00:00Previously on Project Runway All-Stars.
00:03Your challenge is to design transformational resort wear.
00:07It's gonna be stormy.
00:09I can't see it.
00:11You're so true. You're so great.
00:14Back to the studio.
00:16Wow. I think it's pretty fabulous.
00:19Thanks.
00:20I just don't know anyone who would wear denim pants to the beach.
00:23It's time to really stand out.
00:25Okay.
00:26It's not the most dramatic change.
00:28She's gonna be in trouble.
00:30I'm crazy about it.
00:35I think it's inventive.
00:37The two prints together are genius.
00:39I love the ease in which she was able to transform it.
00:42That's all Star thinking.
00:44The winning designer this week is...
00:46Michelle!
00:50It's a sports bra and a jumpsuit.
00:52That's all it is.
00:53Looks like a bad hoochie knockoff.
00:55All of that rope was completely unnecessary.
00:58Unnecessary.
00:59The eliminated designer is...
01:02Christina.
01:05This is Project Runway All Stars.
01:08Good morning.
01:09Morning.
01:10I can't believe there are only five season winners left in this competition.
01:23It's getting very competitive and that's how it should be.
01:27Everybody wants to win.
01:29Everyone is competition because if you don't look at it that way then you're only setting yourself up for a surprise.
01:37You guys are really on a roll.
01:39So are you ready for what's coming next?
01:41Yes.
01:42It's time to meet someone who's been following and supporting your careers since your first appearance on Project Runway.
01:48Even you Bedell.
01:49From afar.
01:50Okay.
01:51She is New York fashion royalty.
01:54And she's just returned from her latest adventure.
01:57Here she comes.
01:59Oh my God.
02:00Hello designers.
02:01Welcome back to All Stars.
02:03Holy .
02:04Nina Garcia is here.
02:05I've watched Nina Garcia on Project Runway ever since episode one and I always agree with her.
02:17If Nina Garcia says it's good, it's good.
02:19I know Nina's very tough.
02:21She's very particular.
02:22That is so scary to me.
02:24Designers, it's so exciting this all winners season.
02:28I've had a little break and I've just come back from a very inspirational trip to Thailand.
02:35Oh.
02:36I was surrounded by the beauty of the landscape, the generosity of the people and the splendor of the art and culture.
02:44One thing that really impressed me was the colorful silks they used in their garments.
02:50Sounds like an amazing experience and it also sounds like you have a challenge up your sleeve.
02:55Indeed I do.
02:57Your challenge is to create a gown for a royal ball.
03:02Oh Jesus.
03:03And these locations are very glamorous.
03:06So your gown must be made of luxurious silks.
03:10Designers, we want to see the most luxurious gowns to ever appear at a royal ball.
03:16So your budget for mood is $300 each and there's a prize for this week's winner.
03:22I am working with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to send the winning designer on a trip to Thailand.
03:29What?
03:31I've never been to Thailand and so it would be really, it would be freaking awesome.
03:35That sounds amazing.
03:36So Nina will be joining the judging panel tomorrow to see your silk ball gowns.
03:41I love Nina Garcia.
03:43When she gives you a critique, she doesn't kind of sugarcoat it or anything.
03:47Good luck.
03:49Good luck, designers.
03:50Can't wait to see it.
03:51Oh my gosh, that was Nina Garcia.
03:54I'm so excited to meet Nina and I'd love to just see what she thinks.
04:09Even if she told me she thought it was the ugliest thing she ever saw, I'd be like, she just said that.
04:14She just had an opinion about my stuff.
04:16She actually cried at my finale.
04:18She cried when she saw my dad crying.
04:20Oh.
04:21Well, not cried.
04:22She teared up.
04:23Let's not get crazy.
04:24Right.
04:25When I think of a royal ball gown, I think, how do I make a ball gown modern and fresh?
04:31I definitely know I want to put a corset in it and then the bottom I want to make really light and I want to create this pleated gathered trim that I'm going to
04:39applicate, but I want to keep it light and transparent.
04:42What color are you thinking, Dima?
04:44Black.
04:45Block.
04:46I'm all the colors, prints.
04:48Yes.
04:49You're ready to go back to your...
04:50To my nature.
04:51Back to black.
04:54I want to make something not very traditional, so I'm kind of experimenting with these applications
05:01and I want to create these flowers that have some dimension to it and I want to make this gown look kind of young and funky and cool.
05:10All right, guys, y'all ready to go to the mood?
05:12Woo!
05:13Go shop for some silks.
05:14Ladies first.
05:15Oh, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho.
05:20All right, guys, 30 minutes to shop.
05:23Get your lovely silks.
05:25Where are the gazaars?
05:26We're all in the silk section, but I think we're all going for different silks, luckily, and it looks like we're all going for different colors.
05:32It'd be nice to see sort of a colorful, different runway.
05:36In a red, a dark red.
05:38I need a color that's very, very powerful, and I find this perfect rose red.
05:43So I'm creating a silhouette where it's going to float above and over her shoulders.
05:48Then it's going to come in really tight to the waist, and then it's going to hover out and accentuate her hips.
05:53I'm covering this insane silhouette in texture.
05:57It's going to be chic as .
05:59I'm feeling all of that.
06:00My inspiration is kind of 1970s meets neon.
06:04I'm not going to give a pretty puffy ball gown.
06:07I want to give something that's graphic and unique, playing with different silks and layering them to create kind of a graphic print of my own.
06:15Uh, yard and a half of each of those?
06:19My girl's not invited to the ball.
06:21Let's just put it that way.
06:22But I think the whole point of this challenge is to spin it and make it your own.
06:26So I'm playing with this idea of feathers.
06:29I'm kind of creating this ombre effect with the feathers.
06:33Almost like you took a drop of watercolor and it started to fall down the fabric.
06:36All right, guys.
06:37Five minutes left.
06:38What happened to my fabric?
06:40Should I throw some fringe out there for Sean?
06:44I've been dying to make this dress and Nina Garcia's going to see it.
06:48She's going to love it.
06:49She loves drama.
06:50Well, she's getting it.
06:51All right, guys.
06:52That's time.
06:53$300.
06:54Look at that.
06:55Paula.
06:58Have a great day.
06:59Can't wait to see your color.
07:00Yeah, me too.
07:01Girl, you got three bags?
07:02Well, one bag is just fluff.
07:03It's a tool.
07:04I know a tool.
07:05I'm going to stop by to shop with you.
07:06Great.
07:07I'll charge you triple.
07:08Look at all that.
07:09Right?
07:10I pull all the stuff out of my mood bag and I realize that I really just screwed myself big time.
07:15None of it goes.
07:16There's not enough of anything to do one single dress out of it.
07:19Puzzle time.
07:20Now you cut it all up and put it all together.
07:21I'll try.
07:22I mean, I'll try.
07:23I'll try.
07:24I'll try.
07:25I'll try.
07:26I'll try.
07:27I'll try.
07:28I'll try.
07:29I'll try.
07:30I'll try.
07:31I'll try.
07:32I'll try.
07:33I'll try.
07:34I'll try.
07:35I'll try.
07:36I'll try.
07:37I'll try.
07:38I'll try.
07:39I'll try.
07:40I'll try.
07:41I mean, I would never pick the colors Michelle would pick.
07:42Her color choices to me are almost like Sherration, Starburst candy, but that's a Michelle.
07:49Oh.
07:50I see you're using some Pinking Shears, eh?
07:51Pinking...what?
07:52Pinking Shears.
07:53Oh, that's the proper name for it?
07:55I call it a zigzag Scissors.
07:56A zigzag Scissors.
07:57I can't really tell what Dimitri's doing.
08:01I know that he's doing an applique kind of like how I'm working.
08:06more geometric and he's doing this kind of floral motif so many of our
08:18challenge have been fancy dress challenge you know red carpet night out
08:23it's getting to me I'm sure everyone knew like there's gonna be an evening
08:27wear challenge a gown challenge a ready-to-wear challenge like I wasn't
08:31walking around the room saying oh this is a ready-to-wear challenge this is not
08:34my specialty so like let me cry myself a river man you whipped up that corset
08:39like that girl you do a corset already yeah first thing she did you're so fast
08:44like it's sort of implying like oh yeah this just comes so easily to you I'm
08:48like no my first gown like I had no idea how to make Irina is not using a hundred
08:53percent silk she's using netting and tulle which if I would have put my fabrics on
08:58netting and tulle it'd be a whole lot more successful
09:02so there's only five of us left and the workrooms very somber to be presented
09:08with a challenge that is so against what I do it's difficult to kind of step back
09:14and look at it objectively and say okay what can I do that has an impact that is
09:20still me how you doing feather boy all right trying to just get all those done
09:26so I can move on Anthony Ryan is one of my closest friends here and today he's
09:33really quiet and he's really reserved and I think he's having a hard time and
09:39struggling what you trying to figure out um what colors to use that'll have like really ugly impact
09:47in the best way this competition's tough and I'm trying my best to say in a good mental space because
09:58what I'm gonna do is gonna be something totally me but not traditional ball gown it looks like the
10:05Taj Mahal yeah I don't really know what Michelle is thinking about her fabric choices but what else
10:10is new I think I'm losing my mind it's not one of those things where you can just go halfway the dress
10:17she's making needs to be seen all the way through which needs to put all that ugly fabric on that
10:20dress immediately in order for it to work it can't be a halfway dress I just need to get this done
10:26it's been taking forever there's so much complaining in the room and everyone's made gowns in that room
10:32it's not like you know they're beginners they've all won seasons we're not newbies like we've all done
10:40a gown what's wrong oh no struggling yeah yeah how you doing I'm working on bad ends now move it on to
10:51the actual dress Anthony and I don't do ball gowns and I think his energy is the same place mine is right
10:58now we're trying to have fun with one another but you can tell that we're struggling it's making my
11:04brain hurt coming up on project runway all-stars it is your specialty so that's gonna make some people
11:12nervous this combination of colors is reminding me of a 1970s kitchen I just don't think it feels very
11:18formal well what is formal royal ball I'm just trying to do something different and probably
11:33really ugly I like when things clash and don't work well together who knows what the judge is gonna think
11:39looks cool yeah it's working out just need to like fit it I think I have an advantage in this because
11:48it's a one-day challenge it's a ball gown and I work really fast I've chosen to work with a silk gazar
11:53it was developed for Cristobal Valenciaga probably a hundred years ago to achieve weightless volume
11:59essentially it's neat though yeah I won't be using any kind of shoulder pad I won't be using any kind
12:05of boning this fabric is designed to go out without any support I think Michelle and Anthony Ryan are
12:12very nervous about this one everyone's nervous but it can't just be like oh cuz it's not my specialty I'm
12:19like super nervous well and also it is your specialty so that's gonna make some people nervous I'm expected
12:25to do something grand and I mean I actually have high expectations for myself too so it's like I don't
12:30want to let anyone else down or myself really how you doing Dean oh I'm all right it's a lot of math
12:37usually I just like schlep things together now it's a mess right now in the workroom I'm like I don't
12:46have enough fabric I have some chiffon I have some like other things I'm just gonna have to piece the
12:52things together you know it's gonna be a bit more different than my original intention but it is what it
12:58is hi designers designers you've done such creative work this season week after week you've turned out
13:08edgy creative high fashion looks and one thing that we haven't seen yet is you guys doing a full-on
13:14ball gown and I know silk can be tricky to work with so for both those reasons I'm really excited to
13:19see what you guys are doing so far how about your luck I just wanted to work with some silk as are you
13:27can really create these weightless shapes I want it to kind of be floating around her and what do you
13:33mean floating around her how is this this is gonna be out here and then I'm gonna tuck it up and in
13:38here it almost creates this like rose effect through the hip and then also with the shoulder here we get
13:43these great shadows with the silk I think it's really pretty and not quite edgy yet the minute
13:49you did that with the hip I thought oh right so welcome to crazy town what's going on here I wanted
13:54to play with some odd color combinations how surprising right I don't expect that from you just to make it a
14:00little more striking and a little more like a piece of art as opposed to something that I wouldn't
14:04normally do which would be a big ball gown I think you're so bold you choose such crazy colors
14:10sometimes yeah and you go for it and most of the time it works yeah this combination of colors is
14:15reminding me of a 1970s kitchen so I just want to make sure that it doesn't read vintage it's elevated
14:21to high fashion and there's no catch I think it's yeah it's gonna be an editing thing and thinks my
14:26gown is a 1970s kitchen gone wrong I see it too but I don't have anything else like there's nothing I
14:32can do at this point either have to push it super hard and hope it works or she's naked arena you
14:41have designed ball gowns in the past haven't you yeah do you feel this is your challenge I feel like
14:46people think I have an advantage but it's all hard work I'm sort of annoyed with everyone just like
14:52constantly saying it like it's like oh like I snap my fingers and this just happens so how do you
14:57feel you're able to blend ball gown and fashion in this town so I sort of want to do like a modern
15:02sexier version on a ball gun where you see some leg and skin peeking through I mean the shape right
15:09now is a classic sort of pageant look right you know it's Nina Garcia's critiquing you right always
15:14looking for that editorial edge I want to make sure this belongs on the runway and not on the top of a
15:18wedding cake got it tell me about your ball gown well I wanted to create something maybe not very
15:25traditional something a bit more raw I am experimenting with this kind of appliques I
15:31think it's a cool-looking dress I just don't think it feels very formal well what is formal you know it
15:36doesn't get much more formal than a royal ball yes but I think doesn't have to be traditional that's
15:42for sure I hear you Dimitri I just hope the judges agree and has some valid points for Dimitri it's
15:47really not even close to a ball gown but I think he's at least trying to make it floor-line so he can at
15:53least fulfill some requirements of the challenge how are you feeling about this challenge it's not
16:00in my wheelhouse for sure so I'm trying to find a balance what's going on today I don't know it's
16:09we're getting towards the end I think Anthony Ryan has lost his spirit I don't want to see him go home
16:15or myself go home because this is not something that we do you know Bedell makes gowns Dimitri makes
16:20gowns and of course Irina makes a lot of gowns and you know Anthony Ryan's gonna come up with
16:25something and I'm wondering why he's questioning himself so much so what's going through your mind
16:29today my point of view I guess describe your girl again you've done it before you know exactly who
16:35she is and think about her going to yeah a really great party and what she would want to wear she's
16:41easy it's effortless it's one zip and off you go there's something very easy and elegant about this I
16:47know it's just the beginning of something right I really love what this does on the white so I
16:51think I've kind of solidified that so I would say keep going okay but you might have to pick up the
16:55pace a little bit I will definitely have to figure out I want to give you a hug yeah yeah having a tough
17:01day yes I think and telling me I was on to something just kind of reaffirmed what I was believing and it
17:08was nice to kind of have that second voice telling me that designers I can see the dilemma you're all
17:14having today ball gowns do not traditionally read high fashion and that's why it's such a good
17:19challenge but if anyone can do it then you all-star winners can do it so my advice would be that if
17:25you're lost just think about your client who you know so well and channel her going to a royal ball so
17:33good luck thank you thank you Zima how did it go uh it went okay I mean she said it's cool but is it
17:45appropriate looks pretty appropriate to me the rule is there is no rules I want to make something modern
17:52something cool unusual something raw what's the point of making a regular gown I'm not ready for a
18:05feeding so I send my model to the lounge area to rest so I've been struggling a little bit but we'll
18:12have something for you in the morning I ain't got nothing to put on the girl I still got a white piece
18:16fabric and that's it you can go hang out so I don't have anything to fit on you unfortunately nobody
18:23has anything to put on their models except for Bedell and Irina so this time we're not looking to just
18:29stay and we're looking to win waistline of this dress has to fit the rest of it kind of floats away
18:35from her body but it all needs to be secured at her waistline okay so there is an extra can you walk for
18:41me Irina made this beautiful corset but you know she made that corset 5,000 times already so for her
18:47it's nothing all right guys regardless if you've tried something on your model or not time's almost
18:52up fabulous you're all poise in this one bye darling we'll see you then only two more hours left
19:01you see how pretty Anthony Ryan's is long and lean and clean that white chic and effortless and
19:17beautiful yeah I like the caftan kind of take on a ball gown dress I think what's beautiful about a
19:23caftan is its simplicity and that anyone can kind of just throw it on and like look elegant isn't it
19:28pretty I'm officially impressed what Bedell did in the short amount of time that we have with that
19:34difficult fabric with the manipulation that he did with creating that cool silhouette he worked his ass
19:40off my point of view it's gorgeous like stunning yeah yeah well thanks guys people are like damn
19:48that's a good dress Bedell it's nice to hear it I feel like I've been a threat to a lot of the
19:52designers in this competition I've only been in the bottom once and the fact that I got some compliments
19:56on this dress tells me it's a really good dress because they wouldn't just say that hey guys only
20:0015 minutes left and we only have an hour and a half tomorrow hour and a half in the morning
20:04this is the ugliest thing I've made I made a crafty nightmare like I just ended up buying the worst
20:13fabrics ever everything is going so wrong and there's no way I can get out of this without a like a torch
20:20and a match some gasoline all right guys this time just an hour and a half in the morning hope it fits I'm
20:30gonna have to rush rush morning of the runway and it's one of those situations where I have mentally
20:36prepared to go home I'm just gonna get it done and see what happens coming up on project runway all-stars
20:48Demetri's look looks like it got caught in the garbage disposal I mean he went golden girls he's
20:53be arthur-ing this way more lag than you'd ever wear at a ball I know it's beautiful the rest of the
20:58stuff here is crap
21:01so this is the morning of the runway I am running around I'm tired of sitting so I'm like why don't I
21:19run today I mean seriously sorry I couldn't fit in there use mine I will have time to finish I always
21:26spin it it's got bobbins and everything and the brother sewing room I have all the police to touch up
21:32and I'm just rushing to get all my trim onto the gown well this will be a miracle I really really
21:39hate what I'm doing there's no straps there's no ham there's no nothing I like to be humorous in life
21:45and like try to at least have some sort of positive energy and I'm not feeling it one day for the gown it's
21:52like unbelievable I know I hear you I still have a lot to do I've got to fit it on my model I've got
21:59to finish with feathers got to do the hem but overall I think the dress is reading how I want it to may I
22:05have this dance I'm pretty much finished my look so I started to like dance around by myself trying to
22:11get in like the ballroom mindset right is this what they do at balls girl I'll dance when the dress is
22:16done we've seen designers in previous seasons that are just fast but fast don't mean you got good taste
22:23let's try these earrings this might be a little tight I'm done with the dress and it looks great turn
22:34their own I think Demetrius look looks like it got caught in the garbage disposal the bottom of it
22:40is just tortured to death can you walk for me please girl I've run out of fabric that's no excuse for it
22:47to look like that like I make a lot of old looking things but he makes the women look old I mean he
22:54went Golden Girls and not even like the good like Blanche Devereaux Golden Girls he's be Arthuring this
23:00oh lord heart attack central this is all the ruffle I have so I want to make sure she's covered where
23:06she needs to be covered that looks so freaking great it's so much leg way more leg than you'd ever wear
23:12at a ball so turns out I need to actually undo a little bit of the hem so she can walk a little bit
23:19easier some of it all for anyone else I might make it a little bit looser but for runway I want her
23:27a little tushy to feel just right oh yeah that fits so great too Anthony Ryan makes this gown that
23:33we've seen a bunch and then he puts the fishing lures on and all of a sudden she has a hairy chest
23:39Cinderella I found these killer shoes at the JC Penney accessory wall they're gonna edge up my look
23:45perfectly just walk to that it's a great statement dress for walking in a room and having all eyes
23:51on you yeah this is spectacular how are you love welcome to the butter London makeup and nail studio
23:59Dimitri maybe give her like a smoky eye and then maybe a nude leaf we're gonna take the butter London
24:06eyeshadow and then first kiss I want all the attention on her eyes we're gonna use a little Union
24:11Jack black eyeliner and then we'll frame it with eyeshadow welcome to Umberto Beverly Hills so
24:19it's all about this side I kind of pulling this way yeah you can put a little texture in so we'll
24:25blow the Umberto dry texturizing spray on it I think Bollywood so maybe give her some big over
24:30the top hair pick it out and then we'll finish it up with the Umberto shimmer spray
24:34like this color is really great at least it's colorful not drab there are two really drab sad
24:45things in the room you're really transforming this for me I was having a little bit of a dark morning
24:50this is next level it's so insane but I love it I think I deserve to win this challenge it's good I
24:58don't even know what to say about these other I know it's beautiful the rest of the stuff here is
25:06crap I mean Anthony Ryan's lemon goes where she's wearing a caftan are we back in resort that's what
25:13we did last challenge ten minutes everyone no too much all right let's look at a few more things I
25:24guess if I could find some earrings it's just like floating right off your body I love it perfect
25:30I just like the length there all right guys let's head to the runway let's go see Nina hey oh my god
25:40coming up on project runway all-stars this felt a little tortured I don't understand it looks like
25:50you're at the top it's really dynamite I want to see something that hasn't been done we will have
25:55to go to another planet the winner of project runway all-stars will collaborate with JCPenney on
26:03a capsule collection as part of the project runway line to be sold at select JCPenney stores and
26:08online at jcp.com an editorial and photo spread in Marie Claire magazine and a position as guest editor
26:15for one year the opportunity to create a signature nail color and an inspiring trip for two to London
26:20England from luxury makeup brand butter London a selection of brothers sewing and embroidery
26:25machines valued at $40,000 and to elevate their business and build their brand a cash prize of
26:32$100,000 oh my god I'm so excited I'm so excited this is real true this is not real well I'm glad I did color
26:48so tell me did your mentor and full and wider give you any tips on how to impress Nina Garcia this
27:01week she said keep it editorial keep it you that's probably good advice too your challenge was to create
27:10ball gowns for a royal ball made from luxurious silks let's meet tonight's judges first co-founder and
27:18designer of luxury brand Marquesa Georgina Chapman next one of the most iconic names in American
27:27fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi and our first guest is a living legend she worked on design projects at
27:36the White House for nine different presidents and at 95 years young she is still influencing fashion with a
27:44costume exhibition her own clothing and jewelry lines and a documentary about her extraordinary life
27:51it's a true honor to welcome Iris Apfel our next guest is part of the project runway family her guidance led to
28:03each of you winning your own seasons well except for you Bedell it's project runway judge Nina Garcia
28:12so Nina's work trip to Thailand inspired this challenge and a trip to Thailand is on the horizon for the
28:22winning designer as well as a version of the winning look on jcp.com have a great show thank you
28:29oh dear my look has a movement and has this beautiful graphic effect
28:39I had a rough time piecing that fabric together but it looks beautiful
28:48gorgeous I see the charm and the idea but I don't like the way it moves
28:59all of the thoughts and ideas just aren't translating
29:07it looks great on her the effect works she's going to the cool kid ball
29:20I actually love the yellow so do I
29:25put your passport ready so happy with this dress she's looking regal the movement is beautiful
29:40yeah look at that leg Irina she looks amazing I think she'd be a showstopper anywhere she went
30:00and one of you will be going to Thailand as the winner of this challenge
30:19and one of you will be going home tonight
30:22Anthony Ryan you were up first at first I probably had a little bit of a panic attack when we said
30:32ball gown because that's not necessarily my girl the first thing that came to mind was easy a little
30:37relaxed she wants to feel comfortable but at the same time graphic I think where you started with
30:42this idea of something fresh with the feathers is a really nice idea and it's easy captain I just
30:47think it's your color story there's something very sad about that I'm torn a little on this one okay
30:52I am not quite as torn I don't understand it I just don't for me it makes a really awkward first
30:59impression Iris Apfel welcome it's difficult for me because I look at all these dresses and there's
31:06not one that isn't 65 years too young for me to wear when you have a certain age you have to cover up
31:14and there's a huge market of women who go all over town and not find a dress with a sleeve
31:22anyway I'm a feather girl but I don't know where these feathers come from they don't belong they
31:28look like patches I like feathers when they're feathers thank you Iris Nina I happen to like this
31:35dress this caftan seems very elegant to me I like your dress I don't know if it's appropriate for a royal
31:42ball not it's not no I've never been to a royal ball neither Michelle I wanted to delve into color
31:50mixing odd vibrant colors together and creating something more painterly it could be a very fun
31:58dress for a summer evening but I think it's totally inappropriate I do happen to love the colors however it
32:06feels more like a night in Ibiza that a royal ball I'm sorry but I'm just mad at both of you guys
32:12because to me it's like this fabulous week like it's got it's a ball gown Georgina like to me I want to
32:19think that my darling Michelle can live up to what to me is supposed to be the most fabulous I honestly
32:25did my best in that moment I mean it's okay all right no well I don't hate the colors it's just that
32:31the file and the layering it's just lumpy and oh yeah it doesn't come across you know hi Dimitri I
32:37really thought about how ball gown reflects the modern time and I wanted to create something raw and
32:45easy it's very effortless yes and I love the movement of it but it doesn't feel as dressed up as it
32:52needs to be I disagree I think with a little study it might make it to a regal ball this to me is the most
33:00appropriate dress in the 20s and 30s like Dalton Abbey those yes they would have worn the dress like
33:06that and of course if it had sleeves it would be divine and Irina I love ball gowns and I wanted to
33:13stick to the details that are associated with ball gowns but I really wanted to update it in something
33:18like a young royal gonna wear I love the effect of this dress the way the bodice fits her looks like a
33:25couture dress where you lose me is this idea of a tool that you can see right through eyes it's
33:31right it looks like couture at the top and I do think it's the amount of fabric in the bottom I
33:36think perhaps if you had filled it I love the dress I wish I were young enough to be able to wear
33:42something like that it's really dynamite beautiful dress beautiful bodice incredible work I personally
33:49think it's the most appropriate out of everything we saw today thank you Vidal tell us about your
33:54silk ball gown I had this idea to kind of push a little bit more fashion and ball gown and take
34:00that risk and I've been saying since day one texture and silhouette are things that I'm obsessed with
34:03I love the red I love what she's wearing on her arm it's wonderful it's a ring and a bracelet
34:10would you ever have worn a version of this dress I don't know I think a lot of pleats can be a problem
34:16I like this dress very much and I think it's just extraordinary what everyone's done in 12 hours
34:20my issue is the proportions of that with this big shoulder then with a big hip what you've done with
34:26the gazaar is beautiful but reads very daytime it's not fitted enough on her waist I like that you think
34:33outside of the box and that you took a lot of risks you gave this volume designers thank you for
34:41your work and thank you to your models this is getting so tough for us but we will discuss and
34:47we'll call you back when we're ready
34:58roll couch what a challenge what a challenge it's not necessarily my dream to create a gown for a
35:05challenge let's be real no one was going to make a traditional ballgown does anybody feel like they got a
35:09positive critique irina they just didn't like this year which is yours too I think the three of us I
35:15don't know who's even yeah I think I'm going home Nina welcome back to all stars thank you how does it
35:22feel to watch them progress after all these years I'm very impressed to see their work I think they've
35:27done an amazing job yeah we've had some great designers this year I would like to start with arena
35:33I feel like this was arena's challenge that bodice was really flawless yes she had issues with being
35:39a little sheer on the bottom but that could be resolved that had the grandest effect for me it could have
35:46used a few layers of romance and tulle and stuff underneath the craftsmanship is absolutely there but
35:52at this point she should know that that transparency is over I liked it very much
35:58I wouldn't fall the fact that it was transparent
36:03at least we see a dna whereas with bedell I just don't understand that dress obviously very time
36:10consuming work but you can buy that fabric I've seen that oh no I really appreciate the fact that he did something
36:16risky I love what he did and I disagree that we don't see bedell's dna I think he is very clear
36:23as a designer I thought it was kind of frumpy it was sort of Mary McFadden on a bad night
36:32let's talk about Dimitri I like to meet trees and I like his woman I like the woman he designs for
36:37the mint green lining that was really where it went wrong yeah I did like the detailing on
36:42and Dimitri's dress I've seen this dress I want to see something that hasn't been done we'll have to
36:47go to another planet
36:53let's talk about the shelves look well it didn't look like it was 300 dollars worth
36:58Michelle has been doing this technique all season now it looked like some sort of tapestry project we
37:04like the colors I love the colors for good I love the color when it first came out I thought is
37:10is this a felt challenge it felt like felt very arts and craft
37:16let's talk about Anthony Ryan stress a white crepe dress I mean who wears a white crepe dress
37:22I know and then you're good white but then you're trimming it in this yellow the yellow satin looks
37:28cheap I agree if you're going to do feathers and yellow that might not be a very good combination
37:34and also gray feathers like that they look like pigeons they look dirty they look you know it's
37:43really hard to look at the dresses now because they're all so good they really are all so good
37:50and we're so involved with these personalities and with these talents failing no one's failing big
37:56time right exactly so we know who's gonna win this week's challenge yes and we know who we're gonna
38:02send home okay let's bring them back out designers one of you will be the winner of this week's challenge
38:12and one of you will be eliminated tonight
38:20Dimitri you are safe and through to next week thank you guys thank you you can leave the runway
38:28good luck guys
38:30Bedell and arena one of you will be jetting off to thailand as the winner of this week's challenge
38:36and that designer is
38:46arena wow thank you so congratulations i've always wanted to go thank you i thought he was gonna win
38:54it was very close between the two of you thank you Bedell for your work you are safe you both can
38:59leave the runway thanks thank you it makes me very happy i think the judges are like really seeing my
39:05craftsmanship and really appreciating it so getting close to the end i feel like that's super important
39:13so that leaves michelle and anthony ryan you are both deserving winners of your own season
39:20but only one can remain on all stars and so tonight the eliminated designer is
39:35anthony ryan
39:40that means michelle we will see you next week thank you you can leave the runway
39:45congrats love

40:44my goodness come on no it's fine it was fun getting to know the other designers i hope i brought a little humor it's a pleasure meeting you a little
40:58southern charm i guess good luck thank you good luck gene

41:52i love the concept the best thing on this whole runway it had humor and personality i don't see how they're related in any way
