00:01This remains one of the toughest processes around
00:04Lord sugar is on the hunt for a brand new business partner
00:08This is an opportunity of a lifetime fighting it out for his funding
00:1418 ambitious entrepreneurs
00:20It's a deal worth fighting for action
00:24That was amazing I can't hear all the chat and I do think we're getting it wrong
00:2818 candidates
00:3312 tough weeks. This was absolutely ridiculous
00:37You screwed up one life-changing opportunity. You're fired. You're fired. What's a bloody mess. You're fired
00:45Previously I want you to launch a new Formula E team Paul was in the driving seat
01:00Oh, they like trees. They like hunting trees, but his branding team lost control and
01:06And Onyeka's pitch stalled global warming is one of the biggest
01:13Sorry Trey led the other team. There's so many things you can bring into the branding if the sea is the basis for what we're doing
01:20His eco ethos. I don't know if I want the race car though. I think so hit the rocks
01:25It looks like an 8-bit 80s game, but the pitch was perfect
01:30We want a future where the oceans are as clean as could possibly be and in the boardroom
01:3638.7 million pounds Trey's team one. Oh
01:40Wow
01:41Verdi nearly left you are not a good director. You are clueless, but it was Onyeka not explaining the ethos is a very very serious thing
01:52Who sped off you're fired?
01:54Now 12 candidates remain to fight for the chance to become Lord Sugar's business partner
02:024 a.m.
02:094 a.m
02:11Good morning
02:12Good morning, Lord Sugar would like you to make your way to the Savoy Hotel in central London. The cars will be outside in 20 minutes. Thank you
02:2320 minutes and guess where we're off to?
02:25The Savoy. Oh, wow. Sounds like hospitality to me. Back in the kitchen, man
02:32The pressure is actually on for me and Maura. We're literally the only two in our team that haven't been project managers
02:40What do you reckon then Steve? It's a boy. One picture of you in a chef's hat. Back in the kitchen
02:45We back baby
02:47I can't face that loosest calf anymore
03:01Yeah
03:01Like literally you guys have collected enough stamps for a free free coffee now, ain't ya?
03:05Sixth one you get free, ain't it?
03:10The Strand, central London
03:13Iconic hotel, the Savoy
03:17Serving up sumptuous rooms and high-end breakfasts for over a hundred years
03:35Good morning. If you pick up the tablets on your table and scan the QR code on the front of the cereal box
03:48It'll tell you all about this week's task
03:55Good morning
03:56Now you already know I like a tasty deal
04:02What you might not know is that the cereal market is worth 2.6 billion pounds in the UK alone
04:11Now canny manufacturers have always appealed to kids with toys and treats
04:17But these days some switched-on brands are using augmented reality to capture kids imaginations and
04:25Create loyal customers
04:27Whoa!
04:28So for your next task I want you to design and brand a new cereal
04:33That tickles the taste buds of children
04:35Aged between 6 and 8 years old
04:38Complete with an augmented reality box
04:41Just like this one
04:43You need to create a brand
04:45Host a launch event
04:47And pitch your cereal to potential clients
04:50The team that produces the most sales
04:52Will win
04:54And on the losing team
04:56At least one of you
04:58Will be fired
05:01All clear?
05:02Yes
05:03Off you go
05:07Two days to create a kid's cereal brand
05:10What everyone's thinking about this task
05:12I think it's really exciting
05:14The AR this morning was really cool
05:16And try to secure sales at a launch event
05:19Anyone interested in being project manager?
05:21First job
05:22Choose a leader
05:25This ticks quite a lot of my boxes
05:27Personally, two kids
05:28They've both gone through that 6 to 8 range
05:30My kids are 2 and 4
05:31But I feel like
05:32Even though we're going through the 6 to 8 range
05:34Primary school children
05:36It's kind of like
05:37All about getting a good breakfast in them in the morning
05:39I kind of have an idea of what they would enjoy
05:42So I'd really love to take the project manager role
05:45Who votes for Sam?
05:49Fantastic
05:50So Sam, your PM
05:51Thank you guys
05:52I appreciate it
05:54As soon as I heard that the task was children related
05:57I was straight in there
05:58I've got two young kids
05:59And I just knew that I'd be able to do well in this
06:01Straight for project manager
06:03Parents are very big on making sure their kids have got healthy
06:06Breakfast and just food in general in them
06:08Yeah
06:09So we can make it healthy and fun at the same time
06:11Cool, sounds good
06:14Next door
06:15I've got two nephews, eight years old
06:16The last two years we've been hammering through the cereals
06:20Already invested
06:21Know exactly what that age range likes
06:23It's also a bit of a corporate task and a bit branding as well
06:27Management consultant, Steve
06:30In terms of the theme
06:31Something like a superhero theme
06:33Which allows us to create different types of characters for different types of kids
06:37So
06:38The only thing with superhero guys, it's been done
06:40Has it been done on cereal?
06:41I feel like it must have been done before
06:43I just think it's a hit and miss
06:44If you get it wrong it's going to be dire
06:46I'm leaning towards the superhero idea at the moment
06:50Because I think it gives us flexibility to design our own type of superhero character
06:53We can make it tongue in cheek, we can make it funny, we can make it silly
06:56Something that will appeal to that six to eight market
06:58I quite like space, it's very exciting, you know
07:04Also cooking up concepts
07:06We could almost integrate kind of the planets of the solar system
07:09Sam's team
07:10That's kind of what I was thinking there
07:12I was kind of thinking more like the Arctic
07:15It could just be a little bit more like out there with the Arctic
07:18And I think imagination is like a massive thing for like this age group
07:22We can get really playful with penguins, you know, you've got polar bears
07:26I think the Arctic, we're just really limited of how we can design this personally
07:30I think I agree, you've got whites and light blues in the Arctic
07:33But there's not loads of popping colours
07:35You can have a lot more fun with colours with space
07:40Healthy, healthy, healthy space
07:43Just go for a decision, Sam
07:48I'm going to choose, I'm going to go with Arctic more, I like the idea
07:53I'm slightly nervous that as we've gone with both healthy and Arctic
07:57It might be a little bit bland in terms of colours and selling opportunities
08:01I think that could cause issues across the board
08:04We're going to go with the Arctic
08:06And then a, like, polar bear as the main character
08:13Mulling over mascots
08:15The character creation would be Noor, Felucia and Trey
08:19Steve's team
08:21Guys, sub-team lead, anyone looking to be sub-team leader?
08:24I'll put myself forward as a sub-team leader
08:26OK, I think we'll use a, probably a human character
08:29And I'm entirely flexible about what that human character is
08:31For me, in my mind, I like a Tomb Raider, kind of, a strong female
08:35I think that's going to work, because I don't see many female characters
08:39But I think not just having a female, fairy-like, somebody really strong
08:43I think a strong female character's a really good idea
08:45I just don't want them to go down the cliche route of making it all capes and weapons
08:51They've got to make her a really strong character
08:53I think the most important thing is that character
08:55It is a bit edgy, but also a bit fun
08:57Yep, great
08:58Sam, I'd love to put myself forward for sub-team leader
09:02As the Arctic was your vision, I think you'd be amazing with that character team
09:06With Verdi and Paul, brilliant
09:09Sounds good
09:10We're going to win, and I really believe in everyone in this team
09:14So, healthy, fun vibes, let's get it
09:18Let's do it
09:19Let's go
09:2110am
09:22Today, half of each team will road test recipes
09:26I'm happy because two cereal winners make them one winning cereal
09:30Am I right?
09:31Stevie jokes getting worse
09:33Yeah
09:34While the rest will build their brands
09:37I'm just a bit worried that we've got the wrong target market
09:41Because it's six to eight-year-old age range
09:43I know that they resonate with kind of like human characters a lot more
09:47And they start to kind of go off animals a little bit
09:50Yeah, so I think that making it like a smart but like interesting polar bear
09:55Yeah
09:56And the test kitchens
10:00To make your recipe you would want to aim for 100 grams total
10:05Okay
10:06From experts in the science of crunch and slurp
10:09We recommend that you use a minimum of 50 grams for your base
10:14A briefing on the basics
10:16And then the flavours is a minimum of 15
10:19First on Steve's plate
10:21What are we thinking for the base?
10:23I'm thinking hoops
10:25I think it's a really safe bet
10:26Yeah
10:27Serve up a cereal to fit his superhero theme
10:30Probably the most important thing for me is it's not just a bland, plain looking natural colour
10:35So carrot might be a good idea
10:37Doesn't taste too bad at all
10:39I don't like it
10:40I've tasted better things
10:41So this one is the raspberry one
10:43How's it taste?
10:44I really like the raspberry because I think that works
10:47Right, look
10:48Right guys, we need some decisions
10:49What are we doing?
10:50Okay, right
10:51In that case
10:52Let's go with raspberry
10:53Let's try again
10:54What about raspberry hoops, milk chocolate chips and then just a choice of fruit?
10:58Shall we try with the apple?
10:59That wouldn't be
11:00It's quite nice as well, the apple and the chocolate chips
11:02I think we just need to lock it in now, otherwise we're going to be here all day
11:05I agree
11:07Steve is resting really on me and Rachel to pull him through
11:10I don't feel like he's taking leading decisions
11:13So guys, for our 300 gram order
11:15We have 150 grams of hoops
11:17Yeah
11:1845 grams of raspberry flavour
11:19Yeah
11:2045 grams of the milk chocolate chips
11:22And 39 grams of the dried apple
11:23Brilliant
11:26Next door
11:27I think folders and we can make them like snowballs
11:30Okay
11:31Refining their recipe
11:33It's a passion fruit, pineapple and banana
11:34Is that what it's going to be?
11:35Yeah
11:36Flo, Phil and Sam
11:38The passion fruit
11:40We need to put 15 grams of this in
11:42They recommend that
11:43But you don't have to
11:44I don't think you have to
11:45I think it's a strong recommendation
11:47I think we should probably follow strong recommendation
11:49I think we should do it to taste personally
11:50To taste?
11:51I would do it to taste
11:52Why don't we put a gram of passion fruit in there and see what it tastes like
11:54Oh really?
11:55For me even that feels a lot
12:01Another brown
12:02Sorry, this is two in total now
12:04Give that a good mix
12:08They've been given some rough guidelines of what percentage of ingredients should be added together to make a cereal
12:13They've decided to ignore that advice
12:16I mean none of them have ever made a cereal before
12:19Why do they think they know better than an expert?
12:21Sorry, how many grams do you put in there of passion fruit?
12:23About three
12:24It's fine
12:25I think that's a better taste for kids
12:26OK
12:30In the West End
12:31So the polar bear character
12:33Let's bring our vision to life
12:35Set on a bear for their box
12:38I was thinking Arctic Prince
12:40OK
12:41I do like the play with the word Arctic
12:43Paul, Verdi and Maura
12:46Let's get to the polar bear
12:48Standing up straight
12:49OK
12:50And then a big part of the polar bear head is remembering guys
12:53He has a snout
12:55That looks good
12:56Obviously there's going to be a t-shirt on
12:58Rather than a t-shirt
12:59Is it like some sort of like
13:00I actually like the t-shirt idea
13:02He definitely has something
13:03Maybe a rucksack on
13:05Think of that
13:06Any trousers then?
13:07OK, any trousers?
13:08Nah, I don't think trousers
13:09Also, maybe there's a crown
13:10Maybe there's a crown
13:11Maybe there's a crown on our polar bear
13:12Yeah
13:13That looks really good
13:16The character could look a little bit better
13:18I just hope it's not too childish
13:20That's my only worry
13:21I think I'm happy
13:23Yeah, he looks like a polar bear to me
13:32Next door
13:33Do you guys have any ideas of any names?
13:35So I was thinking
13:36Megabella
13:37Tasked with creating a strong female superhero
13:40Megabella
13:41Oh my god, I love her
13:42What colour do you want to do the outfit?
13:47So the outfit is going to be
13:49Let me think
13:51Erm
13:52Erm
13:53Oh dear
13:55Erm
13:56Green
13:57Erm
13:58Trying to think
14:00Can we do the outfit
14:02The fit to be like a brownish?
14:04I would stay away from brown because it won't stand out
14:07Erm
14:08Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do
14:10Maybe make that so the whole outfit is orange
14:12The orange isn't crazy
14:13Leave her in the orange and give her a red cape
14:15I know it's cliche
14:17But I think adding a cape is just going to make her more like a superhero
14:20Yeah
14:21Yeah, that's fine
14:22Not super original
14:24Probably in hindsight she should have maybe had her hands on her hips or something that made her look more bold
14:29More self-assured
14:31So, yeah, it's okay
14:33What do you think about the final design?
14:35Do you know what? I think she's finished
14:37Which is the most important thing
14:38Exactly
14:41Leading invention company Innovate Design
14:44I thought maybe having a big bowl and then with a spoon
14:48Brainstorming boxes
14:50Right, so looks like we've got the character in
14:53For both project managers
14:54It's probably not exactly what I envisaged
14:56Maybe something a bit edgier
14:58A first look at finished characters
15:05Okay, okay
15:07Mmm
15:08That's not awful
15:09I'm not sure what the crown's for
15:10Yeah, what's the crown?
15:11I personally would have liked to have seen it a bit more grown up looking
15:14I don't know
15:15Are you not thinking that's kind of getting Peppa Pig vibes more sort of
15:18If my daughter saw that
15:20She would say that's like a princess polar bear
15:23Yeah
15:27Next challenge for Maura, Verdi and Paul
15:29What if it's just this ordinary boy who's a polar bear?
15:33An augmented reality concept
15:35And he's going on a journey as a prince
15:37To give their box a boost
15:39And along the way he kind of meets different people
15:44I'm going to be honest
15:45I'm a bit worried
15:46That this may come across a little bit boring
15:49I really really think we should go with song and dance
15:52Like he's dressed in a rucksack
15:53He's got a t-shirt on
15:54Is he dressed to dance?
15:55Obviously I can body part
15:56And if I can make that look really entertaining on there
15:58I'd just be a little bit afraid with the song and dance
16:02We got it wrong with the ages
16:04It went too babyish
16:05Guys I'm happy to put my head on the line
16:07And take full responsibility if it backfires
16:10But I really really think we should go with song and dance
16:12Let's do it man
16:13Let's do it
16:14I promise you I can do this
16:15Okay
16:16I'm not going to rule over two people
16:17On the other team
16:21So you're going to get as animated as possible
16:23Really get into the groove okay
16:25Bringing Megabella to life for their box
16:28Right guys ready?
16:29Let's rock
16:30Outfit on
16:31Okay
16:32Acting novice Noor
16:34Let's do one take
16:35See how it looks
16:36Hi I'm Megabella
16:38And welcome to my world
16:40All you have to do is collect all the gems
16:43Is it gems?
16:44Gems
16:45Gems sorry
16:46All you have to do is collect all the gems for your
16:51So you need to exaggerate your movements like really exaggerate
16:54All you have to do is collect all the
16:57So we haven't got much time okay
16:59That gives you a mega super power
17:02Really exaggerate
17:03Do it again
17:04Go again go again go again
17:05My prince and princesses
17:09It's time for your first dance
17:11Getting into the groove
17:13Is the frozen snowman
17:14This is how it goes
17:15That's how it goes
17:20Put your right elbow out
17:22Then your left elbow out
17:23And swing side to side
17:25Well done you're getting it
17:27Perfect
17:28Second dance now
17:29It's now time for the dancing penguin
17:32It's just simple
17:33One two
17:34One two
17:35One two
17:36So raise your hands and tap your feet
17:39That's it
17:40Raise your hands and tap your feet
17:42Woo
17:43Well done
17:44Perfect
17:45Last one is the slushy
17:47Okay
17:48Paul in his element
17:49I'm in my element
17:50This is going to be the key to get us the win
17:53Because this is absolutely amazing
17:56The body and the right arm
17:59It's a wrap
18:00Nice on Paul
18:01Smashed it on that one
18:02On the other half of the team
18:06Can we get polar written in like kind of like a snowy
18:10In bubble
18:11Yeah
18:12Perfecting their arctic themed box
18:14For the crunch
18:15Can we get it in like more of like a crunchy texture
18:19Yeah
18:20Flo, Phil and Sam
18:22Guys are we happy that that reads crunch
18:26Erm
18:28Or should we make it thinner?
18:31Sam I think we should leave that there for now because we just don't have time
18:34Sorry
18:35Peter can we make sure that this crunch is in the same size as polar?
18:39I think it does the job
18:40Are we happy with it or not?
18:41Erm
18:42A bit more over like here?
18:45No we just need to crack on
18:47Okay
18:49I don't think Sam's being efficient enough with her decision making
18:54After she's you know dilly dallying over the small detail
18:56And we don't have time for the small detail
18:58The small detail comes at the end after we've got the basics of the design in
19:01Slightly to the left a bit
19:02Everything
19:03Everything slightly to the left a bit
19:05Yes
19:10Next door
19:11Are we able to kind of like superimpose some actual serial hoops
19:15Powering through with their superhero cereal
19:18Should we get that one, that one and that one for the three O's?
19:22Rachel, Raj and Steve
19:24So I think first of all the font
19:26Can we make the border thicker on all the letters?
19:29I wouldn't get into that
19:30I would say put the colour onto the packaging
19:33I would say get your character on there
19:35Make it in orange, put it in orange
19:36Look, look, alright fine
19:37Charlie, please can we get a bowl up?
19:39That one's okay up there, got this one and it looks like apple as well
19:43So
19:44Shrink the border and shrink the border
19:46Can we shrink an angle, please?
19:47What I'm thinking is just having that upper half
19:49Do you think it looks weird?
19:50That's fine, I think you like that
19:52Yeah, guys, I think
19:53Alright, colour
19:54I like that
19:55Yeah, I actually really like that
19:56Working with Raj and Rachel
20:00It was difficult managing them, particularly under time pressure
20:03Everyone trying to get their views across
20:04But at the end of the day, we've got what we've got
20:06Steve, thoughts?
20:07So you're project manager, you get final say
20:09What are you thinking?
20:10To be honest, Power Hoop's logo's not too bad
20:13I think the colour's okay
20:15We can make this work
20:17For the other team
20:19Can we get the logo on there and our little polar man?
20:23Deadline looming
20:25Is there a way we can have him just coming from the corner?
20:28Like at a slight diagonal
20:30Focused on finer details, Sam
20:33We definitely need to find a bowl
20:35Um, guys, in the interest of time I need I think this bowl idea
20:38It's great, but I don't know if we've got time to deliver it
20:41I'm wondering if we change it up slightly
20:43And just have passion fruit and banana
20:45That one on the left?
20:46Yeah, that's it, yeah
20:47I think we should do more like a cartoony vibe
20:49We don't have time to decide
20:50Okay, the passion fruit, make that a bit smaller maybe?
20:53No, I think we need to keep the full space
20:55Banana chip
20:56Oh, look, there you go
20:57And then can we level that crunch that's going up on a right angle?
21:00That's it, yeah, like that
21:01Okay, guys, that's your tongue up
21:03We need to set this to the prince
21:097pm
21:10Maura, I absolutely love it
21:12High-tech boxes complete
21:15Once they collect the gem, it says the message
21:18Enjoy your mega card
21:19Prototype cereal in production
21:22Thank you very much, Peter
21:24Thank you
21:25Tomorrow, pitch Tobias
21:347am
21:35Let's get the box out so you guys can see what we're working with here
21:39For Steve's team
21:40There we go
21:41Power Hoops
21:43A first look at their finished brand
21:45I really like the Power Hoops
21:47Because I feel like even the red, it goes with the cape
21:50So yeah, when we got the character through
21:52We were expecting something a little bit edgier
21:54Okay
21:55We thought it was going to be maybe sort of stronger
21:57And a bit more exciting for a seven-year-old
22:00She has to look like a superhero
22:02So we're giving her like the square shape
22:04To me like the superhero with the cape
22:06When I said Tomb Raider
22:07I was thinking of somebody that was slightly leaner
22:10So she is looking a bit boxy
22:15Across the hall
22:16Right, guys
22:17Are you ready?
22:18I'm ready, I know
22:19Go on
22:20I'm scared
22:21Feeling the chill
22:22This is...
22:24Polar Crunch
22:26Project manager, Sam
22:35My biggest concern really is
22:37Do we know it's cereal by looking at that?
22:39As soon as I see the fruit I'm like
22:41Is it just fruit in there or is it actually cereal?
22:44Erm
22:45Where we were stuck to the time on getting more text on
22:47We just thought let's get at least some fruit on there
22:50That's in the actual branding
22:52In the actual cereal
22:53I was just picturing a bowl
22:55And then maybe if you're doing healthy
22:57The fruit and the wheat or whatever in it
22:59That's the only thing
23:03There's no cereal on it
23:04You can't tell it's cereal at all
23:06It looks like a fruit box
23:07So I'm worried that kids aren't going to get
23:09That this is what they eat in the morning as cereal
23:11Rather than just fruit
23:15Alright guys, shall we try it?
23:17Putting power hoops to the taste test
23:19It looks like cat food
23:21Good start
23:22Good start
23:23Steve's team
23:34So much different flavours coming through
23:36It's got a citrusy thing coming
23:38Is it a marshmallow?
23:39The only flavour is a raspberry apple and chocolate
23:41I probably would have had a little bit more chocolate chips
23:44I think for kids it might be too healthy tasting
23:48Part of the reason for having the fruit in
23:51Is to make sure that the adults are also happy
23:53I think this is virgin on
23:55Probably not that great
23:56But the fact that you've got chocolates I think saves it
23:58Cheers! Let's do it!
24:02For the other team
24:04A chance to chow down on Polar Crunch
24:08So is the main flavour passion fruit or banana?
24:11So the balls themselves which are the main ingredient
24:14They're coated in passion fruit flavour
24:16In terms of the flavour I'm not really getting that passion fruit coming across
24:20Yeah
24:21We hardly put any in there
24:23We recommended for 100 grams or 15 grams
24:26We put three
24:27So it was a bit of a risk
24:29If I eat just snowballs on its own
24:32I can't, it doesn't scream passion fruit to me
24:36Phil was really, really keen on not putting too much in yesterday
24:40And I feel like that's affected it
24:42So yeah, I'm a bit concerned about that going into the pitch today
24:46What we'll sell it as is it's meant to be natural, healthy
24:51And you still have the kick of the fruit
24:55Hi, I'm Megabella and welcome to my world
24:59For Steve's superhero squad
25:02I have a mega super power
25:04I can control the adults
25:06And you can too
25:08The big reveal of their augmented reality box
25:12All you have to do is collect the gems
25:15Gems
25:16So when you click on things
25:18Awesome
25:19Enjoy the card
25:22I couldn't see the point of the game
25:28She just stood there speaking
25:30Gems appeared and disappeared
25:32I didn't see what was going on
25:33You feel like that because you weren't playing it
25:35If you're playing it, you're looking for the gems
25:37And moving the screen around
25:38I think six to eight year olds
25:40They're a lot smarter than you think they are
25:42They're looking for something a bit more complex
25:44Their immediate reaction is going to be
25:46This is probably too simple
25:50Put your right elbow out
25:51Then your left elbow out
25:53And swing side to side
25:54That's it, well done, you're getting it
25:57For the other team
25:58Now it's time for the dancing penguin
26:00So raise your hands and tap your feet
26:03That's it, well done
26:05A first look at dentist Paul's moves
26:08Finally, time for my favourite one
26:11The slushie
26:12Raise your right arm
26:14Well done
26:15That was amazing
26:17What do you think our peoples?
26:19Erm
26:20Erm
26:21Sorry to put a damper on things a little bit
26:24I don't think we've hit the age demographic
26:26I don't think a six to eight year old would do that
26:28I think it's a bit childish
26:29I think I strongly disagree
26:30Because I feel like at that age
26:32You kind of want to get up
26:33You want to jump around
26:34And you want to dance around
26:35And you're learning to do this kind of stuff
26:37I feel like we've really hit the age mark with this
26:40Okay, cool
26:41All the ladies here are cereal winners
26:43Today we need a winning cereal
26:45Let's go do it
26:46Yeah
26:4710am
26:50While half of each team seek out feedback on their cereal
26:54Do you know what six to eight year olds are like?
26:57Very picky
26:58They're brutal
26:59Very picky
27:00The rest will prepare for the pitches
27:03When I tasted it
27:05When I tasted it
27:06It was quite hard to actually even have that passion fruit taste
27:09In the whole 300g packaging
27:10We only had nine grams of passion fruit flavour
27:13Okay
27:14And you know
27:15At the end of the day
27:16It's not what you're selling
27:17It's how you sell it
27:19She's had it
27:23London Zoo
27:24Are we ready to taste the cereal?
27:26The rest of Sam's team
27:28Yay
27:30Take the temperature of the target market
27:35The banana is really hard to chew
27:41I think it tastes very plain
27:45I feel like no taste in it
27:48Shall we scan the QR code and see what happens?
27:51This is how it goes
27:54Put your right elbow out
27:56Then your left elbow out
27:58And swing side to side
28:00Do you like it?
28:01Yeah
28:02Yeah
28:03I think it's silly
28:04I think it's for a smaller brother and sister
28:08Smaller?
28:09The younger?
28:10Awesome!
28:11Also facing a focus group
28:15Almost there
28:17Power hoops
28:19What do you think of the game?
28:21What do you think of the game?
28:22That superheroes smiling
28:25So I think it's
28:27Here this year is yummy
28:28I don't think it's that fun
28:30When you play it's just going to be the same every time
28:38What do you think of the taste?
28:40I didn't really like it
28:42Because like
28:43It wasn't that nice to flavour
28:45The flavours were so strong
28:47I thought they were going to be a little bit lighter
28:522pm
28:53Hello
28:54Hey
28:55Hey
28:56How are you seeing?
28:57Before pitching their cereal
28:58They just said collectively it was way too many flavours
29:01For both teams
29:02When we showed them the AR
29:04Everyone thought it was really funny, silly
29:06Yeah
29:07A chance to chew over market research
29:10The taste they weren't too keen on
29:12There was one boy who said it was bland
29:14Yeah
29:15Based on yesterday
29:16You know
29:17I wanted to make sure that we did have enough of the passion fruit
29:20And I think we were in the end
29:22Instead of doing it to the suggested amount
29:25We were doing it to taste weren't we
29:27So obviously we need to just be prepared
29:29That we might get that bland come up
29:31And just really push on the fact that
29:32We didn't want to add too much flavouring
29:385pm
29:40Arriving at both venues
29:42Some of the industry's biggest buyers
29:46Including Waitrose, Asda and Okada
29:50Thank you so much for coming first of all
29:52Serving up Polar Crunch
29:55As you can see we've gone for an Arctic theme
29:59Sam's team
30:00We've specifically added the fruits in
30:04So that you can see there's a fruity aspect of it
30:10So not only is this a really healthy breakfast
30:15And start to the day for the kids
30:17But it's also really fun for them
30:19Because we have a special AR effect as well
30:21In West London
30:27Serving up his cereal brand
30:29Hi everybody, thank you all for coming here today
30:31Project manager Steve
30:34We're here today to introduce you to our brand new
30:38Super, pun intended, cereal brand for kids
30:42Power Hoops
30:43Power Hoops
30:44Hi everyone, I'm Megabella
30:47It's a privilege to be here in front of you guys
30:51So I've travelled all this way
30:53To meet you guys, obviously
30:56And I'm so happy to be here guys
31:08Introduction's over
31:11Teams have one hour to secure bulk orders from buyers
31:15We want kids in the school to be talking about this
31:17When they go home they'll be like
31:18Mum, Dad, can you go and buy this for us?
31:20While Verdi gets a bite
31:23If we were to do a trial
31:24We'd probably go for 3,500 units
31:27OK, great
31:28In talks with market heavyweight, Iceland
31:31To Lauren and Stuart
31:32I've got to say this first
31:33Dentist, Paul
31:35We've gone for an ice theme
31:37It's Iceland
31:38It seems like it's a partnership made in heaven
31:39What do you think?
31:41Well, I think that's where the challenge starts
31:44Looking at the packaging
31:45And looking at the product and tasting the product
31:47There's a disconnect
31:49The way I see it is that this could go global
31:52And I assure you this will be the best decision that you made today
31:55From the consumer research
31:57What didn't the children like?
31:58Yeah, so it's interesting because the children thought
32:01Actually, it's a little bit on the bland side
32:05They definitely did still eat it
32:07There was just one thing that really drawed through the kids too
32:09It was our lovely Arctic Prince
32:11You make a very compelling argument
32:13The challenge we have is that the product and the packages
32:17They did not target
32:18It's our job
32:19Thank you
32:20Thank you
32:22As project manager, I'm so passionate about this product
32:25I think for Paul to turn around and say
32:27It's bland
32:28It was just like
32:30You might as well just shoot me
32:31It was over
32:32It was over then
32:35West London
32:36Through the games
32:37They'll start to learn more about Megabella
32:39They'll find out her story
32:41While Steve struggles
32:43I just unfortunately don't see this character being inspiring
32:48Bowling over buyers for Lucia
32:51With the product, it's a great product
32:53Are there any other questions at all?
32:54If we were to place an order
32:55We'd like to have a period where we would have exclusivity on the product
33:00Is that something that you'd be prepared to do?
33:07What kind of numbers would you be clear to drink or drink on?
33:10We'd be looking at an order in excess of 200,000 units
33:17At this current stage, we are in a position where we do want to
33:20Is that a no?
33:21I'll just explain
33:22If you don't mind, we'd love to speak to our boss
33:24And get straight back to you
33:25Amazingly couple of minutes
33:27Thank you so much
33:28Thank you
33:30Okay, so
33:31We've spoken to Iceland
33:32And they're asking for exclusivity
33:34For around 200,000 orders
33:35Wow
33:36Is that something you want to take?
33:37Does that mean we can't sell to anyone else today?
33:39The first person you've spoken to?
33:40Yeah
33:41That suggests if the first person's made an exclusivity of 200,000
33:44God knows what we might be leaving on the table
33:46So what if we say 200,000 exclusivity for three months?
33:49If you feel you can push it, then obviously do
33:51But three month exclusivity deal at two to three hundred
33:55Got it
33:57Amazing, thank you so much for bearing with us
33:58Hello again
33:59Hi again
34:00That's something that's doable
34:01We are happy with 200,000 for three months exclusivity
34:04Excellent
34:05Amazing
34:06Congratulations
34:07Thanks guys
34:08Well done
34:09The exclusivity order is great
34:10But by giving that, they're now tied to it
34:12They can't negotiate with many others
34:14Because no one wants to be second in this race
34:16They should have thought about that before sealing that deal
34:18But they agreed to three months for 200,000
34:21How does that sound to you?
34:22That sounds amazing
34:23In fact, really, really good
34:27On the other team
34:28When you try the Polar Crunch
34:29Do you feel like it's something that would stand out within the shelves of Waitrose?
34:33No
34:34No
34:35While Sam gets frosty feedback
34:37You've got a polar theme, but tropical fruits and it just jars too much
34:42Phil, Verde and Flo move in on a major player
34:45I actually got really excited about your name
34:48Thank you
34:49I actually thought Polar Crunch was great
34:50Thank you very much
34:51Thank you
34:52But then you went for tropical flavours
34:54So you went from polar to tropical
34:56Yeah
34:57And that's where it started to lose it for me
34:58Yeah
34:59Because the idea of icebergs in the milk
35:00You could have had so much fun with that
35:01I do take on board your sentiment in regards to it would have been better if them fruits were more connected
35:06So really what we wanted to see is if you're interested in taking the product
35:09And what sort of numbers you'd be looking to do
35:11I've got to be honest, I wouldn't be looking to place an order
35:13I genuinely think if you were to put that in front of customers
35:16I think they'd struggle to understand what the flavour is, what the product is
35:20It would be really great to do something with you today just so you can come in at the ground level with this
35:23No
35:24I think not really
35:25Poundland is massive
35:27They've got over 700 stores
35:29Phil was meant to leave that and it's so disappointing they put no orders in
35:33If we put in that position again rather than leaving it in their hands
35:36If they're saying they want nothing just saying what about 20,000?
35:38Trial it out, augmented reality is the next biggest thing
35:41Yeah
35:4230 minutes till sales must cease
35:45We like working on an exclusive basis as well
35:48With hands tied by their huge order
35:51So I guess it's a bit disappointing we couldn't have the product first
35:54So I think for us today it would be a no
35:57Steve pushes for a deal with a delay
36:00We love the name, love the tagline, think it really stands out to kids
36:04So we'd pull it into our bigger stores or some of our best selling ones at the minute
36:08How many stores would that be?
36:09Around 300
36:10We should say that we've got a three month exclusive sale order with a retailer
36:20Are you guys comfortable to maybe wait three months and we can start from there in terms of an order that you guys might place?
36:26No
36:27You wouldn't be willing to take an order now delivery in three months?
36:30No
36:31Is that a categoric no?
36:32Yes sir
36:33What's the kind of rationale behind that?
36:35Just so I understand what the kind of reluctance is
36:37Because once you miss a large we lose customers
36:40Thank you
36:41Thank you
36:42Thank you
36:44Five minutes to go
36:46We want at least around a hundred thousand
36:48That's the mark we want to look at
36:49Both teams
36:50Somebody has placed a very big order to take an exclusive deal
36:54Press for sales
36:56What numbers are we talking?
36:57It's not an option
36:58Would you look along the lines of 10,000 orders?
37:01Can you guys see these at Premier Inn?
37:03Unfortunately it's going to have to be a no
37:05Could we start with an order of 2,000?
37:07Yeah
37:08We'll agree on 2,000
37:09There's no bowl, there's no spoon, there's no milk
37:10And so for us it will be a no today
37:12Trial it, nothing to lose but everything to gain
37:15Are we able to offer you some kind of trial and make an order today?
37:18We would be delighted to work with you guys
37:20Because you've tried so hard, absolutely
37:22Thank you very much
37:23Thank you very much for that
37:24Thank you
37:266pm
37:27Hey guys, welcome back
37:28Trading over
37:30It was mixed feedback
37:32Oh yeah
37:33But I think we should all be really proud
37:34I think the sales have been really disappointing this afternoon
37:37And I really don't think we've done enough to win this task
37:39Genuinely, hand in my heart
37:41Because I'm really pushed there
37:44If we end up in the boardroom tomorrow
37:46I do believe that Sam will be to blame
37:48Because I would say it comes down to the product and packaging
37:52Tonight, cereal sales will be totted up
37:56Tomorrow, crunch time
37:59You can go through to the boardroom now
38:09You can go through to the boardroom now
38:11So, I sent you out to design a new serial targeted at six- to eight-year-olds.
38:40So, I think I'll start off with Supreme.
38:45Naturally, I felt passionate about the product with it being children-related, being a mum myself.
38:50So, what's in this stuff then?
38:53So, it's a passion fruit boulders with pineapple chunks and banana chips.
39:00Bananas and pineapple in the Arctic?
39:03Yeah.
39:03Seems like global warming is really kicking in.
39:07Where's the synergy?
39:08Yeah. Main reason being, I wanted to keep it quite neutral, but also kind of doing like icy colours and flavours that kids are going to like as well.
39:18Right. And Phil?
39:21Yes, I'm sure.
39:21The chef was saying that you needed to use about 45 grams and you chose to only use nine. What was the reason for that?
39:29So, with the flavouring, when we did our sample batch, it was quite obvious to me that that was far too much of what we needed.
39:35So, I kind of convinced the girls just to do it to taste.
39:38The problem is it tasted a bit bland, didn't it?
39:41Um, I think, um...
39:43I think it was.
39:44Okay.
39:45Yeah.
39:45You're going to try it?
39:47No.
39:48I don't believe you.
39:51You're not missing much.
39:53Now, er, so you were in charge of designing the box also, yeah?
39:58Yeah.
39:58Yeah, I've seen that.
39:59So, where is the picture of the, er, cereal?
40:01We did have a bit of time wasted, which meant that, at the end, it was just a real push for getting the fruit symbols on there, rather than just whacking a bow on.
40:12I think that's one problem that we did have.
40:14I'm walking down the shelves of a supermarket and I don't know what that is.
40:19I've got a bear that, um, looks like he's pissed.
40:24Er, I guess that you realise he had no trousers at one stage, so you decided to wrap him, wrap him round there.
40:31Pretty much, yeah.
40:32Yeah.
40:32Right.
40:33So, now we've got Maura, Verdi and Paul, er, you go off to develop the character, is that right?
40:41Yeah, Lord Sugar.
40:42So, Spielberg.
40:43Yes, Lord Sugar.
40:44Um, you must have thought, better keep out of this, yeah, really, from your past successes, no?
40:50Um, actually, when it came to actually...
40:52You might have hit an iceberg here, really.
40:54Yeah.
40:55I think, um, quite proud of the directing I did do with the AR.
40:59I must say, Lord Sugar, that Verdi did good, do a good job with directing.
41:03You did the dance, didn't you, Paul?
41:05I did, I think, um...
41:06OK.
41:07Shall we try this thing?
41:08Let's see if it works.
41:10So, my prince and princesses, it's time for your first dance.
41:14The Frozen Snowman.
41:15This is how it goes.
41:17Put your right elbow out, then your left elbow out, and swing side to side.
41:22Side to side, now move your feet, side to side, that's it, you've got it.
41:27Move your feet, side to side, well done, you're getting it.
41:32I think any street credibility I had went with that video.
41:34I think you're right.
41:36Kids quite liked it, though, didn't they, which was the order.
41:38Yeah, which was the most important.
41:39Right.
41:40How many of your buyers did buy?
41:42I sold one, and then Flo sold to two retailers.
41:46Right, so there's three.
41:48Right, OK.
41:49Right, let's move over to this other team, Nexus, yeah?
41:53Who came up with the name Power Hoops?
41:55That was me.
41:56Right.
41:56Same with Fuel Your Power or Fuel Your Superpower.
41:58Fuel Your Power?
42:00Isn't that a Viagra strap line?
42:02It may be.
42:03I might not know anything about that, but...
42:05LAUGHTER
42:07Right, anyway, from what I can understand, Steve,
42:12you were somewhat indecisive throughout this task.
42:16I think it's important to actually gather information,
42:20speak to your team, let them have an opinion,
42:22and then come to a decision.
42:23That simple idea, like I said...
42:24Did he keep changing his mind all the time?
42:26Just going back to the kitchen, you were indecisive,
42:28and there was a lot of, I don't like this, I don't like this,
42:31but there was just no moving forward and there was no solution, so...
42:34Yeah, I would say...
42:35Me and Raj and I both had to kind of
42:37push towards moving forward from that.
42:39I don't think I ever lack taking action.
42:40I think that's wrong.
42:42Right.
42:44This is your bowl of cereal here, which is not too bad.
42:48There's no question of you know that's a cereal.
42:50She looks a bit surprised, this woman here.
42:53That would be Megabella.
42:54Megabella?
42:55Sounds like a nightclub in Marbella.
42:57Yeah.
42:58Yeah.
42:58So, let's have a look at this thing, shall we?
43:02Hi, I'm Megabella, and welcome to my world.
43:08I have a mega superpower.
43:11I can control the adults.
43:13And you can too.
43:15All you have to do is collect the gems.
43:18Good luck and enjoy your mega game.
43:21Well, it's not a bad idea, I suppose, whether the kid would get bored with it after a while.
43:29You know, first day it might be a bit of a novelty, second day it's like, done that.
43:33So, you spoke to the eight retailers.
43:38What did you do?
43:39We split up into our sub-teams to speak to the retailers.
43:42Volusianor and Raj, you dealt with Iceland, did you?
43:44Yeah, they straight away said, look, we would love exclusivity on it.
43:49They gave us the option.
43:50I said I wanted to speak to my boss, which was Steve, so we had a team meeting.
43:54The boss, what did you have to say?
43:55Do it without question, because I thought it was a fair offer.
43:59Right.
44:00So, what happened then?
44:01So, we...
44:02Because I suppose when you started talking to other people that had an interest,
44:05and you had to say to them, now, sorry, mate, someone's bought them all exclusively.
44:12They're a bit of a bloody risk, no?
44:13It was.
44:14It really impacted us after that.
44:16Yeah.
44:16Hmm.
44:18Right.
44:18Well, let's see how we got on.
44:20Tim, can you tell me how your team did with retailers?
44:24Well, the total orders that they walked away with from one client was 200,000 units.
44:30Karen, exactly the same thing.
44:32Well, Alan, as you know, they got orders from three retailers.
44:38They secured only 7,500 orders.
44:42Wow.
44:43That's quite amazing, really.
44:46Took a big risk with that exclusive deal.
44:48Calculated risk, but I'm glad it paid off.
44:50Well, well done.
44:53Not often we see orders of that size here.
44:56So you're going from whole grains to fairground games.
45:02So I'm sending you to a high-end carnival-themed arcade
45:06where you'll find your own inner child, if you like, yeah?
45:10So have fun, and I'll see you on the next task.
45:13Thank you, Lester.
45:14Well, lost again, Supreme.
45:27Phil and Verdi, both of you, six out of six now.
45:32So I can honestly say you are serial losers.
45:37Yeah?
45:39Anyway, you're going to go out, you're going to have a chat amongst yourself,
45:42you're going to come back in here,
45:44and one of you is going to be Cheerios.
45:48Off you go.
45:49Yes, guys.
45:54Looking forward to this.
45:56Yeah.
45:57Aim for the milk.
45:59The cereal milk.
46:00That's it.
46:01Obviously, in the boardroom,
46:03there was a bit of critique of my project management style.
46:06I do truly believe in this task.
46:08It was right to give everyone a bit of a voice.
46:11I won!
46:11I won!
46:12I'm first place.
46:14So am I.
46:15I definitely didn't think we'd run this task.
46:17However, Felicia absolutely smashed it,
46:18got the big unit order, so really happy.
46:21Hey, four out of five, guys.
46:24It was incredible being able to get such high numbers.
46:26Really proud of myself for pushing myself out of my comfort zone
46:30and smashing that deal.
46:31Team Nexus all the way.
46:32Team Nexus!
46:33Faga Bella!
46:37I think the flavouring was slightly too low,
46:42which it did impact the taste.
46:43The flavouring and that decision to make it that low
46:46was your decision.
46:47I think there's a lot of mistakes being made on this task
46:50and I can't see how I'm being held responsible
46:52for making any of them.
46:53With ours, it didn't seem that clear that it was cereal.
46:56The fruit thing, it was meant to be about, you know, five a day.
46:59I can understand that, but it didn't have anything else on it.
47:02Overall, it does come down to the branding,
47:04not telling the obvious story that it was cereal.
47:06So I really do think, unfortunately, it is down to Sam.
47:09The character seemed quite young.
47:11What we created with the AOR got us even the investment that we did get.
47:16Like, I can't fault that day at all, to be honest.
47:19The failure of this task falls on the branding team.
47:22There's no cereal bowl.
47:22You couldn't really even tell that it was a cereal box.
47:33Yes, could you send the candidates in place?
47:36I just want to let you know something.
47:50What we did afterwards was to go around and check
47:53with the other customers as to what they would have ordered
47:58if the exclusivity deal that they pulled off didn't work.
48:03And it came to 60,500 units.
48:07So I just want to get it out of your head that they were lucky.
48:11They would have still romped home.
48:13So when you look at it, it's very...
48:18Beige.
48:19Beige.
48:21You know, it's just boring.
48:24I think there was a cereal once called All Brown.
48:26Yours is All Bland, I think.
48:27Anyway, answer me about where is the link
48:30between the Arctic and the tropic fruits?
48:34I didn't really think about the link, if I'm honest.
48:36The other options were actual.
48:37No, you clearly didn't think of the link.
48:39Yeah, I do think it was a right idea.
48:41And I think if we played more with the branding,
48:44using snowflakes and, you know, like that frozen bowl,
48:48and to just tell the story a little bit more.
48:51One of the things that we're talking about
48:53at six to eight years old
48:54is that they don't like to be treated
48:57as six to eight-year-olds.
48:59And your dancing thing
49:02was really two to four-year-olds.
49:05On the morning meeting of the second day,
49:06I was... I've got a nine-year-old.
49:09I did say in front of everyone,
49:11I did think that the character and the video
49:14was aimed more towards Sam's kind of child's ages.
49:19Everyone disagreed, and my stance on that was,
49:21look, let's wait and see what the consumer research says.
49:23I do back it, the dance.
49:25I know you took the risk on it,
49:26but I do feel like it was a lot...
49:28It was more interesting.
49:28Unfortunately for you, the retailers didn't back it.
49:30No.
49:31I mean, we've always heard this expression
49:34from all you young people
49:36on thinking outside the box.
49:39In this particular case,
49:40you have to think about what's in the bloody box.
49:43Basically, we're advised
49:45that you normally use 15 grams per 100 grams,
49:48so therefore you needed 45 grams.
49:50You put nine in.
49:51That's right, yeah.
49:52Well, no wonder it didn't taste of anything.
49:54I took the responsibility to make sure
49:55our product was more palatable,
49:57and I will take responsibility for that decision,
49:59without doubt.
50:00You know, it's just all a bit misaligned.
50:02We obviously did run out of time.
50:03OK.
50:04Talking about running out of time,
50:06we're running out of time here.
50:07Who are you bringing back in this boardroom?
50:10Obviously, from a branding point of view,
50:12I'll be bringing back Phil,
50:14purely just because I feel he was quite destructive.
50:16I really don't know.
50:20I really can't pinpoint a second person.
50:23I mean, just from the point of being sub-team leader
50:25and it just being the Arctic theme
50:28and you being in charge of the character as well,
50:30just from that point of view as well,
50:31I'll be bringing more of that as well.
50:34Even though I did exactly what you asked me to do...
50:36Honestly, I can't make up my mind
50:39just from a business, pure business point of view.
50:42For me, Sam, just because we run out of time,
50:44you're bringing me back, right?
50:44I just think Phil...
50:46Let's not argue about it now, right?
50:49So, you two chaps go back to the house
50:52and Flo also.
51:00You three step outside.
51:01I'm going to talk to Karen and Tim
51:04and then I'm going to call you back in.
51:06We're going to have a final chat
51:07and decide which one of you
51:10is going to be leaving the process today, OK?
51:21So, Karen, give me some opinion here, Sam.
51:24What do you think?
51:26So, you've got a terrible brand
51:27and a terrible product.
51:29You've got to look at the project manager.
51:31Mm, yeah.
51:32And Moira?
51:33Moira's responsible for the character.
51:35All the retailers felt it was too young
51:37for the target market
51:38and that was a big mistake.
51:39Phil, what have you got to say about him?
51:42Well, look, my biggest complaint about Phil
51:44is that he decided to go against the expert advice
51:48and use such little flavouring
51:50that the product was completely tasteless.
51:54OK, well, interesting.
51:56Can you send the three candidates in, please?
52:15Phil, tell me, I mean, I'm sorry to keep rubbing it in.
52:19That's fine.
52:19But you've been sitting here for six weeks
52:22and you've lost six times.
52:24Why?
52:24Lord Sugar, I've lost six times.
52:25Then let's send in a message.
52:27There's not one person who has ever said,
52:29I am responsible for the failure of this task in six weeks.
52:31I'm absolutely not a disruptor.
52:33I understand you wanted to be project manager in this task
52:35and I feel like from the offset,
52:37you knew what you wanted to do
52:39and it was hard for me to manage you.
52:42That's what it boiled down to
52:43and it wasted a lot of time
52:44and I feel like that was a massive contributor
52:46to not adding what we needed on the packaging.
52:48Oh, I feel as if I was being very respectful
52:50and trying to do as you asked me,
52:51but you are giving me a response.
52:52You are just a bit of control group.
52:53So you think I'm a disruptor?
52:54Yeah, I do think you disrupt me.
52:56I think that message has come across.
52:58Yeah.
52:59Maura, let me ask you a question.
53:01The main theme of this task
53:03was based upon the Arctic, right?
53:05Yeah.
53:06Why weren't you the project manager then?
53:08Because someone with children
53:09I felt would be a bit better at it
53:11because I don't have children.
53:12I also feel that it's a little bit of a scapegoat
53:14to say that, you know, you went with my idea, Sam.
53:17In hindsight, yeah, I shouldn't have let Verdi direct.
53:21I shouldn't have went with the dance
53:23but I trusted in Paul when he said
53:25the dance was absolutely relatable to that age.
53:28So I do feel...
53:29OK, take a breath.
53:30What do you want to say?
53:31I didn't use you as a scapegoat for one.
53:33The reason I did make the decision in the end,
53:34purely based off the fact
53:36that you were a sub-team leader
53:37and there were a lot of comments
53:39about the character not being suitable to age.
53:41That's as...
53:42It was as simple as that.
53:44Hmm.
53:45So, um...
53:47Who do you think should be fired then, Sam?
53:49From my point of view, I would say Phil.
53:53Purely because he's had a lot of opportunities
53:55to prove himself and he still hasn't
53:57and I think that's just a...
53:59Fair comment, Phil.
54:00What do you got to say about that?
54:01I've worked with six different teams
54:03on six different tasks
54:04and not one person has ever said,
54:05I'm the failure of the task.
54:07The reason I am here...
54:08Someone has now, haven't they?
54:09Yes, I'm strong and I'm assertive
54:10but I'm trying to take risks.
54:12I'm trying to make decisions
54:13that will help the team win the task.
54:14I'm not just trying to...
54:15So she'll be fired then?
54:17Unfortunately, Sam should be fired
54:18because I don't think she was a good team.
54:20Who do you think should be fired?
54:21I'm just on this task.
54:22Unfortunately, it's Sam
54:23just because there was no cereal bowl on the box.
54:25But the reason I didn't get the cereal box on there
54:28is because I did feel disrupted
54:30and I don't doubt for a second
54:31that you're trying to do it for a good reason.
54:33Sam, what have you took responsibility for,
54:35positively, on this task?
54:36Look, I've had enough.
54:38I'm going to summarise now.
54:40And in doing so,
54:42I don't want to hear any more from anybody.
54:45Sam, the buyers all said
54:47that the product would not stand out
54:50on a supermarket shelf.
54:52That's why they didn't buy any.
54:55Phil, when it came to the flavour,
54:58it's very simple.
54:59It didn't have any.
55:00And that's on you.
55:03Maura, you were responsible for the character
55:05and it was too young.
55:07And that is firmly your responsibility.
55:10100%.
55:11Phil, you know,
55:13I can't get over the fact
55:15that somebody has fouled so much in this process.
55:20And for that reason, Phil,
55:22you know, I've got to seriously think about
55:24your position in this process.
55:29Sam, I admire your honesty
55:32and I can tell that, you know,
55:34you get on with everyone.
55:35And that is a good virtue in business.
55:39However, the kids
55:40found the cereal
55:43boring and bland.
55:46So, it is with sincere regret
55:50that you're fired.
55:53Thank you, Lord Sugar.
55:54Go home to the two babies, all right?
55:56Make sure you come round for a cuppa.
55:59So, Maura, I haven't seen much from you.
56:12Please give me the opportunity.
56:13No, Sue, will you be quiet?
56:15Sorry.
56:16I don't know you.
56:18Samora,
56:19you are going to be
56:22the next project manager
56:25of the next task.
56:26Thank you, Lord Sugar.
56:26No matter what it is.
56:28Okay?
56:30Go back to the house, you two.
56:33You're going to be the luckiest man on this earth,
56:35I'm telling you.
56:48I was completely nuttling myself
56:50throughout the whole process
56:51and Lord Sugar saw that.
56:54His comments at the end
56:54meant more to me than anything
56:56and I completely went out on a high
56:58and I get to go home to my babies now.
57:01I do feel that Sam will come back.
57:06With Phil,
57:07obviously, we've got to remember
57:08he is on six losses as well,
57:10so Lord Sugar will put that in mind,
57:13but he's a fighter,
57:14so I wouldn't be surprised
57:15if he comes back.
57:20Oh, my God.
57:21Well done.
57:22I need to hear this story.
57:31Yeah, intense.
57:32Very intense as usual.
57:33Yeah, such a shame to see Sam go.
57:35But he did look at me as I left
57:37and he went,
57:37you are the luckiest man on this planet.
57:39Wow.
57:40Yeah, but before he did that,
57:41he was like,
57:42Maura,
57:43I don't really know you.
57:46You're a project manager
57:47on the next task.
57:48Oh, really?
57:49Nice one.
57:50I think we're all at risk
57:51of one slip up
57:52and, you know,
57:53you're gone.
57:57Now,
57:5811 candidates remain.
58:00The fight to become
58:01Lord Sugar's next business partner
58:04continues.
58:07Next time...
58:08Your task is to set up
58:10a bespoke tour.
58:12Tour guides...
58:13You can take a sip.
58:14Let's just take a moment
58:15to feel the earth.
58:17Fun rides...
58:18Buddha, Buddha, Buddha, Buddha!
58:20Yes!
58:20And in the boardroom...
58:22You were dead in the Danube.
58:24A one-way ticket.
58:26You're fired.
58:28Sam's taking a trip
58:29over to BBC Two now
58:30to chew things over
58:32with Tom Allen
58:32on The Apprentice.
58:33You're fired.
58:35While it's an education
58:36in new coming-of-age
58:38comedy drama,
58:39press Red for Borders
58:40on BBC iPlayer.
58:41I'll see you now and...
59:02you're fired.
