappear.
32:20I'm moving on to Lucien.
32:22When we first met
32:23and I heard her voice,
32:24I was just so mesmerized by it.
32:26And I was closing my eyes
32:27and I was picturing the color
32:28that would look fantastic on stage.
32:31And I don't know why
32:32fire came to my mind.
32:33I used a bit of a texture
32:34on the bottom
32:35because I thought
32:36it's really beautiful to,
32:37you know,
32:37when you walk on stage
32:38and the kick of the dress,
32:39it would flow beautifully.
32:40I love the Lucifer dress thing
32:43going on.
32:44And the makeup.
32:44The makeup is beautiful.
32:45The styling is perfect for it.
32:47The detailing is superb.
32:49When I saw the dress,
32:50I thought,
32:51here he goes again.
32:53Busy scissors, Lucien.
32:54But the fact is,
32:55this has to look dramatic
32:57from far away.
32:58And that's exactly
32:59how that dress would read
33:00from the back of an auditorium.
33:02I do love the fire.
33:04I do.
33:05I do.
33:06I also like that there's
33:08a fullness to the skirt
33:09which will help hide my feet.
33:11That's a dress I would wear.
33:15Marie Genevieve.
33:16I didn't want to go
33:17for something really,
33:18really tight,
33:19but, you know,
33:20like still like floaty as well.
33:22And I've been inspired
33:22a little bit by piano bar,
33:25a little bit 20s.
33:27What did I say
33:28about the feet?
33:30What did I say?
33:30Oh, yeah.
33:31I know.
33:32I know.
33:32I mean, seriously,
33:33I'm not quite sure
33:34what about
33:35I don't want my feet
33:37to show
33:38that you didn't understand.
33:39I never wear shoes,
33:41ever.
33:42So I don't want people
33:43staring at my feet.
33:44And so it's important
33:45that the gown
33:45go to the ground.
33:46That's very important.
33:48I mean,
33:48it's a simple instruction.
33:50Yeah.
33:50No, I know.
33:51Put pants on her.
33:52So why did you do that
33:53if that was
33:54her specific instruction?
33:57Oh, I don't know.
33:59I just,
33:59I didn't have enough
34:00like material, I guess.
34:02This dress is a clear myth
34:05on so many levels.
34:06It doesn't say Carnegie Hall.
34:08You know,
34:09the fit is poor,
34:10the color is okay,
34:11but overall,
34:12extremely ho-hum.
34:14I find it disrespectful.
34:15It's that the one thing
34:16that simply she asked for
34:18is her signature
34:19that she sings
34:21on bare feet
34:22and she wanted
34:22to have feet covered
34:23and you ignored that.
34:26I'm not used
34:26to design for really
34:28like evening wear
34:29like satin.
34:31Saying you're not
34:32strong in evening wear
34:33is no excuse
34:34for not listening.
34:35Mm-hmm.
34:36No excuse.
34:37Yeah.
34:39Okay.
34:40Megan.
34:42Um,
34:43I saw when we
34:45had met Misha
34:45she was wearing
34:46like all this
34:46really nice gold jewelry
34:47and it just set
34:48her skin tone off.
34:49She wanted something
34:50that would draw
34:51attention to her face
34:52so I thought gold
34:53around her face
34:54would be really elegant
34:54and I like the shape
34:56of a mermaid
34:56because it gives you,
34:57you have great curves
34:58and a nice like
34:58hourglass
34:59and it sort of
35:00fishtails out.
35:00This is really
35:01one of my favorite
35:03dresses.
35:04Yeah,
35:04I love the color.
35:06I love the fabric.
35:07I also love
35:08that at the bottom
35:09you get a lot of volume
35:10without having to
35:11use a lot of length.
35:13I think the neck
35:14is amazing.
35:14I think you did
35:15a great job up there.
35:16It's dramatic.
35:17It looks great
35:18from close.
35:19I'm sure it would
35:19look great
35:20from far away.
35:20You also obviously
35:22listened to what
35:22Misha was saying
35:23about walking
35:24in the dress.
35:24It moved
35:25almost on its own.
35:27Well, Megan,
35:28I think you really
35:28rose to the occasion
35:29with this dress.
35:30It is a showstopper.
35:31It looks good
35:32when the model is still.
35:33She looked wonderful
35:34walking down the runway
35:35in it.
35:36You cannot go wrong
35:37with this dress.
35:38The tailoring
35:38is impressive.
35:39Congratulations.
35:40Well done.
35:42Let's move on
35:43to Charnette.
35:44Because of what you do,
35:46I wanted it to be
35:46operatic and also
35:48elegant at the same time.
35:50I wanted it to read
35:51dramatic from the front
35:52and also dramatic
35:53from the back.
35:54You know what?
35:54I love the color.
35:56I love the material
35:57on the bodice.
35:58The problem with this dress
35:59is that it's extremely
36:00polarizing.
36:01Some people will be like,
36:02wow!
36:03And some people
36:04will be like,
36:05what was she thinking?
36:07So I don't want people
36:10to make a judgment
36:12before I've even
36:13opened my mouth.
36:14You know,
36:15it looks really sloppy
36:16on the top.
36:17The fit looks sloppy to me.
36:19This dress is not subtle.
36:21It's overspiced.
36:22It's like, you know,
36:23it's overdone.
36:24And with drama,
36:25it's nice when there's
36:26a, you know,
36:27like a counterpoint.
36:28There's something
36:28that's dramatic
36:29in one corner
36:30and something that's
36:31pulled back.
36:31And here,
36:32everything is out.
36:34So in the end,
36:35it actually ends up
36:36being less dramatic
36:37overall.
36:38Restrain, restrain,
36:39restrain.
36:40Less is more.
36:41There's a fine line
36:42that you have to walk
36:42with making something
36:44universally beautiful
36:45but also original
36:46because you don't want
36:47it to be vanilla
36:48like dress number one.
36:52You've given us
36:53a lot to think about.
36:56You can leave the runway
36:57as we decide
36:58who wins
36:59and loses
37:00this challenge.
37:03So,
37:07what did we think
37:09of Carly?
37:09This was a perfectly
37:10elegant,
37:11beautiful dress,
37:13simple,
37:13classic,
37:14but not a showstopper,
37:16too subtle for you.
37:17People of a certain
37:18body type
37:19have to stick together.
37:20And it felt like
37:21she had an opportunity
37:23to do right by me
37:24and she let me down.
37:26No one who says
37:27they like a little back
37:28would wear like
37:29all back
37:30all the time.
37:31Well,
37:31she said she was
37:32okay with backless
37:33and then I do
37:34a backless dress
37:35and she said
37:35I would never
37:35wear that dress.
37:37Marie Genevieve.
37:38Well,
37:39I mean,
37:39she's had a bit
37:40of problem
37:40listening,
37:41I think.
37:42I mean,
37:42that's crazy.
37:43That was a very
37:44important thing
37:45to Misha.
37:45I mean,
37:45she's going to
37:46walk out there
37:46in that dress
37:47with her feet
37:47showing.
37:48I mean,
37:48I just...
37:48She just missed
37:49every aspect of it.
37:52Every aspect of it.
37:53Bad length,
37:54bad fit,
37:55bad tailoring,
37:56bad color,
37:57bad silhouette.
37:59Bad attitude.
38:00Bad attitude.
38:03Let's talk about
38:04Lucien.
38:05Rita.
38:06I'm going to get
38:07Rita this time.
38:08I always like his work.
38:09Yes.
38:09I really do.
38:10I think he's
38:11very talented.
38:11I think he's
38:12a real virtuoso.
38:13And this dress
38:14was very interesting,
38:15I thought.
38:16I loved, you know,
38:16the fiery aspect of it.
38:18I thought it moved
38:19very well.
38:20I love the fullness
38:21of the skirt.
38:22I love the length.
38:23I love the train.
38:24It's the longest train
38:25on the runway,
38:26and, you know,
38:26I'm going to go for that.
38:29I was surprised
38:30with Kendra.
38:31Kendra was such a
38:32really good structure
38:34designer.
38:35She gave in so fast.
38:37She didn't do a good job.
38:38Maybe that's the reason.
38:39Well, I think she did
38:39a good job
38:40for a different challenge.
38:42But it was boring.
38:43That's, for me,
38:43I'm just kind of
38:44like looking at it
38:45and it's like
38:45she could just wear
38:46a tube top
38:46and go out.
38:47She kept saying,
38:48she said three times
38:49it was vanilla.
38:50It's so not vanilla,
38:51it's Pepto-Bismol, bitch.
38:54Megan.
38:55You loved Megan.
38:57I would love
38:58Megan's dress to work.
39:00The neckline,
39:01that was original.
39:02I thought she really
39:03thought that through.
39:04And a longer train
39:05at the back.
39:06Longer train.
39:06Misha needs it longer
39:07at the back.
39:08Bigger fishtail.
39:08Charnette.
39:13At least she created
39:15a dramatic silhouette
39:16which reads dramatic
39:18from 30, 40 rows back.
39:21Charnette was one of the few
39:21who did that.
39:22But I think the execution
39:24just wasn't there.
39:25And if I wore this dress
39:26in a concert hall,
39:28people would leave the concert
39:30talking about the dress.
39:31And that isn't what I want.
39:33Absolutely.
39:33We've got our decision.
39:38Let's bring them back in.
39:45Well,
39:46this was a drama
39:47fit for a diva.
39:52But for every hit,
39:55there was a mess.
40:00One of you
40:00has won this challenge.
40:03And one of you
40:04unfortunately
40:04will be out.
40:11As you know,
40:13sometimes in fashion,
40:14you just don't measure up.
40:18One of you
40:19has won this challenge.
40:21And one of you
40:22unfortunately
40:22will be out.
40:27Lucien
40:27and Megan.
40:30It was a very tough call
40:31between the two of you
40:32as a winner.
40:33Congratulations.
40:41Megan.
40:44Wow.
40:46I just really appreciated
40:47you seeing me
40:49the way that I hoped
40:50that I would look
40:51on stage someday.
40:53Thanks.
40:55You can leave the runway.
40:57I won.
40:58Congratulations.
40:59It's a booth for you, Hale.
40:59You needed this.
41:00Oh, my God.
41:01I think a lot of people
41:01were probably pissed off
41:02that I won.
41:03I think I deserved it.
41:03I made a really understated,
41:03glamorous dress
41:04that happened to look great.
41:05and the client liked it.
41:20Luchin, you came in second.
41:24That's good enough.
41:24You can leave the runway.
41:25I love you.
41:26I love you.
41:26I love you, Hale.
41:27I thought it was beautiful.

41:32I love you, Hale.
41:32I love you, Hale.
41:33I thought it was beautiful.
41:35Charnette, you're still in.
41:40You can leave the runway.
41:47Charnette.
41:48Told ya.
41:50Told ya.
41:53Carly, your dress was for the runway
41:58and not for Misha's figure.
42:02However, the gowns from your two fellow designers
42:06have saved you.
42:08You may leave the runway.
42:12I know Misha didn't like it,
42:14but I would love to make you one.
42:16Yeah, next challenge.
42:18See you later.
42:19Oh, baby.
42:20Oh, baby.
42:21Oh, baby.
42:22Kendra.
42:24An Oprah gown is for you, Hale.
42:32Needs to make a statement.
42:33And the only thing your gown said,
42:36as Misha put it,
42:38Vanilla.
42:39Vanilla.
42:46Marie-Genevier, your dress was a disaster from head to toe.
42:57The gown wasn't just wrong.
42:59Mm-hmm.
43:00I found that it was insulting.
43:03Because you did not listen to what the client specifically asked
43:08about the length of the dress.
43:10The client is always right.
43:23Kendra.
43:24You're still in.
43:26You may leave the runway.
43:29I'm sorry, guys.
43:30Don't be.
43:31Don't be.
43:32Congratulations.
43:33Marie-Genevier, you just didn't measure up.
43:40Thank you so much.
43:41Ciao.
43:43Goodbye.
43:45All right.
43:47Bye.
43:48All right.
43:49No, don't cry.
43:50It's fun.
43:51I kind of knew I was going to be eliminated, like, soon,
43:52because they don't get my style, and that's fine as well.
43:53Sweetheart.
43:55You're my hero.
43:56You know that.
43:57I've got my own style, and, you know, if they don't like it,
43:58they don't like it.
43:59You know, there's nothing I can do about it.
44:00You know, there's nothing I can do about it.

44:46here. Next time on Project Runway Canada. You've all gotten to know each other very well by now.
44:55Who would you say it's your opposite? Pick somebody. I have to be strategic about it
45:00because I'm like, who would I want to work with? And now the two of you are partners.
45:07She kept going around the room until everyone had a partner except me. Don't think we left you out.
