00:15The Dead Sea, the lowest point on planet Earth once described as a well-watered plain like
00:36the Garden of the Lord.
00:38Nearly 4,000 years ago, the crust of the earth split open and out of its bowels belched fire
00:44and brimstone that rained down upon the cities of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboi.
00:51Abraham stood in the door of his tent on the other side of these mountains and watched
00:55as the cities and their inhabitants were incinerated in the inferno.
00:59The Jordan River continues to wash minerals from the highlands of Israel into this dead-end
01:04chasm.
01:05And what appeared to be distant, nondescript rock formations out in the middle of the sun-parched
01:10Israeli desert turns out to be the ashen remains of the cities of the plain, found still standing
01:16and covered with millions of chunks of brimstone.
01:19I'm Michael Rood, prepare for a Rood Awakening.

01:31of the world that the peace sank toward the earth is based on the
01:51In the book of Genesis we read that God instructed Abraham to leave the land of Babylon and its
02:05perverted system of sun god worship.
02:08The Almighty had already confused the languages and scattered the inhabitants of Babylon to
02:13slow down the development of Nimrod's political, economic and religious world government system.
02:19The worship of Nimrod's son, Tammuz, the reincarnated sun god, and the worship of Nimrod's wife,
02:26reincarnated as Ishtar, were both fragmented into divergent cults at the Tower of Babel.
02:32For thousands of years religiously motivated military campaigns kept these once unified
02:37peoples from joining forces to rebuild the one world government that Nimrod had begun.
02:44Raised in the land of Shinar, Abraham was instructed to leave Babylon behind, crossing over the
02:49Euphrates River into a land that God would give his descendants.
02:53Abraham became the first Hebrew, Hebrew meaning to cross over, when he crossed over the Euphrates,
02:59leaving Babylonian paganism far behind.
03:03The Hebrew scriptures from Genesis to Revelation clearly define God's intention to purge pagan
03:08sun god worship from the land promised Abraham and then from the entire earth.
03:14The Creator has determined the purpose of life, and he states emphatically how he does and
03:19does not wish to be worshiped.
03:25Abraham was 75 years old when he left Babylon bringing his nephew Lot and their families with
03:31him.
03:32Upon entering the land, Lot joined himself to a prosperous culture that had developed on this
03:37land, then fertile plain.
03:41Lot took up residence in the city of Sodom.
03:44The prophet Ezekiel said that the sin of Sodom was pride, fullness of bread, and abundance
03:49of idleness.
03:50She did not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
03:53They were haughty and committed abominations.
03:56Sorry for this rude interruption, but if you want to know how to get on the bad side of the
04:01God Almighty, search the scriptures for what God calls an abomination.
04:05The word abomination is translated from the harshest words in the Hebrew language, tovah
04:11and shiketz, and they mean perverted, disgusting, repulsive, sick, putrid, vile.
04:17You get the picture.
04:19Their self-indulgent lifestyle led to a perversion named after the city, Sodomy, commonly known
04:25today as homosexuality.
04:28Abraham was forewarned that the sin of Sodom might have reached the point that divine intervention
04:32was required.
04:33Two angels, who appeared as men, left Abraham's tent to see what was transpiring in the city
04:38of Sodom.
04:40Upon arrival, the angels were welcomed into the home of Lot, but an aroused group of homosexual
04:45men demanded that Lot send these strangers out to them so that they could rape them.
04:50Lot refused, so they attacked him on his front porch.
04:54The angels pulled Lot to safety inside the house and smote the entire mob with blindness.
05:00The scriptures record that they wore themselves out as they groped the house looking for the
05:04door.
05:05At sunrise, the angels took Lot, his wife, and two daughters by the hands, dragging them
05:11away from the city.
05:12Soon, fire and brimstone rained down from heaven, turning the city into a raging inferno.
05:18That is when some scientists believed that the 3,000-mile Great Rift Valley was formed,
05:23when the earth's crust fractured and belched fire and brimstone into the heavens.
05:28As the brimstone showered down upon the cities, Abraham saw the smoke of Sodom rise up in the
05:33distance.
05:34But until the smoke cleared, Abraham had no idea that Lot was saved from destruction.
05:40The buildings, streets, and walkways throughout the land of Israel are constructed primarily
06:02of what is commonly referred to as Jerusalem stone.
06:06Like the walls of the ancient city of Jerusalem behind me, a calcium rock which is as abundant
06:11in Israel as stray cats in the old city.
06:14And if you've ever been here, you know what I mean.
06:17The inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah would no doubt have taken advantage of this most common
06:22building material for their homes, palaces, and fortress walls, just as is used throughout
06:28the land today.
06:29Archaeologists contribute Sodom and Gomorrah's overt wealth to the flourishing vegetation and
06:40the commercial value of the asphalt pits found in this once lush valley.
06:46Asphalt oozing from deep in the earth turns this wadi into a surreal landscape.
06:52The builders of the cities on this plain had access to an unlimited supply of asphalt with
06:59which to cement their buildings into indestructible fortresses.
07:03Indestructible until burning brimstone rained from the sky igniting the asphalt mortar and
07:09turning the city into a furnace.
07:11Calcium plus sulfur plus fire yields gypsum ash, and that is exactly what remains of these
07:26cities.
07:27These structures appear as rock formations from a distance, but those who venture out into
07:32this deserted, lion-prowed wasteland soon find their trek to become laborious as they sink
07:38ankle-deep in this gypsum ash.
07:42When this ash is subjected to flame, it does not even change color.
07:47It has already been completely consumed.
07:59Substances burned with sulfur can have a higher remaining ash weight than the original substance.
08:04In fact, I may explain, in part, how this sphinx-shaped object and others like them can remain standing
08:09throughout the centuries.
08:10The layers of ash, twisted and warped by the intense heat, finally settle into a form that
08:15much resembles the original object.
08:18The minimal rainfall on this desert contributes to the longevity of these structures, slowly compacting
08:24the layers of ash through the centuries.
08:27A 90-degree angle rarely occurs in nature, a phenomenon that we diligently search for when
08:38looking for a man-made artifact.
08:40And on this plateau, we observe two identical elongated pyramids, which highlight the grand
08:46entry into the temple site here at Gomorrah.
08:49They are identical in length, width, height, and angle of incline, an impossible combination
08:56for a naturally occurring rock formation.
09:00The entire area surrounding Gomorrah is rock.
09:03These are the mountains of Judea, and we are standing on the remains of Herod's mountain
09:08fortress of Masada.
09:10At its base are the stone cordoned encampments of the Roman army, that besieves the Jewish
09:16zealots who were barricaded on this mountain after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 of
09:21the Common Era.
09:23The Romans encamped on the gravel bed of this surrounding plain.
09:27But the city of Gomorrah, beyond these encampments, is unique in its structure and composition.
09:33Walls, buildings, and temple structures reminiscent of the ancient temples of Babylon are preserved
09:39as heavy gypsum ash.
09:42Moses referred to the condition of this area by saying,
09:45The Lord overthrew Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zebulim in His anger and wrath.
09:51The whole land is brimstone and salt and ashes.
09:55It is not sown, nor bears fruit, nor grows any grass.
10:00Desert gazelles scrap a meager menu from the stubble that grows from the bottom of the
10:28wadis, dry river beds that are occasionally flooded by rainwater cascading from the Judean
10:34mountains.
10:35The gazelles scour the wadis in search of vegetation, but occasionally paw the ash on the plateaus
10:43to find a nutritious treat.
11:11This is a natural mineral salt lick, the salt of which Moses spoke.
11:18Mineral salts from the bodies of the incinerated citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah continued to
11:23leach to the surface even after 4,000 years.
11:28After the atomic bombs were dropped that ended World War II in the Pacific, U.S. military inspectors
11:34at Hiroshima found piles of white powder near the blast site.
11:40Analysis proved the powder to be the mineral salts of the incinerated individuals who were
11:45vaporized in the fireball.
11:47All that was left was a pile of salt.
11:50That discovery and the salt licks of Sodom and Gomorrah may answer the question,
11:54what became of Lot's wife?
11:56The scriptures indicate she turned back to the doomed city and became not a literal pillar,
12:02but in the Hebrew, a memorial of salt.
12:05All that's left of her and the entire population is the mineral salts which the desert gazelle now eat.
12:11No!
12:41In recent centuries, legend has developed that the four cities of the plain were submerged in the briny depths
12:55at the south end of the Dead Sea.
12:58Yet 500 years after the event, Moses recorded that the cities remain as brimstone, salt and ashes.
13:05In the first century of the common era, Shimon Kifa, commonly known as Simon Peter,
13:10spoke of the remains of the cities as if it were common knowledge among the Jews of his day.
13:16In the second century, the Jewish priest and historian Josephus spoke of their remains
13:21still standing in the Judean desert.
13:24The Dead Sea has continued to recede since the days that the scriptures were penned,
13:29and if they were visible in the days of Josephus, there is no way that they could now be submerged.
13:35Through the years, many looked in the wrong places and found nothing.
13:39But the cities of the plain were discovered exactly where the scriptures indicate,
13:43along the western shore of the Salt Sea and the Dead Sea Valley plain.
13:48In the book of Genesis, we read,
13:50Before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, Lot beheld all the plain of Jordan,
13:55that it was well watered everywhere, even as the garden of the Lord.
14:00We also read that
14:01The kings of the land of Shinar made war with the kings of Sodom, Gomorrah, Abba, Zeboim and Zohar.
14:08All of their armies were gathered together to fight in the valley of Sodom,
14:12which, after the destruction of those cities, is now called the Salt Sea.
14:19The location of the four cities is cited in the scripture when describing the borders of the land of the Canaanites,
14:26which was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza, as thou goest unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Adma, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.
14:45The four cities could only form the border of the Canaanites if they were spread out along the Jordan River Valley,
14:53and not grouped together at the south end of what is now called the Dead Sea.
14:58In the first book of Shemuel, we read,
15:00The Philistines camped at Michmas,
15:03and raiding parties went out from the camp in three detachments.
15:08One turned toward Ophrah in the vicinity of Shual,
15:12another toward Beth-Horan,
15:15and the third toward the border of the land overlooking the valley of Zeboim, facing the desert.
15:22Again, the location of the remains of Zeboim is north of the Dead Sea,
15:28and is designated as facing the desert in the Great Rift Valley east of Michmas.
15:38These four locations have yielded the same ashen features and brimstone remains
15:43that we see here in the city of Gomorrah.
15:48The brimstone found here is unique to this part of the Earth.
15:52Samples have been analyzed in laboratories in the U.S.,
15:55and also in one of the most prestigious laboratories in the world,
15:58the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden,
16:01which awards the Nobel Prize in the field of science.
16:04Critical analysis show this sulfur to be 95.72% pure sulfur,
16:11with three other trace metals which could generate sufficient heat to melt even stainless steel.
16:17Several years ago, I spent an entire week camped out under the stars here in the city of Gomorrah.
16:31I had heard that an archaeologist in the early 1800s had found this site and reported its location.
16:37In 1989, another archaeologist stumbled onto this site while working in the area.
16:44When I was introduced to the evidence, I was compelled to make a journey to this desert.
16:49Trudging my way through the ash by the light of the full moon,
16:52I crusted an ashen incline onto this moonlit plateau.
16:57Pale yellow balls of sulfur, exposed by a recent fall rain, were perched on the surrounding ash.
17:04I crushed one between my fingers and inhaled.
17:07This was the reason that I journeyed over 8,000 miles.
17:11As a skeptic, I had to see and smell this testimony for myself.
17:17I returned to Jerusalem a week later with a suitcase full of brimstone.
17:23Finding friends in the old city, I related my adventure to a growing audience
17:27who was eager to see if brimstone would still burn after 4,000 years in the desert.
17:32Touching a match to a small piece, it immediately became a black oozing mass with a purple plane.
17:39We began to choke and gag as the hot sulfur dioxide fumes seared our lungs.
17:45We evacuated the building and got the brimstone out of the building onto the street where it burned itself out.
17:51And that was the last time that I lit brimstone indoors.
17:54But I did learn a valuable lesson.
17:56Being unable to breathe in the presence of the poisonous gases emitted from the brimstone,
18:01the inhabitants of the cities would have been rendered unconscious.
18:05They would have died a relatively painless death before their bodies and diseases were cleansed in the fire.
18:11Even in judgment, our Creator is merciful.
18:16Why did God destroy Sodom and Gomorrah?
18:22Because they couldn't find any faithful men, any godly men.
18:29People were doing evil.
18:31Lust.
18:32A city full of lust.
18:34The sinfulness of them had reached his nostrils in heaven.
18:38Was that right?
18:39They sinned in a way that we shouldn't sin.
18:42Stealing.
18:43Hurting each other.
18:44I had no idea.
18:45Because they were having all those sex orgies.
18:48I just told you.
18:49You name it.
18:50Whatever they had back then.
18:52He got angry.
18:53Sin.
18:54Disobedient.
18:55Worshiping other gods.
19:09I find fascinating parallels in the history of Sodom and Gomorrah and that of our current
19:24culture, especially in the United States.
19:27The document, which has become commonly known in America as the Declaration of Independence,
19:33recognizes that the Creator has endowed every human being with absolute rights, that no
19:38civil or religious entity has the right to alienate from the individual.
19:43The public school system in the United States was originally established to teach children
19:48how to read the Bible so that they could never be stripped of their God-given rights.
19:53For the past several generations, however, the Department of Re-Education in Washington,
19:59D.C., has forced the once independent schools to teach that life is just the result of millions
20:06of years of aberrant chance mutations in a purely mechanical universe.
20:10And there is no Creator.
20:12The nice sterile term for this is evolution.
20:15But if there is no Creator, then there are no Creator-given rights upon which our Republic
20:20was founded.
20:21Without God-given rights, we are left with only government-given rights.
20:25And what the government giveth, the government taketh away.
20:28If there is no Creator, we have neither God-given rights nor God-given responsibilities.
20:35There is no right or wrong.
20:37And we, like all animals, are reduced to survival of the fittest.
20:41And if it feels good, do it.
20:44Sodom and Gomorrah's kings promoted the same prosperity-driven, lawless lifestyle.
20:58In Shimon Kepha's second letter to the followers of Yahshua of Nazareth, known by many today as Jesus,
21:05Kepha writes,
21:07God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into ashes,
21:12making them an ensample to those that live ungodly lives.
21:16RUDIMENTARY EXPLANATION
21:18The word ensample in the Greek language means
21:22a visible example.
21:24Something that can be witnessed in the physical universe.
21:27Not theological speculation.
21:29Just as surely as the Almighty does not rain fire and brimstone down on every generation or city in which there is gross wickedness,
21:36He has left a testimony in the earth for these last days.
21:42God is the righteous judge, and if you decide to live an ungodly life, your judgment is just as sure as the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah.
21:49The remains of Sodom and Gomorrah are also a testimony to the righteous.
21:55earth for these last days. God is the righteous judge, and if you decide to live an ungodly
22:01life, your judgment is just as sure as the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah. The remains
22:07of Sodom and Gomorrah are also a testimony to the righteous. Lot remains righteous in
22:12the midst of a sick, twisted and perverse world. God delivered the righteous in the
22:17day of his judgment then, and he will deliver the just as he shakes the earth in these last
22:23days.
22:25Many people have a very negative attitude concerning the judgment of God falling on
22:35a nation. Well, it depends on whether you are in the wrong or whether you have been wronged.
22:41When one gets his day in court and righteous judgment is handed down from the bench, those
22:45who have been wronged celebrate. They have been vindicated and will be compensated. Those
22:51who have wronged others are punished. That is righteous judgment.
23:00God's judgment on Sodom brought relief to those who were shackled in dungeons until they were
23:05abused to death. It ended the rape and murder of other men, who had entered into the city
23:09expecting to conduct business and then return to their wives and children, only to be defiled
23:15mercilessly before being bludgeoned to death. It ended child pornography and sex slave markets.
23:22It ended kidnapping and prostitution rings. It ended the murder of babies conceived in the
23:28free sex atmosphere of Sodom's singles bars, church dating clubs and the private studies
23:33of lawless clergy. Perhaps it ended the first syphilis and AIDS epidemics that would have wiped
23:39out the world before the age of modern medicine.
23:50God is the righteous judge, and if you are living a righteous lifestyle, you long for the day that
23:56His righteous judgment is released upon the face of the earth. As it is written in the Psalms, the
24:01righteous speak of His judgment all the day long. But as I say, His judgment is not pleasant table
24:08conversation in the house of the wicked. As Shimon Kepha said, even though we do not see God's hand of
24:14judgment overtly revealed against the wicked, do not deceive yourself into thinking that the Almighty
24:20is slack concerning His promise of judgment. He is not. He is long-suffering, not willing that any
24:27should perish. He never judges without fair warning. Consider this fair warning. The day, the millennium
24:34of the Lord, is at hand.
24:36Just as Kepha prophesied, the remains of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah stand as an ensample,
24:45a visible witness in the last days. A witness that the Hebrew Scriptures are an accurate historical
24:51record of the land and people of Israel and the people of Israel and the people of Israel and
24:55the people of Israel and the people of Israel and the people of Israel and the people of Israel
24:59Israel. The ashen remains of those cities are a testimony to those who decide to live an ungodly life.
25:06They remind us that the judge, though long-suffering, will render a swift and terrible verdict to those
25:13who disobey His commandments and do their own thing. This brimstone is an aromatic reminder that the God of
25:20Abraham, Yitzhak and Yaakov is the righteous judge and that He will deliver the righteous in the day of judgment.
