00:00On this toy spot, we're going to be looking at the Justice League Unlimited 3-pack featuring Kyle Rayner, Kat
00:06Mantui, and Arcus Chamuck.
00:29And if you're collecting Green Lantern Corps members, this is a 3-pack that you want to get.
00:35There's not very many Green Lanterns that have been released. I think there's about seven total.
00:43And recently, or depending on when you're watching this review, recently they released a 3-pack that featured Arun Sur,
00:55there was a Hal Jordan, and there was an original Green Lantern Sinestro.
01:00The real crime, though, is that we've yet to receive a Hal Jordan.
01:04And actually, this is a good example, a good case-in-point example.
01:08They keep giving us all the figures we want, if you want to collect Green Lantern, and this package just
01:14dropped.
01:15They've given us all the figures we want, but they keep denying us a Hal Jordan.
01:21There was a Mattel release, a limited release, of a Green Lantern Hal Jordan, but I believe he was released
01:30to only a thousand pieces,
01:31and he was given away as a Christmas gift to the writers and the animators of the Justice League Unlimited
01:39cartoon.
01:42Allegedly, allegedly, that mold was destroyed, and Mattel said that they would never release that Hal Jordan again.
01:52Personally, it's not much of a rant, but personally, my issue with that is, while it's all nice and good
01:59that you want to give something to the writers and the animators who did such a great job on the
02:05cartoon,
02:06to then destroy the mold and say, hey, we're not going to give the fans, the people that have the
02:13money, the people that would go and buy the toys, that would stay faithful to the toy lines,
02:19we're not going to give them the toy, the figure, they're just out of luck.
02:27That says something to me that Mattel would not want to do that.
02:31I mean, I don't know, I understand why.
02:33I guarantee that, I'm sure at some point, they're going to give us a Hal Jordan.
02:38It's inevitable, but just bad, bad decision making on Mattel.
02:44Needless to say, I know I went off topic here, let's look at the package.
02:47The package is very standard on the Justice League Unlimited.
02:51Now, they've branded, of course, the Super Heroes line logo on the side here,
02:57which caused some confusion between picking these figures up, or at least looking for these figures,
03:03and looking for the larger, what would eventually become the DC Universe figure line.
03:12Really, why they slapped the logo on the side and just didn't call the line the Justice League Unlimited, I
03:17really don't know.
03:19But on the back of the package, the other figures in this particular wave, and it has fluctuated,
03:27there is the three-pack, the Green Lantern three-pack,
03:30there is the remaining Justice Lords three-pack that featured Justice Lord, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, and a Flash.
03:39Though it's not an alternate universe Flash, it really is only a reverse Flash, but they packaged it as such.
03:47There is a three-pack that featured Zatanna, Shining Knight, and Batman.
03:53There was a three-pack that featured Edrigan, the Demon, as well as Wonder Woman and Superman.
03:59There was a three-pack that featured the Bald, Jon Stewart, the Unmasked, Hawkgirl, and the Rey.
04:08And then, finally, there was a three-pack that featured Adam and Huntress.
04:13Again, issues will be that individual figures, individual carded figures, are really the best way to go.
04:20So, Shining Knight, for example, and Zatanna, neither of them come with their accessories.
04:26However, if you pick them up in their individual carded figures, Shining Knight comes with a sword, Zatanna comes with
04:33her want.
04:36Adam, the single-carded Adam comes with a smaller Adam, about that to scale, of the Adam figure.
04:44And, uh, this was the only way that you could get an Unmasked Hawkgirl.
04:50They have recently released a, uh, a, uh, a, I'm trying to think of the Starcross, the Starcross, uh, three
05:00-part finale.
05:01They released a, a pack recently that featured, uh, Thanagarian warriors, and there was an Unmasked Hawkgirl included with that.
05:09Um, up to that point, though, this was the only way to get Hawkgirl.
05:13And I believe this, so far, this is the only way to get Ray.
05:16Or the Ray, I think it's the Ray.
05:18Um, and I believe this is, so far, the only way you can get the Demon.
05:23So, while some three-packs are worth picking up, like these two here, um, I will say, like, these two
05:29three-packs,
05:30better to get the individual carded figures instead.
05:35Boy, that was a mouthful.
05:36Um, but there's packaging.
05:38There is packaging on the three-pack.
05:40Um, the three-pack here.
05:43Uh, what we'll do is we'll get these guys opened up, and we will get a better look at the
05:47figures.

05:50And just to quickly clarify something, because I know, um, it, it probably didn't just make sense what I just
05:56said about the Hal Jordan.
05:57Uh, just to quickly clarify, the Hal Jordan that was released with the Sinestro, or the original Green Lantern, Sinestro,
06:05and Avan Sur, uh, was actually the, the pilot, or test pilot Hal Jordan.
06:10It wasn't actually a Hal Jordan in a Green Lantern suit, because I know I commented that it came, that
06:16Hal Jordan came in that three-pack, and I also mentioned that Mattel would never release a Hal Jordan.
06:21Um, so, really, what we're still missing is a Green Lantern Hal Jordan.
06:28We've got the head, now, from Hal Jordan, the test pilot.
06:32I'm sure the body is pretty easy to come by.
06:35Come on, Mattel.
06:36Give us a Green Lantern.
06:38Uh, speaking of Green Lantern, uh, we'll look at the figure that I'm bothered by the most in this.
06:43Actually, the, the figure I'm, I'm bothered by second in this set.
06:49We'll look at Kyle Rayner.
06:50Uh, it is a nice-looking mold.
06:52It is certainly a nice-looking mold.
06:55But, uh, this would have been prime opportunity that they could have easily given us a Hal Jordan.
07:03Um, instead, what they do is they give us Kyle Rayner.
07:06And, really, for how close he looks, if you wanted to pretend that he was, um, Hal Jordan, you could
07:16certainly do that.
07:17But, because, I mean, aside from the hair that's a bit spiky at the top here, you could probably file
07:23that down.
07:23Or, you could just really keep it the way it is.
07:25And, uh, if you were to swap it out for, not necessarily that body, but a more accurate Green Lantern
07:33body,
07:33you could probably just think of this as Hal Jordan.
07:37But, uh, Kyle Rayner here, as you can see, sports a slightly different symbol, Green Lantern symbol, than the others.
07:46And, uh, much more youthful as well.
07:50As you can see, uh, his shoulder areas are slightly different as well.
07:54Um, same body mold as most figures.
07:57And, I believe this utilizes the, um, I wanna, I think it's the Green Lantern body, the Jon Stewart body.
08:06Because, I think Flash has a little, more slender arms.
08:10Um, but his articulation is that he has articulation in the head, uh, in the shoulders, and also in the
08:15legs.
08:17Um, Kyle Rayner, a good choice.
08:20And, it's nice that it's included.
08:22But, the whole time I'm looking at this figure, I'm thinking,
08:25You gave us this, why can't you give us Hal Jordan?
08:30Needless to say, there's Kyle Rayner, we'll put him aside.
08:33Actually, we'll just lay him down for a second.
08:35And, uh, we'll look at Artemis Chuck.
08:38And, uh, a nice looking figure as well.
08:41It is certainly a nice looking figure.
08:44And, uh, actually his name's Arcus Chumak.
08:48Just to correct myself there.
08:50Uh, a nice looking figure.
08:53And, pretty decent looking.
08:55Uh, nice face sculpt.
08:58And, a good example, actually, the fact that they've, they've given us Arcus here.
09:03Uh, certainly not a character that I would've expected to see as a Justice League member.
09:08Or, a Justice League toy.
09:10It's very nice that they've included him.
09:12So, I'm happy with Arcus.
09:14I think he's great.
09:15Good job on him.
09:17Um, the big issue I have with this two-pack,
09:19or the three-pack here,
09:21is this one right here.
09:22Catman Tui.
09:23And, I remember when I did the DC Universe, uh, review of the Catman Tui figure.
09:28I said it was the first time in six inches.
09:30And, I couldn't figure out what the previous released figure was of, of Catman Tui.
09:35And, it was actually the Justice League Unlimited release of her.
09:41Um, herein lies the problem that I have with this particular figure.
09:45Uh, why they gave her this costume, when they couldn't have given her a classic Justice,
09:51or a classic Green Lantern costume, is beyond me.
09:57Um, you know, it's an alright costume.
09:59Um, but, to, if you watch the, the cartoon, um, Heart, I want to say Hearts and Minds,
10:07but I know, I don't think that's right.
10:09Um, but if you saw the episode with, with Catman Tui in it, she actually wore the classic
10:13Green Lantern attire.
10:15She didn't wear this attire.
10:16So, why they couldn't have given her a more accurate attire, again, I, I don't know why.
10:23But, uh, it's nice that they've given her a stand.
10:25See, they've given her a Justice, uh, DC stand.
10:28Slightly different than the stands that we would get later on.
10:31Um, but, uh, needless to say, I mean, it's a good pack.
10:35It's a nice pack.
10:36But, the whole time I'm looking at this guy, I'm thinking, why couldn't this have been Hal Jordan?
10:40Um, but, needless to say, that was a toy spot on the Justice League Unlimited 3-pack,
10:46featuring Kyle Rayner, Arcus Chumuck, and Catman Tui.
10:52A mixed bag, but still a nice set, nonetheless.
