01:26me down. I mean, I've waited a long time to be a head coach in this league, man. It's
01:29freaking awesome, and we're not where we want to be, and they better get us now. I mean,
01:34because, again, we've got a good young group, and we just didn't play well today.
01:37And I invoke the legend of Tom Herschel, who's still with us, by the way. He just lives in
01:41Hilton Head. And he had said to me when I got here, he's like, hey, you got the job.
01:46Congratulations. Now you got to keep the job. It's a very sobering thing when the president
01:49of the company says that to you. And I thought about that all the time, because this is a
01:54dream job. People would love to do this, just like they would love to be a head coach in
01:58the NFL. And I don't need to be reminded of that every time. And yesterday, he had his
02:04media availability, and my phone just started lighting up out of nowhere when I was in one of
02:09my meetings because of this. We're disappointed, but what do we have to be
02:13down about? I mean, I sure as hell don't. Waited my whole life to be a head coach. I said
02:17that the
02:17other night. Heck, I'm 60. I don't know how many years I got left. I mean, I'm going to enjoy
02:20every
02:20day and work my rear end off to get this damn thing turned. And our players have nothing to be,
02:25what do they have to be bummed about? Get paid to play this game. And so we're going to go

02:29there and have a heck of a Wednesday practice. And tomorrow, have a great Thursday and Friday and take
02:33another step forward this Sunday. I really like Todd, man. I really, really do. But you just got to
02:38stop saying that. All right? Because if things don't go well, and they don't look like they're
02:42going to go well, and you keep saying that, it's going to sound like you're separating yourself
02:46from our frustration. Like, okay, I know that you've been paid a boatload of money, and this
02:52might be your only crack as a head coach in the NFL. Probably if it doesn't work out here, it's
02:55going to be his only crack. He's 60 years old for crying out loud. So if this is going to
02:59be your
02:59only shot at it, you just can't keep telling us how you basically won the lottery here because
03:03we're the ones left dealing with it. Like he can move and go back to Wheaton, Illinois,
03:08Illinois, or Maryland, or wherever he's lived at before, and settle down and enjoy life.

03:27and we glare at each other all the time now, don't we? So it's like, just, you got to stop
03:31reminding me that it's your dream job, man. And people are going, was he listening?
03:36Because he's active on social media. I go, he ain't listening to this. He better not be
03:40listening to this. He better not be. If you're out there, you better not be listening to this
03:45because you can't listen to it. And second of all, I don't want you saying it because
03:49it's killing me here. We got it. We know it's a dream. You can't keep repeating it.
03:54What's incredible is just by virtue of him starting Deshaun in week one, and I guess then what we saw
04:02out of him on those first four drives. But just by virtue of him starting him to begin with,
04:07it's eroded all the fun, all the tough-talking, truth-sayer Todd stuff. He was going to be such
04:15a departure from the previous head coach that he was actually going to tell us the real stuff.
04:21He's got to talk turkey for once. We were going to get that from a head coach,
04:24and it kind of eroded in record time. And now, you know, I kind of feel like, all right,
04:29he had four weeks. He has the first two weeks, and then he goes to Shador, and then he got
04:33another
04:33two weeks. But then I thought about it. If Shador plays spectacularly well against Carolina,
04:39fans are going to go, we have no trust in this head coach whatsoever. He picked the wrong
04:43quarterback. If you can't be trusted... I already know what I'm going to say. If you can't be trusted
04:48to pick the better quarterback out of the two when one is Deshaun Watson, then no trust the rest of
04:54the year, you're done. Because anything will be you fell ass backwards into it. If they have any
04:59success whatsoever in Shador. But you know that's going to be... I don't care what you say. That's
05:03going to be the prevailing wisdom. You know the Shador people are going to let him have it and go,
05:07we can't trust Cleveland to pick the right quarterback. Well, this would be theoretical
05:10here because I've tried to tell people the truth, and they just call me a liar or an idiot for
05:14it.
05:14And I go, guys, when do I ever dig my heels in? It's about things I know. And what I
05:19know is that
05:20Todd Munkin made this decision. I know he made this decision. As much as you don't like hearing
05:24it, I know he made this decision. But you could always turn right around, and I'll make the
05:28argument for him, especially if they're winning games, and I don't care. I'll make the argument
05:31all day long. Do I like Todd? Yeah. So I'd love to say, and I hope it's the truth, it's
05:36only a theory
05:36that, hey, he probably did what was right by Shador. Did you want Shador going out there with that defense
05:41against that football team with that new offensive line? And that offensive line wasn't that bad.
05:46That certainly wasn't that bad. But we were worried about how that thing would gel. Certainly
05:50we were. And now we're going to go up in another one. You already agreed with me. I know. Not
05:54to
05:54let him have to try to make the bet that Deshaun Watson ruined. They're going to say he started
05:58the wrong quarterback. And it doomed the season from moment one. I've told the truth in the face
06:03of silliness before, and the face of people going after me before, and I don't like to rock the boat.
06:10I really don't. But if I have to in this case, I'll do it again. Because there's things we do
06:15know.
06:15What was the Andrew Barry thing that we knew about Deshaun Watson? Were we right or were
06:19we right? We were right. So when it comes to this, am I right or am I right? I know
06:23I'm
06:23right on this. And if it ends up being Shador takes off, I don't think anybody's really going
06:27to care because we're actually winning football games. But if we really want to get into the
06:30minutiae of it, I'll go, maybe it was the best thing for Shador Sanders to not have to
06:34deal with an obscene mess to start things off, to sit there and watch how it's not to be
06:39done, and then take over because the fans will support him. They'll turn right around and lift
06:43him up because it's something better than anything we've seen. So I'd be willing to
06:47make that argument. I don't know if it's true, but I'm just telling you right now, if it does
06:50go well, after he gets to play, I'll say it. But the only thing I'm just saying is that
06:55we know it's your dream job, and it's a nice feeling. I'm glad you wanted to be here.
06:59And we hope that you do well. I hope that he does well. You know, you just don't have to
07:05remind me every time. Because if you keep reminding me every time, it sounds like, A, if things
07:11do go bad, you're above all this, which makes me feel like you've separated yourself emotionally
07:16from Browns fan struggles, which is what you can't do. Or, I mean, that's really the most
07:23I can say about it. Or B, you just keep, you know you've made a mistake, and you just keep

07:29to tell yourself that you've wanted this job your whole life, and now you got it.
