00:00Today's Toy Spot we're having a look at the NECA Cult Classics Series 6.
00:05We're looking today at the Lost Boys, David.
00:29David features an alternate head, hands and feet, blood bottle and diorama base.
00:36On the side you can see that there is the Lost Boys poster, a poster that I would love
00:41to get.
00:41I haven't acquired it yet, but I think that would look very nice in my living room, perhaps
00:46near my horror movies, perhaps near Lost Boys.
00:50Very iconic poster.
00:53It says, sleep all day, party all night, never grow old, never die, it's fun to be a vampire.
00:59Every time I read, sleep all day, party all night, I always think of, party on golf, party
01:05on Garth, party on Wayne, Wayne's World.
01:09The joke would have been there had Spot not butchered it the first time around.
01:13There's a picture down below of David with his vampire face.
01:18The chicks love it.
01:20Chicks love vampire faces.
01:22And you'll notice there is no glitter, no sparkle, nothing.

01:31On the back of the package, other figures that you can get aside from David here.
01:36We also got ourselves Michael, we've got ourselves the Udon of the Dead Zombie and a smart Ash.
01:43The read-up says, a brand new series comprised of your favorite heroes and villains from
01:47classic horror, sci-fi and action movies.
01:49Each figure is highly detailed and comes complete with movie-accurate accessories and display
01:54bases.
01:55The read-up for David says, David is the charismatic leader of a California motorcycle gang.
02:00He uses his influence along with the beauty of Star, his female companion, to lure an innocent
02:05Michael into vampirism.
02:08I had that happen once, I got out, just barely got out.
02:12Once Michael realizes how the gang hunts to survive, he tries to break free of their curse,
02:17sleep all day, party all night, party on Wayne, never grow old, never die, it's fun to be
02:23a vampire.
02:25Oh, and also if you were wondering, it's about how old is this package, 2007, 2007, 2007.
02:36What I am going to do is take a bit of a break, I'm going to get this opened up,
02:40and when we
02:41come back, when we reconvene as we do here, we're going to get a better look at David.
02:45Certainly there is more to come guys, don't go anywhere, stay tuned.
02:50And as with Michael, David comes also with an array of different accessories.
02:57His diorama base, now he actually does have pegs on the bottom of his feet, unlike the
03:03Michael that just came with a flat floor and nothing on the undersides of his shoes.
03:07At least David here does come with pegs.
03:12You'll also see down there, there's the noodles, which ended up being worms.
03:19Those horrible, horrible mean vampires.
03:22They never let poor Michael join in any vampire games.
03:28So mean, so cruel to him.
03:30Pretty nice sculpt though, on the base.
03:34I think they did a really good job on that.
03:37The other accessory, I guess the other main accessory that David comes with, just zoom
03:42in.
03:43I don't know why I'm still holding David, let's actually just put him down for a
03:46second.
03:47Don't worry, we'll get back to him.
03:49He does also come with this, a crucial accessory in the movie.
03:57It ain't grape juice friends, it ain't wine.
04:00That's blood in there.
04:01Oh, did I just give it away?
04:03There's blood in there my friends, stay away.
04:06It's a nice bottle though, don't even let the bottle lure you.
04:09Star or the bottle, it's still, they're both bad.

04:14But pretty nice detail on the bottle itself.
04:17You can see that there's gems, there's a little bit of gold around there as well.
04:23Really really nice work.
04:25You gotta give it to NECA.
04:27They always put a lot of effort into their toys.
04:30Even some of these older toys as well.
04:32I mean this toy is what, five years old, this action figure, and still the detail on it
04:37is just fantastic.
04:38I'm gonna put the wine bottle right there.
04:40Again, I would advise staying clear of that though.
04:43Let's have a look at David's face.
04:46Now this would be Vampire David.
04:48What?
04:50That's actually what Kiefer looks like?
04:52Oh no, he doesn't, you silly goose.
04:56Yes, it is more of his vampire face.
05:00My biggest problem I think, unlike the Michael, the Michael I pretty much was set that I wanted
05:06to have him with the human face.
05:09The problem with David though is he's so iconic in the movie with both faces that I'm really
05:16torn as to which one I actually prefer.
05:19The vampire face is really nicely detailed.
05:23He's got some yellow eyes.
05:24He's got some fangs going on down there.
05:28You imagine that someone, I don't even know his name.
05:32I'm sure I could if I looked at the package, but some sculpt, sculptor out there took the
05:37time and actually sculpted this with hand, by hand.
05:40I think that's just fantastic, the fact that somebody would actually do this.
05:44I mean, say what you want.
05:46Somebody could say, oh, come on, dude, you know, just one of those random trolls that
05:51come onto these channels.
05:52Dude, you collect toys, you need to get a life, but you know what?
05:57You really have to commend some of the artists and the sculptors out there that work for these
06:01companies that they would have taken the time and sculpted this.
06:04I'm sure those people that troll these channels and say, oh, you collect toys, probably can't
06:08even sculpt a horse out of clay.
06:10It would look like a bag of salt.
06:15So, I really have to say, good job, good job to unnamed sculptor who sculpted this face
06:21and really any of the faces from the occult classics line.
06:28Dave's also got himself a jacket, a very long trench coat, which usually indicates in these
06:33movies that if you have a long trench coat, it's got to mean that you're a vampire or some
06:37emo guy.
06:38He's also got himself a shirt underneath.
06:42If you wanted to, here we go.
06:44Same spiel as Spot always gives.
06:47You could take it off if you want.

06:52But the sleeves will be the exact same.
06:54So, the sleeves will look like it will be the jacket.

06:58But I like that it's a pliable kind of rubbery plastic.

07:07It's definitely got a very distinct material to it.

07:13It definitely feels very distinct from some of the other soft play kind of material that

10:47Then we're going to take the alternate head.
10:50And pop that into place.
10:52And just like that, just like that my friends, you've got yourself non-vampired Kiefer.

11:04You can't tell the difference.

11:07So there was a different head.
11:09I know.
11:10I often thought he was a vampire too.
11:13A really nice head sculpt.
11:15I mean, it really is a nice head sculpt on Kiefer Sutherland.
11:18And if you really wanted to, you could totally make that.
11:21You can make a good custom of how he was in Stand By Me.
11:25I'm pretty sure he had the long hair in Stand By Me as well.
11:29The stubble is really nice.
11:31You've got a little earring going on there.
11:37Party in the back. Business on the top.
11:39Is that what they say?
11:41Mullets.
11:44He's definitely got a good, solid look.
11:46Again, my big problem with this figure.
11:50And I curse you, NECA, for making such a good sculpt on this figure.
11:53Is the fact that I really don't know which figure I'd prefer to have.
11:57Or which head sculpt.
11:59You would almost want to buy both.
12:02Two of the same figure just so you can have alternate heads.
12:06At the end of the day, I really like the head sculpt on the vampire.
12:09And it's fitting for how often he looks like this in the movie.
12:12But I really, really like the head sculpt on just his human face.
12:17So much so, I don't know, maybe I might just keep it with this head on.
12:21But it's entirely up to you.
12:22I mean, it's entirely up to you how you want to do it.
12:25But in the way of David's articulation, he does have, as I mentioned, that ball-jointed head.
12:31He's got a pin and socket shoulder.
12:33They rotate all the way around.
12:35Still do be a little careful because some of these older NECA toys were prone for breaking in the joints.

12:43There goes the hand.
12:44Speaking of hand, rotation in the waist.
12:47And rotation in the boot.
12:49His hand is somewhere down on the floor.

12:55And there's the hand there.
12:56Oh, this blasted hand.
12:59I'm going to say something.
13:01Oh, and also there's a swivel in the one forearm.
13:03I'm going to say something that probably will make a lot of collectors angry.
13:07It's the word that nobody likes to use.
13:09Glue.
13:10If I decide I'm going to permanently keep this hand on him.
13:14If I have a tough time getting this hand in,
13:17I think ultimately I might just glue the hand.
13:20And call it a day.

13:27Just overall, a really, really nice figure.
13:32Obviously, as I mentioned before,
13:34it would probably do you good to get both figures.
13:38So they could get both Lost Boys.
13:41You could have, certainly, David on his own.
13:43And Michael on his own.
13:45But, much like Peanut Butter and Jelly,
13:48they're just meant for each other.
13:49Not in that way, but they're just kind of meant for each other.
13:52As a display piece.
13:56The David from NECA Cult Classic Series 6.
14:00I'm going to give him an 8.5.
14:03One of the best, one of the better, if not one of the best,
14:06NECA Cult Classic figures to date.
14:09Just a really nice head sculpt.
14:11Really nice diorama.
14:12You can't go wrong.
14:14If you're an 80's fan and you love Lost Boys,
14:16do pick this figure up.
