00:27we're going to talk in 2025 lord willing we'll be back tomorrow in 2026 but uh i just want to share
00:33something with you as we go into this new year's eve which we look back on the year 2025 and
00:38everything that came before i just wanted to remind you what first john 1 9 says reminds us
00:44that if we confess our sins god is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all
00:49unrighteousness meaning once we truly confess our sins or what does that mean it means we say the
00:54same thing about the sin in our life that god says about it if the bible calls it sin if jesus
01:00makes it clear that something is sin if god's word makes it clear that something in our life is sin
01:04we call it sin and then we confess it we ask for forgiveness for it which leads us to repentance
01:10where we turn away from it so guys the bible makes it clear if you've got sin in your life if you've
01:16been dealing with sin in your life confess it to god ask for forgiveness and then remember it no more
01:22too many of us drag around our past the enemy loves to remind us of all the sin that we've
01:28struggled with throughout our lives guys it's time to leave that stuff in 2025 as we go on to 2026
01:33we can go into it with a clean slate forgiven confess your sins to god ask for forgiveness genuine
01:40confession genuine asking of forgiveness and then lead that to genuine repentance where we turn away
01:47from our sin through the power of the holy spirit we overcome it we don't have to take that sin with
01:52us into 2026 we also don't have to take guilt and shame and all that stuff with us into 2026
01:58confess it to god be cleansed of all unrighteousness and let's go into 2026 with a brand new start a
02:05fresh clean slate loving god loving the kingdom and living a life that's pleasing to god man i love
