00:16Today's spooky spot is on the McFarlane Toys Monsters Series 2. We're going to be looking
00:24today, if I just pan up the camera, at the Phantom of the Opera playset. Yes, another
00:29playset, loads of accessories, with these smaller scale figures. I really have enjoyed
00:38these sets. I think the sets are really quite cool. Figures are not spectacular, by no means,
00:44but the accessories, the amount of accessories you actually get with these sets, more than
00:48makes up for it. Package, there's really not much in the way of packaging. Won't probably
00:55spend a lot of time on it, but you've got a picture down below. Assembles into this playset
01:00with swinging chandelier that can drop to floor. How about that? On the back of the package,
01:09the other sets in Series 2 are the Phantom of the Opera set, we've got the Sea Creature,
01:14we've got the Mummy, and finally we've got Dr. Frankenstein. Collect all four. Down below,
01:22we've got some other dioramas you can pick up from the Spawn the Movie, as well as we've
01:27got some Kiss Psycho Circus figures. We're at the Psycho Circus. Look for these and other
01:37ultra-action figures from McFarlane Toys. I wouldn't necessarily call them ultra-action figures.
01:43They don't really have a lot of action to them. But there is packaging. What we're going to
01:51do is we'll open this up. I'm going to have to take a break and actually put some of this
01:56stuff together. But once it's assembled, we're going to have a look at the Phantom of the Opera
02:08is just there inside your mind. Where are we going with this? I have no idea. All right, let's have
02:19a look.
02:20Let's have a look at the very impressive. I'm actually going to have to pan the camera up because
02:25you're not going to be able to see everything that's in here. But we'll start first with the actual figures.
02:31We've got a mustache figure right here, sporting a very nice jacket. Unfortunately, he's kind of
02:39pre-sculpted, so you can't really do too much with him. He has articulation in the head. You can rotate
02:46the arms as well. And you can also rotate at the waist. That's really about it, though. Give you guys
02:55a close-up
02:55look at him. He does come with a sword. I guess really it's up to you which sword you want
03:04to use.
03:05I guess this sword makes more sense because it fits his holster. He does come with a very large sword.
03:13Get it into his hand. There we go. He's got himself a sword. They also have masks that you can
03:21put on them
03:21as well. The package instructions show that this figure has this particular mask. I guess it's not
03:28written in stone. You could certainly put this mask, I suppose, on the phantom as well. Kind of a goat
03:36mask.
03:41Take it off.
03:45As I mentioned, you can take the sword, if I can get it back out of his hand. There we
03:49go.
03:51You can actually take the sword and slide it into his holster. Like that.
03:58It's very large. I mean, look how large the sword is in proportion to the rest of the figure.
04:04A little large, yes.
04:09There you go.
04:11Put him down. Let's have a look at the phantom. Ah, there he goes. Let's have a look at the
04:16phantom.
04:20There's not really a lot to him. I mean, I think he looks a little cooler on the package
04:24than he does actually in person. Kind of just looks like a gray mummy. I mean,
04:29you can make out the details. There's an eye there, you know. He's missing a nose. He's got some teeth
04:34going there. He's got this neat necklace, jacket, purple vest. He's got this nice purple cape.
04:45He does come with a mask as well. You can put it over his face.
04:53Definitely, I think it's a vast improvement. Now, at least he can go out on the town,
05:00not terrify the ladies. Put it down so he can actually see where he's going. There we go.
05:10He also does have a sword.
05:14Put it in his hand. His hand is extremely small. Look at the hole. Look at the hole in his
05:19hand. It's
05:20quite small versus the actual handle of the sword. You can also put the sword in his holster, like so.
05:29He only has one hand that can hold the sword. The other hand is kind of grabbing for something.
05:37Maybe he wants, I don't know, maybe he wants a Coke. Maybe that's why he's been so angry. Nobody's
05:42going to give him a Coke. He just says, I want a Coca-Cola to drink. Put it in my
05:50hand.
05:54I think I need some sleep. The articulation is he has articulated shoulders. You can rotate the head.
06:00Now, his head's posed in one way that when you turn his head,
06:04you know, it obviously turns the angle of the head as well.
06:09Rotate the hand this way as well.
06:12Waist articulation is there. Not so much, really, because you can't move it. You can't move it very well.
06:19But that is the Phantom. That is the Phantom.
06:23I think the cooler aspect, which seems to be a running ongoing theme, the cooler accessories in
06:30this set is not so much necessarily the figures, the diorama that they come with. As you can see,
06:36we've got ourselves a organ, a very old-style organ, complete with the several, this pipe organ,
06:45several pipes going on there. And if we pan further up, I even have to move the camera for this,
06:52we've got ourselves a balcony, complete with curtain, and we've got ourselves a chandelier,
06:59which is actually attached way, way up there, attached to a, I guess, a wood. We've got some
07:06string as well. Not string. We've got some rope kind of keeping it all together there.
07:12Very, very cool. The chandelier is nicely detailed, complete with candles. I guess they're lit.
07:20We're supposed to use our imagination. Um, the Phantom. Uh, assuming, of course,
07:26if you want to put the Phantom on top, there's a little, little platform to have the Phantom kind of
07:32peeking out from the curtain like that.
07:36You're like, hey, hey, you got a Coke? I'm really thirsty, do you have a Coke?
07:43But he can hide behind the curtains.
07:47You can also, I guess, stick his hand out if you want.
07:50You're like, ehhh. Where am I going with this review? I have no idea.
07:57But it's very interesting. I have to say, it is very interesting. Again, not so much necessarily
08:02for the figures, but the diorama is cool. Uh, this one actually has a feature. I can just get the
08:07chandelier straight again. It actually has a feature that if I pan back up here, you'll notice
08:15there, right where I can adjust myself here, you'll actually notice that there is a little peg.
08:21The idea is you slide the chandelier through this little, let's see if I can pan down so you
08:27actually see it, you can actually slide the chandelier through this little slot and pick it up at the top
08:33here. Um, the gimmick is that you actually take the chandelier peg, the plug itself, when you push
08:41it down, it'll actually drop the chandelier. So maybe it's easier to probably demonstrate it than
08:47it is to explain it. So what we'll do is we'll pan back down here and we'll put the unsuspecting
08:56bearded fellow down here. I don't even know his name. We're going to put him down below and push the
09:01little button. Oh, this can't be good. You know, we'll move him closer over so the chandelier will
09:06really hit him. And what we'll do is, like I said, we'll push this button down. Uh-oh. Look away,
09:14children. Look away. We push it down. Look, push down. Oh, there goes the chandelier. There's glass
09:21everywhere. Somebody get the paramedics. Um, but very cool. I mean, it's, you know, it's simple,
09:30but I think it looks pretty neat. Um, chandelier back up here. The figures don't wow me. I mean,
09:41they're nicely detailed, but they're not really articulated. You know, they're older figures to be,
09:45you know, be expected. But I gotta say, I really like the balcony and organ display here.
09:54I like that.
09:57Maybe, I don't know, you could have this as Dr. Doom's organ. If you had DC, uh, if you had

10:02Marvel Universe Dr. Doom, you could have that as organ. I mean, you could certainly take this
10:06balcony out as well and just have it strictly as an organ. But, uh, neat chandelier. It's a neat
10:13looking set overall. And, uh, I definitely would say, uh, you know, you guys are looking for a neat
10:19little thing to put on display in your rooms. This is kind of a neat little thing to look at.
10:25I said neat a lot in this review. Um, today's spooky spot, we were having a look at the McFarlane
10:33Monsters Series 2. We're looking at the Phantom of the Opera set. Comes with a mustache guy. Comes with
10:41the Phantom. He just wants a Coke. And we have a very neat set with a cool dropping chandelier.
