00:00Oh, great. We ran out of days. Oh, we ran out of kids.
00:03Here's your spooky spot on the Scream Factory Halloween 3 Season of the Witch Steelbook Edition Amazon Exclusive.
00:08We ran out of kids.
00:38It came to Halloween 3. This came out late October, more around October 24th.
00:43So by the time that I had the pre-order already being fulfilled and this had arrived to my doorstep,
00:47I had no time, in fact, not only to watch the Steelbook Edition this year,
00:52but unfortunately, though, I never even got around to watching Halloween 3 Season of the Witch.
00:55What seems to be, though, an annual tradition for me, this marks the one year,
00:59the first Halloween in a long time,
01:01I never got the chance to see what exactly happens at the Silver Shamrock Factory.
01:06Speaking of the Silver Shamrock Factory, I'm having a hard time getting that all out.
01:10You can see, though, some of the robots feature in the front of one of the pieces of Stonehenge.
01:15Now, you can also see as well the skull.
01:17That's, I'm sure, probably around Dr. Chalice.
01:20Before, of course, he throws it over top of the camera.
01:22This is a Steelbook Edition,
01:23which really isn't that much different than the previous,
01:27I'm just going to grab it right now,
01:28the previous Scream Factory Halloween 3 Season of Witch,
01:31which, much like Halloween 2, I've still kept.
01:33I just like the cover art of this, even if I am going to be upgrading it.
01:37I don't really think I want to get rid of these.
01:39One thing, though, if you do choose to get rid of these,
01:41you'll notice that a lot of the features are going to be exactly the same,
01:44and we'll kind of talk more about that in a moment.
01:46Previous, though, exploits this Humber reviewer,
01:48as we picked up the Steelbook Editions.
01:50We first had a look,
01:52if I just grab everything, get myself, get my act together.
01:54We first had a look at the Halloween,
01:56the original 1970 Halloween Steelbook Edition,
01:59which is, again, a 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray limited edition Steelbook.
02:04The J-Card is the one thing that's sort of, again, flopping around.
02:07I do find, I wish there was a way that, really,
02:09you could attach a J-Card onto the back.
02:11Like, even if they add the little gummy pieces,
02:13that, again, if you add your J-Card still stuck to that,
02:15that would be fine.
02:16But the J-Card removing it,
02:17at least you get the chance to see the front,
02:18image, which, again, we've already had a look at,
02:20and the back image.
02:22Both of them do open up,
02:23and on the inside, you have your 4K Ultra HD,
02:26and behind that, you've got your Blu-ray.
02:28If we open up both sides, though,
02:30you can see that Michael Myers is escaping
02:31at the very beginning of the movie.
02:33Again, a strange choice, I feel, for the front cover art,
02:36but then one that made a little bit more sense,
02:38you've got the Myers house on the background.
02:40And again, when you open up the two,
02:41you have the shape, making quite the shape.
02:44Then we followed up things,
02:45and again, we're not going to get too much in-depth with,
02:47we already had to look at all of these,
02:48we had to look at the Halloween II Steelbook edition.
02:50Again, an Amazon exclusive.
02:52On the front, we have, again,
02:53weird that Michael Myers is walking away
02:55from the train wreck that would be Ben Tramer's life.
02:58It's exhausting, extinguishing.
03:01Speaking of extinguishing,
03:02it doesn't look like they actually put that fire
03:03at any time in the movie.
03:04So again, like, it's weird that Michael Myers
03:06is walking away from the train wreck.
03:08On the back, though,
03:09we have Laurie Strode walking towards the,
03:11well, I shouldn't even say walking.
03:12Walking would be a poor choice of words.
03:13She's crawling her way back to Haddonfield Memorial.
03:16Of course, Loomis has already gone inside.
03:20Held at gunpoint, by the way,
03:21the deputy that was coming to escort him away
03:23from Haddonfield.
03:24And again, with this,
03:25you can open it up on both sides.
03:27The Steelbook does have on the inside,
03:29by the way, the 4K Ultra HD, the Blu-ray,
03:31but it does also have the DVD television cut,
03:34which I do wish, though,
03:35that the Halloween 1974 could have had something similar,
03:38where they would have had a separate one
03:39that had a television version on it.
03:41But still, though, you get three discs,
03:43the front and the back.
03:44So again, like, these are nice-looking Steelbooks.
03:46The thing that kind of did bother me, though,
03:48was when we looked at the original 1974,
03:50you'll see that it didn't only have
03:52the half side of the shape's face.
03:54Then in Halloween II, it has the full shape.
03:56What's odd, then, about that
03:58is when you look at this one,
03:59they've actually got only just the skeletal mask
04:02on one side.
04:03So I guess it does complete the trio, the trilogy,
04:05but it does in such an odd way
04:07that it looks like Michael Myers
04:09is morphing into a skeleton.
04:10This also tells me, too,
04:12based at least on looking at this,
04:13that they probably don't have any plans
04:14for any additional Steelbooks.
04:16A four or five, a six at the very most
04:18would certainly be cool,
04:19but based at least on this,
04:21I would make the assumption
04:21that they're probably only going to be doing
04:23the first three.
04:24Without further ado, though,
04:25let's go ahead and cut the plastic wrap on this,
04:27as, of course, we're being joined
04:28by the Soul Sucking Candle.
04:30Yes, we are continuing along
04:31with the spooky spot season,
04:33even though we've now passed all the October.
04:36We're still going to continue.
04:37I would hope, though,
04:38not into December,
04:39because we've already got other videos
04:40planned for December,
04:41but at the very least,
04:42we might maybe make some treadway
04:44through at least the first week,
04:45maybe the first two weeks of November.
04:47We'll see really how many more things
04:48we have to get kind of get through.
04:50As we do this, though,
04:51let's go ahead and take the wrap off.
04:53Not to damage, though, the J card.
04:55The J card, again,
04:56like these don't ever stay
04:57on top of the back of the case.
04:58Oh, that's kind of a cool back case, though.
05:01So, again, like we've got ourselves
05:02the 4K Ultra HD
05:03and we've got the Blu-ray
05:04limited edition steelbook.
05:05Let's just put that off to the side.
05:07On the front cover, though,
05:08again, we have the four,
05:09five robots, five robots.
05:11I wonder if Dick Warlock is one of them.
05:13And then on the back,
05:14we've got the Silver Shamrock Factory.
05:16I like the artwork.
05:17And if we open this up,
05:19we are treated to the Ultra 4K,
05:22the 4K Ultra HD.
05:23And then just behind that,
05:24we also have the Blu-ray.
05:26This is also, again,
05:27come to us from Scream Factory.
05:28So, the Blu-ray is essentially
05:30going to be the same Blu-ray
05:31that's going to be on this one as well.
05:33Like the interior artwork there as well.
05:36Again, like if we just open it on both sides,
05:38I mean, it's an impressive enough artwork
05:40that even if you already have
05:41the previous physical media releases
05:43of Halloween 1, 2, and then 3,
05:45I think it's still a nice, cool way
05:47to upgrade these
05:47because you're getting
05:48not only the movies from before,
05:49but you're also getting
05:50the Ultra Upgraded 4K scans
05:52and you're getting these
05:54cool steelbook editions.
05:55So, how do they all look together?
05:57Well, again, we have one,
05:58we have now two,
05:59and we now have three.
06:00And again, you put them all together.
06:02It's weird.
06:03It's a little on the weird side
06:04that they chose to go
06:05the way that they did.
06:06I mean, half heads would have been fine,
06:08but it just sort of looks weird to have.
06:10I'm one that, you know,
06:11looking at something like this,
06:12this would just continue
06:13to bother me on the shelf.
06:14I know there's probably people
06:15looking at this thinking like,
06:15why would this bother?
06:16Why let this sit so heavy
06:18on your shoulders?
06:19Well, it's just something.
06:20I mean, again, like I'm looking at this.
06:21I would really like
06:22if they could have just done half heads.
06:24I don't know.
06:25Come up with one,
06:26some uniformity with all of them
06:28so that they're not all different
06:29from one another.
06:31Again, you got Halloween 1, 2, and 3.
06:34And then on the back,
06:35again, we've already had a look at that.
06:36For the actual features,
06:39the disc one includes
06:40the 4K scan of the original camera,
06:42negative,
06:42improved by cinematographer,
06:44Dean Cundey,
06:45presented in Dolby Vision
06:46and Dolby Atmos.
06:48We've got audio commentary
06:49with writer-director,
06:50Tommy Lee Wallace,
06:51audio commentary
06:52with actor Tom Atkins.
06:54For your disc two,
06:56Blu-ray scan,
06:57you've got the 4K scan
06:58of the original camera,
06:59negative,
06:59approved by Dean Cundey,
07:00presented in Dolby Atmos.
07:03You've also got the audio commentary
07:05with Tommy Lee Wallace.
07:05So again,
07:06essentially the exact same thing
07:07on both disc one and disc two.
07:09You got the audio commentary
07:10with Tom Atkins,
07:11again, the same.
07:12Trick-or-Treats and Terror,
07:13the masks of Halloween 3,
07:16season of The Witch,
07:17interview with Justin Mabry
07:19of Trick-or-Treats Studios,
07:20Stand Alone,
07:21the making of Halloween 3,
07:22season of The Witch,
07:23featuring Tommy Lee Wallace,
07:24actors Tom Atkins
07:25and Stacey Nelkin,
07:27stunt coordinator Dick Warlock,
07:29Dean Cundey,
07:30and more.
07:31We also got Halloween's
07:32Horde Hollow Grounds,
07:33revisiting the original
07:34shooting locations
07:35with host Sean Clark
07:36and Tommy Lee Wallace,
07:38Makeup from Scratch.
07:39We've also got the interviews
07:40with Makeup Effects
07:41artist Tom Berman,
07:43teaser trailer,
07:44theatrical trailer,
07:45TV spots,
07:45radio spots,
07:46newspaper ad still,
07:47gallery,
07:48by Drive-In Asylum,
07:49movie stills gallery,
07:50poster,
07:51and lobby cards gallery.
07:53It's kind of always
07:53really interesting
07:54that they include
07:54lobby cards as a gallery
07:55and not the lobby cards
07:56inside.
07:58If we, though,
07:59compare the features,
08:00some of the things
08:01that we will still get the same
08:02are the audio commentary
08:03with actor Tom Atkins,
08:04the standalone,
08:05the making of Halloween 3,
08:06season of The Witch,
08:07is also on this as well.
08:09If I really was to go
08:10back and forth
08:11and looking at them,
08:11they have, again,
08:12a lot of the same,
08:13pretty much all the same
08:14features on both the discs.
08:16I don't think there really
08:17is one that's different
08:18from one to the other.
08:20Makeup, maybe,
08:21the makeup effects
08:22might be the only thing
08:23that's different.
08:24The makeup effects
08:25from scratch,
08:25interview with makeup effects
08:27artist Tom Berman,
08:28which I don't think
08:29is actually on the original one.
08:31Other than that, though,
08:32again,
08:32the Horace Hollowed Grounds
08:34is still there,
08:35the director's photography
08:35is still on there,
08:37commentary is still there,
08:38teaser trailer,
08:38theatrical trailer,
08:39TV, radio spots,
08:40and still galleries
08:42are still featured on both.
08:44So if you already have,
08:45like, for example,
08:46this one,
08:46I would say really
08:47the only maybe reason
08:48to start sourcing out
08:49an upgrade
08:50is, first of all,
08:51you get the Ultra 4K
08:52upscans
08:53of the original negatives
08:54and you also get the benefit
08:55of having
08:55some pretty cool
08:56steelbook art.
08:58These are, again,
08:59available right now
08:59as Amazon exclusives.
09:01I went back,
09:02I went back,
09:02and I checked just to see
09:03if Halloween 2
09:04and if Halloween 1
09:05were still available.
09:06As of right now,
09:07they are still available
09:08on Amazon's site.
09:09So if you want to get yourself
09:10some pretty cool-looking
09:11steelbook editions,
09:12they are available right now.
09:13What I can also say
09:15as we kind of wrap up
09:15this review too,
09:16what was rather interesting though
09:18is I think the price
09:18has gone up
09:19in the Halloween 3
09:19season of The Witch.
09:20I think right now
09:21it shows a little over $60.
09:23At the time though
09:24I ordered this,
09:25it was more around $40.
09:26So I'm wondering though
09:27if maybe they're meeting
09:28the demands
09:29by increasing,
09:30hiking up the prices,
09:31which if that's the case,
09:32I think that's wrong.
09:33Amazon should keep the price
09:35the way that it was
09:35at the time of the pre-order
09:36because if you look right now,
09:38I think it's actually
09:39sitting more around $60,
09:40at least here in Canada.
09:42Definitely not worth that.
09:43But if you can find these
09:44a little over $40,
09:45I think they're well worth
09:46the price.
09:47What do you guys think of these?
09:48Let me know down below
09:48in the comments section.
09:49Have you guys at all

10:15for next year,
10:17we're going to still be doing
10:18chugging along,
10:19chugging along
10:19like little locomotives,
10:21chugging along
10:21to making new content
10:22that's going to be coming away
10:23for the rest of Spottober,
10:25even though it's going to be
10:25overlapping a little bit
