Super7 The Simpsons Ultimates Bartman Figure
Transcript
00:00 Springfield gets a superhero from the most unlikeliest of citizens.
00:04 Here's a look at the brand new Super 7 The Simpsons Ultimates Bartman.
00:10 As seen on The Simpsons, Bartman may not be Bart's most elaborate disguise, but certainly
00:37 one of the most memorable.
00:38 This 7 inch scale highly articulated Simpsons Ultimates Bartman figure features premium
00:42 detail and comes with interchangeable heads and hands and a variety of other accessories,
00:46 including a skateboard, radioactive man comic and Santa's little helper figure.
00:50 Hey, yo, what's happening dude?
00:52 I'm the guy with the rap for being rude.
00:54 Okay, we're not going to sing the rest of the Bartman.
00:56 Besides, I've always had more of a preference for deep, deep trouble.
00:59 Just before of course we get a closer look at the new Simpsons Ultimates Bartman, the
01:02 tape measure in fact is telling us that the figure is only about four and a half inches
01:05 in height, or Bartman's about 11 and a half centimeters tall.
01:10 Obviously with these reviews, the opinions are only my own, but I feel like we have sort
01:13 of the same problem as we had with Deep Space Homer in that we actually get a Simpsons family
01:17 member, but they're not just dressed in their casual clothing.
01:20 Does that mean we'll get a Bart maybe five, six waves from now that's going to actually
01:24 just be regular Bart Simpson, or they're going to cancel the line before we actually end
01:28 up seeing that happen?
01:29 Now, I know many of you have weighed in your opinions when we had to look at Deep Space
01:33 Homer had said like, "We've already gotten Simpsons characters from other toy companies."
01:37 Yes, we have, but they're not going to be scaled like these ones.
01:40 You could easily bring in one from Playmates, but I mean, obviously it's not going to be
01:43 the same size of character.
01:45 I would just like to get a Super 7 release of a regular Bart Simpson.
01:49 One at least that was casually dressed, at least in Springfield.
01:52 Here's what the figure as well looks like with Mo.
01:54 While not being a regular Bart Simpson, at least Super 7 pack a lot of accessories in
01:58 these.
01:59 One of my favorite episodes of The Simpsons, in fact, is when Martin, Milhouse, and Bart
02:03 go to buy Radioactive Man #1 for $100 and not having enough money separately, they all
02:08 sort of collectively joined together and they end up sharing the comic.
02:11 Well, we know how that ends up well working.
02:14 Speaking of issue #1 of Radioactive Man, you do get the issue and luckily you don't have
02:19 to pay the $100 to get it.
02:21 Although with the price of these Super 7 figures, these are all like about $55 online US.
02:26 So already they're getting pretty close to $100.
02:28 The book itself does look good.
02:30 Of course you got the printing of Radioactive Man on the front.
02:33 Nothing really on the back.
02:35 Would be nice if they had thrown in some ads or something that you would normally see on
02:38 the back of comics.
02:39 And of course you've got the page on the inside.
02:41 That's a pretty thick comic, even by back in the 80s standards.
02:45 The book unfortunately doesn't open up or anything like that, but I mean not that necessarily
02:48 needed to either.
02:49 If you have already seen the episode, I don't want to be obviously spilling the beans, but
02:52 I mean, come on, the episode came out in the 80s.
02:54 I'm sure by now everybody's already seen it.
02:57 Only the fate of the comic is that it ends up getting thrown out the window outside the
03:00 treehouse.
03:01 The dog rips it up.
03:03 It ends up getting shot by lightning.
03:04 And eventually it finds its way embedded inside the bird's nest.
03:08 You can't quite make out what it actually says, but it does say, "Well, the world is
03:12 safe again, but for how long?"
03:15 Obviously you wouldn't be able to see that.
03:16 It'd probably be a little easier to see it in the actual episode.
03:18 There's a bird still there.
03:20 He doesn't have any little birdlings that he has to be feeding it with worms.
03:23 But again, you've got what's left behind at least of the hundred dollar comic inside
03:27 the nest.
03:28 I mean, it's a little touch.
03:29 I don't even know really what I'm going to be doing with this.
03:30 I mean, like, what am I going to do with a bird's nest?
03:32 I mean, it's a reference to the episode, but realistically, we have to be practical about
03:36 all these things.
03:37 What am I really going to do with a bird that's inside of a nest?
03:40 I'm just going to put it off to the side.
03:42 The figure as well comes included with the skateboard.
03:44 The skateboard's nice.
03:45 I mean, it does have actually real functioning wheels so it can roll back and forth.
03:48 You may already notice that it does have a peg on the top.
03:50 I don't know if this is actually the same skateboard as the one that came with Poochie.
03:53 I don't think it is, but it plugs onto the other side of Bart Simpson's feet.
03:58 So of course you can have him roller skating his way around.
04:01 Nice little roller skate.
04:02 Nice little included accessory.
04:04 Now we've already, looking at all the other things, I mean, obviously they're just hands
04:07 and then the slingshot.
04:08 I guess the biggest thing we could also talk about is the fact that Bart actually comes
04:11 included with Sam's little helper.
04:13 It's nice.
04:14 The thing about it though is while it does depict sort of the last ending life of what's
04:19 left of the least radioactive man, number one, he rips it to shreds.
04:22 And then again, like the lightning hits it.
04:24 I do wish though that this figure could have come included with an alternate head sculpt
04:28 too.
04:29 I would imagine if we eventually get ourselves a Bart down the road, hopefully the line doesn't
04:33 get canceled by then, that we're probably going to be getting, wouldn't it just be the
04:37 case that we get ourselves another Bart Simpson and then we get ourselves another Santa's
04:40 little helper.
04:41 I feel like we could really stop right there, meet somewhere in the middle and not just
04:45 release this as a Bart Simpson with an alternate Bart man head portrait.
04:49 They probably could have done something very similar as well to Santa's little helper.
04:52 Instead of just having one always being sculpted, ripping up the actual comic book, why couldn't
04:57 they have just include a secondary head port?
04:59 You just pop this one off, replace it with a rather regular Santa's little helper head
05:03 sculpt and then you would have just had the option of being able to display the figure
05:07 on his own.
05:08 I just don't hope that this is a case that Super 7 is going to double dip this figure
05:11 because we already know they will get a Bart and get ourselves yet another Santa's little
05:15 helper.
05:16 What are we going to do with two of the dogs?
05:17 There's articulation at least for the figure where you can rotate it back and forth.
05:21 Santa's little helper also has as well rotation or hinging there on the legs themselves, both
05:25 back, back leg.
05:27 Also I think the back leg does move.
05:28 No, it actually is just sculpted the rest of the figure's body and there's no tail articulation
05:32 either.
05:33 So it's really only just a head and it's the front of the legs.
05:35 I mean again, like you get yourself a Santa's little helper, which is a nice, don't get
05:38 me wrong, a nice included accessory, but already sort of getting that kind of feeling that
05:43 you know, Super 7 is only just going to double dip this figure again.
05:46 I just feel like we're going to be getting another Super 7 Santa's little helper down
05:50 the road.
05:51 Calling it right now.
05:52 The figure also comes included with a slingshot, which again, a nice little accessory for both
05:56 Bart and Bartman.
05:57 The slingshot does have what looks to be already a pulled back elastic and this does fit into
06:01 his hands.
06:02 Although right now, obviously he's not gonna be holding much of anything.
06:04 He only has just relaxed hands.
06:06 Don't worry, we'll fix that shortly.
06:07 The figure comes included with a closed fist.
06:09 We're not gonna be fixing it just yet.
06:12 And then of course the figure does have a couple of relaxed hands.
06:15 Yeah, we're still not going to fix it yet.
06:17 But the figure also comes included with a cash that he throws over to the comic book
06:20 guy, which of course all three of them then participate in buying the comic collectively.
06:24 They have to then share it among days and then they have to then within those days,
06:28 Saturday and Sunday, I think they have to decide by numbers.
06:31 But what about zero?
06:32 Yeah, what about zero?
06:33 At least you get yourself a little wad of what's left of his money.
06:37 And of course, you know, again, I think he wants to offer it $40 and he says no.
06:41 And again, they all sort of pay together.
06:43 So you get yourself a little cash, a little stack of money that of course that can be
06:46 displayed in Bart's hands.
06:47 But the most important thing is the fact that the figure comes also included with gripping
06:50 hands.
06:51 We're just going to take the figure as he is right now and we're just popping the hand
06:55 off from the provided peg.
06:56 We're going to obviously take the peg with the hand, just remove it from his forearm.
06:59 Then we're going to take the hand, one of the gripping hands at least, pop that into
07:02 his hand like that.
07:03 Then we're going to take the slingshot.
07:05 Slingshot fits fairly easy, in fact, actually in between his fingers and his thumb.
07:09 And then we're just going to bend the elbow.
07:11 Now Bart's got himself the slingshot.
07:13 Don't worry, we're going to be talking about the belt in a moment.
07:16 I can already see that you guys are looking at that thinking, boy, that belt's a little
07:19 loosey goosey.
07:20 It is loosey goosey.
07:21 Actually, you know what?
07:22 We'll talk about that right now.
07:23 We're going to take this all out.
07:24 We're going to put all the accessories off to the side.
07:27 We're going to also talk about the head sculpts also more in a moment.
07:30 But Bart as Bartman, I mean, obviously you get yourself three different head portraits.
07:35 All of them have varying expressions.
07:37 The one that I did want to sort of start things off is sort of more of a neutral expression.
07:41 Nice looking portrait for Bart.
07:43 The thing about it though is if, let's just say, let's just say we're going to pop the
07:47 head off here.
07:48 He comes in clue with a cape and I'll say right away, like the cape isn't matching the
07:51 color at all for his head.
07:52 His head's actually supposed to be a little bit more, at least the mask that he has actually
07:55 is more closer to purple.
07:56 And yet they arrived on the idea of giving him actually more of a blue cape.
08:00 It really should be like a purple cape and a purple cow.
08:03 Anyways, if you were to remove all of those and then you remove his utility belt, ah,
08:07 this thing, utility belt sits like if you, if you align everything flush and you kind
08:13 of bring it down as far as it's going to go, providing all those things get checked off,
08:17 then utility belt stays fine on him.
08:19 The moment any one of those get misaligned, then all of a sudden you got this loose utility
08:23 belt just flops around.
08:25 It actually kind of looks like there's an old controller there on the front.
08:28 Okay.
08:29 So let's remove this as well.
08:32 You probably can already see where I'm going with this.
08:34 If we take off all the things that identify him as Bartman, and if you leave just the
08:38 body alone, obviously we have, you know, some Bartman head sculpts still to work with.
08:43 Couldn't they have not simply just released this as a Bart figure and then just giving
08:47 us maybe like an alternate head sculpt for a Bartman, maybe even given less either one
08:51 or two different heads for Bartman or even given him one and then just giving a couple
08:55 of different portraits for Bart.
08:56 They literally could have, instead of releasing two figures, met it in the middle and not
09:01 just release this as a Bart with then an alternate portrait here for Sansa Little Helper.
09:05 And then of course all this stuff that I mean, like with the comic only being the thing that
09:08 references back to Radioactive Man, everything else essentially, other than maybe just the
09:12 nest is all things that really could have also been packed along with Bart.
09:16 Anyways, what's also interesting about the utility belt, where I just happened to move
09:20 off to the side here, is that in the actual episode where he goes to the convention, I
09:24 think it's the same episode that he meets Adam West.
09:26 How come Batman doesn't dance anymore?
09:28 Remember the Bat-Toosie?
09:31 In that episode, I don't think, I don't believe he's actually even got a utility
09:34 belt.
09:35 All he really has is the cape, which again is purple, it's not blue.
09:38 And of course he's wearing basically this outfit.
09:40 So we just pop everything back in place.
09:42 This really should be the way he looks.
09:44 I'm trying to actually arrive on which episode he's actually got himself a utility belt.
09:48 Not to say it hasn't been the case, but when I ever think of Bartman, I always just think
09:51 of him looking like this.
09:53 He does also have a couple of different head sculpts in there.
09:55 Obviously, this is just the one that we started things with.
09:57 He also comes with one that kind of gives more the arrived expression that kind of he's
10:02 happy that he just got himself the comic.
10:04 And then there's this one where he sees where the comic has ended up onto the ground and
10:08 says, "Little helper has chewed at the bits, lightning has hit it."
10:10 Of course, then the bird made a nest of it later on.
10:13 This head sculpt's good, but again, I think really if given the choice, I probably would
10:16 just end up displaying the figure with the smile instead.
10:20 And it's just a case again of you pop the head off, you put it back onto the ball joint.
10:24 We all sort of know by now how ball joints work.
10:27 Just pop it in place and now you've got Bart with now the smiling face.
10:30 Again, could be none have just done this as a Bart release.
10:33 And again, it's probably going to be like three, four ways down the road.
10:37 They're going to finally give us another Bart.
10:39 And I'm sure they're probably going to also deliberately give him a different shirt.
10:42 So the whole idea in mind is obviously you'd be able to swap the heads around.
10:45 So if you want to use like the orange shirt instead, maybe the other Bart's going to probably
10:48 be a blue shirt.
10:49 And then just again, you'd be able to mix and match the parts.
10:51 I don't know.
10:52 But we're just essentially getting a figure that we know we're already getting and they
10:57 could have easily just done all of it now.
11:00 Just all of it in this singular release.
11:02 What's interesting also about the cape, by the way, is luckily, first of all, it hasn't
11:05 stained anything on the figure because that was one of the biggest worries I had was that
11:08 the blue from the cape would eventually find its way to stain the back of the shirt.
11:11 Doesn't seem to be the case.
11:12 It hasn't stained the arms either.
11:15 There is a wire that runs here.
11:17 There's a wire that runs here.
11:18 There's a wire that runs in the middle.
11:20 Actually there isn't one in the middle.
11:21 It's only just on the sides.
11:23 But you can at least angle the cape if you want a little bit more of a dynamic superhero
11:27 pose to that.
11:28 Head sculpt again, like on all of them is really well painted.
11:32 This one being again, my favorite of the three.
11:33 I just again, wish that the cape was a little bit more closer in color.
11:36 Like you can see it's somewhat close, but it really should all honestly be kind of a
11:40 little bit more of a purple color for this.
11:42 And it should be a lot more purple, obviously for the cape.
11:45 For the rest of the figure's body, it's pretty much just standard Bart's.
11:47 So I'm not going to say any more of it.
11:49 I'm not going to say anything else about what we'll do instead.
11:51 We'll talk about the articulation.
11:53 So like Bart, if I can get it all the way onto the ball joint, it's going to be on
11:56 a ball joint.
11:57 So it does look down really well, actually.
11:58 It looks up if we get it all the way on there.
12:00 It does rotate back and forth and you can also angle it as well.
12:03 If you're having, by the way, any problems like I'm having problems right now getting
12:06 this onto the ball joint, just, you know, again, heat the inside of the head with either
12:10 hot water or a pair dryer.
12:11 That might make things a little bit easier popping it onto the ball joint.
12:14 Arms hinge out at about 90 degrees.
12:16 You probably could, I would imagine maybe even go a little higher than that.
12:19 There is a swivel right here, a swivel in the elbow.
12:22 You can bend at the elbow there.
12:23 You can also rotate the hands all the way around.
12:25 The legs, or I shouldn't say even say like the legs, the waist swivels back and forth.
12:29 The legs hinge out because they have the ball joints inside there.
12:32 The thighs, of course, the legs move forward and back.
12:35 There is a, there's no swivel here at the top of the thigh, but there's at least a
12:38 swivel here where the knee cap is.
12:40 You can bend the knee.
12:41 Then there's the articulation here for the actual feet.
12:43 Those move back and forth.
12:44 You can also move them up and down as well.
12:46 You know, good, good BART, but I feel like I have the problems with the BART for maybe
12:50 all the wrong reasons.
12:51 Sort of the same way I had the problem with, with Homer.
12:54 And again, again, it's only just my own opinions.
12:56 You probably could have completely different opinions and hey, that's okay.
12:58 You know, we're all different opinions, but I feel like again, like instead of just giving
13:02 us, Homer's a harder one because obviously he's got himself the astronaut outfit.
13:07 Homer would be a harder one to pull off.
13:08 We're giving us obviously just a regular dressed, you know, Springfield version of Homer Simpson.
13:14 They just decided instead to give us an Astro Homer instead.
13:17 D-Space Homer.
13:18 Okay.
13:19 There's that.
13:20 But for the fact that BART literally is just a BART Simpson body and then they put a cape
13:24 over top of it, they slid on awkwardly a utility belt.
13:28 I just feel like, again, like this figure could have easily done both a BART and a BART
13:32 man as one release.
13:34 Because again, like all the accessories sure are some referenced to the episodes that have
13:38 appeared at least with BART man.
13:40 But I feel like those could also be accessories specific as well to BART.
13:43 Bartman's little helper could have easily come in clear with two head sculpts.
13:46 BART could have easily also come in clear with an unmasked head.
13:49 And then again, a couple of different head sculpts for BART man.
13:51 And they could have easily done a BART with basically two birds with one stone.
13:55 I know that's a horrible like, you know, idea in mind, but two birds with one stone, they
13:59 could have also done something similar to BART releasing on in fact, the same figure
14:03 with just two different portraits.
14:04 And then you could decide for yourself which way you want to display them.
14:07 I did say eighties, didn't I?
14:09 I think the Tracy Allman shorts were probably like the late eighties.
14:12 And when Simpsons basically went to a solo series, it was kind of the early end of the
14:17 nineties.
14:18 This particular episode, by the way, one of my all time favorites, three men in a comic
14:20 book in which Martin Milhouse and BART all pay in together to get radioactive man number
14:24 one, debuted in fact, May 9th, 1991.
14:28 How many of you feel really old?
14:30 Not only do I feel old by the fact that I actually remember that being on TV for the
14:33 first time on Fox, but all the subsequent times that that episode has aired every single
14:38 time I see it on TV, it's one of those episodes I have to watch.
14:41 I don't really watch Simpsons as much anymore, but that's one of the handful of episodes
14:45 that if I ever see it, I end up watching it right away.
14:49 Now to go back, obviously to something I talked about in this review, the fact that he has
14:53 a utility belt that's removable, the fact that he also has a cape that can also be taken
14:57 off does beg the question, why couldn't super seven have released BART man as a BART ultimate
15:02 figure and not just included the additional accessories for him to transform into BART
15:07 man?
15:08 I mean, obviously down the road, I know we're going to be getting ourselves a BART.
15:11 The fact that we already get ourselves a BART man now means that ways from now, super seven
15:15 is not just going to release this figure again as BART.
15:18 It will bother me if they give them the exact same color of shirts, because you would think
15:22 that they probably going to be using the same ball joint for both those figures that you
15:26 could just decide for yourself which head sculpt you want to use.
15:29 If you want to use the BART man head sculpt for that other BART that we're going to be
15:32 eventually getting, or if you want to use that BART for the other one and just swap
15:35 it out with this body here, at least give us, if that's the plan in mind, give us a
15:40 BART that's going to have a different color t-shirt.
15:41 So then you can decide for yourself if it happens to be the exact same t-shirt and we
15:46 get ourselves another Santa's little helper.
15:48 Shame on you, super seven.
15:50 We know exactly why you did that.
15:52 What do you guys think of BART man?
15:53 Let me know down below in the comment section.
15:54 Have you guys had the chance to pick up this figure for yourself?
15:56 And do you also feel like super seven could have at least arrived with doing a BART first
16:01 and then just included the BART man accessories?
16:03 Or do you like the fact that BART man is actually a separate release from a BART we know eventually
16:08 we're going to get down the road?
16:09 Let me know down below if you guys, by the way, are interested in get BART man for yourself.
16:13 He is as, as right now he's available at entertainment earth.
16:16 That's where I find this.
16:17 That's where I found this figure and backing up.
16:20 That's also where I found crusty the clown.
16:21 Yeah, we're going to be looking at custody of clown.
16:23 Hey, in the next review, did actually find them both there.
16:27 If you click the link down below that's provided in the video description, that link not only
16:30 will take you directly to BART man, but that same link as well was save you 10% on anything
16:35 that's currently in sight over on entertainment earth.
16:38 So that means if you want to pick up the Bart Simpson, the BART man, or you want to pick
16:42 up any of the other ultimate figures that super seven have done so far, if it's in stock
16:46 provided you'll save 10% off right away.
16:49 But again, we are going to be looking at custody of clown.
16:50 His review will be right up right around the corner.
16:52 If in the meantime, you guys did enjoy the review here of BART man.
16:55 Why don't throw it a like, if you guys are loving the content you guys are seeing and
16:58 you're on board to see some more reviews of super seven, you can also hit that subscribe
17:02 button down below.
17:03 That's, you know, that's really good.
17:04 You can also, Hey, turn on the bell notification.
17:07 And if you want to go back and see some of the ones I've already looked at from super
17:09 seven, I mean that covers off the territory of silver Hawks, thunder cats, Ren and Stimpy.
