00:00Is it only you in that clip?
00:01No, you're in the clip, but are they ripping you too?
00:05No, it only seems like they're ripping Ken, and I'm like,
00:07I think they missed the stuff I was saying about,
00:10and it was actually probably considerably worse about him.
00:15I don't know what it is.
00:17He's one of the most exciting quarterbacks I've ever seen, Lamar Jackson.
00:22We, and rightfully so, we struck down any of the idiocy
00:25about him moving to wide receiver, running back, or any of that stuff
00:29before he came out because he was a legitimate quarterback.
00:33But I think we have enough proof in there by now
00:36that I don't think anybody's betting on him in the playoffs.
00:39Like, no chance. No chance.
00:42Wait, are you saying these things because now you want the heat too?
00:45Well, I think I kind of alluded to it first.
00:47He's like, none of the people are calling me rat boy today.
00:49I know. I know I'm a little annoyed because I think I feel,
00:55I feel like I have less faith in him in the playoffs than even you do.
00:59I like Lamar. That's the thing.
01:00I just don't care.
01:01Yeah, he's so likable.
01:03This is what actually plays into it.
01:05I only care if I upset Cleveland fans.
01:07That's the only ones I care.
01:09Like, we had LA fans.
01:10How dare you and that mystical voice that isn't on camera
01:13say these things about Otani?
01:15I don't care.
01:16Oklahoma City fans last year.
01:19I didn't care.
01:20I was just like, eh, you know, they're good fans too.
01:22Fine.
01:23I'll walk it back a little bit, but I didn't care.
01:24And I certainly don't care about Ravens fans because none of them
01:27are saying I'm, I mean, they're all saying I'm wrong.
01:30None of them can really prove me wrong because proof's in the pudding
01:33right there.
01:34Again, when Siciliano tells me yesterday on the air during the preview show
01:38that, hey, that clip, I sent it around to some people in the NFL
01:41and they agreed.
01:42I'm like, oh, okay.
01:44Fine.
01:45Champions pose on that one.
01:46I'll take that.
01:47The reason it's all brought up is I care about upsetting Cleveland fans.
01:53Nobody else because I don't go out of my way to upset Cleveland fans.
01:58I like teams in Cleveland.
01:59I like Cleveland.
02:00Everybody knows that.
02:02And so when I see that we're liars and morons and idiots and all the other
02:08words that I can't even repeat over saying that Todd Munkin picked the,
02:12picked the start.
02:13Well, I'm not getting called tubby for this opinion.
02:16When we say, well, I can get called tubby for anything.
02:19When I say that Todd Munkin picked the starter and he picked Deshaun Watson,
02:25I have no other choice but to stand in there and take it.
02:29Now I've said things before that I've walked back.
02:32Like the time you trapped me about Michigan or the time you've trapped me
02:35about Browns quarterbacks or guarantees or anything like that.
02:39But this, did we or did we not dig our heels in when it came to the whole
02:44who spearheaded the search for Deshaun?
02:47We've dug our heels in on other things.
02:49We ended up being right about it.
02:51I have to dig my heels in on this.
02:53We know what we know.
02:55Okay?
02:56It seems crazy that the head coach would pick Deshaun Watson
03:01because you can only see what you see.
03:04And that's what bothers you.
03:05And I get it.
03:07You don't get to see the meetings.
03:08I don't get to see the meetings either.
03:10I can just take the guy's word for it.
03:11It's so easy to say conspiracy and say the owner came down and picked the guy.
03:15All right.
03:16Well, we also don't want to think that Shador could possibly be worse.
03:19That all those, whether it's the operation stuff,
03:22whether it's taking care of the football,
03:25whether it's creating their own sacks,
03:26you don't want to think there's a possibility that the guy behind him is worse.
03:29Yeah, but I think that I'm just a Browns fan.
03:32And it's like, hey, if Shador does great, great.
03:34If not, I got my eyes on all those quarterbacks that are playing on Saturday,
03:38just like we've talked about a million times.
03:39So I'm not beholden to one guy in this QB room.
03:42Yeah, I like one more than the other ones because I'm a fan of his father's,
03:46but I'm not beholden to him.
03:47So as a person talking to Browns fans, like, yeah,
03:51it sucks that Deshaun Watson's starting and all these bad feelings are being dredged up
03:56and that he cannot stop saying things that either make you side-eye him or cuss at him.
04:03But I know what I know.
04:06And if I go down with the ship, there is one situation I went down with the ship on,
04:12then I guess I'll go down with it.
04:14But like, well, you're a liar because you didn't like hearing the truth.
04:18You can't be a liar.
04:20I understand you don't like hearing it.
04:22It doesn't make it a lie if you don't like hearing it.
04:25And you're the same way.
04:27You're with me on this.
04:28You, me, and Jason, oddly enough, we've been around a lot of things
04:31that we've been proven right on.
04:33I know you don't like hearing it.
04:35I don't like saying it.
04:36I don't like upsetting you so I wouldn't lie to you.
04:39That fair enough?
04:41So, yeah, he got picked by the head coach to start.
04:45You can call me a liar all you want.
04:47I know the truth.
04:48So, yeah, and I'll deal with it for one more week
04:51because I do believe that he picked it,
04:55and I do believe that the ownership does not want to just troll you,
05:00and we keep bringing up money.
05:02The money's already spent.
05:03Yeah, nobody's ever given a legitimate reason
05:06what the motivation would be for Hazem.
05:08They want the money in return.
05:11The alternative reason, the one that I think if you wanted to do conspiracy,
05:15the one that's closer is that you're thinking,
05:17he's a broken quarterback.
05:19He's terrible, Ken.
05:20You said it himself.
05:21Jimmy wants the number one overall pick.
05:23That one's more believable than the money thing.
05:27But I do think that he hired a head coach.
05:30I picked you to be the head coach.
05:31You make the football decision.
05:33For better, for worse, we'll see how it goes.
05:34And they made the football decision,
05:37and we're all left to deal with the football decision that's made
05:39for at least one more week.
05:41One of the adages in money we were just talking about,
05:44you know, the investors and Travis Kelsey and everything,
05:47is never throw good money after bad.
05:49This would be bad money after bad.
05:50And it's kind of a moot point because the money's been spent anyway.
05:54So, you know, you just got to get back to understanding that there's not
05:58a real reason at all, if anything, I could show you the opposite,
06:02that Jimmy Haslam trying to extract anything out of the Deshaun Watson
06:06situation would lead to more bad money in case you actually thought about,
06:10you know, tagging him or signing him.
06:12Remember we were talking, what if they go to the playoffs and win 10 games,
06:1511 games?
06:15What are you going to sign him to an extension?
06:17Like, all of that just culminates into worse feelings from your fan base,
06:21not better.
06:22Because I think to all of us, and guys, I'm with you on this,
06:25it defies logic that he'd be out there.
06:27It defies logic.
06:29Because the fans don't want to see him, and he hasn't played well.
06:32So, I don't think he has the opportunity to change our minds.
06:36He really doesn't.
06:37Like, guys, let's say, let's entertain the idea.
06:40Like, I'm not picking the Browns for the rest of the year, right?
06:42Let's live in a fantasy and say he does go out there and has a really good game
06:46and beats Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay.
06:48All right.
06:49Okay.
06:50Well, he'll start next week against Carolina.
06:53And if he returns to form of anything.
06:55Unless there's, you know, a back issue that creeps up after the game.
06:59Well, no, I'm talking about something different.
07:01But you know what I mean.
07:02Yeah.
07:03If he goes and plays against Carolina, if he has a mess-up,
07:08he's going to get his face booed off.
07:10Because you won't trust him after one game.
07:12And by the way, every quarterback has a mess-up.
07:14The good quarterbacks have mess-ups.
07:16So, I think that this is, in so many ways, this is his Waterloo.
07:19And I think that they know that this is his Waterloo.
07:22And I will be one of the least shocked people in the world
07:25when they name Shador Sanders the starter for week three.
07:28I understand Ralph Acchiano has said that the Shador will not start
07:32until October starts.
07:33So, after that Thursday night game, which, by the way,
07:35on the calendar would make sense.
07:37But if I'm Kenny Carman, the owner, and we brought this up yesterday,
07:40and I do think that Jimmy would think this way.
07:43It's like, I'm trying to get a stadium built here.
07:45Well, I'm building a stadium.
07:46The stadium's going to be built one way or another.
07:47I would like people to want to come to the stadium.
07:49And I know we're three years off.
07:51There's a lot of time for forgiveness if we have a good football team.
07:55But you know what?
07:56Trying to run a business here.
07:58Not trying to upset people.
07:59I know it's probably going to be a lean season as it is.
08:02Maybe let's just get through it.
08:04I don't think he'd go out of it and go, nah.
08:06Well, why?
08:07$40 million as opposed to 2.3 or 2.6 or whatever the hell it costs?
08:12$40 million as opposed to over $2 billion?
08:18No.
08:20Doesn't make sense.
08:22So, we'll find out.
08:24But, rarely do I dig my heels in this deep, guys.
08:27A lot of times there's pressure and I go, fine, fine, fine.
08:30And then sometimes I regret doing it, but here we are.
08:32And you're the same way as I am.
08:34All right.
08:35There's people who want to get in.
08:37Trust me.
08:38There will be plenty of time later and tomorrow to complain about Deshaun Watson.
08:42I get it.
08:42Trust me.
