05:28a specific usp yeah yeah a little bit different yeah you happy with that as a brief yes yeah okay

05:41focus so we're definitely thinking the best thing to sell here are self-care and garden all agreed yeah

39:30lot of advice from the gallery i did say come come a bit closer because you guys were sat down
39:34it looked really casual like just show them talk to them directly well how much was it to start with

40:03space we were also on that i mean what i didn't get from that as a viewer looking in is what it was
40:08supposed to do for me i thought it was brilliant because it was what it was retailed at people
40:12actually pay per session in a salon to you so i thought if people could do it from home it might seem
40:16attractive you've had one of these i have yeah and does it work i hope so i'm not being i'm not
40:24being rude but has it worked as well the salon owner said i look good after so hopefully okay all
40:32right um now then raj the presenting team i believe initially was yourself maura and flo just to interject
40:41i said i think we should have more of a diverse mix on tv just so we're appealing to as much
40:46a wider demographic as possible in other words put a bloke on the selling side um so a strategic move
40:52um which was then implemented yeah which i'd already considered but just didn't mention at that stage
40:59okay so the first person i see on screen is paul and he is selling the neck thing okay it looked like
41:07a pile of elephant dung i didn't see that um but it was comfortable i think he did a bloody good job
41:16oh thank you to be honest with you thought blimey he's got a duck to water he must have a hundred
41:21million viewers now i think yeah i think he must he did a very very good job and i gotta tell you 37 sold

41:43flo i i if i'm completely honest yeah i think i had more technical stuff to do than flo

42:12well that's the point you see i was watching and i'm thinking to myself blimey that price has dropped
42:16quickly it's quicker than i could pick up the phone and order one especially if you know i had a pain
42:23in the neck so i thought that's a good idea that product you know um next on the scene came the
42:30stain remover oh yes raj okay well wow wow wow was all i heard was wow wow wow i was waiting for
42:41cues to come in through my ears there was nothing i tried to give examples saying that if your child's
42:46spilled something on their clothes and look at how this demonstrated dialogue you said you can buy
42:51one buy two buy it as a birthday present who wants that as a bleeding birthday present happy birthday
42:57yeah i'll get rid of your stains anyway moving on from there we start to see moira this was the fan
43:06he was doing so much shouting at one point i thought steam was going to come out your ears
43:11yeah um if you were selling norefin i think the sales of those would have gone up because
43:16honestly you were so loud to be honest that that moment for me was absolutely chaotic and i just
43:22felt like myself and raj were doing the best of what we could with the information i was trying to
43:26give information to raj when you were speaking and actually that was working but fine it was probably
43:31an agitated voice i appreciate i wasn't as calm as i could have been but you didn't sound like you
43:35sound here flo and i'm to be honest i apologize that i was screaming it didn't mean to that but i feed off
43:41energy and when i felt like this was common i was like okay a lot of panic and pressure anyway let's
43:46see how you did um now you may have expectations of what you think you sold but as you know people
43:52change their minds so these are the real confirmed figures from the shopping channel so karen perhaps
43:59you can tell me the final result for your team well alan all of their sales actually went through
44:05um and they sold a lot 53 products um and that gave you a total sales of 1124 pounds and 45 pence
44:15tim same thing well supreme also had all their sales confirmed and they sold 21 items
44:23they sold them though at a higher price and they were able to make sales that totaled
44:271 603 pounds and 79 pence right well supreme a win first wind look out the window you'll see
44:40you'll see pigs flying actually pigs do fly right uh so for your treat i'm sending you to the sabine

45:48smashed it i gave it my absolute all i was under a lot of pressure but i was really really happy with
45:52the results cheers guys was there any particular reason of dropping the price so much i did ask for
46:03phil's opinion and phil said well it's up to you so you were leading the price that is a responsibility
46:08you took we didn't have a clear enough sales tactic and pricing strategy for the gallery yeah ultimately
46:14raj has to be responsible for the failure of this one i didn't know i was shouting the fan came on it
46:20just felt like the tempo went right up and with that i just was like like it was just chaotic the
46:27way the girls were selling was almost embarrassing i think they're the main reasons why we failed this
46:31task the communication to you guys could have been better i think the selling techniques could have been
46:35better and obviously the pricing strategy which was yours could have been better the price dropping
46:40has hugely affected the sales flow is responsible because she was in control of the pricing

47:13he did 24 price drops across all the items that is double the amount of price drops the other team did
47:20what went wrong here look it was um i'll i'll take up it was my decisions um but it was you
47:27more responsible than phil in the gallery or what the problem i had in the gallery particularly around
47:32the pricing was every time we changed the price i'd say to phil okay should we lower the price okay
47:37should we change strategy and phil said well it's your decision it's up to you why did you make it her
47:42decision because it was her decision i had decisions i need to make which were exactly the same but we're a
47:47team phil you're meant to act as a team in that we were meant to go back and forth we weren't going
47:51to argue about every single price there's a lot going on i think it's hard to try to completely
47:55dissect every single element of that no i take responsibility like the price dropping was me
48:00i was the one that did it but i did ask for phil's opinion every time i did it and every time he said
48:05it was sat and he never gave you his opinion is that what you're saying no no so i'm just trying to
48:10i got from that meeting it was your vision was to hold the price i said hold your nerve i did say
48:15i even remember using the words hold your nerve on the price if you start reducing the price too
48:19quickly you start devaluing that product raj you and maura frightened people off they weren't
48:26interested in what you were selling it's as simple as that i mean paul for example why didn't you use
48:33him more actually you should have gone oh bingo you know what it's bloody good i'm going to use him
48:39again you broke i mean you broke a record at this company that they had complaints somebody says i
48:45flicked on two women i've never seen before screaming and screeching at me from the screen shouting over
48:52each other like it's a competition just watching a woman trying to sell a pop-up tent perhaps no
48:59presenters turned up so they've dragged someone in off the street to sell yeah lord sugar i totally
49:05understand and you know it would be amazing to be able to take back time i didn't realize that i was
49:11shouting or screaming i really didn't right so phil i mean nine tasks and you've been on the losing team
49:20nine times yeah you know you know even even a cat survives more than that you know that don't you
49:26yeah lord sugar i've been here for nine weeks i've had a lot of knockbacks but i'm certainly very
49:30resilient what made a lot of failures do you see him as a colleague a valuable colleague to this process
49:35at all no you said no i'd say no mike i've never worked with me well that's yeah i've got a good
49:41instinct i i see how you are in your instincts again this is for your instinct and an eye for sounds yeah
49:48yeah um i've been consistently good i eight weeks in a row i've been on the winning team that's not by chance

51:48a complete screw-up but you know i was going on what was going in my ear i should have just taken

52:09look i think i was the one that said the pricing um i did ask phil's opinion phil said it was my
52:15decision and i do take ownership of mistakes but it's the first time i've truly messed up in this
52:19process lord sugar sorry i've not been here in this position lord sugar before i know you said
52:24i'm lucky but there's other people that have lost nine times um and they've moved over to us and then
52:30nexus lost i think that's saying something lord sugar um raj has obviously had a shot at me there
52:35and you basically sat there and because i'm listening i've worked within a team where we pull
52:40each other up because i've been moved over to your team that's the reason we've lost and that's
52:44absolutely i'm nowhere near the reason we failed this task nowhere near let me explain if you worked
52:48collaboratively together i think you would have worked better and not reduce the prices i don't
52:53have a big problem with the pricing are you also taking the fall for the price thing alongside me
52:56we were both in that room so are you also taking the fall for the price i'll take responsibility
53:01with you if that makes you feel happy but you are responsible for that what she's saying
53:05flo's saying yeah look at the price to this what do you think what do you think what do you think
53:09should i drop the price and you were saying well it's up to you it's up to you basically
53:13that's what i could understand basically making me the fool guy and having me fall on the sword
53:18in this that is very ducking it that's very ducking it that's very rich i just think there's some
53:23point you need to say do you know what hands up i contributed the failure of this task it's okay
53:27a ridiculous statement but one thing you always say phil flo if that makes you feel better
53:32i'll take the blame with you that is so patronizing that's not what i said that's what you just said to

53:40for her mistake as she'll need to take responsibility i would not have got this far
53:45without being a team player it's impossible you know you're on the losing team for a reason because
53:49you're not a team player that's the thing you're not a team player it's obvious in a scenario like
53:53this where i've lost nine times the easy option is to say the reason no i don't think he shouldn't
53:58be here is because he's lost nine times look i'll tell you what i'm going to do i'm going to
54:02summarize now i don't want to hear any more from anyone um this is a selling task
54:09you're selling skills raj although you say are good we're not good in this case
54:17but the gallery was a bit hectic and there's talk of phil passing the buck on the pricing
54:25um but the salesmanship was no good whatsoever and maura i'm sorry maura but you you turned people off
54:36who created complaints i think the project manager should have pulled you when she watched you and
54:43saw you doing it and for that reason um raj i'm sorry but i think that you are responsible for the
54:53failure of this task and therefore you're fired okay thank you lord sugar for the opportunity
