00:02I know we're going to get into the Jerry Judy stuff coming up here in a bit,
00:05but what is the truth on Munkin right now?
00:09I mean, he's a 500 coach. It's been two games.
00:12But last week was all one and done, one and done, one and done,
00:15and it felt like they weren't going to get any better.
00:17And I'm not ripping anybody for ripping Munkin.
00:19He's a professional head coach.
00:21Not only that, it was the contention of certainly hosts at this station
00:26that he was gaslighting.
00:28That's the operable term nowadays, the operative term, I should say,
00:32that everybody uses, gaslighting.
00:34He's gaslighting. He's lying to you.
00:36You guys all saw Shador dominate the quarterback competition.
00:41But, you know, Todd Munkin and his ego, his hubris, the gall.
00:47I'm glad you bring that up.
00:49I've heard that a thousand times.
00:50I have some audio.
00:51Or maybe he didn't win the competition.
00:53Maybe the guy that started week one won the competition.
00:55You know what? I'm glad you brought that up.
00:56You know, guys, at 722, we have some audio of Albert Breer
01:02and his co-host Connor Orr, right, Monday Morning Quarterback,
01:05about Deshaun Watson and Shador Sanders that I want the afternoon show
01:10to play for Albert and then ask Albert about those comments.
01:14I'm serious.
01:15I want them to address those comments.
01:17Well, because every time, every week on that show,
01:20they were saying one thing, and then Albert would come on and say,
01:24no, it's actually the complete opposite of what you're saying.
01:27And they'd say, thank you for your time, Albert.
01:29Boy, Albert's so good.
01:30Albert's such an insider.
01:30Albert has these connections in the building.
01:32And then they would forget what Albert said the very next segment
01:35and go back to saying the things they were saying before
01:37as if Albert never was on the show.
01:39Well, that's why I want to know if they'll play it for Albert today at 520.
01:41It's an amazing sleight of hand.
01:42I'm not – this is not a rip on Albert.
01:45This is really not a rip on anybody.
01:46This is a challenge.
01:47If everybody's just, quote, unquote, creating a narrative,
01:50and we're fighting narratives, everything is a narrative, okay,
01:54well, there's going to be a clip that I want to play for everybody
01:56of Albert Breer and his co-host, and then I want to see,
02:00because I know they listen, I want to see if they'll play it for Albert
02:03and discuss the comments with Albert.
02:07Just saying, if everything's fair.
02:10Guys, we have Mary Kay on every week, and there's times where if you watch
02:13on YouTube where I'll turn my mic off and I'll look at Lyman, I'm like,
02:17all right, I got to jump in the fray here.
02:19I got to ask.
02:20Like, it got a little tight last week between Mary Kay and I.
02:23Sure.
02:24There's been a couple of moments, not all the time, and yes,
02:27personally I've defended Mary Kay, but there's been some times,
02:29obviously, we've disagreed with one another on certain things.
02:32We'll see if they go after Albert for some comments earlier this week.
02:36That's the other thing, Kenny.
02:37I know we've got other stuff to move to, but it's like,
02:40the fun thing about football is that you can be proven wrong in record time
02:46because these teams can totally change year over year,
02:51even with a lot of the same players.
02:52A new coach can come in, and then you might take advantage of a schedule,
02:57you might get some breaks, the turnover stuff that goes against you one year
03:01might go for you, the injury luck that might go against you,
03:04and so all the blowhards like us, we say all these big things,
03:07and then you can be proven wrong in record time,
03:11and that's what I think is so compelling about this league.
03:15And so I kept hearing so many people yesterday,
03:18like especially Browns fans, right?
03:21They were going after us, and you guys trashed the team a week ago.
03:25What did they do in week one?
03:26They lost.
03:28And it was kind of embarrassing.
03:29Yeah.
03:30And that was reflected in what we said about the team.
03:35And then what did they do this week?
03:36They won.
03:37And so we gave them credit, which typically is how it works.
03:40Hey, you earn credit along the way.
03:42And then what, all of a sudden, we're lying?
03:46Like, oh, you guys didn't have the same opinion both weeks.
03:50Yeah, because I saw Jekyll and Hyde in two weeks.
03:53I saw complete polar opposites.
03:56So who's, and we didn't make any grand yet.
03:59We didn't say Browns are going to the playoffs.
04:00No.
04:02It depends on what's closer to the truth after two weeks.
04:04We didn't change our minds on the season.
04:06What you think is closer to the truth in two weeks.
04:09But no, I'll stand on the same ground as where I'm not going to,
04:12even if it becomes a thing, I'm not going to pick them for the rest of the year.
04:15It's just not going to happen.
04:16I made my plan week one, and I'm not going to come off at week two.
04:20After they won, I'm not going to get off at week three.
04:22Well, if they win again.
04:23Hopefully they'll win.
04:24If they win again.

04:25Because they're underdogs again.
04:26Nah, because the second I pick them to win, then you know what's going to happen.
04:29So I'm not going to do it.

04:43But do you think that we were a little overboard?
04:48Everybody was a little overboard on Todd Munkin from week one to week two.
04:52Because I thought his response from week one to week two on how to help Deshaun Watson.
04:58Like when the articles came out Sunday morning, hey, he's going to.
05:02And when he, well, the reevaluation, we talked about that on Friday.
05:06Then the articles came out Sunday morning.
05:08When he admitted to Nathan in the pregame, or Siciliano, Andrew, I should say, that he was going to shorten
05:16the play calls.
05:17It's like, well, today may very well be a complete disaster.
05:22And it ended up helping Deshaun Watson.
05:24And we ended up helping the offense.
05:25We talked.
05:26That was one of our big observations about week one.
05:28Not just that the operations weren't good when we were all hoping they would be better.
05:32Which, because we were told it was better than who wasn't playing.
05:35Uh-huh.
05:36But also noted, like, hey, it is taking Deshaun Watson a long time to stare at his wrist and say
05:45the words.
05:45Just from a mechanical standpoint.
05:48It seems like that's taking long.
05:49And then what did Munkin say after that game?
05:51We need to shorten that stuff.
05:53Good observation.
05:54And I'm fine with that, considering you had problems.
05:56You saw the problems.
05:57You addressed them the best you could.
05:59You're not out of the woods.
06:00No.
06:00Not everything's fixed.
06:01No.
06:01Quinshawn Junkins not being your leading rusher.
06:03It's like, okay, is there a problem with Quinshawn?
06:05Is there a problem with him coming off the injury?
06:07Or are we still just having problems within the offensive line?
06:10And when you have A'shaun Robinson and Vita Vea up front, that's going to create problems as well in your
06:17A's and B gaps as well.
06:18So, there is something to be said for not being able to run.
06:23You played a very good front four week one.
06:26You played a pretty good front four week two.
06:28All right, we'll talk about Carolina when we get to Carolina.
06:31So, some of that's explainable with a new offensive line.
06:34Okay, what are we doing to address that?
06:35Because you're going to run into a problem at some point where you can't just throw it on Deshaun Watson
06:39and lead your team in rushing and lead your team, obviously, throwing the football for 200 yards.
06:44Like, that's not going to be it.
06:46But I can trust him now to know that, all right, you found ways.
06:50And trust is early.
06:51That's a strong word to say.
06:53But you've went and you found ways to try to address the problems and help them out week to week
06:58instead of going, well, we got to look at it again during the bye week.
07:01We got to wait until the bye week to address some of this stuff, to reevaluate some of this stuff.
07:04No, you did it in a hurry and it showed.
07:06And the game, clearly, from the first half of the first game, I do think it started to slow down.
07:12And while a lot of people kind of made fun of any observations that credited him on the deep ball
07:18to Boston at the end of that game in garbage time, because it was garbage time.
07:22And it was noted it wasn't against all backups.
07:25It was against a starting corner when they got Boston a touchdown.
07:30Like a real coaching staff in the NFL, not fans, not media people, but a real coaching staff is going
07:36to take that and say, how can we build on this?
07:38Because this, I sound like Coach Riz, by the way, but you can build on that stuff, even if the
07:46fans like me or you or whatever would like roll our eyes and go, okay, it's not a real football
07:51game anymore.
07:52Well, that's not what coaches do.
07:53Coaches don't just quit when they're down 30 and go in the back room and light up a cigarette, even
07:57though Munkin probably wants to do that.
07:59Like he's not going to do that.
08:00They're going to actually still coach and try to find takeaways.
08:03It's not the preseason.
08:04It was an actual game and guys are out there putting their bodies on the line.
08:08And I think you saw that they did build on that second half.
08:12So now you can't just say that that was a waste, even though it was garbage time against Jacksonville.
08:17They used it to build and the game slowed down for Deshaun Watson.
08:22I think that was obvious in the Tampa Bay game.
08:24Albert Breer said something quite damning coming up at 722.
08:27And I wasn't going to say this on a victory Monday, especially the first one of the year.
08:31It's too much fun.
08:32There's too much of a celebration, but today it's a different day.
08:36We're already getting ready for Carolina.
08:38And, uh, I think we're getting a little bit of ahead of ourselves when it comes to certain fears.
