00:00On today's Toy Spot, we're going to be looking at the Justice League Unlimited 3-Pack, featuring both Black Canary,
00:07or Joker, and Batman.
00:23And before we actually look at the figures, let's have a look at the packaging.
00:27And by about this point, this is where we were seeing the DC Super Heroes logo running along the side.
00:37So looking for these guys, particularly on eBay, were a little harder, because if you looked up DC Super Heroes,
00:44you usually got the 6-inch size in the results.
00:49And sometimes if you put Justice League Unlimited, you might not have these packs to show at all.
00:54So there was a bit of confusion when it came to searching for these on eBay.
00:58Generally, though, you could still type in Justice League Unlimited and still get these showing.
01:03I guess it really was up to the seller as to how they wanted it displayed, but there you go.
01:10So, on the back of the packaging, the other figures in this wave, at least in the 3-Pack waves,
01:17is that we've got the Black Canary, we've got Batman, we've got Joker, we've got Hawkman, we've got Rocket Red,
01:25and then we've got the Alts Flash.
01:27And then we've got Green Lantern, we've got Fire and Ice, and then finally we've got Flash, Dr. Fate, and
01:34Starman.
01:37And it says, Collect Them All.
01:40One thing that disappointed me, though, at least of this set, is if you compare the figures, which I don't
01:46know how well you can see here,
01:48but if you compare, like, even the Joker and the Black Canary, if you compare them to the figures that
01:55are on the back,
01:57much nicer detailing on both the Joker and the Black Canary than what we actually got in figure form.
02:04That's really disappointing, and actually these were the figures that I remember seeing at the toy shows.
02:12So, yeah, the prototype figures, I know, always tend to be nicer than the actual figures end up being,
02:18but, I don't know, let's get these guys opened up, and let's see, maybe we won't be disappointed.

02:30Well, welcome back, guys.
02:32Now you can see, hopefully you can see, unless you've got your eyes closed,
02:36you'll see that we've got all three figures out of their package.
02:39I won't spend really a lot of time on the Batman here, just because standard supplied Batman.
02:47Now this is, obviously, the additionally two-pointed articulated Batman,
02:52both with the articulation in the elbows and in his knees.
02:55One thing to note as well is that by this point, some of the quality issues, I think, started to
03:02come,
03:03started to be more visible.
03:06The legs are extremely loose, and the knees and everything else,
03:10it feels more flimsy in the way of what the plastic they've utilized.
03:15But, if you have one of these Batmans, no doubt, I'm sure you have a handful of them,
03:20and another Batman you can add to your collection.
03:23So we'll move Batman out of the way.
03:26The two figures, probably the reason why you picked up this set,
03:31the two figures that this set came with.
03:33First, we have Joker here, and I'll bring the camera in a bit so you guys can see it.
03:41The Joker actually is not too bad.
03:44I mean, it's not great, but it's not too bad.
03:48And really, this is the only scale of Joker that we can get with the Justice League Unlimited-sized figures.
03:55The Joker, I'm trying to remember, I think the Joker actually utilizes, except for the head,
04:01utilizes a mold already released in a Joker figure.
04:07The Joker, there was several Batman two-packs released where it came with like Catwoman was one pack,
04:15I think Batgirl was another pack.
04:17There was a Two-Face that I always remember more so, and it had the gridded half-suit.
04:23There was another figure as well that was Joker, and the Joker was holding the playing card,
04:29and I believe the hand was the exact same as well.
04:32So, leads me to believe that this actually is a complete reuse of the mold, at least from the head
04:40down.
04:40Now, in the way of the head itself,
04:43the head, of course, has been re-sculpted ever so slightly to look more like the cartoon Joker,
04:55right down to his yellow teeth, the yellow eyes.
05:02And, if you were looking for a Joker for your Injustice League, you certainly can get this Joker here.
05:10I'm disappointed, really, in the fact that he had to have a card and everything else,
05:15and really, that's going to be my same gripe with the Black Canary when I get to her as well.
05:20But, I mean, both of these figures share one big issue that I have with some of these Justice League
05:26figures,
05:26and that is the fact that, as a collector who, really, if you're going to put these guys on display,
05:33it necessarily is not that big of a deal that you've got Joker holding a card,
05:37you've kind of got him in a pose like, you know, you can have him doing something.
05:42If, however, you're a kid and you want to play with these,
05:47Joker always is going to have a card.
05:49You know, you can't really, you know, you can only do so much.
05:52You can have him look like he's going to throw a card,
05:54you can kind of have him holding the card, like pick a card by his jacket,
05:59but he's always going to have a card.
06:01It would have been nice if he had just had straight arms.
06:06And, at least if he had straight arms, you know, you could have him punching Batman or whatever.
06:10Like I said, for a toy, and the fact that you want to play with it,
06:17Joker really kind of ruins a lot of that,
06:20because you can't really do too much with the figure, aside from just having him stand.
06:25Now, having said that, the Joker actually isn't too bad.
06:30The paint's not that bad on him.
06:32But I really wish they could have done something with the arms,
06:35other than just having him already doing something.
06:38That carries over, and he's not going to really stand.
06:42That carries over to my issue with the Black Canary figure.
06:46The Black Canary figure also is a very nice looking figure.
06:49They've got the mesh in the leggings here.
06:54They've given her the heels.
06:56But again, like, issue-wise,
06:59And the Black Canary, unlike the Joker,
07:02the Joker, this body mold, as far as I know,
07:06has only been reused for the Gentleman Ghost figure.
07:11The Black Canary, however, has had several female figures released using this mold.
07:18This mold where she's posed with her arm on her waist and her arm to the side.
07:23But, again, from a collector's standpoint,
07:27if you have her on display, not necessarily that big of a deal.
07:31But if you want to play with her, you really can't do too much.
07:35I mean, yeah, you can kind of have her hand up to her mouth,
07:37like she's going to use her sonic blast, her screech.
07:44But, like, only the one arm is straight that you can actually have her doing stuff.
07:50So, not everybody necessarily wants just to have her posed.
07:54And really, that's the one problem that the Justice League Unlimited figures had.
07:59Some figures had just straight arms that you could play with them.
08:02But figures such as Black Canary, you ultimately just have a stand figure.
08:08Speaking of stand, Black Canary also does come with a stand,
08:12which I have to say is needed for figures like her,
08:16because you'll notice even the foot doesn't want to reach it.
08:20But she does not stand well at all.
08:22Just for how small she is and the pose,
08:26she just does not want to stand very well.
08:28So, it was nice that they actually started giving us stands
08:31for the later released female characters.
08:35Now, gripes aside, the sculpt on Black Canary is very nice.
08:40I do like the sculpt on the hair and everything else.
08:43Her articulation, she has mild articulation in the head,
08:47not really a lot because of the hair.
08:49Her arms do move.
08:51And the legs, same issue with the females,
08:53you're going to get these spread legs,
08:55which really does not work at all for if you want to put her in a vehicle or what have
09:00you.
09:01Joker's articulation, you can move the head left and right,
09:05move the arms,
09:07and you can also move the legs.
09:09Is it worth picking up this set?
09:11If you wanted to get a Joker, I would say yes.
09:14Joker has not been released in any other set.
09:17He was, however, released with the Gorilla Grodd.
09:20However, he was released as the Red Hood,
09:23which gave him a black outfit rather than the purple.
09:27Other than that, though, this is the only way to get this Joker.
09:30So, I would say it's well worth probably picking up the set
09:32if you want to get the unlimited figures.
09:34So, there we had a toy spot on the DC Super Heroes Justice League Unlimited line,
09:41and we were looking at the three-pack featuring Black Canary and Joker.
