00:00Previously on Project Runway Canada, for this challenge you're about to have an adventure.
00:08You're going camping!
00:11This is a team challenge. However, there will be one more team competing.
00:20Yay! You're back!
00:23You will create two looks using the materials in these kits.
00:27Love it. Love it, love it, love it, love it.
00:32I think you guys have done a really, really good job on this.
00:35The construction was the worst part of the outfit.
00:38We have two winning teams.
00:41Sunny and Jessica, and Jason and Janviev.
00:46Welcome back to the competition.
00:48Other Jack, Kim, in this challenge, you just didn't measure up.

01:51Hemlines will fly!
01:52The lines will fly.
02:03Time for the show designers.
02:11Because fashion isn't always pretty.
02:22I would like the Jessica Biffy brand to be in the same place as the Alexander McQueen brand.
02:35I want people to want it and just like spend a lot of money on it.
02:40I really love what I do and I'm really passionate about this.
02:43But instead of making one suit for $2,000 each month, I'd like to make one and then sell thousands of them across the world.
02:50I'm just trying to do my thing and stay focused and win.
02:56It's important for me to win Project One Way.
02:59I need this. I want this.
03:01Because I really want to open up my own store and this is the greatest way ever to make it happen.
03:07Hey guys, let's go, eh?
03:08Let's go, eh?
03:09The other three designers are going to have to fight for the other two positions because I'm going to make the final three.
03:20Hello designers. Hello.
03:21This is it. The challenge that will decide which three of you will show collections at Fashion Week.
03:37Let's bring out the remaining models.
03:39The model paired with the winning designer will appear in your collection and will get a cover and a feature spread in Elle Canada magazine.
03:51Now, since all of you won the last challenge, we'll have to draw names.
03:58Jessica.
03:59I would like to work with Alyssa again.
04:04Sunny.
04:05I'm going to stick with Tori.
04:07Jean-Vievre.
04:08I'm going to stick with Stephanie.
04:09Since we lost two designers in the last challenge, two models will also be out.
04:13Jason, who would you like to work with?
04:26You guys did really great, but I definitely have to stick with Ashley.
04:30Sorry girls. That means you're out.
04:34Bye.
04:35Thank you guys.
04:36Bye.
04:36Thank you, guys.
04:41Now, designers, are you ready for your next challenge?
04:44Yes.
04:45Women have been breaking glass ceilings for years.
04:49Yet the fashion for female executives often leaves us wanting more.
04:55In this challenge, you will apply your design signature to business wear.
05:03Business wear is not really my forte.
05:06That gets me a little bit scared.
05:09Business wear?
05:10That's a tricky one.
05:13Tailored suiting is a very tough challenge.
05:17And we do want to be very impressed.
05:20I'll see you back on the runway.
05:22Ciao.
05:24That's hard fun for me.
05:25Designers, this is a two-day challenge.
05:36You've got $225 and 30 minutes to shop starting now.
05:43Two days is not a lot of time to do a full tailored outfit, but it's a great chance for me to show a totally different side of Genevieve Graham.
05:56So I'm making an interesting sort of modern 1930s art deco blazer and a pencil skirt.
06:05It'll definitely look like Genevieve Graham, but an executive version.
06:09I feel pressure to continue to do well, to maintain my standards, but I've never made a suit before.
06:19I don't know what I'm doing, but just grab a bunch of fabric.
06:22That might be cute.
06:26Thanks a lot.
06:31I'm wondering what Jason's going to do with the pink fabric with white polka dots.
06:37I'm excited to do a suit.
06:38I actually have something in my back pocket that I'm not even saying yet out loud.
06:43I just hope they can't hear what's going on inside my head.
06:47Thank you, Rocklin.
06:50Bye.
06:52I really want this suit to be a little bit unconventional.
07:13I think everybody's going to go with the regular suit jacket, and I don't want to.
07:22Like my camel toe.
07:27When I didn't have a duty, I used to try on my own stuff, because I have models' measurements for some reason.
07:35You do realize that you have boy parts, and that your model doesn't.
07:40I want to make my business wear very feminine.
07:53Women are sexy.
07:55Yes, they're in the work environment, so they can't be, you know, hanging out with their boobs everywhere.
07:59But, I mean, I want to make it a little bit more sexy.
08:04I've got this sleeve now.
08:07Yuck.
08:07You know, suits aren't necessarily my thing, but I'm not worried about it.
08:14My eye for proportion and scale is on, as it always is.
08:17It's going to be a phenomenal design.
08:19It's just a matter of plugging away at the pattern making.
08:21I'm a self-taught designer, and my parents were supportive of me being a fashion designer now.
08:32My mom, experienced seamstress, done everything regarding sewing.
08:37When I'm designing, I always hear my mom's voice.
08:39Make sure it's perfect.
08:41So, that type of pressure sticks around in the back of my mind.
08:45That's my thing.
08:46Like, I really want to win this.
08:47I started my line called Vok about four years ago, which, you know, made me broke.
08:53This would be the perfect opportunity for me to be able to continue the line on a large scale.
09:00What did I accomplish today?
09:01A top.
09:04Didn't you make a jacket already, though?
09:06A sock?
09:07Yeah, NES pants.
09:08Whatever.
09:08I'm not using that jacket.
09:10Why not?
09:10Because I don't like it.
09:12Whatever.
09:16Jesus.
09:17What's up with the hatin'?
09:19There's a lot of animosity because Sonny's so good and kind of the guy to be.
09:23I think I'd be kind of worried about being, like, the favorite going into this, though.
09:27You know, what goes up must come down.
09:28You know, I'd rather be more like an underdog.
09:30See what happens.
09:31I'm gonna get crazy.
09:32That's pretty.
09:34It's all right.
09:37Hater.
09:39Drinking some Haterade.
09:40Haterade.
09:41What's your jacket like?
09:51I'm not doing over the shoulder.
09:52I'm doing, like, say, like a strapless dress.
09:56Jason is taking a sort of gimmicky approach with his design.
09:59For me, it is fashion.
10:02The gimmick should be in the craftsmanship, not a spectacle.
10:05Next, on Project Runway Canada.
10:13Designers?
10:14I'm a little concerned, but we've brought in some help.
10:17Oh, no.
10:19Oh, my God.
10:21What the hell?
10:22These are sick shoes.
10:36I love these.
10:39You think I should do a collar?
10:41Well, it's up to you.
10:42Traditionally, a tailored suit has a collar.
10:44This challenge is the last one before the top three.
10:47So, this is about workmanship, because a tailored suit is nothing but the ultimate test of your skills.
10:54This is the big one.
10:55How are you, Jason?
10:57I need to fit.
10:58I can't really go any further.
11:01What are you?
11:01Are you done?
11:03Yeah.
11:05You know what?
11:05I miss Kim so much, but without her, I finished everything yesterday.
11:10I love you, Kim, but I don't know.
11:12I think I was just hanging out too much.
11:13I don't think the designers left or surprised that the work I can do in, like, suiting, I think I proved that last challenge.
11:22What's up?
11:23Drafting some pants.
11:24Some pantalones.
11:25Some pantalones.
11:26I haven't drafted anything in forever.
11:29The only reason I haven't been doing anything with fashion since I got out of school is, you know, school debt.
11:33I have the love.
11:34I have the passion.
11:35I just, you need the finances to be able to do that.
11:37And I don't really want to live in a wicked cardboard box in an alley somewhere.
11:41I'm sure it would be pimped out, but shelter is a very important thing right now.
11:47I love making pants.
11:49Getting to make something for Fashion Week is great.
11:52The sky's the limit.
11:53You can just do whatever you want to do for that, and it's a huge opportunity.
11:59Good morning, designers.
12:00Good morning, bro.
12:01Thought I'd just pop by and see how the power suits are coming.
12:04Jessica, how's it going?
12:05Good.
12:06I think I have some issues with the sleeve.
12:08I feel like there's not enough room here.
12:10No, there isn't.
12:11Yeah.
12:11Jackets kind of scare me, so.
12:13Really?
12:14Yeah.
12:15Sleeves and pants are not my friends.
12:17You want one of the three top positions.
12:19So you chose a little bit outside your comfort zone and went,
12:23Sleeves and pants?
12:23They're not my friends.
12:25No, they're not.
12:25Well, make them.
12:27I like how you work with waist, and I like how you work with necklines.
12:31I'm not over the top excited about the waist or the neckline here.
12:34Okay.
12:35Okay?
12:35So, play around with that a little bit.
12:38Okay.
12:39What's up, you have?
12:40I wanted to play a little on the 1930s Art Deco, so I want really crisp, clean, sharp lines.
12:46Would that limit how you wear it, what you wear it with?
12:52Take half an hour, look at your design idea, and then go back, okay?
12:56You have to provide a power suit that is inspiring to women to take them to the next level.
13:01Give great design that everybody will love.
13:04Is that what you want to do?
13:05Of course that's what I want to do.
13:07What am I saying to you?
13:08Just to sit back and look at it, and maybe not be as self-indulgent as I can be, and think
13:14more about getting into Fashion Week, because that's number one.
13:18Brian's definitely been pushing me.
13:19I've been resisting a little, because I'm a bit stubborn.
13:23Now it's time to just focus on the prize and get to the top three.
13:30Hi, Sonny.
13:31Hey, Brian.
13:33What's wrong?
13:34I finally decided on what I was going to do.
13:36Finally?
13:36Yeah.
13:37I was sort of battling whether I should make it sexy and wild, but then it's a power suit,
13:42so you have to sort of remember where it's going to be worn.
13:45Sonny, you're really sounding like you've tamed it down.
13:47I finished my top.
13:49Well, it's a really pretty top.
13:50It's not new, but it's really pretty.
13:51Yeah.
13:52We don't need just another boring suit.
13:55Yes, I know.
13:55Don't you hold back.
13:57You go ahead and do what is in here design-wise, never because you're fantastic at that, and
14:03you really need to, like, bring this up to a level that is something different.
14:07I'm expecting an amazing suit from you.
14:12Jason Myers.
14:13How's it going?
14:23There's no shoulders.
14:25Well, that's pretty much the gist of how it's going to go.
14:30I was pretty concerned about Jason's outfit because I can never see a woman wearing that
14:36to any kind of an office, or really anywhere.
14:41Is it more?
14:43No, no.
14:45Did you use all your fabric?
14:46No.
14:49Why did you shy away from a jacket jacket?
14:51I didn't shy away from it at all.
14:52A modern-day woman would not have a conventional suit.
14:56Jason's design actually looks more clubby than business-y.
15:01It's borderline trashy.
15:05You need to seriously consider what you're doing here, because I think you've got amazing
15:08ability.
15:09What do you want to do?
15:11Do you want to win this challenge?
15:13Yeah, for sure I do.
15:17I'm a little concerned.
15:23Designers, you will have until midnight tonight to sew everything, and your models will be in
15:28bright early tomorrow morning.
15:29Good luck, everybody.
15:31Thanks, Brian.
15:35Tailored business suit.
15:37I'm making a dress.
15:39F*** it.
15:40Yeah?
15:41Yeah.
15:43Brian's questioning whether it should just be a full-on jacket with a collar or not.
15:47I don't want to play it safe, but I don't want to go outside the box of the challenge.
15:54Brian's just trying to get me to think, which I'm thinking.
16:01I'm doing a full f***ing jacket.
16:03You're changing it?
16:04I think it's super cool, but I just don't want to take the chance.
16:07I keep reading the challenge card, and it says business-tailored suit.
16:10I'm doing a jacket.
16:11I just need to work quickly and smart and get that jacket done and don't run out of time.
16:26Does it look okay?
16:27It's really pretty.
16:29I f***ing hate you.
16:38Changing my design was actually a good decision, and now I really feel like I'm going
16:41forward, and I really feel like this is going to be stronger.
16:44This is crazy, man.
16:45This is it.
16:45This is challenge 10.
16:47I hope I don't go home.
16:49I hear you.
16:52I don't want to go home either.
16:54I would be so upset.
16:56I wish Jason just kept his original.
17:05I'm so mean.
17:06You're mean now, Sonny.
17:08Like we weren't all thinking that.
17:11Hello, everybody.
17:20Morning, Sonny.
17:21Good morning.
17:22I told you, you have two days to make your power suits.
17:26I've decided that you will have until seven tonight.
17:30I love you, Brian.
17:31What?
17:32But you will also be making a second design.
17:37Oh.
17:37Oh, no.
17:41We're going from the boardroom to the bedroom.
17:46Your second design for this challenge will be lingerie.
17:50Oh, thingy.
17:55What the hell?
17:56I was worried about finishing the jacket and pants, and now I have to finish the jacket,
18:01the pants, and the lingerie that goes with it.
18:05You've got a lot to do, but we've brought in some help.
18:08Come on in, ladies.
18:15Your models are here, but not for a fitting.
18:19They're here to shop for the fabric that you will need for your lingerie looks.
18:23I'm pretty sure Alyssa's never made lingerie, so it worries me a little bit.
18:33Hey!
18:35When you're making lingerie, very specific things are needed, and hopefully Alyssa can find
18:40some lace.
18:41I'm going to give you a swatch of this fabric.
18:44Crazy.
18:46Lingerie, lingerie, lingerie.
18:50I guess we'll make you bra and panties.
18:52Okay.
18:53All we need are no triangles this big.
18:57Three in the front and one in the back.
19:00Oh, my God.
19:01I've never made any undergarments, so it's definitely new to me.
19:05And I wonder if we should do, like, a silk or, like, a chiffon.
19:12I'm just going to do, like, a nice, pretty little slip.
19:14I have never made lingerie before.
19:16I'm not going to get into making underwear, because I have never made underwear, and I
19:19can't do it by 7 o'clock.
19:20I gave her all the color swatches.
19:22It was very, very clear on what I wanted.
19:25What is this word?
19:27It's...
19:27Charmous.
19:28Charmous.
19:28Okay.
19:30Okay.
19:32Kerbal!
19:35You will have 30 minutes to shop, so let's get busy and find some fabric.
19:43Let's go!
19:52I'm going to have a heart attack.
19:54We started running.
19:55I didn't know what I was running towards.
19:57Widely?
19:58Charmous.
19:59I'm not sure.
20:01I'm not a sewing wizard.
20:02I've never been in a fabric store before.
20:04Hurry up, bottles.
20:05Let's go.
20:06It's a silk charmous.
20:07Jason wants me to get some kind of charmous, which to me sounds like dessert.
20:13Silk charmous.
20:15I'm just overwhelmed by all the material.
20:19Did she send a sketch with you?
20:21No.
20:22Oh.
20:22I was kind of confused when I had to pick out the fabric.
20:26It's called, um, something mousse.
20:30Are you using black or brown as your body?
20:32Well, no, I don't know.
20:34This color or this color?
20:39Black lace.
20:40Black lace.
20:40He just basically said, get some lace, but make sure it's beautiful.
20:45He would kill me if I got this.
20:47I'm thinking, like, oh, my God.
20:50The lace she wants, four meters if it's ruffled, nine meters if it's not.
20:54Nine?
20:54Yeah.
20:55Because she's doing, like, booty shorts.
21:00You have one minute left, models.
21:04Did I just drop something?
21:05Yeah.
21:06Thank you so much, Ashley.
21:07I love you.
21:09Time is up.
21:10Thank you very much, rocking ladies.
21:12Bye.
21:12Bye.
21:13Bye, ladies.
21:14Bye.
21:14Bye.
21:15Bye.
21:18Designers, your models are back.
21:21The fabulous fabric.
21:22You're going to have until 7 o'clock tonight to finish your garment.
21:28So, models, go find your designers.
21:30Tell them what you bought.
21:33Nice.
21:33Yeah.
21:34Good stuff.
21:35Okay, good.
21:37It's going to be hot.
21:39I'm a male, straight, women's wear designer.
21:43So, I mean, any garments I make is because I want to see women look more or as beautiful as they can.
21:50My butt cracks look right there.
21:51Right there?
21:52Yeah.
21:53Which finger?
21:55It's avant-garde panties, just on one side.
21:5916.
22:01I've never made a bra, but Tori has really nice ta-tas, so I actually had to drape the fabric onto her upper body.
22:11Do you know how to make underwear?
22:16Um, yeah.
22:18Well, yeah.
22:19I don't feel that girls have an advantage because they wear lingerie.
22:24I think I might have an advantage because I really like to look at lingerie.
22:28I'm totally happy about what I'm making.
22:30It's totally like Jason Meyers' woman.
22:32Yeah?
22:33Dude, I can get, like, hot just thinking about it.
22:36Awkward.
22:37I'll leave you alone with your Jason Meyers' woman.
22:45Holy s**t.
22:48Time's the ticket.
22:50Ah, f**k.
22:50The competition's pretty amped up right now.
22:53I mean, there's four of us, and one person's going home.
22:56I just need to work quickly and smart and don't run out of time.
22:59Good morning, designers.
23:19This is the final day.
23:21The end of many long hours and hard, hard work.
23:26Three of you will compete at Toronto Fashion Week, and one is going home today.
23:33You're going to have two hours to finish up your garments and finalize your looks with
23:37Eddie and Eric in the L'Oreal Paris Beauty Room.
23:40So, get busy and rock this runway one last time.
23:45I'm bringing your models in.
23:47Come on in, ladies.
23:48Morning.
23:50How's it going?
23:50How are you?
23:51I'm good.
23:51How's it going?
23:52Good.
23:52I have, um, nipple things that they...
23:56Nipple things?
23:57Yeah.
23:57Oh, I like nipples.
24:00You want to walk?
24:01Just see if they come down?
24:04They're on there.
24:05They're on there.
24:06Okay, good.
24:07This is so pretty.
24:10Yeah, you look really cool.
24:11I love that.
24:13Let's see.
24:14How the f**k did you make panties that fit?
24:16Is it crooked in the front or straight?
24:26It's supposed to be straight.
24:27I'm going to have to fix that.
24:28It's the piping.
24:29Because it's really...
24:30Is it really crooked?
24:31Yeah, the piping really throws it off.
24:33Yeah, it's really weird.
24:35For some reason, the seam was going, like, whoa, right over to the side.
24:39That's so wonky.
24:40I have no idea what's going on.
24:41Jean-Vievre is used to doing drapey things, and even when she does something that's tailored,
24:48it's still kind of drapey.
24:50I think I sewed it backwards.
24:52She's said before in the past that she was dreading having to do something tailored just
24:57because it's not really what she does, so I think she might be having a little bit of
25:00trouble.
25:06Okay, you know what?
25:07This is too small.
25:08After fitting Ashley, the top was way too tight.
25:13I think I'm going to make a new top.
25:21I'm just going to cut it back.
25:22I can just open it up in the back.
25:23Just to give me some more room, get over her shoulders, and just have, like, a nice little
25:26flowy top on it.
25:29I just hope that I'm going to execute a prop and get it done in time.
25:38Hi.
25:39Hi.
25:39Hi.
25:40We're going boardroom to bedroom, right?
25:42Yep.
25:42So we thought it would be a great idea to have two hairstyles.
25:45So what we're going to do is put a lot of curl in her hair, a loose curl, and just tie
25:49it back with a pencil, and then she just whips up the pencil and lets the hair fall down.
25:52Nice.
25:53That's a great idea.
25:53It's sexy and hot.
25:54You know what I mean?
25:55Cute, yeah.
25:56Makeup.
25:56What do you think?
25:57With the beautiful, healthy skin.
25:59For the eyes, it will be not too dark.
26:02And blush, pink blush, just fresh.
26:05Beautiful.
26:05Beautiful.
26:05Beautiful.
26:12Hey.
26:13Hi.
26:14I was thinking, like, a nice, clean line and just very fresh, glowy skin.
26:19Eddie was on par with it being clean and fresh and sort of going through the same tones as
26:24my suit with a little subtle pink and a little bit of brown.
26:27Put this kind of very soft pink on a base and one brown liner and brown eyeshadow.
26:33It sounds perfect.
26:34Good.
26:35Yeah.
26:35I need to put this on, and we have, like, 20 minutes to show, so.
26:42Can you do it here?
26:43Oh, we can do it right here, yeah.
26:44You want to?
26:48Everybody, seven minutes.
26:49Hair, makeup, seven minutes.
26:52Let's go.
26:52Okay, designers, you have five minutes, you have five minutes to runway.
27:01Can't thread this.
27:03Can't thread this damn needle.
27:04Can't thread this damn needle.
27:05So you want to just leave this on for now?
27:06Yeah.
27:06Yeah.
27:07It's down to four now, so it's crazy.
27:09It's anyone's game.
27:10It's anyone's game.
27:11It's absolutely anyone's game.
27:12Toronto Fashion Week is so close.
27:14I can taste it.
27:15I want a show so bad.
27:16I want a show so bad.
27:17I'm stressed out of my mind.
27:21I really want to be top three, and I have worked really hard, but I don't know what's going to happen.
27:2720 seconds, designers.
27:30It's so close.
27:32I would hurt small children to be in the top three.
27:35I want it so bad.
27:49Hello, designers.
27:50Hello.
27:50As you know, only three of you will continue to the final challenge and show collections at Fashion Week.
27:59Let's meet the judges who will decide who makes it to the finale.
28:06As always, we're joined by Sean Houston, creative director of Bustle Clothing, and Rita Sylvan,
28:12El Canada's editor-in-chief.
28:14Today's guest judge is David Dixon, one of Canada's leading fashion designers.
28:19David has shown at Toronto Fashion Week for 13 years, so he knows exactly what you need to be a success in this industry.
28:29This challenge took you from the boardroom to the boudoir.
28:33You were to design an outfit for the modern businesswoman,
28:36and then show us a soft side with a lingerie look.
28:41Let's start the show.
28:42I think the design of my business suit is good.
28:53It's not perfect, but I think it came out really good.
28:55But the lingerie, she totally worked it.
29:11Her body's amazing, and I think my undies and bra totally accelerated her curves.
29:17I thought overall it looked pretty beautiful.
29:31It's not perfect in the sewing and construction.
29:38It's a little crooked, but I was really happy with the design.
29:41I love this lip.
29:54I thought it was really beautiful.
29:55I like showing off women's backs.
29:58I think they're beautiful.
29:59I think it's the most beautiful part of the body.
30:01I knew that there were problems with the shoulders.
30:12It was really bulky.
30:13I know it's not 100% what it's supposed to be.
30:15So I hope that the overall look of it is going to save me,
30:19and the fact that that one thing is not quite executed well,
30:23because I think the rest of it is really, really awesome.
30:33I've never made lingerie, ever.
30:36I thought it was a very sweet little set.
30:39Really cute and really sexy at the same time, but comfortable.
30:42And I mean, it's something that's supposed to be worn under a suit.
30:45So I didn't want to go super crazy with it.
30:57I think my business suit is banging.
30:59I'm really excited where I took it.
31:00I'm really excited for putting shorts together,
31:03because shorts are way harder to do than a skirt.
31:05I could do a skirt in five minutes, and shorts would take me hours.
31:08So I'm happy, I'm proud, and it looks awesome.
31:15Ashley in the lingerie looked amazing.
31:18She's got great legs.
31:19She's got a great little body.
31:21All the guys watching around the world, you're welcome.
31:25And to Ashley's boyfriend, I'm sorry, dude.
31:27She looked great.
31:28And now for our questions.
31:34Sunny, tell us about your outfit.
31:37I wanted a strong suit, but the detailing to make it feminine,
31:42like the belts, which is removable.
31:44And I sort of mimicked a collar here, which is, you know, not part of the collar.
31:50It's a bit edgy, Sunny, but I think it works.
31:53And of course, it's extremely well tailored, both in the pants and the jacket.
31:57I think your fabric choice, Sunny, was great.
31:59And the detail at the waist is just beautiful.
32:02I think, again, the shoulders, too, could be a little bit wider,
32:05a little bit rounder, but very nice, beautiful fit.
32:09It looked great.
32:10I love this suit.
32:11I think it works in so many different ways.
32:13For the lingerie, I wanted it very sexy.
32:16What, did you put a wire in that bra?
32:17No, I cut it to her body.
32:21First of all, well done on the body.
32:23But also, it's beautiful.
32:26It is very basic.
32:27Okay.
32:28Yeah.
32:28I mean, when I saw your lingerie, I was a little disappointed.
32:31But I, unlike my friends, the judges here, I thought, who does bras?
32:38Only Sunny can do a bra.
32:40Fantastic.
32:44Tell us about your outfit.
32:45Well, this is my twist on the modern-day power suit.
32:51I was thinking sort of 1930s art deco.
32:54Tailoring does not seem to be your strongest thing.
32:57It's the first suit I've ever drafted.
33:01Yeah.
33:02The back does not fit very well.
33:04There's a lot of bunching up.
33:05You really see the problem with how you set in the sleeves,
33:09and the lines don't match up.
33:11I find it more of an 80s throwback as towards to the art deco period.
33:15And I think it's just slightly over-designed.
33:18Well, I'm not going to say slightly.
33:19I think it's over-designed.
33:20Now, I want to talk about your lingerie because it was my favorite.
33:22It was really, really good.
33:24I wanted to do a slip as opposed to sort of a two-piece.
33:27I just wanted to have a nice little neckline following the same lines as everything else underneath.
33:31It's sexy, it's fashion, and best of all, it's Jean-Vivre.
33:36I loved it.
33:38Jason.
33:39My inspiration was a cross between a creative young lady in the workforce and my mom.
33:44My mom is a very strong, independent business woman.
33:47I love the jacket.
33:49The jacket's a nice take on the whole power boardroom thing,
33:52but then when you throw in this sort of a pink top with a big bow and a pair of shorts,
33:56it's not really appropriate for the boardrooms that I've been in.
33:59I'm not sure how seriously she would necessarily be taken.
34:03Shorts are real hit and miss proposition, I think.
34:08I would have preferred to see a narrow skirt.
34:10Having said that, the fabric choice is fantastic.
34:13I love the gray, and the fit is very good.
34:17I got good news for you.
34:18The juxtaposition of pink with the gray is beautiful.
34:22For the lingerie, I thought nothing of my mom for inspiration for that.
34:26I'm glad.
34:29I was really trying to be classy, not trashy.
34:32For seeing such a whimsical suit, I was expecting a whimsical lingerie piece.
34:37Not something so, I guess, run of the mill.
34:39Jessica, tell us about your design.
34:44I imagined for my business woman, someone that was in a creative field,
34:48something like the bestseller at an ad agency.
34:50I wanted it to be strong and showcase the body, but in a very feminine way.
34:55I think the silhouette is good.
34:57The pants are more successful than the jacket.
34:59I mean, overall, I would just say okay.
35:01It's sharp.
35:02It's very well fitted, particularly the pants.
35:04It's maybe a little too tricked out.
35:06The details are maybe just a little excessive.
35:08I'm sure you're aware that there are some problems through the shoulder.
35:11Yeah, I've never drafted a sleeve from scratch, ever.
35:15Overall, I think the fit of the jacket is quite good, except for the sleeve and the shoulder.
35:19I like the concept of where you're coming from.
35:22The neckline is a bit too revealing, I think, in terms of no wonder she's the best sales agency
35:27in her group because she's not wearing anything under her jacket.
35:31With a few tweaks here and there, it could be a very powerful suit.
35:34The silhouette is great.
35:36And yes, there is nothing wrong with she used her, you know what, to get her job.
35:40A little clean, never hurt anyone.
35:43Yeah, yeah.
35:43No, I think it's sexy and it's great.
35:45The silhouette looks beautiful.
35:47Could you describe your lingerie for us?
35:49I wanted to keep it a little bit more simple just because I wanted it to be just very pretty
35:53details as opposed to really over the top.
35:55So that's why it just has the little bows and it just worked with the lace.
35:58The lingerie was a little bit boring, maybe not tricky enough.
36:02To me, it just looked like a day after the work and I'm just going to go sit in front of the TV,
36:06as opposed to I'm going to go have fun.
36:08Thank you designers.
36:10Thank you designers.
36:11We're now going to decide who's going to go to fashion week and who will be out.
36:18Okay judges, we have to be really sure about this.
36:20What do you think about Jason?
36:22To see that nippy little suit, it was nice to see from him and it was actually really
36:26well done, particularly in the jacket.
36:27I didn't love the shorts, but I think Jason has potential to show a really good range on the runway.
36:33I think so too. I mean, I think that Jason has that nice balance of he can do the tailoring
36:39and he does it really quite well and then he does the evening stuff very well.
36:42He does.
36:43What I like about Jason is he's quite comfortable and confident about his point of view.
36:46Absolutely.
36:49Okay, so somebody who's short-footed. Let's talk about Sonny.
36:53It's so sharp, you know. It's powerful, but it's feminine.
36:56The fabric choice was inspired because he took something that doesn't say, hey, hey, look at me,
37:01but because of the sheen, it gave the fabric life and femininity.
37:08Jessica.
37:09The silhouette was really good, but she didn't go far enough with it, you know,
37:13and then in some aspects she went too far, but for example, the shoulders were skimpy,
37:16and then she went a little bit overboard on the detailing.
37:19It takes years of mastering tailoring and trial and error to make a great suit.
37:23And for her first attempt after so many years, I think it was a good effort.
37:28How do we feel about Jessica presenting an entire collection?
37:31Throughout the course of the competition, Jessica has showed a great variety, a great range of styles.
37:37She's had some wonderful dresses. She's not bad in tailoring.
37:40That's interesting that she can offer that range.
37:45What do we think about Genevieve?
37:47I know how I felt about her lingerie. It's thought-provoking. The rest of them were, you know...
37:51There was nothing thought-provoking about it.
37:53Uh, did you see the back?
37:54Yes, I did. It was provoking some thoughts. It's men are so easily provoked.
37:59Suit. Let's talk about the suit.
38:01It was a bit of a failure because it was puckering and...
38:03You could see right from the get-go, this is not her strength.
38:06She's not comfortable with tailored things.
38:08She was trying too hard. She could have used a lighter fabric.
38:10That's what I felt. The fabric killed it for her.
38:13It just looked frumpy.
38:14She has continuously had the same silhouette.
38:18You know, this is a departure for her because she has no choice.
38:21Is that what we're going to see if we give her a collection? The same silhouette?
38:24Yeah, I mean, it's definitely a risk that you take with her because
38:27Genevieve has such a strong point of view.
38:29When she does it well, and this slip dress was a great example of it,
38:33she does it very, very well.
38:35Genevieve has been designing for so many years.
38:37I mean, almost six to seven years.
38:39Yeah, and Jessica is new at this.
38:45Three spots. Four designers.
38:49Someone is going home.
38:51Today, one of you will win this challenge.
38:57Three of you will move on to the finale.
39:00But one of you will be out.
39:06The winner of this challenge is...
39:12Sunny.
39:12In this competition, you have shown us gorgeous design, and now perfect lingerie, and a suit
39:23that rocks the runway.
39:25We can't wait to see your collection at Fashion Week.
39:29Crazy.
39:31Congratulations, you may leave the runway.
39:33I was so excited.
39:39I almost cried on the runway.
39:41Oh my God.
39:43It's crazy.
39:43Jason, you said your mom was the inspiration for your suit.
39:51You can go and tell her you made it to the top three.
40:00Yes.
40:03Well congratulations, sir.
40:04I'm trying to find words to explain how I feel right now about going to Toronto Fashion Week.
40:08It's overwhelming and exciting, and it really hasn't sunk in right now.
40:14Now, Jessica and Genevieve.
40:19Jessica, there were flaws in your tailoring, and your lingerie left us wanting much more.
40:29Genevieve, your design was great in the bedroom department, but bad for business.
40:36We have seen great growth in both of you, but sadly, only one of you can take the last part in the top three.
40:56Jessica.
41:01Congratulations, you earned the spot in Fashion Week.
41:06Thank you so much.
41:13Thank you so much.
41:17Oh my God.
41:20You better reckon that.
41:23Toronto Crew.
41:27Congratulations, man.
41:28I'm so happy and proud of myself.
41:37Holy crap.
41:38I did this.
41:40I'm like shaking.
41:40I'm like vibrating on the inside.
41:43Welcome to Thunderdome.
41:44Jessica's going to Toronto Fashion Week.
41:48Genevieve.
41:48I'm sorry, you just didn't measure up.
41:55Bye.
41:55Bye.
41:56Thanks.
41:56Bye-bye.
41:58I guess I was too confident or something coming into this competition.
42:02Hey dudes.
42:03Hey.
42:03Hey.
42:04Come give me a hug.
42:05You're so sick.
42:05I'm really disappointed that I didn't make it to the top three.
42:11It sucks.
42:12I still think I was one of the strongest designers in the competition.
42:15So I am a little bit surprised for sure.
42:17Yeah.
42:18Congratulations.
42:19Thanks.
42:19To you also.
42:20Lots of lessons well learned.
42:26And just like that little bit of extra is going to take you to the next step where you want to be.
42:31Okay?
42:31You're going to do very well.
42:33Thanks.
42:34You're welcome.
42:38Hi, everybody.
42:39It's not going to change my future plans at all.
42:41You know, before I came here, I was going to have a store and I'm still going to have it.
42:46I will always be a fashion designer.
42:50I will always be a fashion designer.
42:55Top three.
42:56Yeah.
42:57Top three.
43:11This global preview is brought to you in part by Wendy's Baconator.
43:14It's way delicious.
43:15It's Wendy's.
43:16On the next Project Runway Canada.
43:18The top three start their final collections.
43:20The mirror is meant to be.
43:22But Brian is not impressed.
43:24I don't see runway pieces.
43:26And just when everything is finally coming together, they're thrown for a loop.
43:30Your challenge is to make a 13th outfit that Cheryl Hickey could wear.
43:34So we brought in some help.
43:36I'm just really upset.
43:39Project Runway Canada.
