02:17Welcome to Beyond the Tape.
02:35Welcome to our viewers across Trinidad and Tobago.
02:38I'm your host, Mark Masson.
02:39Welcome to our viewers globally.
02:41And of course, our brothers and sisters in the Isle of Grenada.
02:44It certainly was a very bloody weekend starting off on Friday and not letting up, of course, over the weekend into today as well.
02:53We had at least seven homicides, which brought the figure just over the 200 mark.
02:59Two hundred and two, including the three murders that we registered earlier today.
03:06Two in Moruga and, of course, one in the Heights of Guanapo area.
03:12And, of course, on Friday we had the homicide related to Jeremy Lord in the Matura district,
03:21followed by the shooting death of Riquel Bailey in Arima on Saturday night.
03:27And that was also followed by two shootings yesterday.
03:33One in the, well, Valencia area.
03:36There were at least three other persons who were injured.
03:39A 39-year-old Kevin Paul was identified as the victim.
03:44And then we also had a shooting in the Nelson Street area yesterday evening,
03:49just after 5 p.m.
03:50And that person remains unidentified.
03:53So, certainly a very busy weekend.
03:56And it's a special day for my co-host today, Captain Valance Rambarat of the Hunter Search and Rescue Team.
04:03And we certainly, from the staff here at Beyond the Tape, the producer and the team and myself,
04:09we want to wish you today's birthday a happy 40th birthday.
04:13Did I get the number correct?
04:14Yes, you did.
04:15Mark, so a pleasant good afternoon to everyone.
04:21It's a pleasure again to be on Beyond the Tape and, of course, TV6.
04:25And I had the option today of either going to Heights of Guanapo or actually to search for that person
04:33who we believe body was found today or going to Tobago.
04:38And, well, in both instances, the searches or attempted search were cut short because the body was found in Tobago,
04:48a gentleman who went missing there, and, of course, Kerry Adams, whose body was found.
04:54Well, at this point in time, it remains unidentified.
04:57But I just want to point out to you that Michael is, now, Mark, at the beginning, they did not know where he went.
05:06Right.
05:07It was just an assumption that was made that he went for a swim.
05:11And the fisherfolk in Charlottesville, there, they reached out to us and asked us to get involved.
05:17They went out at sea as well, but early this morning, just about dawn, his body floated up in the Charlottesville area.
05:27So he has been accounted for.
05:30And then, well, of course, the other search could have been for Kerry Adams.
05:35But it was a pretty busy week and weekend for us, Mark.
05:38And I myself, looking at one of the uptick in murders, what I want to say is that for quite a while, we found,
05:48I've been observing that northeast district area, and to me, things had simmered down and things were quiet for a while.
05:55Even with missing persons, Mark, we normally, by June, we get a whole set of missing persons from Arima to Sangre Grande.
06:05And we've seen us slowing down in that.
06:07So I myself was alarmed when, you know, the type of shootings we saw in Grande, where you had, I believe it was four other persons shot.
06:17Yes.
06:17And then you come to Kipi lands in Valencia, where you had three other persons shot.
06:23And it could be some, it's indicative of gang warfare, something we, you know, we thought we had thrown that behind our backs from January.
06:34But it seems to begin to have crept back in.
06:38And I know Eastern Division will be paying attention to that.
06:42But in terms of what we did quickly.
06:44Right.
06:44Let me just say that Melinda Mohamed, it was Mohamed or Rampasar?
06:50Mohamed.
06:51Mohamed, okay.
06:51Melinda Mohamed.
06:54She was beginning to worry us as to her location and whether, you know, she was okay.
06:59And so the team went out and we were able to locate her.
07:03I wouldn't, I don't want to say in what, at what location, but we were able to get out, get out there.
07:10And she was found.
07:11And I was, I was really happy to see that she was alive.
07:14So Melinda Mohamed, age 43, from Pascal Road, Princess Town, she, she, she was, was found.
07:23And as I said, I was really happy to, you know, to see her, to talk to her, you know, and, you know, know that she was alive.
07:32She has problems.
07:33She has issues.
07:35But we were beginning to think that harm may have come her way.
07:38And then we went on to, we have Leslie Morales.
07:43Now, I do have an update on Leslie.
07:47I'm not able to give it to this evening, but I think we would have had some action today.
07:54We know we have a fair idea where he is and hopefully we could locate Leslie.
07:59But we did go out and actively search for Leslie, who is age 42, from the Diego Martin District.
08:06And members of the team were actively involved in searching for him.
08:12And then we come back to this person who is well known on Beyond the Tape, Marlon Henwood.
08:18We received some information on Saturday from a vendor in the Separia District that he's saying that he saw Marlon in the Separia District.
08:30And he pointed to a location in the Cura Road, Separia area.
08:38And the team went out there and spent a considerable amount of time in the Cura Road area.
08:45So, this, what we're seeing here is the search for Marlon Morales, not Leslie Morales.
08:55And you could recognize it was part of it was done on the promenade here in Port of Spain.
09:01And part of the search went elsewhere during the day, right?
09:06And then Marlon Henwood, so we gathered the team quickly.
09:13We went down in the Cura Road area, but we were not able to spot anything there.
09:18So, the team was very active.
09:20And again, we were on two call-outs.
09:23Of course, nothing.
09:24These were all about it.
09:26So, that's basically what happened with us during the week into the weekend.
09:31Well, certainly, I have some sad news, of course, with the discovery of the gentleman in Tobago who went missing at sea.
09:40Yeah.
09:40But also, some good news on the other side there, locating Ms. Mohammed there after some searches were conducted.
09:49But if we have some time, I could speak about the Kerry Adams case.
09:55We received a distress call from the relative, and actually, it was her girlfriend, his girlfriend.
10:04And she indicated that he, Saturday night, she was in Port of Spain, and he went to buy the La Hocketa district fire line.
10:17And just after midnight, she received a call indicating that some persons were holding Kerry Adams, and they were demanding a ransom of $15,000.
10:32She left Port of Spain.
10:33She came to Dabody.
10:35The person told her to stay in contact.
10:39She made the demand at $15,000.
10:41She remained in contact with the person, and actually placed the $15,000 in a white envelope, and they guided her to the Tumpuna Road area in Arima.
10:57And there it was, she dropped off the money.
11:01And she was told to go to Arima Artsy School and pick up Kerry Adams.
11:06And she went there, she was nowhere to be found, and then she contacted us, right?
11:14So what happened was, and then again, the body was discovered today.
11:19Now, there is a link between the body and, now, Kerry Adams' vehicle is missing, right?
11:25And what police found on the scene today was the insurance for that vehicle.
11:31And so there is a link, the relatives, they were unable to see the body, and they have to go to forensic in the morning.
11:38So they will take a look, but from sources within the police service, and those who viewed the body, they did request the picture from us.
11:51And they're pretty much sure that it's Kerry Adams' body that was found.
11:55Yes, and I think I saw the police report.
11:58I'm not sure I would have, we had some images where they found the body in the heights of Guernapu, earlier today, of course, in Aboshi area.
12:08And I think it's a very close friend of him that, my memory serves me right, did identify him as the person that was seen in the bushes there.
12:18Okay.
12:18Really sad, but just before I came on to the program, I was in contact with the relatives.
12:24So they have to go tomorrow to make an official identification.
12:29But I think from everything that is on the table, we could safely say that that body belongs to Kerry Adams.
12:35Yes.
12:36Well, we're hopeful that the perpetrators will be caught in the shortest possible time.
12:42All right, we're going to take a quick look now at our headlines.
14:41Okay.
14:42And this is a young lady who is graduating.
14:44Her father probably is a policeman.
14:47Probably they have a strong daddy daughter relationship.
14:50And I don't think it is only abuse of a police speaker.
14:54If it is that it was removed from a police station for this and there were other reports coming.
15:01Right.
15:02I think I think really when it comes to children and especially all children, if you know, if
15:10they make a request, you know, and it's facilitated, I see no problem with it.
15:14I see no problem.
15:16I don't view it as abuse.
15:19And that's my thought on it.
15:22I mean, if you're a fireman and your son makes a request for Santa Claus to come on the fire brigade.
15:29You know, I think as workers involved in the state sector, we do these things from time to time.
15:37So I see it as something not unpleasant.
15:40I don't think it was an abuse of the police.
15:43And you rightly pointed out.
15:46But the thing is, you know, when police officers on duty, they obviously have a GPS on these vehicles.
15:51Right.
15:52And if you go out of your precinct, of course, they will pick it up.
15:57Yeah.
15:58Especially if you are on duty, then that's all those questions, of course, will be clarified during a proper investigation.
16:05And I have no problem with the investigation.
16:07I just pray and hope that the officer involved, if he has to get a wrap on the risk, no problem.
16:13Yes, indeed.
16:14But I enjoyed seeing the young lady in her graduation ground.
16:18It's a special occasion for her.
16:20And this would have impacted on the happiness of it, but nevertheless.
16:25Yeah.
16:26As you say, you know, there are other people who have different opinions.
16:27I welcome the investigation.
16:28Yeah.
16:29And, you know, the public will see to defend with some people.
16:31Yeah.
16:32So I guess, as you said, we will wait to see what the investigation reveals.
16:36Yeah.
16:37The fullness of that investigation.
16:39And then, of course, the senior superintendent of the Eastern Division raised some concerns about the last couple of violent incidents we had there.
16:51Over the weekend, we had the shooting, the fatal shooting of Kelvin Barlow Paul in the Valencia area.
16:57We also had the homicide in the Matura District on the Friday.
17:00But despite this, the senior superintendent did indicate that they were going to be continuing stepping up their patrols and doing what is necessary to ensure the safety and security of all those persons in the Eastern Division, extremely important.
17:20And he indicated that the Eastern Division's crime trends for the period from January 1st to June 30th, 2025 includes an 8% overall reduction in serious reported crimes.
17:32Right.
17:33An 18% reduction in violent crimes compared to 2024.
17:38And a 53% overall detection rate, up from 44% the previous layer.
17:43And there's been an 8% increase in farm recoveries from the same period in 2024.
17:48Significant gains have been made in Sangigandi, Mayaro, Rio Claro stations through targeted intelligence-led operations, which he has indicated will continue going forward.
17:59Yeah.
18:00And I think members of the public who have been following what's going on in Sandy Grandi, let's say to Valencia and surrounding areas, I think if they're reasonable, they would say that, you know, we've noticed a decline in violent crimes in that area.
18:17Because they were normally making the news every other day in the Eastern District.
18:22And as I said, this is a flare-up.
18:25But I think the police has the wear-it-all, given the SOE experience, and if it's gang activities, to clamp down on it.
18:33I think they know what they have to do to clamp down on it.
18:36Yes, of course.
18:37And, of course, an unrelated incident today, police were called to a forested area of Simon Trace in Moruga, where they found two brothers with gunshot wounds.
18:49They have been identified as 20-year-old Sion Carty and 19-year-old Josiah Carty of St. Mary's Moruga.
18:58So, obviously, we're going to have to wait to find out, you know, what might have been the cause for that.
19:03Right.
19:04And Pui Trace in Moruga is familiar to us.
19:07There was the former state witness, Shumba Charles, he lived at Simon Trace in Moruga.
19:17I think this incident happened just between Pui Trace and Simon Trace there, and there were other murders recently.
19:25Of course, he was killed by the police in the Moruga area as well.
19:30So, we have to see whether, in fact, these murders are linked to anything that is going on in that area.
19:37But, Mark, and if you know Pui Trace, it's a beautiful area, nice residence.
19:41But, you know, there has been some murders in that area.
19:45I don't know if you remember Rico on Pui Trace.
19:48Yes, I do remember the child, yes.
19:50Yeah, the gentleman and the child.
19:52So, I hope, you know, that the police get a handle on these two murders.
19:58All right.

23:17Welcome back to Beyond the Tape.
23:18I'm your host, Mark Bussan.
23:19I'm joined today by Valence Rambarat of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team, the birthday boy.
23:25And I know you're going to give us an update for the month of July.
23:28Yeah, Mark, for the month of July thus far, we've had nine reports of missing persons.
23:34And of the nine, we still have seven.
23:37Well, it's now less than seven.
23:39But as I go through the names with you, we will probably reduce that as we go along.
23:48But for sure, we have Leslie Morales, who is missing.
23:53And based on information received today, I believe by tonight, we should have a location for Leslie Morales.
24:05And that we should be able to locate him by tonight.
24:08I'm confident of what I'm saying based on information that we received today.
24:13My Christina Kato.
24:15We've been dealing with Christina since she's 14 years old.
24:19And each time she goes missing, she would take up the phone and call me.
24:23That was an arrangement we made since she was 14 years old.
24:29And we found her.
24:30Now, Christina, I always question the role of the children's home.
24:36Right?
24:37She is in her home.
24:38Christina has had a tough life as a child.
24:42And, you know, I always tell her, you know, you're running away from the home.
24:48But, you know, it is there you would get help.
24:51But hopefully that she would tell me where she is and she would agree to go back to the home.
24:58But, you know, she has serious problems.
25:03All right?
25:04And we know Christina Kato well.
25:07Yes.
25:08We are working with the Children's Authority to try and locate her once again.
25:13But we are in contact with her.
25:15Mark Ashok Banwari.
25:19When I first heard of the body being found in the Heights of Guanapo today, my mind went to Ashok Banwari.
25:28This is the story.
25:30On the 3rd, I believe the 3rd would have been on maybe Saturday or Friday.
25:35Last Thursday.
25:36Ashok got up.
25:37Last Thursday.
25:38Last Thursday.
25:39Ashok Banwari, originally from Tobago but now lives in Aroka.
25:43He got up to go to do some construction work in Portispeed.
25:48However, on the Wednesday, he sold his vehicle and he had $35,000 in cash on him.
25:58And very early in the morning, someone heard when a car stopped and picked up Ashok Banwari
26:09and said to the person who saw him get into the vehicle that they were going to kill Ashok Banwari.
26:20So that information was passed on to the police.
26:23That is why when I got the news this morning, my first thought was about Ashok Banwari.
26:29So we are working closely with the police on this one and hopefully we could find him alive.
26:37But at this point in time, we have to work with the police and his relatives to try and locate him.
26:44So this is an ongoing case that we are working on currently.
26:48Now, Nicholas Street is from Mova and he has been missing since the 27th and we continue to work with the relatives to try and find Nicholas Street.
27:00We do not believe that any harm has come to him.
27:03But it may be that there are problems and that he has decided to, you know, step away for a while.
27:11And then we have, again, from the Arema District, we have Gaspar William Henry, age 50, and he is from Gopal Avenue in Arema.
27:23We have made no headway in finding him because the report was made late to us.
27:28So we are asking anybody from the Arema District, if you have information on Gaspar Henry,
27:35to please call 799-1453 and try and reach out to us and pass on any information you have about him.
27:44And then we have a young man again, Isaiah Regis.
27:50Isaiah Regis went missing earlier this year.
27:53We were able to locate him, right?
27:55He was placed in our children's home and he has now gone.
27:58He has serious, serious problems.
28:01And this is why I said to you earlier, the issue of children in children's homes, I have been looking at it carefully,
28:10going by what we know and I feel, you know, some work has to be done.
28:16We counsel children.
28:17We counsel Christina Cato, right?
28:20I spoke to Isaiah Regis and I spoke to him the last time we found him.
28:25And to know that he has gone missing from a home, it bothers me, right?
28:30So I think, you know, we need to know what's going on in some of these children's homes.
28:35And I'm frank and blunt about that, all right?
28:39And then we have Kerry Adams.
28:41Well, we dealt with Kerry Adams from Red Hill, Davidee.
28:44Yes.
28:45So we now have six outstanding persons for July.
28:50Well, we're hopeful that anyone with information about the persons that are still missing that you will contact the Hunter's Search and Rescue at 799-1453 with any kind of information.
29:03And, you know, as you talk about those homes, there's always disturbing information at times coming out from those homes.
29:10How these children are treated, there's always a question of that.
29:13And, you know, that's why sometimes some of them resort to running away.
29:17Yeah.
29:18But I'm not saying that is the only reason why they leave.
29:20But it's one of those kinds of reasons where, you know, they have been mistreated in some way or they feel slighted in some way.
29:27Yeah.
29:28And they find some refuge out of that home.
29:31Yeah.
29:32And I think, I believe, I know the children's authority well.
29:37What are the structures, the systems they have in place, right?
29:42And I feel that if additional resources could be pumped into these children's homes, I would support that as well as highly qualified personnel to treat with these children's issues.
29:56Because, you know, sometimes you're seeing Christina at 17 and you're seeing her at 17.
30:02But at the end of the day, the law classifies them as a minor, right?
30:07And I think every effort should be made to invest in our children, no matter what.
30:14They have problems, we can't change that.
30:16But what we could do is invest resources and time in them to try for them to change and make a better life for themselves later on.
30:27All right.
30:28Well said.
30:29All right.

31:33Whatever you're here for, we're here for you.
31:34Stay smart at the Holiday Inn Express and Sweets.
34:09What do you think could be done differently in the community that you live in to make it a safer one?
34:37Two questions.
34:57it's going to escalate in a time that you're going to run in a business place
35:01because your friends are snatching the purse, anything was easy
35:03but let me try it in a boy
35:05and when you get to the nice way
35:07your level of crime
35:09going to escalate higher
35:11and higher until time each other
35:13voice of the people
35:20and I want you to just hold your comments
35:21just for a bit on that
35:23because we have a call on the line
35:24call a good evening
35:27good evening, call a
35:29good afternoon, ma
35:30good afternoon
35:31to the goodly gentleman
35:33the last 50 years show up, ma
35:35where the gentleman really hacked
35:36that missing
35:37I just want to report that he was found
35:41he was found dead
35:43he was kidnapped
35:46and the paid $15,000 ransom for him
35:49and the found him dead
35:50have a blessed evening
35:51sorry to hear that news
35:52alright, so I think we addressed that earlier
35:56so that we'd, in a discussion that is carried out
36:00he was found
36:02yes, so obviously, you know
36:05we still appreciate the call
36:07and the information
36:08but we were also told about it
36:11but yes, as we were getting
36:12I marked the voice of the people
36:13you know, the gentleman made some salient points
36:16yeah, well, I thought the point he started off by saying trade
36:19and Mark, over the years
36:21we've had changes in education
36:23right
36:23and there was one time
36:25the thinking was that
36:26children too young
36:29and the age to determine
36:32whether, what career they want
36:34should be 18
36:35and there was a shift in the secondary school system
36:38where they
36:39you had the tech voc
36:42you had the tech voc classes
36:45in the secondary schools
36:46and that was
36:48that was removed
36:50and replaced with something called
36:52CVQ
36:53and the thinking now really
36:55is that
36:56we should get back
36:57to the technical vocational
36:59classes
37:01in the secondary schools
37:02and I support that 100%
37:05I was against the removal of it
37:08because we saw the benefits
37:10we were seeing
37:11young boys and girls
37:13coming out with skills
37:14whether it's drafting skills
37:16metal work skills
37:17wood work skills
37:19plumbing
37:20and we were seeing these young people
37:23getting out there at age
37:2516 and 17
37:26and becoming young apprentices
37:29in workshops
37:30and really developing
37:32and honing their skills
37:34and going on to hold
37:36good sustainable jobs
37:38in the industry sector
37:42and the gentleman
37:45he knows what he's talking about
37:47so it mustn't just be
37:49must and hype program
37:50get it back in the secondary schools
37:52and the second point
37:53he made that I thought was
37:55so true
37:57was when he referred to the phone
37:59as the eye of Satan
38:01and this is coming from somebody
38:03who would have thought about
38:05you know
38:06phones
38:06and
38:07and really
38:09we've discussed
38:10I think this
38:11at the school level
38:13but in terms of adults
38:14phones
38:15could be misused
38:16and used for a lot of things
38:18and maybe it's ease of communication
38:22that has us
38:22with this crime problem
38:24but he did see the phone
38:26and I agree with him
38:27it could be used for the good
38:28he said
38:29the good
38:29the bad
38:30and the ugly
38:31right
38:32and you and I support
38:33the good use
38:35of our phones
38:36not the bad
38:37and the ugly
38:38indeed
38:39all right
38:39we have another call
38:40on the line
38:41caller good evening
38:42yeah good evening
38:43sir
38:43thanks for taking my call
38:45you and the guy there
38:47from the
38:47the captain
38:49good afternoon
38:50to you all
38:51good day sir
38:51I want to make
38:52I want to make a contribution
38:54reference
38:55that
38:55police incident
38:57where the young lady
38:58was attending
38:59the graduation
39:00the pump
39:00that kind of thing
39:01I think that is
39:03what I will call
39:04good news
39:05good news
39:06I will say that
39:07I classified it as good news
39:08I don't know why
39:10who
39:11showed it in a negative way
39:12I remember
39:14about 10 years ago
39:15I was a former member
39:16of the defense force
39:17and I remember
39:18two police officers
39:20I'm sorry I never took them in
39:22I was outside
39:23in mass camp
39:23after visiting
39:24after work
39:25and dancing
39:25and things
39:26and they didn't have my car
39:28with me
39:28and those two police
39:30asked me
39:30come and came up to me
39:31and I'm saying
39:32where are you looking
39:33for transport
39:34I said yes
39:35I said
39:35I'm going to use a tongue
39:35I'm going to come
39:36because I've been told
39:36I'm already
39:37and those two police
39:39officers
39:39who I always
39:40were having my thoughts
39:41brought me straight home
39:43and went on
39:43and that was there
39:44and that was a good news
39:45I shared it
39:47with friends in New York
39:48so that incident
39:49I wanted
39:51to say this morning
39:52make a cry
39:52and call to the commissioner
39:53for me
39:54treat for this
39:55as the gentleman
39:56they said
39:56have it investigated
39:57but do not come down
39:59too hard
40:00and these two police officers
40:01if they did a good
40:02for the citizens
40:03that was a good
40:05we are good news
40:06I saw the young lady
40:07to look most
40:08magnificent
40:09beautiful young lady
40:10I am saying
40:11do not treat it
40:12and throw them
40:13under the bus
40:14because to satisfy
40:15anybody who have
40:17any unwanted thing
40:18but thank you very much

42:49Valance Ramberat
42:51of the Hunter Sitch
42:52and Rescue Team
42:53I will just mix you up
42:54with your apologies
42:55but you know
42:56we were talking about
42:57this story
42:58you know
42:58Top Cop Odds Probe
43:00into the fact that
43:01you know
43:01a police vehicle
43:02chopped off a young lady
43:03at her graduation
43:04and we know
43:05it was going to
43:06at some point
43:07somebody was going
43:07to call in here
43:08and say
43:08you know
43:09they kind of like
43:12agreed with you
43:13yeah yeah
43:13and I thank the caller
43:15you know what Mark
43:17graduation has changed
43:20from the time
43:21both you and I graduated
43:23right
43:23and there's a little bit
43:25of competition
43:26amongst the students
43:27right
43:27I follow it closely
43:29remember
43:29I'm a now retired principal
43:31so I follow it closely
43:32still
43:33and you know
43:34the young lady
43:35you know
43:36her father probably
43:37is a police officer
43:38or uncle
43:38you know
43:39and say
43:39well you know
43:40I'm going to ask them
43:41because I want it to be
43:42a special memory for me
43:44is I finished
43:45probably secondary school
43:46education
43:47wanted to be a special memory
43:50and as a principal Mark
43:52I learned it very early
43:53you know
43:54don't disappoint students
43:55at all
43:56use what
43:57use their creativity
43:58understand what they want
44:00and try and reach out to them
44:02try and make
44:03both the parent
44:04and the child happy
44:05and I support it
44:06I do not believe
44:07it is the abuse
44:08of the police vehicle
44:10now that is a big issue
44:11yes
44:12right
44:12and I do not support
44:14the abuse
44:15of police vehicles
44:17I believe
44:19that you know
44:20that is an issue
44:21but in this case
44:22I could turn a blind eye
44:24to this one
44:25well we have
44:25we have had a couple instances
44:27in the past
44:27where vehicles were abused
44:29where we had actually
44:31a civilian driving a police vehicle
44:32yes I remember that
44:33about a year
44:34or two years ago
44:35I remember that
44:36yes
44:36so in that capacity
44:38of yours
44:38I agree with you
44:40so I agree
44:40that the commissioner
44:41should investigate it
44:43and you know
44:44if the lady gentleman
44:45get a little rap on this
44:46and I will be happy
44:47but you know
44:49abuse of police vehicle
44:50is an issue
44:52in Trinidad
44:52and to be good
44:53Mark
44:54we spend a lot of money
44:55on police vehicles
44:56because they are expensive
44:57we just spent
44:58a lot of money
44:58we just spent
44:59and then remember
45:00you have to outfit
45:01these vehicles
45:02special purpose
45:03for policing
45:04so that's a whole
45:05sort of money
45:06install radios
45:07and whatever communication
45:08you spoke about GPS
45:10so it costs the taxpayers
45:12a lot of money
45:13and taxpayers
45:14like myself
45:15and I guess you
45:16we want to know that
45:17because
45:18first of all
45:20fully functional
45:21and secondly
45:22you know
45:24use wisely
45:25yes
45:26alright
45:27so you know
45:28a lot of people
45:29actually we have a caller
45:31on hold
45:31caller good evening
45:32good evening
45:35good evening
45:35caller
45:36hi
45:37pleasant
45:38good evening
45:40good evening
45:40caller go ahead
45:41very entertaining
45:44I know you were
45:46on the streets
45:47in
45:47Saman
45:49asking questions
45:50about you know
45:51youth and crime
45:51and
45:52my take about this
45:54is that
45:54we need to set up
45:56something
45:57very very soon
45:58I mean
45:59we are
45:59we say that
46:01we want to deal
46:02with crime
46:02however
46:03you know
46:04the different
46:04persons
46:05have to be
46:06put on our board
46:07they have
46:08you know
46:08school violence
46:10has been going on
46:11for quite some time
46:12and I know
46:14Mr. Bassant
46:15you would have had
46:16a gentleman
46:17Portwell Shavady
46:19who I think
46:20is very instrumental
46:21you know
46:23in dealing
46:24and assisting
46:25you know
46:26in terms of
46:27crime
46:27youth and crime
46:28especially in
46:29schools
46:29you know
46:30we really need
46:31to treat with it
46:32and
46:32sir the
46:34gentleman
46:35search and rescue
46:37I would have
46:38met you sometime
46:39very good soul
46:41and you continue
46:41to do the good job
46:42that you are doing
46:43thank you
46:44thanks a lot
46:46caller
46:46you know
46:47certainly she
46:47she's right
46:48when she talks
46:48about you know
46:49that advent
46:50of school violence
46:51and finding
46:52the right
46:52remedy
46:53the right mix
46:54as you said
46:55it's just not
46:56the police's job
46:57but the teachers
46:58the educators
46:59everybody
46:59and of course
47:01the youth club
47:01yeah the police
47:02youth club
47:03because I do follow
47:04Corporal Shavady
47:05and the work
47:06they do down
47:07in the Gomartin
47:08so these police
47:09youth clubs
47:10and they do
47:12good work
47:13with young people
47:15listen
47:16if it is
47:18Trinidad
47:19and Tobago
47:19doesn't get together
47:21and you know
47:21you know
47:22support the youth
47:23and provide
47:24opportunities
47:25for growth
47:26and development
47:27we'll reap
47:28the whirlwind
47:29and as
47:30as citizens
47:31we have to
47:32always say
47:33what can I do
47:34to help the youth
47:35and that's why
47:36we are there
47:36in Umar
47:37because remember
47:38I spoke earlier
47:39about counselling
47:40Christina Keto
47:41and Isaiah Regis
47:43right
47:44that is work
47:45that I do
47:45I spent two hours
47:46on the phone
47:47probably talking
47:48to them
47:48right
47:49and we all
47:51have to contribute
47:52now she spoke
47:53about opportunities
47:55right
47:56I agree
47:57with the sense
47:58that jobs
48:00are tough
48:01to combine
48:02now
48:02especially in the
48:03state sector
48:04you could almost
48:05rule that out
48:06in terms of
48:07sustainable
48:08well-paying jobs
48:09because you know
48:10the revenue
48:11is what it is
48:12the private sector
48:14should come on board
48:15and see you know
48:16what it could do
48:17to at least
48:19get some of
48:20our youth
48:20employees
48:21mark
48:2218,000
48:24children
48:24turn 18
48:26every year
48:27and where are
48:27the jobs
48:28for them
48:28indeed
48:29and we are hopeful
48:29that the
48:30you know
48:30the corporate
48:31Trinidad and
48:32Tamigo
48:32will hear
48:34this plea
48:35from you
48:35and I think
48:36we have another
48:37call on the line
48:37caller good evening
48:38hello
48:40good evening
48:41caller go ahead
48:42hi good evening
48:43I just tuned in to you
48:45I need to find out
48:46something please
48:46I don't know
48:48the topic today
48:50I'm inquiring about
48:52the FUL
48:53yes go ahead
48:54if someone had

52:57Welcome back to
53:13Beyond the Tape
53:14I'm your host
53:14Mark Missan
53:15joined today
53:15by Valence Rambratter
53:16the Hunter's Search
53:17and Rescue team
53:18and we've been
53:19talking about
53:20safety on the roads
53:22every single day
53:22on this program
53:23and there was
53:24actually an RTA
53:25on the Elsikoro
53:27area earlier
53:28on Monday
53:29today
53:29we're seeing
53:31these two vehicles
53:32involved
53:33and police officers
53:35on the scene
53:35there
53:36ensuring that
53:37traffic and so on
53:38is stopped
53:39so that there's
53:40no further
53:41incident
53:42this is the
53:43second vehicle
53:44so we are
53:45asking people
53:45to please
53:46be careful
53:47on the roadways
53:48especially
53:48in this rainy
53:50season
53:50Yeah and drive
53:51not only for
53:52yourself but for
53:53others
53:54and be careful
53:55on the way
53:55I encountered
53:56some rain
53:57and immediately
53:59slow down
54:00and ensure
54:01that I was
54:01in control
54:02of my vehicle
54:03at all times
54:04just in case
54:04there's diesel
54:05on the road
54:06and I pick up
54:06a skid
54:08I know that
54:09I will be
54:09in control
54:10of my vehicle
54:11and there's
54:12no need
54:12for speed
54:13but you have
54:15to ensure
54:17that you practice
54:17good safety
54:19while using
54:20your vehicles
54:21because vehicles
54:22could turn
54:22into weapons
54:23of destruction
54:24and cause
54:25loss of life
54:26Yeah and that
54:27as you talk
54:28about weapons
54:28of destruction
54:29you know
54:29sometimes
54:30you know
54:31we've been
54:31seeing this
54:32I think this
54:33is the third
54:33or fourth
54:34time I've seen
54:34this over
54:35the last year
54:36a vehicle
54:37bursting into
54:38flames
54:39on the roadway
54:41I think this
54:42was on either
54:43Friday night
54:44or Saturday
54:45night
54:46SUV it appears
54:48there's another
54:49vehicle down
54:50in the trench
54:52there
54:53between the
54:53two lanes
54:55and a number
54:56of things
54:57of course
54:57can cause
54:58a vehicle
54:59to burst
55:00into flames
55:01you know
55:01it can be
55:01mechanical
55:02or otherwise
55:03apart from
55:04impact
55:04Yeah
55:05Yeah but we're
55:08seeing a lot
55:08of vehicles
55:09on fire
55:10recently
55:10I'm not
55:11too sure
55:12I know
55:13there was
55:13the case
55:14of the
55:14hybrids
55:15and the
55:15batteries
55:16you know
55:17catching a
55:19fire easily
55:19so I'm
55:20not too
55:20sure
55:21if this
55:22vehicle
55:22was outfitted
55:23with that
55:24type of
55:24battery
55:24Yeah and
55:26the thing
55:27is I remember
55:27you know
55:28a couple
55:29days ago
55:29you know
55:30famous
55:31footballer
55:32Diego Jota
55:32and his
55:33brother
55:33died in
55:34a car crash
55:35in a
55:36Lamborghini
55:37in Spain
55:37and they
55:38were
55:38actually
55:39there was
55:39an article
55:39that came
55:40out about
55:40two days
55:41later
55:41talking about
55:43a few
55:43other
55:44Lamborghinis
55:44that had
55:45crashed
55:45and wasted
55:45the flames
55:46and they
55:47were questioning
55:47whether or not
55:48there was
55:48some kind
55:49of defect
55:49in the
55:50vehicles
55:50depending of
55:52course
55:53I mean
55:53they blew
55:53a tire
55:54and then
55:54they lost
55:55control
55:55and the
55:55car
55:56burst into
55:57flames
55:57and I
55:58think
55:58cars
55:58are
55:58built
55:59not to
56:01catch a
56:03fire
56:03easily
56:04and so
56:05you know
56:06the
56:06investigation
56:07should be
56:08welcome
56:08but I
56:09looked at
56:09that and
56:10said I
56:10wondered
56:10why this
56:11Lamborghini
56:12would have
56:13caught on
56:13fire
56:14and
56:15because
56:15it's
56:16an expensive
56:16vehicle
56:17and
56:17safety
56:18would have
56:18been
56:18in the
56:19engineer's
56:20mind
56:20when
56:20constructing
56:21this
56:21vehicle
56:21or
56:22designing
56:22this
56:22vehicle
56:23so
56:24Mark
