00:13On today's Christmas spot we're gonna be having a look at the memory lane Mickey's Christmas Carol.
00:18We're looking today at Goofy as Marley's Ghost. Now at the top there it says it comes from Kmart,
00:27or at least there's a Kmart tag on there, for $7.99 for anyone that was asking. I did not
00:33actually pick this up from Kmart.
00:34I picked this up through eBay a while back. But a fun set. Goofy I thought was perfect as Marley's
00:41Ghost. Gosh.
00:45Package-wise you probably can't see it, but in the background there there is actually the living room of Ebenezer
00:51Scrooge.
00:54To get it out of the way, reach over, reach off camera as it were.
00:59Goofy was also released as a exclusive glow-in-the-dark as well.
01:03It's the exact same figure, the only difference is that this is the single color glow-in-the-dark version
01:08versus the regular color.
01:10I probably won't review both, just because it is the same figure. I know, yes, this glow-in-the-dark
01:15and all.
01:16It's kind of cool.
01:18The only thing that doesn't glow-in-the-dark appears to be his eyes.
01:22But I like the blue on more, so this is the one I'm going to actually open up and review.
01:27But just to show you guys that there was an exclusive available as well.
01:32There you go.
01:33Move that away.
01:34Move that aside.
01:37On the back of the package, collect all six figures.
01:40We've got Scrooge McDuck as Ebenezer Scrooge.
01:42We've got Mickey Mouse as Bob Cratchit.
01:46We've got Minnie Mouse as Mrs. Cratchit.
01:47Morty Mouse as Tiny Tim.
01:49We've got Goofy as Jacob Marley's ghost.
01:51And finally, Donald Duck as Scrooge's nephew, Fred.
01:55There is also the Ghosts of Christmas three-figure set, featuring Jimmy Cricket as Christmas Past.
02:02Willie the Giant as Christmas Present.
02:04And Pete as Christmas Future.
02:06And the read-up says,
02:08Ebenezer Scrooge, Ebenezer, exclaimed a ghostly voice.
02:13Scrooge cowered in disbelief as a spectral form bound in chains walked through the closed
02:18door and into his bed chamber.
02:21Scrooge, you don't recognize me?
02:23The spirit asked.
02:24I was your partner, Jacob Marley.
02:27Scrooge could hardly believe his eyes.
02:29Marley, it's you.
02:30Remember when I was alive, I robbed the widows and swindled the poor.
02:34I was wrong.
02:35And so as my punishment, I am forced to carry these heavy chains throughout eternity.
02:39And the same thing will happen to you, Ebenezer Scrooge.
02:45One thing I like about this, the packaging, and unfortunately the way I'm shooting these
02:49reviews, they're going to be out of order, but is the fact that the read-ups are actually
02:56clip-its, like actual parts to the movie.
03:00It's not the exact same read-up on every single package.
03:03So if you get enough of the packages together, you can pretty much tell the story of Mickey's
03:08Christmas Carol.
03:09And I like that quite a bit.
03:12Needless to say, that's packaging on Goofy.
03:14I'm going to take myself a bit of a break, I'm going to get this opened up, and we're
03:18going to have a bit of a look at Goofy as Marley's ghost.
03:21There's more magic to come, guys.

03:26Of the accessories that Jacob Marley's ghost comes with, or Goofy comes with in this case,
03:33one of which is the door knocker.
03:36The door knocker where Marley first makes his appearance to Scrooge.
03:42Very cool looking.
03:44But unfortunately, at least at this particular line, one thing they're notorious for is they're
03:49giving us accessories that you can't do anything with.
03:52In this case, you've got a knocker.
03:55It doesn't do anything though, you can't, you know, it doesn't hang on anything.
03:59I know for the cost of the figure, they probably would not have released it, but at least a
04:04door, like just a stand-up plastic, you know, door with the knocker on it would have been
04:10nice.
04:11Instead we just get the knocker.
04:13I don't really know what you're going to do with this.
04:16It just will kind of, well, it will just sit on the ground.
04:19It will sit wherever you've got this display, or wherever you've got this figure displayed,
04:23but it doesn't really do anything.
04:25Knocker's nice, but yeah, it serves no purpose whatsoever.
04:32The other accessory that Goofy does come with, and I think this is kind of cool too, is he
04:36comes with a piggy bank, and the piggy bank is even shackled as well.
04:43I think that's so cool.
04:47I don't even remember that from the special, but I'm going to be watching it probably not
04:52tonight, maybe tomorrow, depending on when you're watching this video, of course.
04:56I'm going to be on the lookout for that, but that's neat.
04:58The chain can come off, but you've got yourself a little piggy bank.
05:03Pretty cool.
05:05Put that down.
05:06Let's have a look at Goofy.
05:10Goofy.
05:11Now, Goofy does come with these chains.
05:14These chains are wrapped around him.
05:17Unfortunately, though, you kind of have to drape them.
05:21There's one area right around his waist where it's actually fastened around the figure.
05:29Down below, you can actually see that he comes with the keys as well.
05:33Unfortunately, though, the rest of the chains really don't do anything.
05:39You can kind of drape him over his shoulder.
05:42You can kind of throw him on the one side, but unless you've got his arms up, or you've
05:50kind of got it just resting enough, those chains are going to slide off.
05:55He does come with one weight, or I guess his, you know, the things that Marley had with
06:04him, the cases, I guess.
06:06He's got one right there.
06:08And ironically enough, it's got weight to it, which is kind of neat, too.
06:14I guess, really, the other chain, you've got a little loose chain here, and then I guess
06:21the idea is you can chain the secondary chain like that, although it doesn't really sit
06:28well.
06:28That's the only problem.
06:30I was going to say, he has a loose chain right here, one that doesn't connect to anything.
06:34If we go back to the piggy bank, the piggy bank has one slot on the case to hold the
06:42piggy bank,
06:42and then there's also another loop.
06:45Now, the loop is not connected to anything, it just sits loose, right there.
06:51You can take, I guess, the other chain and fasten it on, but I don't know how well that's going
06:58to stay.
06:59It will likely just fall off.
07:02Let's see if we can get it to stay.
07:03Nope.
07:04It's going to stay.
07:06You kind of have to just be careful when you put it on, but it's not, there's really not
07:12a lot that's going to keep that on.
07:15In fact, just a slight touch.
07:18It's staying on a little bit.
07:19Okay, we'll leave it.
07:20I'm not going to jinx it.
07:22Guaranteed, I'm going to move Goofy, and it is going to, it's going to fall off, though.
07:27Looking at Goofy's face, why not?
07:31But, gosh, let's move up the camera.
07:35It looks, it looks really cool.
07:37You got the bandage that goes around Marley's head, a really nice color, too.
07:45It's this really nice kind of light blue.
07:48There's about three different blues on this Goofy.
07:50There's the dark blue on the ears, the nose, and his mouth as well.
07:54Then we've got a lighter blue that makes up his mouth, his shirt, and then we've got this
07:58other blue that makes up his jacket.
08:02And I think, overall, it just works really, really well.
08:05The pain in the you-know-where is really these chains.
08:08These chains, as much as they become a burden to Marley, they become a burden to this guy
08:13as well.
08:17It's unfortunate, though.
08:18The one thing about Goofy is the fact that his head, I don't know if you can see it, but
08:21his head tips back.
08:23It can't tip forward, so even, like, front on, all you're looking at is his mouth.
08:32Just a slight bit further would have been nice, but...
08:35The jacket is really cool.
08:37I like the pants.
08:39Really a solid figure.
08:41And this is another reason why I didn't review the glow-in-the-dark one, was just basically
08:45because all these details that I really like on this figure would have been completely lost
08:49with the single-color glow-in-the-dark version.
08:54Now, having the chains out of the way, in articulation, Goofy's head rotates left and
09:00right.
09:00His arms rotate all the way around.
09:02He can bend at the elbow.
09:04Rotate at the hand.
09:06No waste articulation, but the legs can swivel.
09:09They've got one of those really awkward swivels.
09:11You can also bend at the leg.
09:14And that would be it.
09:16But, uh, I really like this.
09:18I like the Goofy.
09:19The chains are a bit of a pain.
09:23You kind of just have to...
09:25I don't know.
09:26Just kind of get him...
09:28Maybe like that.

09:43But a really nice figure though.
