00:00He may not come included with a dart, but you may still want a dart to Walmart to grab one.
00:04Here's your look at the brand new Jazzwear Stranger Things Season 5, the Upside Down Collection, Dustin with Accessories.
00:23Keep the team united with the Stranger Things Dustin Henderson Upside Down Collective Figure.
00:27This authentically scaled 6-inch action figures based on the lovable Peacemaker's appearance in the fifth and final season of the hit series Stranger Things.
00:34It features 33-plus points of articulation and a soft, good clothing to highlight authentic character details.
00:39It also comes packed with alternate faceplates and unique character accessories to recreate the iconic moments from the show.
00:45He seems to come with a map.
00:47Bruh, I could have just told you you could have gone to Walmart to find this figure for yourself.
00:50Yeah, this 6-inch Dustin is available right now either in the stores of Walmart or you can also go online.
00:54Not really having the most success to find these in the stores, I did instead go to walmart.ca and I found them there.
01:00Both him, 11, and the Demogorgon all in 6-inch scale sell for $29.97, again in stores or online.
01:07Let's take the tape measure and see how Dustin stands.
01:09Then we'll bring in the already mentioned two other figures.
01:11Dustin with his hat on seems to stand at 6 inches in height, working out to be a figure that's 15 centimeters tall.
01:17Dustin here seems to represent the third and final figure of Wave 1 of the Jazzwear Stranger Things Upside Down Collection.
01:22We've just recently, in fact, actually this week, this week, we looked at 11, and prior to that, we also looked at the Demogorgon.
01:28Demogorgon obviously is going to be a little taller than the other two figures, but they all fit in scale with one another.
01:32Having one more accessory than 11's for before, Dustin does come and include with a backpack similar to 11, a flashlight, a map, a swappable faceplate, and a soft goods jacket.
01:40You know, whatever feelings I may have about the quality of plastic that Jazzwear's is choosing, and maybe while this sculpt may be somewhat questionable, having, though, the inclusion of soft goods jackets and also swappable faceplates elevates, I feel, this line, considering the figures only are about $30.
01:56I think by including those two things makes them feel like they're a little bit better of quality.
02:00The figure does have, first of all, a flashlight.
02:03Would you be surprised to believe that it's the exact same flashlight?
02:06I know you're probably looking at that and thinking, no, no, that's not the same flashlight.
02:0911's, though, was black and brown.
02:11Dustin's clearly is in silver.
02:13Well, no, I mean, the sculpting is the same.
02:15They just chose to use a different color of plastic.
02:1811's was really badly warped getting out of the packaging.
02:21Dustin's flashlight doesn't seem as bad.
02:23They both, though, seem like they're draining down on the batteries.
02:25What would you be using for batteries back then?
02:27All AAs?
02:28No, no, not AAs.
02:29You'd be using Ds.
02:30Nothing but Ds.
02:31What big, honking, expensive batteries?
02:34You drain these things down.
02:35Remember those big, blocked batteries?
02:37Then, of course, you would use the flashlight on top of that.
02:39Man, those things were so expensive.
02:41But yeah, the flashlight, though, seemed to be exactly the same.
02:43They also attach, though, while they sit inside the backpack the same way as well.
02:47I haven't yet removed Eleven's backpack, so you can see that Dustin's is quite a bit bigger, though.
02:52But it works, though, the exact same way.
02:54There's a front flap here that you can open up.
02:56And he definitely does have more compartment space inside.
02:59Probably more so because the figure does also come in with a map.
03:03I'm sure it's not to go to One-Eyed Willie's Castle or his ship out and see.
03:07But, though, it does give you a backpack space enough to store the map inside.
03:12And at least, unlike Eleven's, if you don't drop it on the floor, mind you,
03:15it does at least allow you to get the map out there a lot more easier.
03:19You can also take, of course, the flashlight.
03:20The flashlight does tuck in there, too.
03:23And then you can close it up.
03:24It will stick out a little bit more because, again, like, it's taking up a little bit more space now
03:28because, of course, I've got the flashlight and the map in there.
03:30But you can store both accessories in there.
03:32I like that.
03:33The backpack does have rubbery plastic for the straps.
03:36So, of course, that does fit over his body.
03:38Whether you want to, though, use the jacket or you don't want to just have the jacket on there altogether,
03:43it just slides up his arms the exact same way.
03:46Maybe what we'll do is I'll put it on right now so you guys can see what it looks like.
03:49And then I'll put the jacket on a little bit later.
03:51There's a little bit more room to grow.
03:53I mean, a little bit more room to go.
03:55I mean, the strap itself seems a little bit on the loose side for Dustin.
03:58But, again, it's much easier at least to get this on the figure's body than having super small straps.
04:03Super small straps.
04:04Let's put that off to the side.
04:06Dustin also comes in with his jacket.
04:09The jacket, I think, for what it is, it's not bad.
04:11It does have, again, little snaps here.
04:12But there are more images than anything else.
04:14These little loops that are actually on the belt are just pictures.
04:17They're not real things.
04:19Just all in your imagination.
04:20He does also have buttons on the sides.
04:22But, again, all in your imagination.
04:24It does fit over the figure's frame.
04:26And it fits the same way, though, as 11.
04:28I mean, basically, you just bring the arms back and slide those up the arms.
04:31I'll do that also in a second.
04:33The last thing, though, that Dustin does also come included with is a swappable face.
04:37Let's pick up the figure right now and show you guys the differences between the two.
04:40I would gather, though, that he's currently having a smiling face.
04:44Dustin, I hate to say, is probably in that awkward stage right now.
04:46We all have that moment.
04:48You know, you start to get those growth spurts.
04:50Parts of your body start to grow a little longer.
04:51Like his neck, for example.
04:53Oh, boy.
04:53We'll talk more about that in a moment.
04:55But, yeah, Dustin's sort of entering now into that awkward stage of growth.
04:59The face, I think, is a little more weirder on the defaulted head, defaulted face.
05:04I think this head sculpt is a little bit better of the two.
05:06Swapping out the faces, though, is just a case of popping the face off.
05:09Which I noticed, though, with Dustin's, his was a little harder to get off.
05:13And you kind of have to...
05:14Oh, let's not lose the face in the process.
05:17Pop that off.
05:17And what you'll get underneath, though, is a weird-looking ball joint.
05:21Because it's unlike Eleven.
05:23Eleven's...
05:23I'll just take that off for a second.
05:25Eleven actually did have, like, a little peg right here.
05:27But Dustin's literally seems to be sitting on a ball joint.
05:30How weird is that?
05:31It looks like some monster you could see from Doctor Who.
05:34Why are we referencing Doctor Who?
05:36But it sits more so on the ears.
05:38So if you look at the indentations here on the sides of his hair,
05:41that's sort of the thing that keeps this faceplate in place.
05:44I think it's definitely a better-looking head sculpt between the two.
05:47Where's the other face?
05:48Oh, it's down there.
05:48Can I reach it?
05:50I can't reach it.
05:51If only I had teleconnect powers.
05:53I don't have that yet.
05:55For the rest of the figure's body, again,
05:56this is kind of where things get a little more awkward with Dustin.
05:58I mean, again, he's got what really is a weird, long-looking neck.
06:02Why would you ever want to give a figure?
06:04Unless this is the way that the actor does look like in real life.
06:07If that's the case,
06:08he seems to be growing his neck a lot longer than everything else on his body.
06:12The neck, though, I think is just strangely,
06:15and not even stranger things strangely,
06:16just strangely, bizarrely longer than I think it needs to really be.
06:21He does have, again, like all the articulation where it counts.
06:23But I feel like, could we not have maybe shortened the length of the neck?
06:26I mean, not Florence Pooh level of neck length,
06:29but maybe, maybe make it a little shorter than what it actually is.
06:32The one other issue I really have with Dustin
06:34isn't so much so the fact the figure does have a Hellfire t-shirt.
06:37I like that.
06:38I want to get my own Hellfire Club t-shirt.
06:41The problem with it, though, is even though he has a ball joint,
06:43and I do appreciate that he does,
06:45it almost does really look like he's got,
06:47it's two separate figures from two completely different lines.
06:50By having so much space here in between his waist
06:52and the lower end of his abdomen,
06:54it almost does seem like they've slapped the top half of Dustin
06:57onto a lower half of another figure.
07:00It's just a weird-looking combination of just shapes and lengths
07:04and sizes that don't make sense.
07:06Between the neck and then just the abnormality
07:09of having, like, the waist sitting the way it is,
07:11it just looks, it makes Dustin look off-proportioned.
07:14Even more off-proportioned, I'm sure, than the actor is in real life.
07:17I mean, again, like, the colors look pretty good.
07:18I think they've done a nice job of using, like, the yellow here for the hat.
07:22I don't know if he actually is supposed to have anything on his hat
07:24or if it's supposed to be blank like this,
07:26but at the very least, they took the time to print on the Hellfire Club logo,
07:29and, again, I think that looks good.
07:31It gets, sadly, though, broken up the moment you start to move the figures around.
07:35I mean, again, you're going to start to cut the devil's face right in half.
07:38But all in all, I mean, like, it looks, face, the paint looks,
07:42I think, probably the best thing about Dustin.
07:44And I think even, like, this face looks a little bit better
07:46than the first one we start with,
07:47the other one that's just down on the floor right now.
07:49If, by the way, though, you did want to get his jacket on,
07:52we'll kind of look at that more in a second.
07:54Let's kind of run through the articulation here for the figure.
07:56Dustin's head, if you overlook the fact he's got such a long neck,
07:59is actually technically on a ball hinge joint.
08:01So you can move the head up and down.
08:03You can also move it back and forth as well.
08:04It's almost just a shame that you can actually just lower the head a little bit
08:07to draw less attention away from such the long giraffe neck that he has.
08:11He does also have a ball joint, really, at the base of his neck as well.
08:13You would hope, at the very least,
08:15the guy with a neck this long would also have a ball joint there as well.
08:17Well, the arms rotate all the way around.
08:19No issues there.
08:20You can also as well bring Dustin's arms out.
08:23The thing I've also noticed, too, is with Dustin's arms,
08:26the way they've curved down his shoulders,
08:28it looks even more strange when you bring his arms out.
08:30Again, it kind of even looks like his arms belong with another figure.
08:34Like, maybe are they the wrong length?
08:35Maybe they're too short for the rest of his body?
08:37Should his arms start stopped down there?
08:39What are we doing with Dustin's body?
08:41Stop that.
08:42But yeah, his arms do rotate all the way around.
08:44You can hinge them out.
08:44There's a swivel here at the bicep, a double hinge on the elbow.
08:47That's not bad at all.
08:48And hands rotate all the way around.
08:49Are they still using, though, the softer plastic?
08:52You know, surprisingly, not as much.
08:54I mean, it's weird, though, when you look at, like, Eleven.
08:56Look at, like, Eleven's fingers and the soft plastic that they've used here.
08:59And I criticize with Eleven that she just sort of felt like she had that kind of gummy plastic.
09:04Dustin, strangely, though, enough, doesn't have that.
09:07He doesn't have that sort of flexible plastic in his hands.
09:11He certainly doesn't feel like he has that either in his legs.
09:13It's almost like they're using a completely different plastic between Eleven and Dustin.
09:17Still, though, the figure does have, like I said, a hinge back and forth.
09:20You can rotate the hand all the way around.
09:22He has an upper torso ball joint.
09:24So, you know, take with that what you would want.
09:26I mean, again, you can rotate the figure's torso back and forth, up and down there as well.
09:29He's got an upper, he's got a lower abdomen ball joint, too.
09:32And as awkward as that may then look, again, you've got some fair bit of flexibility there.
09:37The legs do split out.
09:39There's ball joints there.
09:39But, again, like it does that weird thing that when you bring the legs out or you bring them forward or back, it always drops the legs down.
09:45I guess in one way it allows Dustin to sit down on the job.
09:48But, I mean, if you're not going to be giving it any, like, vehicles or anything like that, not that I necessarily need vehicles for Stranger Things.
09:54But it just seems weird, though, that they have dropped down legs like this if you really can't do...
09:58I mean, again, like, if you want to do high kicks, I suppose you can pull that off.
10:01But it's always just more of a cumbersome issue than it is anything else.
10:05There's a swivel there at the top of the thigh.
10:07The figure does have a double hinge on the knee.
10:09And then ankle articulation, which, again, is not a bad thing at all.
10:12And there's also a rocker there as well.
10:14Peggels on the bottoms of Dustin's feet.
10:15The same way, though, that Eleven also had peggels on the bottoms of her feet.
10:19Let's get him all dressed up.
10:20He's going out on the town.
10:22Probably investigating something with the map that we just put inside his backpack.
10:25But if we take his arms, we bring them back just a little bit.
10:28We're going to want to slide those arms inside the sleeves.
10:32Get them all the way in there.
10:33It's like dressing, again, a tiny, tiny little child.
10:35I mean, that's a pretty small child.
10:37That's a child that you could put in your pocket.
10:39Go to the park.
10:39Where's your kid?
10:41Oh, I just put the kid in my pocket.
10:43It's that small of a child.
10:45Let's get it around the thumb, though.
10:46The thumb's kind of getting in the way of things.
10:48I guess you probably could have taken the hands off.
10:50I'd just kind of keep everything on instead.
10:52That's what Dustin looks like.
10:53I mean, he still fully retains the articulation.
10:56Yes, I know, again, like just pretty much have used images for the buttons.
10:59And just again, like they've done the same for the back.
11:01I don't expect necessarily then to start add tiny, tiny little buttons, tiny, tiny little
11:05loops on the back of the jacket.
11:07That's added cost.
11:08That's cost that that would go into the price of the figure.
11:10And then instead of having Dustin being a figure that sits though close to around $30,
11:14he actually would then probably sit around, I don't know, what, $35, $38 for all those
11:18little attention to detail.
11:20I think the attention to detail, though, of Dustin are okay.
11:23Again, he sort of seems like he's an amalgamation of weird kind of choices.
11:28Maybe the choice for giving him a longer neck had a lot to do with just the way that that's
11:31maybe the way the actor is right now.
11:32He's getting through that awkward growth stage.
11:35Maybe they also chose to give him a longer neck because he has a collar on the top of
11:39his jacket.
11:40But, you know, again, like we looked at Eleven.
11:42Eleven didn't seem to have that.
11:43And, you know, when you look at the scaling of the two figures, is this the right size between
11:47actors and actresses that Eleven, in fact, Millie Bobby Brown is that much taller than
11:51Dustin in real life?
11:52He certainly isn't as tall, though, as even though that's not Dart.
11:55He's not certainly as tall, though, as the Demogorgon.
11:58It's an okay line.
11:59I mean, it's, I mean, again, like it's, it's hot or cold for me.
12:02Like, I think some figures have done a little bit better.
12:03There are aspects.
12:04I think I like a little bit more to Eleven.
12:06Dustin, I think maybe pulls off not a bad face, but like just, again, thrown together
12:11weird proportions.
12:13Like where Eleven, for example, just had what she didn't have necessarily, like the articulation
12:17wasn't, though, in her waist.
12:19Dustin had that.
12:20But I guess the tradeoff with having articulation then in the waist is that he looks like the
12:24top half of his body belongs to another figure and the lower half belonged to somebody else.
12:28I feel like Dustin, unlike Eleven, better suits wearing his jacket more for necessity than
12:33anything else.
12:33It draws a lot more attention away from the fact he's got an extremely long neck.
12:38And I had to look online.
12:39Gaden Matarazzo, who played Dustin in the series, the long, how long has it been since we first
12:45started watching Stranger Things?
12:46I mean, it feels like the show's been running for at least 20 years, but now we're coming
12:49up to season five, the final and ending of the season and series.
12:53But yeah, I mean, Gaden doesn't look like he's actually got a super long neck.
12:57So that probably was just the choice of jazz words that they chose just to gave Dustin reasons
13:02unknown, reasons unknown, a very long neck.
13:05Between the length of the neck and then the awkwardness that he has in his abdomen area,
13:09we're drawing more, though, attention to the fact that this character seems just a mismatch,
13:13bunch of parts all kind of coming together.
13:15His arms are, again, one thing that, unlike Eleven, it's weird, though, that they're using a
13:19harder plastic for Dustin's hands, and yet they used more of a gummier plastic for Eleven.
13:23It's just strange, strange choices on Jazzwear's part.
13:26Still, though, if you guys are interested and you would like to get Dustin for yourself,
13:29the previously looked at Eleven, or previous, previous to that, the also Demogorgon, the
13:33six-inch versions of them are available either in Walmart, I'm sure they're probably also
13:37available in other places as well, or you can also go, what I ended up doing, just go
13:41to Walmart.ca, and they're available there.
13:43$29.97, that'd be the price that it sets you back.
13:46I'm speaking, though, as a Canadian collector.
13:48Some could say that's really high.
13:49I think, again, they're kind of offsetting some of the expenses and the cost of producing
13:53these figures by throwing in soft goods jackets, by also including swappable faceplates, that
13:59if those things weren't included with the figures in the first place, let's just say,
14:01like, Dustin only had a flashlight and only had a backpack, I would probably say, like,
14:06$30, I don't know, Jazzwear seems a bit more on the steeper side, but by then also including
14:11those two things mentioned before, the faceplate and the jacket, I kind of feel, again, like it
14:15offsets some of the sting of paying $30 for a figure.
14:19And in the end, it's not a bad Dustin, I don't think it's maybe as good as 11, it's
14:24sort of middle of the mark.
14:26Middle of the mark so far is my takeaway, my walk away, when it comes to what we've gotten
14:30so far from Jazzwares and Stranger Things.
14:32You guys agree with that?
14:33Disagree with that?
14:34It's okay.
14:34You don't have to agree with anything, everything I've necessarily said.
14:38But what do you guys think of the Jazzwear so far when it comes to 6-inch or the 4-inch
14:41Stranger Things Season 5, upside-down collection, whatever you want to call it, what do you
14:45guys think of this line so far?
14:46If, in the meantime, you guys also did enjoy this video, come on now, do it assault, throw
14:50it a like.
14:50If you guys want to stick around for more so, I certainly hope so, certainly hope so.
14:53There's going to be more videos coming your way, not necessarily Stranger Things related,
14:56but there will be more content coming your way.
14:59As always, thanks for watching, see you guys next time.
15:02We'll see you next time.
