00:32This is a collaboration, again, between Fanta and another horror icon,
00:35although I will admit, perhaps not as successful,
00:38that they chose of all the flavors for the shape, a pineapple.
00:41I know most people detest the flavor of pineapple.
00:44I generally sort of sit on the fence when it comes to pineapple.
00:47I like pineapple on certain things like hams,
00:50but I don't generally like things like pineapple candy, pineapple sodas, as a good example of this.
00:54Crush at one point, I think, had released a very limited flavor of a pineapple crush,
00:59and I thought it was disgusting.
01:00Not perhaps as successful.
01:03I just happen to have myself what's left here of my Fanta Chuckie's Punch.
01:06I will say, like, can-wise, although we don't really have the can yet to look at,
01:10the only thing I could actually find, though, was a bottle, and I found it at a gas station.
01:14But I will say, though, like from a marketing standpoint,
01:16the Fanta Chuckie's Punch does a better job, I think,
01:19of making it look at least something like Chuckie would be drinking.
01:22Not that Chuckie's branding necessarily the sodas that he's drinking himself,
01:26but I will say, though, like the soda here seems so underwhelming.
01:29First of all, we have Michael Myers here.
01:31I guess he's breaking through the label of the Fanta.
01:34Again, pineapple.
01:36Of all the things you could have chosen for Fanta and Michael Myers,
01:39why of all those things do you choose pineapple?
01:42I was even thinking to myself,
01:43what if they called it, like, Haddonberry Punch or Shaped Grape?
01:47Shaped Grape would have been perfect.
01:49Yeah, Fanta, if you want to reach out to me,
01:50I am available for all the marketing and all the ideas that you may need.
01:54Fanta's Shaped Grape, I think it would have shaped up to be a much better flavor
01:58than, again, a very disappointing pineapple.

02:55I think most people that probably are going to be picking this up for the fans,
02:58the fandom of Halloween, probably already have multiple physical media copies of Halloween 2.

03:08Pineapple, wrong flavor, wrong flavor for a Fanta.

03:13Now, I'm going to try not to be biased towards this,
03:15because just, again, my personal opinions towards pineapple flavor at anything is generally, generally low.
03:20If you were to look at the bottom, like a line graph,
03:22you would see my interest in other flavors would be generally high.
03:25Grape, orange, strawberry, yeah, even strawberry would be fine.
03:28But then when it starts to tank, when you get to, like, pina colada,
03:31and you get to pineapple.
03:32Pineapple sits really rather low.
03:34Let's go get this opened up.
03:36I don't have myself a glass.
03:37I probably should have prepped this in advance.

04:08It starts generally quite subtle.
04:10And then if I was, again, full of the line graph,
04:12my interest for pineapple would be down here.
04:15My flavor recognition of this, it would be generally balanced,
04:19and then all of a sudden there's a spike of pineapple at the very end of it.
04:23If you like the flavor of pineapple, I think it does a good enough job of,
04:27I mean, it doesn't feel and doesn't taste like artificial pineapple.
04:30I know, pineapple is a really hard thing, I think, to make artificial.
04:33You can taste right away if apple is artificial, watermelon is artificial,
04:37but pineapple generally stays, whether you like it or not,
04:40that, you know, again, it stays relatively leveled.
04:44It tastes like pineapple.
04:46Does it taste like something I would think that Michael Myers would be drinking himself?
04:48I don't even know if Michael Myers really does drink anything.
04:50Maybe Gatorade, just to keep, again, his energy going while he's going in,
04:54killing all those teens on Halloween night.
04:57But for a flavor of Fanta, I would say dropping the ball they have.
05:01Again, of all the flavors, could they not have just,
05:03if you're going to spend the time and the resources, Fanta, to source out a license,
05:09and let's just say you've reached out to the folks over at,
05:11who handle Halloween 2 right now, and you say,
05:13can we make a soda on behalf of Michael Myers and Halloween 2?
05:16Of course, they come back and they say, hey, that's a great idea.
05:18What do you have in mind?
05:19We were thinking, and wait for this, we were thinking pineapple.
05:24There's a dead silence on the other side of the, what's happening?
05:26Have they hung up the phone?
05:27Have they fallen out of their seats?
05:29Let's hope that they've fallen out of their seats.
05:30They come back and say, sure.
05:34Which right away, that's the big mistake.
05:36Coming up first with pineapple, and then on the other end, them saying, sure.
05:40When again, I think they could have been much more creative.
05:42Come up with a limited edition flavor.
05:44Hadden Berry.
05:45It could have been a wild berry flavor, Hadden Berry.
05:48It looks great.
05:49I just picture what that would look like on a bottle of maybe a purple labeled bottle,
05:54maybe Hadden Berry, or Shape Grape.
05:57Shape, it rhymes, Shape and Grape.
06:00They could have easily had this as a grape flavor Fanta.
06:02I'm sure there has been flavors of grape Fanta.
06:05Whether there has been flavors of pineapple, I would say if there has.
06:08Likely though, this was something that was probably expired years ago.
06:11They thought and realized there's not a market for people really generally interested in pineapple sodas.
06:16But maybe that's the smart thing on Fanta's part.
06:19They thought, okay, well, people that aren't liking pineapple,
06:22if we slap something on there that the horror fans are going to approach and gravitate towards,
06:27like, for example, Halloween 2.
06:28Like, for example, Michael Myers.
06:30Those would be things that a normal non-fan of pineapple flavored anything would likely then gravitate towards.
06:36I was a sucker.
06:37I know, I already knew going into this, I was generally not going to like the pineapple flavored soda.
06:41And I walk away feeling about the same.
06:44I would say, like, if you pick this up, pick it up knowing that you're probably going to be keeping this in a bottle.
06:48Or if you fare better, happen to find yourself a can of, which I've seen online,
06:53the can does look a little bit more impressive than the bottle.
06:56I mean, there's certainly more real estate space that you can fit the shape on the front of that.
07:00Like what we got, for example, with Chucky.
07:02It probably could go a little bit more interesting, I think, also with a can than you could really with just a label.
07:05Because this is only the amount of real estate space that we really have.
07:09As a whole, for a flavor, it's a big letdown.
07:11For the fact, though, it has Michael Myers and Halloween 2 on it,
07:14I think would maybe be enough that people would still be picking up,
07:17even after Halloween has fully wrapped up, which essentially it has.
07:21Even looking at my outdating calendar, Halloween now has wrapped up.
07:24Yet we're going to continue just a little bit longer, just a little bit longer,
07:28with some more spooky related videos coming your way.
