00:10Pastor Randy here. Great to be back with you today for our next episode of Making It Simple.
00:16We're talking in this new lesson that we've been looking at called Victory. We're coming
00:21through this series that we began with the reality of evil, and then we moved into what
00:27is good, and now we're kind of tying it all together with victory. This is based off John
00:3516, 33, where Jesus said, I have told you these things, and we've been breaking down that
00:42statement, and we're going to just continue that today. What we left off with last week
00:48when we were together was evil is real. We've come to know that, not just through the teaching,
00:55but through life. We know that that is true, and we're seeing it more and more and more
01:00now as it's exposed right before us, some of the horrendous things that goes on in this
01:07life. But while evil is real, where we find comfort in the words of Christ is it will not
01:14win. How can we say that with a surety? I mean, you know, because there's so many different,
01:22there's so many different, not just translations and explanations and all the other things out
01:28there, but where do we find, friends, we've got to look for answers. That's why scripture
01:33says, seek and you will find. It's an action statement. It's not that it just falls in your
01:38lap, and it's certainly not just because someone else tells you or their version. See, that's
01:44what the problem sometimes is, is we get a lot of versions. You need to look. I need to
01:52look. That's why Jesus, and there's another broadcast that I'm a part of, and that's why
01:58he says, follow me. That's singular. We've got a whole ton of things that are vying for our
02:11attention and multiple others who are saying, follow me. I don't do that because I'm not
02:19worthy of following, and neither is anybody else. That's why Jesus must be our example.
02:25Jesus said, I have told you these things so that. Those two words, so that, as that's added
02:34to this statement, what that's telling us is, there's a purpose behind the words that I
02:43give you. So that. So it's going to result in something. I have told you these things so
02:50that in me, there's the source of our answer. There it is. Okay, so we find this all-encompassing
03:02passage, just one verse, that it states the problem. It states the resolution. It states
03:09the reality, which points back to the resolution. It's all in one thing. I have told you these
03:15things so that in me, you may. Now, again, so, so, well, pastor, I mean, really every word,
03:24yes. And I'll tell you why. Again, it's not to somehow look at some level of great intelligence.
03:32No, it's about looking at the practicality of what we've been given. Okay, so what we can
03:38find, oftentimes when we're talking to people, their words, their demeanor, their attitude
03:45will tell you everything you need to know. Everything. What the agenda is. What is the
03:51reality behind what is being said? What we find in the words of Christ is there's none
03:59of that. It's about pointing everyone that will listen, everyone that will hear, in a
04:06better place. He said, I've told you these things, so I'm willing to do so. In fact, I
04:13want to do so to help you. And I'm telling you these things so that there's a reason in
04:20me. So you have an answer. You have a resource. You may. Now, again, this is personal. It is
04:28direct. But what we find in the statement you may is it leaves us with a choice. It leaves
04:40us with a decision attached. You may. The word may there I find very, very interesting
04:49because may, it's an offering of an opportunity. You may have this. Okay, what do I have to do
05:01to get it? You may have that. Okay, where is it located? You may, if you decide to listen,
05:14if you decide to hear what I'm telling you, if you believe what I'm telling you. This is
05:21the understanding of the teachings of Jesus because today we don't believe anything. Let's
05:29just be really honest. Okay? You don't believe anything that you hear today. Why? Because
05:37it's not believable. There's skepticism behind everything that you hear, whether it's political,
05:42whether it's entertainment, whether it's science, all this stuff. There's a skepticism behind everything
05:51because, number one, seeing is not always believing. And number two, it's been proven we've been lied to
06:00about everything. Here what we find is Jesus being very, very practical. All right? He's not trying to
06:10sell us anything. He's saying, I've told you these things, so I'm being up front with you
06:18so that in me, there's our focus back to a singular thing in me. It's the only place you're going
06:27to
06:27find it. It doesn't exist anywhere else. This is why later he would teach, no one comes into the
06:33Father but by me. What was he? We're going to teach about that soon. Here he's saying, if you believe
06:41what I'm telling you, if you'll just trust me, he said, I'm telling you these things so that in me
06:47you may have peace. How many people today are seeking that very thing? That very thing, peace.
06:57And I'm not talking about a movement, an era. I'm not talking about the absence of conflict in the
07:04world because as long as there's people, that will probably never go away. He's talking about peace
07:09within. A settlement of my heart, a settlement of my heart, mind, and soul that it's going to be okay.
07:24On our own, we cannot obtain that because of what I said before, the skepticism about it. I don't believe
07:33that. And we're not even talking about conspiracy stuff, all right? Which, to be honest with you,
07:40a lot of this has been proven to be true. And just unfortunately, people call it conspiracy because
07:45they want to continue to hide the lies. But that's for a whole different broadcast, maybe in a whole
07:49different platform. But here, Jesus is talking about within yourself, within you. You won't find the
07:59answers anywhere else. You're not going to read this or read that or listen to this or listen and find
08:06you're not going to. That's why it says in me. Seeking and finding out who the person of Christ is.
08:14What did he come to establish? What did he what did he set forth as clear answers that we can
08:21decipher
08:22through the different things we've given? Here, peace, what he's telling us, peace, is a reality.
08:29It can happen. You can have that within you. Evil does not have to win. It doesn't have to have
08:37the
08:37victory over our life. There is an answer. And if we read what he says in totality, we're going to
08:46read
08:47this again together. I encourage you to take this one verse, friends. There's something here. It's
08:54deep. It's profound. He says, I, again, this is a singular source. We have to get back to the
09:01understanding of that. I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace.
09:16There's the answer. It's right there. In that truth, the good news, if you will, the offering,
09:26the sharing. Well, what does that, what does that set us up for?
09:36The reality of what's next. And that's the next part of this verse. And we'll talk more about that
09:40when we come back together tomorrow. Because what he's doing is setting the stage and letting us know,
09:45okay, I'm giving you the anchor. I didn't tell you there wasn't a storm coming. Because I'm not going
09:51to lie to you. Life is going to be just that sometimes. But I'm telling you that in me,
09:57we can ride down it. We can ride through it. We can make it. If you trust me, it all
10:02goes back to
10:03that, which ultimately always, always, always points us back to relationship. We'll talk more
10:09about that tomorrow when we come back right here at Making It Simple. God bless you. Have a great day.
10:22God bless you.
