00:00If the rumors are correct, if the leaks are correct, though,
00:03we now know, JP, who the Browns will face week one.
00:07Actually, I believe it's five of their road games have been leaked.
00:11Week one will be, allegedly, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
00:15Week two will be Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa as well.
00:21And it's funny.
00:23If you had told me going into, hey, I think it's going to be Jacksonville,
00:27I'd be like, oh, okay.
00:29But once I saw Jacksonville, I was like, all right, that's, you know,
00:33at least it's not another AFC North kind of matchup here.
00:37I don't love it.
00:38If we trust the leaks, okay, just trust the leaks,
00:41and maybe this will end up being proven wrong.
00:43But as of right now, it looks like it's us and the Dolphins,
00:48and that's it when it comes to teams that are starting both two games on the road.
00:52Like, that's an unfair thing.
00:54Now, in fairness, I will agree on the two straight road things.
00:56Yeah.
00:57We're in lockstep.
00:57Like, there's a reason why I, like, think about it.
00:58Like, the Chiefs, for instance, are starting both games at home.
01:00The Rams are starting both games at home.
01:01Like, the NFL does this sometimes, and it bothers me.
01:04The idea that, I don't know, we're less than for a team this year.
01:08Okay, fine.
01:09But, like, giving Munkin a chance to start his Browns tenure with two straight road games,
01:15in two straight games, by the way, where you are then, you're going to be,
01:18I just looked at the odds, week one, they've already set the lines on this.
01:21You're a touchdown and a half underdog against Jacksonville in that week one game.
01:25That is the second largest spread of the week.
01:29I don't know what it'll be against the Buccaneers,
01:31but I would imagine it'd be somewhere in that same range,
01:33somewhere maybe six and a half, five and a half, somewhere there.
01:35Like, you're going to be a pretty heavy dog, all things considered,
01:38starting against those two teams on the road.
01:40I think it's a miserable way to start off the Munkin era.
01:42All right, so I don't take umbrage to the Browns clearly getting no love
01:48in the scheduling of week one, because I think it's pretty apparent,
01:52and I think it makes sense that you've got a team that their quarterback
01:57is going to be either Shador or Deshaun, which nationally,
01:59I don't know how much that's going to drive interest either way,
02:03and then they're coming off a five-win season,
02:06and the season before was a three-win season.
02:09Vegas has them at six and a half wins.
02:11So I do think that you go through times where people go,
02:16the NFL schedulers go, all right, who are the 20 most important teams
02:20to make sure they've got a good first-round matchup?
02:22Oh, yeah, no, we're the leftovers.
02:23And the Browns are one of the leftovers.
02:24Yeah, that's all.
02:25I think the Jets are one of the leftovers.
02:26I don't remember who they are, but it's another kind of very similar matchup.
02:29Miami, another team that I mentioned that is starting both games on the road,
02:33NFL leftovers.
02:34But once I get past, and by the way, I don't even have to get past that.
02:36It's not disrespectful.
02:38That's what you earned.
02:39That's what the Browns have earned here.
02:41I just don't look at the Jags.
02:43It's like when I saw it was a seven-and-a-half-point line,
02:46there was a are-you-bleeping-kidding-me?
02:49It's like what are we turning these Jacksonville Jaguars into?
02:52I know, but they won 13 games last year.
02:54Like, listen, they won the division.
02:57They won 13 games.
02:58I don't think they're as great of a team as clearly Vegas thinks that they are.
03:03But, like, you're seven-and-a-half points.
03:05They don't think they're, you know, dog-boy.
03:06I'm about to run to FanDuel and take the Browns in seven-and-a-half points week one.
03:11Now, week two, it's different because, but, like, week one is always a toss-up.
03:18And you're on the other side of it.
03:20Take it while you can get it.
03:21Not since Tom Coughlin do I think the Jaguars have had multiple good seasons in a row.
03:27I think Trevor Lawrence is still on fraud watch.
03:30Like, I think this is, in terms of the games that you could have had,
03:33I'd rather face the Jags week one than the Ravens.
03:37Oh, definitely.
03:38I mean, well, I don't know.
03:39The Ravens have a brand-new head coach.
03:41Like, there's still some new there.
03:43But I don't want to play the Ravens in general.
03:44That's kind of the point I'm going to make.
03:45I think the Ravens are a better team than the Jacksonville.
03:48But I don't know.
03:49So, back-to-back weeks on the road to start off is just not something I feel great about.
03:54I don't feel like we're getting robbed here, but I don't feel like it's not a great start.
03:59Don't they also have nine road games as opposed to eight home games this year?
04:03Right?
04:04I don't remember if this is the year.
04:05I never remember the rotation.
04:07The reason why I was asking is because I think you almost have to stack it early to try and
04:11balance it.
04:12You're right.
04:12You're right.
04:13We have eight home games this year.
04:14We have nine road games.
04:16By the way, even the Buccaneers, and I actually think the Buccaneers got,
04:19a lot better this offseason.
04:21The Evans thing being the big quantifier, but I think that defense is going to be better.
04:27I think Reuben Bain with a 15th pick is an asinine fall.
04:30Like, that is kismet.
04:32That is Kyle Hamilton to the Ravens with a 14th pick, and then Tyler Linderbaum to the Ravens.
04:37There's like seven or nine picks later.
04:41But, yeah, the Jags, like, they had a bad offseason, and James Gladstone is a full-blown goober.
04:47He's very new.
04:48And, no, now he's very new.
04:51He was new last year.
04:52He's new.
04:52He drafted a blocking tight end with his first pick.
04:55I did not understand the draft.
04:56I mean, he knows that.
04:58It got questioned by everyone.
04:59I did not understand his draft.
05:00Does he know the point of the offseason is to get better?
05:03Yeah, I don't know what he's doing over there.
05:05Because I do think, like, most years, maybe they had a good offseason, maybe they didn't.
05:09You know, like, you can have your preferences.
05:10It's very hard to tell.
05:13In the NFL, where parity is so just one through 32.
05:17He's one of those GMs that's very protected by what happened with Los Angeles.
05:20Oh, yeah, yeah.
05:21You know, he's very protected.
05:22And the NFL has given him that kind of leeway to go ahead and maybe make some of these crazy
05:26things.
05:27And he had success last year.
05:29Sorry, the Jags had success, so he gets the kiss there.
05:32Like, I don't know.
05:34I don't love facing Liam Cohen, who I've heard quite a few people say this offseason that they think he
05:40is the best signal caller in the NFL.
05:42I think that's a tad premature, but I'm sure he's damn good.
05:45He's also one of those that's beating the charges of really bad introductory press conference that then turns into, oh,
05:49no, he actually is winning a lot of games.
05:50You almost want him to have a bad press conference at this point.
05:53You kind of do, though.
05:54Is it going to be Dan Campbell?
05:55Is it going to be Nick Sirianni?
05:56As if, like, all right, I got a new thought on that.
05:59Okay.
05:59Like, the reason why they're so bad at these press conferences is because they just suck at being humans.
06:04But one reason why they suck at being humans is because they're so otherworldly dedicated to being a great football
06:10coach that the life part of life just completely passes them.
06:13So the more socially awkward you are as a head coach, maybe not the worst thing in the world.
06:17I know you love it when a head coach is just an awful person.
06:21Yes, I do.
06:22Yeah.
06:22Yeah, when you say awful person, I just say incredibly dedicated and very non-functional in every aspect of life
06:28outside of football.
06:29Because I only ask my football coach to do football things.
06:32I don't ask him to be a great person.
06:34I don't ask him to be a great husband.
06:36None of that stuff.
06:37I see my kid 30 minutes a week.
06:39Yeah.
06:40That's what I want out of my head coach.
06:41Be a miserable dad.
06:43Be a miserable husband.
06:44All those things.
06:45I just want you to coach my football team at a high rate.
06:47Spin zone.
06:48Munkin got to Cleveland, sold his horses.
06:50I know that's not exactly how it works at, but that's how we're spinning it.
06:53Okay.
06:53Yeah.
06:54The man loves football so much, he's like, bleep horses.
06:57I'm out.
06:57Except when it's a derby and maybe I got some action on it.
07:00Even he did a little too much derby convo for my liking.
07:02I like somebody that's very awkward in general, doesn't really understand people, and you
07:08want to know why?
07:08Because he's been grinding tape for 25 years.
07:10He hasn't seen sunlight since 1997.
07:13You just described Joe Woods and Kevin Stefanski.
07:17No, Stefanski had a life.
07:19Okay.
07:20Joe Woods had too much of a life.
07:21Ask around, friend.
07:22216-474-0092.
07:24Not as much of a life as Freddie Kitchens did.
07:27Is a Browns-Jags opener better than the typical AFC North opener?
07:33I think the Browns are going 1-0.
07:35I'm not going to lock it in.
07:36That feels like a very hackneyed thing to be like, I'm going to call my shot on one of
07:40the five games that have been leaked by the Cleveland Browns.
07:43I mean, I'll let you lock it in.
07:44There's zero repercussions for locking in a Browns week one win.
07:48And I can take it back like four times.
07:50And you can be like, geez.
07:51And just do what Lima does.
07:52Benefit of new information.
07:53I did that in May.
07:54We didn't know who the starting quarterback was going to be.
07:57By the way, today should be a trust tree with a nest moment.
08:00Yeah.
08:01Yeah.
08:01I think the morning show and us have never been closer together in where we are with this
08:07team.
08:08We are one Cavs win away in game six from uniting this station.
08:13That's how close we are.
08:15Disagree.
08:16Why?
08:16Because then we're going to haggle over what they need to do in the Eastern Conference
08:19Finals.
08:20Well, yeah, but you've got to be able to get to that conversation.
08:22That's going to be annoying.
