00:00Unlike this fiendish phantom, I hope that Jada doesn't bail out of this license.
00:04Here's your spooky spot on Jada Toys, Scooby-Doo the Creeper.
00:30The sinister specter of the night is here with the Scooby-Doo Creeper 1-12 scale action figure by Jada Toys, one of the most infamous villains from Scooby-Doo.
00:40The Creeper lurked in the shadows, striking fear into mystery ink as he hunted for the stolen bank documents.
00:45With his creepy yellow eyes, tattered coat, and zombie-like shuffle, this classic Scooby-Doo baddie is ready to give your collection of fright.
00:52I don't really know what the flame can tell, but what I can tell, at least from my experiences looking at Shaggy,
00:56Jada Toys is probably the right company to be producing a brand new license of Scooby-Doo figures.
01:00We're moving our attention now away from Mystery Incorporated. Now we're looking at the ghouls themselves.
01:04Part of Wave 1 will, of course, be the Creeper and the mummy of Anka.
01:07Now, while I'm still not sure about whether the mummy is going to be a good fit for Wave 1,
01:11I think really, again, like the night probably would have made more sense.
01:14The Creeper, though, is one of the most iconic of Scooby-Doo ghosts, and a perfect fit, I think,
01:18if you're going to be going out the gate, showing collectors and fans of Scooby-Doo what the company is capable of doing.
01:23Now, I know, though, the Creeper's generally known for creeping, lurking down low.
01:28But again, I did want to extend at least his legs and kind of get him in his full standing position
01:31to give at least you guys the proper idea of just how tall the figure's going to stand.
01:35And then, of course, we'll bring in the Shaggy we've looked at before.
01:37Based at least on the way he's configured right now,
01:39the Creeper is going to stand at 5 3⁄4 of an inch in height,
01:43working out to be a figure that's about 14 1⁄2 centimeters tall.
01:46Coming to us from the episode Jeepers, it's the Creeper.
01:49Here's what the figure looks like, along with Shaggy.
01:51Now, whereas Shaggy did have two swappable head sculpts,
01:54the Creeper is really cool as well,
01:55because not only does he have the Creeper head that you're looking at right now,
01:58but he does also have the unmasked portrait,
02:00which, again, would certainly be a spoiler if you haven't seen the episode yet.
02:03I guess by the severed head right here, we've already spilled the beans,
02:06but do you know who the character is?
02:07Maybe we'll get to that in a second.
02:09First, let's get to right now, the Creeper does come and include some swappable hands.
02:12On the ends of his hands, he has kind of more like monster hands.
02:15But if you'd rather just have relaxed hands, the Creeper has that as well.
02:18Now, these hands, again, like Shaggy, are really super easy to change.
02:21You just hold on to the sleeve, wiggle the hand from the post, and just pop these off.
02:25I've said this before, and I'll say this again.
02:28Jada Toys really has some of the coolest plastic,
02:30one of the most easiest to use plastics when it comes to their figures.
02:33It's kind of that rubbery plastic where there's a lot of user-friendly control to it.
02:37I mean, when you're kind of moving hands and popping hands off,
02:39and even changing out the heads,
02:40I never really feel like I'm going to be breaking a figure's plastic.
02:42We'll put the hands down here for a second.
02:45So, at the end of the episode, I mean, if you haven't, again, seen this episode of Scooby-Doo,
02:49Where Are You?, it ends up being revealed that it's Mr. Carswell.
02:53Now, Mr. Carswell is the bank manager, and sort of the way he devises this is he ends up sneaking
02:58at the end of, well, he's not even so much sneaking.
02:59At the end of the day, he goes into the safe and he steals money.
03:02But then to account for the fact that he's taking the money,
03:05he devises the idea of dressing up as the Creeper,
03:07and he kind of walks into the bank and he walks out with a briefcase.
03:09So, it then gives everybody the idea that Mr. Carswell isn't really the one that's stealing.
03:13It is the Creeper, until, of course, they put in a hidden camera.
03:16A hidden camera is the thing that ends up being the reveal of the fact that Mr. Carswell is the character.
03:21And, of course, then the Creeper has to get the documents away from Mr. Incorporated,
03:24which, again, the Flame will reveal.
03:26The Flame, essentially, is just going to develop the photo,
03:28revealing to everybody that it's Mr. Carswell.
03:31Everybody got that? Okay, I hope everybody got that.
03:34What's kind of cool, though, about the Creeper is the fact that, again,
03:36like all of these head sculpts so far, at least from the monsters,
03:38have the reveal that's at the end of the episode.
03:41So, again, we only got really the head of Mr. Carswell, the bank manager.
03:44The thing, unfortunately, though, about it is Mr. Carswell's glasses fall off frequently.
03:48I guess it's not so much a bad thing, because he does also have sort of a pulled-off mask.
03:52I think, by the way it's configured, it's supposed to fit over top of Carswell's head.
03:56But he does have a pair of removable glasses.
03:58There's a slot, essentially, on the side, just above his ears,
04:01that you take, then, the frames of the glasses, and they sort of rest on top of the ears.
04:04Which, again, is not so much a bad thing, but you'll probably find yourself frequently
04:08putting the glasses back onto his face.
04:10I mean, I guess they stay okay right now, but when you go to swap the head sculpts off,
04:14you'll probably find the glasses fall off, too.
04:16Head sculpt looks good for Mr. Carswell.
04:18Mr. Carswell trying to steal the money from the bank.
04:22But, again, like, most of the time we see him really as the Creeper.
04:25And, again, it kind of is a smart idea.
04:27Like, go in there at the end of your shift and basically just empty out the safe.
04:30And then just be a monster that goes into the bank in broad daylight
04:33and steal the money so that everybody can see,
04:35oh, it's the Creeper that's stealing the money.
04:37And it's not really the bank manager.
04:38But we all know.
04:39Mr. Incorporated all figured out at the end of the episode.
04:42The thing that's kind of cool, though, about the Creeper
04:43is that he does also have a pulled-off mask.
04:46Now, I think the way that they've designed this,
04:48if you look at the back of this,
04:49this is all kind of more of a softer plastic.
04:51And the way they've done it also,
04:52it looks like it's been stretched off the character's face.
04:55The way that I think this is supposed to work,
04:57and we're going to go ahead and just remove the glasses
04:59just so it gets out of the way,
05:01is if you look at the top of this,
05:02it does kind of look like it's the shape of Mr. Carswell's head.
05:06I think you're supposed to put this over top of his head
05:09like they're pulling it off the figure's face.
05:12Now, it doesn't do the greatest of jobs of staying on his head,
05:14but I think it's supposed to go like this.
05:16So, like, if you had Shaggy, for example,
05:18it would look like he's pulling the mask off of Mr. Carswell's head.
05:22The only other thing I can think of is
05:23maybe this would go on top of the hand of,
05:25like, maybe if it was Shaggy, for example,
05:26he would just hold that in his hand,
05:27but that doesn't seem to make much sense.
05:29If anything makes more sense,
05:30you would be able to clip that onto Shaggy's hand,
05:32I guess, if you wanted just to bend his elbow up like this.
05:35Just take the Creeper's mask,
05:37kind of fit into his hand like that,
05:38or fit it this way,
05:39so it looks like he's actually peeling off the mask.
05:41And then you'd have, of course,
05:42the reveal of Mr. Carswell underneath.
05:44I know this whole time, of course,
05:45we've been looking at the reveal,
05:47but let's actually look, though, at the Creeper.
05:48The Creeper's really cool.
05:49So, love the design.
05:51Again, there's so very few Scooby-Doo characters
05:53that are as recognizable as the Creeper.
05:56The Creeper, most of the time, though,
05:57in the episode, isn't standing upright like this.
05:59Usually, he's creeping.
06:01So, for me, though, while, of course,
06:02he's probably, when you're displaying him along with Shaggy,
06:05he's just a little bit shorter than him.
06:06He really should be even shorter still.
06:08So, with come displaying this guy on the shelf,
06:11what I would likely end up doing
06:12is just bending the knees,
06:13which I did notice were really tight, though, on the Creeper.
06:16Bend the knee on this side there as well.
06:17And, again, for the majority of the episode,
06:20when you see the Creeper,
06:21he's generally low like this.
06:22He's a lot smaller.
06:24So, that's going to be the way
06:25I'm going to be displaying this guy on the shelf.
06:26Kind of just up like that.
06:28Bend his arms.
06:28Bend it up.
06:29Bend his legs.
06:30And sort of have the Creeper
06:31essentially creeping just like that.
06:34Now, again, you may want to compensate for the fact
06:35you just want to kind of move his feet around.
06:37He doesn't actually have, unfortunately, like Shaggy,
06:39he doesn't have any pebbles on the bottoms of his feet.
06:41So, again, you want to do more of a balancing act.
06:43At least, though, his jacket,
06:44if I give him the stand here,
06:45he was standing really fine before.
06:47His jacket, at least, is softer plastic.
06:49Somewhat of the same thing that they've done also with Shaggy,
06:51where, like, that mid-torso is more of a softer plastic.
06:54Creeper's entire jacket, actually,
06:56is more of the softer plastic.
06:57So, at least it adds for a little bit of bendability.
07:00The figure does have a lot of weight, though,
07:01on the back of his body.
07:03So, when it comes to really, again,
07:04displaying this guy on the shelf,
07:04you really want to kind of make use of the double bend in the knee,
07:07not so much just the front.
07:08And, again, you just kind of want to have him more in a lumbering stance,
07:12like, kind of like that.
07:14Kind of like that.
07:15The head sculpt, though, for the Creeper
07:17looks just as good as the cartoon.
07:19I mean, again, like, he's got more of the long face,
07:21really sinister-looking eyes,
07:23very nice coloring of the green.
07:25The green matches fairly accurate, as well, to the cartoon.
07:27He has more of a torn jacket here,
07:29so ripped in the sleeves.
07:30It's not so much ripped down below here,
07:32but, again, like, this is all more of a softer plastic.
07:34It does lose a little bit of this
07:35when you do move the Creeper's arm up,
07:37that you notice that there's a big, pocketed gap here,
07:39just because, again, like,
07:40this jacket would have had to fit over his black frame.
07:42But, again, like, the head sculpt looks really good on him.
07:45There's not really much that I would have really changed for the Creeper.
07:47I think, if anything,
07:48I would have really liked
07:49if they could have included the little bank briefcase,
07:51something, again, that Mr. Carliswell
07:53ends up filling the money in,
07:54just something that the Creeper could carry around with him.
07:56Yes, it's nice, though,
07:57that the carrier, as well,
07:58are packaged along with the figure,
08:00the reveal of the bank manager,
08:01but I think I would have, again, done one better.
08:03I mean, again,
08:04seeing that Shaggy does come in clear with a box of Scooby snacks,
08:07I think I also would have included the briefcase
08:09for the Creeper to carry around with him.
08:11If you didn't want to change out the head sculpt, by the way,
08:12it's just a case of holding onto the torso.
08:14And, again, it's super, super easy.
08:16Now, you're looking at this,
08:17and you're probably thinking,
08:17well, hold on a second, hold on a second,
08:19you pulled the ball joint with it.
08:21Actually, though, if you look at both the heads,
08:23the reveal of the bank manager
08:24also does have the ball joint in there as well.
08:26So you're not necessarily worrying
08:28about having to retrieve the ball joint
08:29and put it back in the neck.
08:30Both the heads are supposed to have the ball joints.
08:32And, again, we'll just plug it back in place like that.
08:35Now, you could choose to have the figure
08:37still displayed in the squatted position like this.
08:39Or, again, if he's been revealed at the end,
08:41you can also just straighten out his legs.
08:43And then we'll go ahead and take the glasses.
08:45Where are the glasses?
08:46The glasses are right here.
08:47We'll go ahead and put on Mr. Carlswell's glasses,
08:50just like that.
08:52Again, the only thing about this, though,
08:53is that now that I've done this the first time,
08:55I've noticed that the glasses have become
08:57a little more progressively looser.
08:59So you just want to make sure
08:59that you don't lose these
09:00when you put them on the shelf.
09:02While it's nice, though,
09:03that Jaded Toys does include the reveal,
09:04and actually the mummy's also going to
09:06include the reveal as well.
09:07So it'd probably be best bet
09:08if you wanted to see the episode first
09:09before you start to pick up these figures,
09:11or I guess even for that,
09:12probably even watching this review
09:13would be a dead giveaway.
09:15And, again, this guy's spilling the beans.
09:18But for me, though,
09:18I mean, while it is nice to include, though,
09:20the Mr. Carlswell portrait,
09:22I'd definitely be beelining back
09:23to the creepier creeper
09:24as the way of displaying this guy on the shelf.
09:27Very, very cool.
09:28For the figure's articulation,
09:29whether you want to display him
09:30with the bank manager's head
09:31or you want to go back to the creeper,
09:33the head's going to essentially work the same.
09:34So the head's going to be on a ball joint.
09:35It moves up and down.
09:36I mean, it doesn't move as much, though,
09:38as Shaggy,
09:38just because you've got
09:39so much more shoulder here.
09:41The head's going to rotate also
09:42all the way around this way.
09:44And, again, you can kind of move it
09:45back and forth there, too,
09:46but the glasses are going to be
09:47frequently, frequently sliding down his face.
09:49The arms rotate all the way around.
09:50No issues there.
09:51You can bring them out
09:52at a 90-degree angle bend.
09:54The figure does also have
09:55a bicep swivel.
09:56No problems there.
09:56A double hinge on the elbow
09:58and the hands themselves
09:59rotate all the way around
10:00and you can hinge them
10:01back and forth there, too.
10:02For his legs,
10:03if we kind of move the torso
10:04out of the way,
10:05the top of his torso
10:06does for a second
10:07look like there's actually a cut.
10:09But the cut,
10:09actually the ball joint,
10:10is more at the bottom of the waist.
10:12So there's not,
10:13even though,
10:13this is more just the sculpting
10:14of his torso,
10:15it's not a cut to the ball joint,
10:16so you can't actually move it here.
10:18You can, though, move his waist.
10:19That moves forward and back.
10:20Actually, maybe.
10:21Let me just look at this for a second.
10:23Oh, there is actually a ball joint.
10:24I thought really that there wasn't.
10:26But there is a ball joint.
10:27There's a ball joint.
10:27Actually, if we just move the jacket out.
10:29The jacket does also open up.
10:30So I guess really
10:31I should have probably
10:31opened it up first
10:32to show you guys
10:32what it looked like underneath.
10:33Yeah, there is a ball joint right there.
10:36And actually,
10:37there's a waist swivel there, too.
10:39Just want to make sure
10:40you do the jacket back up.
10:41Now, the jacket, again,
10:42is only just snapped in place
10:44by that button.
10:45It's one thing that
10:45once you've done it the first time,
10:47it is really hard
10:48to get back in place.
10:49So maybe what I'll do
10:49is come back to that.
10:51The legs do hinge out.
10:52There's ball joints
10:52working behind the scenes.
10:54You can move the legs forward
10:54and you can certainly move them back.
10:56There's a swivel,
10:57swivel cut right there.
10:58Double hinge on the knee.
10:59But again,
10:59like I've noticed
11:00that the knees are super, super tight,
11:02which I guess is probably
11:02a good thing, too.
11:03If you're always going to have
11:04the creeper creeping,
11:05it's probably good
11:06that you will have
11:06then tight knee joints
11:08rather than overly loose.
11:09One thing, though,
11:10I did notice, though,
11:10with both my knees,
11:11not my knees,
11:12the knees of the creeper
11:13is that you'll see
11:13that there's the black
11:14or the kind of brown smudges,
11:16one right here
11:17and one right over here.
11:18I don't know really
11:19where the brown came from
11:20because everything around him
11:21is all done in green.
11:22But I've got these
11:23little smudges right here.
11:24I wonder if I can
11:24actually take those off.
11:25But again,
11:26he's got the double hinges
11:26in the knees
11:27and then he's got
11:28some decent articulation
11:29here for the ankle.
11:30You can move it up and down
11:31and you can rock it
11:31back and forth.
11:33I guess one thing, too,
11:33with the price of what
11:34these things are going for,
11:35you could, in theory,
11:37buy the ghosts in twos.
11:38So if you wanted to have them
11:39displayed on the shelf
11:40with the reveal,
11:41you can do them that way.
11:42Or again,
11:42like with the creeper,
11:43have the upright version
11:45of Mr. Carl's Well
11:45with, again,
11:46like the revealed mask.
11:48Then maybe, again,
11:50Mr. Incorporated ripping off
11:51the mask and have them
11:52displayed that way.
11:53Or again,
11:53you might even choose
11:54if you only end up
11:55picking up one figure
11:56for yourself,
11:56displaying the way
11:57that they're intended.
11:58The way I think
11:59they're much cooler
11:59displaying as the ghosts.
12:01Again, the only thing
12:02I would have really liked
12:02to have seen come included
12:03with the creeper
12:04is maybe the briefcase
12:05of the money.
12:06Because again,
12:06like Shaggy,
12:07again, when we looked at Shaggy,
12:08he came included
12:09with the Scooby Snacks.
12:10You could then make
12:11the justified argument
12:12because there's so much
12:12more plastic that went
12:13into the creeper
12:14that that meant
12:15that there wasn't as much
12:16budget to then go
12:17into the additional accessories.
12:18I guess all in all,
12:19it's not bad
12:20that not only do we
12:21get ourselves the creeper mask,
12:22but we also get the reveal
12:23that's underneath as well.
12:24Well, now that they're
12:25rid of the creeper,
12:26I guess the gang can creep
12:26on down to the malt shop
12:27and join the party.
12:28I think the thing
12:29I like the most
12:29about the Jada Toys
12:30Scooby-Doo monsters
12:31is that they do have
12:32the head reveals.
12:33Although if you pick up
12:34one of these figures,
12:34I don't think there's
12:35a good likelihood
12:35that you're going to be
12:36displaying them
12:37without the monster heads
12:38on their shoulders.
12:39Yeah, the creeper,
12:39I think, is certainly
12:40the more recognizable
12:41than Mr. Carlswell.
12:42You probably would end up
12:42displaying that guy
12:43in the show.
12:44Your friends would be
12:44walking by saying,
12:45who exactly is this guy
12:46with the glasses?
12:47And then you have to explain,
12:48well, that's what the creeper
12:49looks like under the mask.
12:50And then your friend
12:51would just throw their hands
12:52in the air and say,
12:52oh, you just ruined
12:54the episode of Scooby-Doo
12:55for me.
12:55Sorry.
12:56The episode that's
12:57like 50 years old.
12:58Mr. Carlswell, though,
12:59yes, could it probably
13:00come in clear
13:01with the bank briefcase?
13:02That would be one accessory
13:03where I feel like
13:03the figure really needed it.
13:05I'm sure, though,
13:05with all the other figures
13:06that we've looked at
13:07over the years
13:08here on this channel,
13:08I probably could find
13:09a briefcase that would fit
13:10in the oversized hands
13:12of the creeper.
13:13Now, again,
13:14this is part of the first wave.
13:15The other figure
13:15that we're also going
13:16to be looking at
13:16is the mummy of Unka.
13:18There's the Unka.
13:19Either way, though,
13:20the mummy will be
13:21mummifying his way.
13:22Coming up as we wrap up
13:23the review, though,
13:24for the creeper,
13:25I do, though, think
13:26if anything could be chosen
13:27for a ghost
13:28for the first wave
13:28of Scooby-Doo figures
13:29and jaded toys,
13:30creeper certainly would have
13:31been pretty high
13:32in that list.
13:33I don't know if I feel
13:33the same again
13:34about the mummy.
13:35I think like the mummy
13:36probably could have easily
13:36been released
13:37in a wave two
13:38or wave three.
13:39Set aside that space
13:40the night.
13:41I do think, though,
13:42like Justice should have
13:43been done for the night.
13:44He should have been released
13:44at part of the first wave.
13:46Still, though,
13:46what do you guys think
13:47of the creeper?
13:47Let me know down below
13:48in the comment section.
13:49Do you think it's also
13:49a cool idea that
13:50jaded toys includes
13:51the reveal head underneath?
13:53And do you think
13:53that the figure needed
13:54any other accessories
13:55than the ones
13:56that he already had?
13:57Let me know what you
13:57think of it down below.
13:58If you guys did,
13:59in the meantime,
14:00enjoy this creepy review
14:01of Scooby-Doo's
14:02new characters
14:02from jaded toys.
14:03Do it as well
14:04and throw it a like.
14:05You guys want to
14:05stick around for more so?
14:06I hope so.
14:07There's going to be,
14:08like I said,
14:08the review of The Mummy
14:09from Anka, Anka,
14:11coming your way, Ka,
14:12in the upcoming video.
14:13So, of course,
14:14as always,
14:14thanks for watching.
14:15See you guys next time.
