00:00e batalha para o overall.
00:02Levi Kitchin é out
00:03e,
00:05actually,
00:06Bomair e Jemez
00:07são quase enough
00:08to catch Kitchin
00:09in points,
00:10porque eles podem ser
00:10potentially,
00:11em Jemez's case,
00:13a 50-point gain
00:14today
00:15on Kitchin.
00:17Man,
00:18that just puts salt
00:19on the wounds.
00:19And I believe a chance
00:20does that.
00:21He has the tiebreaker
00:22if they do tie.
00:23Wow.
00:24Here it is.
00:25Final 250 moto
00:26of a wild season.
00:28Revs are up.
00:30Gates down
00:31and a tremendous
00:32start for Davies.
00:33Of course he does
00:34out there.
00:35But it looks like
00:36his teammate
00:36gets there first.
00:38And that angle
00:39did not work out.
00:40But it is a battalion
00:43of the Yamahas up front.
00:45Davies, Veneer, Gordon.
00:47Tuesday at the test track
00:48right here.
00:49Four-star racing Yamahas
00:50up there.
00:53Benick and Thrasher
00:54coming through next.
00:55Gavin Towers
00:56a good start
00:57on the 73.
00:58Ryder Malinowski
00:59and only his second
01:00pro race in the mix
01:01as well.
01:02But Gordon,
01:03man,
01:04I don't know what
01:05he did in the last
01:06two weeks.
01:06He is a completely
01:07different rider leading
01:08away.
01:08And I just saw a chance
01:09in the last two weeks.
01:09I think he went down in
01:10that corner.
01:11So hopefully he did.
01:13But the way it looked
01:14like he was right
01:16behind towers.
01:17And then we might have
01:18lost him.
01:18We'll find out in a
01:19moment when we hit the
01:20next split.
01:21And it's a Yamaha photo
01:22shoot right here.
01:24Yeah, Cole's already made
01:26the pass on his teammate,
01:27Veneer.
01:29So at this point,
01:30I think if Cole feels comfortable
01:32on the track,
01:33which he has all day,
01:34might as well go for the
01:35double win here.
01:37Possibly overall
01:38Moto win,
01:39birthday cake.
01:40Get two up, Cole,
01:41if you win this one.
01:42They still pay bonus money
01:43for wins,
01:44probably around 50 grand
01:45on the line.
01:46And you're right,
01:47Hymas is headed to the back
01:48after the early crash.
01:50So that's the Moto 1 winner
01:51there with the blue gear
01:52on the red motorcycle.
01:54I actually can't wait for this
01:55Moto because we saw that
01:56Rod Chance did.
01:57Able to come up and make
01:59those passes that were
02:00watching the battle.
02:01Landon Gordon leading some
02:01laps.
02:02It's the first time of the
02:03year.
02:04Leading, but see what Chance
02:06can do as Cole Davis looks
02:08like he's going to make the
02:08pass here on his teammate,
02:10which he does.
02:12Do a look.
02:12Look back.
02:14And Landon coming back at
02:15him.
02:17And Davies to the lead.
02:19Yeah, I can tell you right
02:20there that look back.
02:22Cole's having fun.
02:23up there.
02:24He's in a great spot.
02:25Track looks good.
02:26No pressure.
02:28Let's see what 37 can do
02:29out front.
02:30You're champion.
02:31This might be a 30-minute
02:32and two-lap coronation
02:33party for the man from New
02:36Zealand.
02:36Getting away.
02:38And no sign of either
02:39Beaumere.
02:39He is eighth or Hymas who
02:41can battle him for this
02:43overall win.
02:43The title has already
02:44sewn up.
02:45It's Cole Davis' day.
02:47Able on the way.
02:50Sometimes, like you said
02:51earlier, you get these
02:52positions where you get
02:53a champion that wraps it up
02:54in the first moto.
02:55He just disappears in the
02:57second one.
02:57I think a lot of it's all
02:58the relief.
02:59If they don't get a good
02:59start just emotionally, it's
03:00hard to go.
03:01But Cole got that start.
03:03And he wants to send them
03:04out.
03:04Kind of what I thought.
03:06This guy is a winner.
03:09Racing him in the grocery
03:11store if he's out there.
03:12Cole Davis wants to beat
03:13you.
03:13And no matter what the
03:14situation is.
03:15Well, he was talking about
03:16him and Venere with the
03:17pickleball.
03:18Claiming they're going to
03:18turn pro in that sport.
03:20Venere in third.
03:21Gordon second.
03:22Let's go to JT.
03:23The funniest part of this
03:24is these three are a trio.
03:26Not only in this moto but
03:27off the racetrack as well.
03:29Cole Davis even spoke about
03:31these two kind of keeping
03:32him loose in these high
03:34pressure situations.
03:35They're such jokesters
03:36throughout the week.
03:36It's funny to see him kind
03:38of giving him a coronation
03:40here in the second moto
03:41flanking.
03:42Yeah, they're invited to the
03:43birthday party for sure.
03:44And it's at the front of the
03:45pack.
03:46And Venere and Davies grew
03:48up racing each other.
03:49They're both 19.
03:50One from Australia, one from
03:52New Zealand.
03:52They go way back.
03:54Venere.
03:54I was joking with him
03:55yesterday.
03:56He was born at this track
03:57two years ago in the SMX
03:58next race.
03:59He was basically a complete
04:01unknown in America and went
04:02out and dominated the first
04:03moto.
04:05Davies ended up winning the
04:06overall that day.
04:07Now they're teammates and
04:07now they're running up front.
04:08Oh, this is high miss.
04:10More problems we hear.
04:11It's like kitchen corner
04:13right here.
04:14Yeah.
04:14Chance gets in there and go
04:16across the creek.
04:17So there's a little valley
04:18right there.
04:19Looks like chance got in too
04:19hot.
04:21Goes down and hopefully able
04:23to pick up and finish this
04:24race.
04:25But yeah, bummer for him
04:26after winning, dominating
04:27that first moto.
04:28And now you've got to take
04:29that shot for third and
04:30points or second out the
04:32window at the moment.
04:35Yeah.
04:35Well, mayor has a lot of work
04:36to do, but he has moved up
04:38now from eighth to fifth.
04:41Again, a good run by
04:42Malinowski, but waiting for
04:43to see what he could do
04:45turning pro after winning a
04:47amateur title at Loretta
04:49Lins a couple of weeks ago
04:49on the club of X machine.
04:51Moseman sixth.
04:52DeFrancisco eighth.
04:53Brown ninth.
04:55Benick was very good at
04:56Moto one with a fourth.
04:57Tenth.
04:57Tenth.
05:03Tenth.
05:09Tenth.
05:12Tenth.
05:13Tenth.
05:15Tenth.
05:15Tenth.
05:19Tenth.
05:25Tenth.
05:33Tenth.
05:36Tenth.
05:41Tenth.
05:43Muito bom para o corner.
05:46Close, this is where Chance went down from the other shot.
05:48You see this valley right here, so probably pretty deep
05:52with the shadows going.
05:53If you're charging in there too much, called Chance out.
05:56But nonetheless, Juju's looking good.
06:00Now able to clear Grasher and go after Maneer.
06:06Right now he needs second overall.
06:09You know, he's eight seconds back on Davies.
06:11How deep can he dig?
06:13He'd have to beat Davies to win the overall.
06:15That's what would pay the really big money.
06:19Well, we heard Juju on the podium.
06:21He was excited.
06:21He's like pretty strong in his second moto.
06:23So he's looking at this.
06:25I think he's feeling pretty comfortable.
06:27And I'm sure at some point he's going to realize that, hey,
06:30I'm about to get second overall here in the championship.
06:35Yeah, all year he has said the second motos have been better.
06:38He's been working at all sorts of different warm-ups, different diet plans in the morning
06:42to try to get himself firing earlier in that first moto.
06:45What has not been in doubt is the fitness of this guy.
06:49He had that major back injury, career-threatening injury.
06:52Spent six months just training.
06:54Wasn't able to ride the motorcycle.
06:56And he has really built himself a base.
06:58Did not take any shortcuts.
07:01And it's paying off right now as he's inside of a mirror and has to pass.
07:05Yeah, he's cut him off.
07:06Good pass by Julian right there.
07:08And that's impressive for him to be able to have this conditioning like he did
07:12being off the motorcycle for a long.
07:14Normally, you've got to get in that race shape.
07:15So, so far this year, he's been strong.
07:18You've got to believe whatever he was doing, he built a really strong base.
07:21And once he got back on the motorcycle, this guy's one of the fittest ones out here in both classes.
07:28Up to third, and he took, geez, about two seconds off of the gap.
07:36It was 8.4 at one point, it's 6.9.
07:39Now, Davies just matched him the last time around.
07:41But on that lap where he made some moves, he actually closed a little bit.
07:45You've got to wonder, is Davies managing it?
07:48You know he's not going to take any unnecessary risks also.
07:53Also, remember Landon Gordon is trying to make up points on Drew Adams
07:57to get that final direct transfer into the Modos for the playoffs.
08:01Adams back in 10th.
08:03Gordon doing all he can in 2nd.
08:07And he would do it.
08:09Adams has moved up enough.
08:10He's actually up to 18th.
08:11Yoder on the Club of X.
08:12Yamaha would be in.
08:13It's the idle Romano.
08:17Gordon would move ahead of him.
08:18And Romano, if he returns to the playoffs, some injury would have to race the wildcard race.
08:23But Gordon has to hold on for this second.
08:26And Bomair is hustling behind him.
08:30Yeah, great ride by Landon Gordon right here.
08:34Starting to lose touch with his teammate.
08:36Cole Davies kind of throwing down the gauntlet right here.
08:39Maybe he saw that number 13 come in.
08:41He said, hey, I'd like to tow you around, but I've got to win today.
08:44So good stuff.
08:46Let's see if Julian can close in.
08:47Because right now he's tied with Levi in the points for second.
08:52Figure out that tiebreaker, but solid day for him.
08:55He needs to get Gordon.
08:59I think he's going to go down to Moto Wins for the tiebreaker.
09:02And Kitchin would have the edge on Bomair there.
09:08But Bomair is trying to close on Gordon.
09:10Gordon cannot lose his position or he is headed to the wildcard race.
09:18Is this enough?
09:19It's actually up by nine now on Romano.
09:21So, no, he's in the top 20, I believe, either way.
09:25Okay, so the motivation is Bomair, if he's aware of where it is at points.
09:30Trying to go after second in this series.
09:33Yeah, I'm assuming he's probably aware.
09:34His mechanics need one more.
09:38And Julian would understand that he needs to beat Cole Davies to win the overalls.
09:41I'm sure he knows exactly what he's talking about.
09:43But long race, 20 minutes plus, two laps left.
09:47A lot of time for Juju to be able to hunt down these two in front of him.
09:50He keeps this pace.
09:52Man, how about Landon Gordon?
09:54If he can end the year with back-to-back podiums as we hook back up with Davies.
09:58Again, I don't know what Gordon changed in the last nine days.
10:03Unbelievable.
10:04Well, he probably saw Carson Wood in the next program and all this.
10:08Hey, I better step it up over here.
10:10But, you know, when the team's having success like Star Racing Yamaha,
10:14you got Cole Davies winning your championship.
10:16It brings the best out of all these guys, and you start to see it.
10:19And they're young, so a little bit of confidence brings a lot, JT.
10:23Yeah, James, I just wanted to kind of circle back to something you mentioned earlier
10:26and how these riders respond after they wrap up a championship.
10:30And it seems like it can go one of two different ways, and I mean extremely different ways.
10:35Let's go back to 2020.
10:36Zach Osborne wins that first 450 Pro Motocross Championship.
10:39He could barely ride afterwards.
10:41Like, he just had nothing left to give.
10:43And he talked about this adrenaline dump that he really could find no intensity.
10:47He couldn't summon any effort.
10:48And then you transition to this.
10:50And Cole Davies, comfortably out front, riding by himself,
10:54doesn't seem to be bothered by much at all.
10:56So it just strikes me at the contrast between the two in exactly the same situation.
11:01Yeah, and I think a lot of that comes down is start.
11:03You know, if they get a start where, like, Cole did, then you just continue
11:07and having fun with your teammates, having a good time.
11:10It's not too hot outside, so it looks good.
11:12And then you go back to Zach and a couple other riders, a bad start,
11:15knowing that you just accomplished what you wanted to do.
11:17Just that mental drain that these athletes have once they accomplish that goal.
11:22Man, it's something that, unless you've done it before,
11:25you wouldn't believe how tired mentally these guys are after accomplishing
11:29what they've ultimately set out for.
11:33And Davies, the gap right back where it was when Bomair first moved into third place.
11:388.6 seconds, so Bomair not catching him any longer.
11:40And Cole Davies is pouring it on.
11:44Yeah, Cole looks good. He looked good all day.
11:47And I give him credit because he talked about the pressure of championships.
11:50He looked loose all day.
11:52And I believe Cole's the strongest when he's out front.
11:55He's able to kind of choose his lines like Jet Lawrence in the 450 class.
12:00When he allowed this guy out front, man, he is hard to beat
12:02because he's doing exactly what he wants to do, hopping over and doing it pretty easy.
12:06As Chance Hymas, shout-out to him for picking that bike up and continue fighting up here.
12:11He's in 11th right now, and he needs three more places to build a knockoff landing.
12:16Gordon for podium here today.
12:20It's Malinowski that he's challenging in his second pro race.
12:23Again, mentioned he's on the Club MX Yamaha, so didn't get to see much of Malinowski.
12:28His first three motos, much better here, but he's got to deal with the first moto winner now.
12:33And Chance Hymas was your fastest rider on the racetrack by over two seconds, and he's coming through the pack.
12:39So you talk about Chance and the difference between, I would say, a year ago, because he kept fighting as
12:46he looks like he's going to be able to get the inside of Malinowski right here.
12:49Oh, Moseman from seventh goes down, so that'll move up both Hymas and Malinowski.
12:56And Ryder going to try to hitch a ride and learn as much as he can for one of the
13:00fastest in the game, because Hymas keeps on moving.
13:03He's up to Drew Adamtown.
13:04Yeah, he's looking good.
13:06I bet it's going to be all classes going to beat him.
13:08We need to change that corner out there.
13:10Yeah.
13:11Catching out everybody.
13:12But good stuff for all these guys.
13:15Oh, this is great.
13:16We've got Haley with Cole Davies father, Wayne.
13:19Haley.
13:20This is one proud father.
13:21Wayne, as you watch your son leading and he just won this motocross championship, what's going through your mind at
13:26this point in the day?
13:28Just extremely proud, probably to see how, I suppose, what would you call it, like mature he's ended up.
13:36There's clever decisions he's made.
13:38And even just like that first race, just sort of go out, be clever, don't get lost in the moment
13:43and make clever decisions.
13:46And like it was, just go out and race this race and see what happens.
13:50So, no, it's really cool.
13:52Very, very proud.
13:52Very happy with the star, like the star Yamaha race team and Wilhahn and Swanee.
13:57The boys are like, put a lot of effort into Cole and it's really cool.
14:01It's really paid off.
14:02So, very happy.
14:04We've seen how much he's grown as a rider, but as a young man, what's the biggest area of growth
14:08you've seen from your son?
14:13The maturity and the decisions is really, really cool.
14:17But the motivation and dedication with training and all of the off-bike training and the on-bike training during
14:24the week.
14:27He's stepped up to make it happen.
14:31And that's like, no one else is going to do it for him.
14:33So, it's really cool.
14:35And it's awesome.
14:38Really happy.
14:39We're happy for you and your family.
14:41Thank you very much.
14:42Wayne Davey is a proud father.
14:45I talked to Wayne a lot at the races.
14:47Some of the dads, eh, got to be careful what they say.
14:49They'll tell you stuff that you don't see happen on the racetrack.
14:52Wayne pretty much calls it straight.
14:53And I want to tell you, man, I talked to him right before round one.
14:56And exactly the way he said this championship would play out is exactly a play out.
15:01He said the first couple rounds probably going to be rough.
15:03He's like, once he gets to high point, a little more technical track, probably get a win there.
15:06He did. He went 1-1.
15:08And they were confident they could win this title.
15:10No one else knew because he had barely raced motocross.
15:13We didn't know.
15:14Is he a supercross guy?
15:15Can he do the same thing in motocross or not?
15:18Dad and Cole were confident that we just hadn't seen it yet.
15:22And now we have all seen it.
15:23He's just as good on any track.
15:25No, he absolutely is.
15:26I mean, Julian Beaumere just made the pass to Landon Gordon.
15:29So, Cole, Julian's going to try to serve Cole up with a birthday present here.
15:33A charge?
15:34But, yeah, I think his dad knew.
15:36And even for me, you know your son and you know his attitude.
15:39I just based it off his attitude.
15:41I knew Cole has the right attitude.
15:43He'll work at it.
15:44So, whatever deficiencies he had, he's going to go work at it.
15:48We saw it in Supercross.
15:49And now you're seeing it play out.
15:51And he is your champion.
15:51But Julian, he's working at it.
15:53Yeah, he's working at it.
15:55Right now, he's second in point.
15:56So, he's got that position overall in the season.
15:59But he wants more because if he makes this pass, he will be your overall winner here.
16:04And look, I know that you're maybe not going to get the best of Davies because he's already wrapped up
16:09that title.
16:09But this is all confidence going into the playoff in a couple of weeks.
16:13Beaumere has circled it on the calendar.
16:15He wants to be the SMX world champ.
16:16He wants to run down Davies today.
16:19And Hymas is throwing down as well.
16:21We're talking four seconds a lap faster than the riders at the front of the pack.
16:25It's Hymas right now, halfway through the moto.
16:28Reminder to stock up on Monster Energy.
16:31Hymas is sixth.
16:32I don't know if you can count him out.
16:35No, you can't.
16:36And I started making this point earlier about Chance.
16:38You know, we've seen him with the speed in the past.
16:41But let's go down to JT first.
16:43I'm just kind of looking up the racetrack.
16:45And, you know, I'm down here.
16:46I have a little bit more perspective than you do on screen there.
16:49Listen, I'm not going to rule out him getting all the way to Landon Gordon.
16:52He's up the track a little ways, but it is not out of the question.
16:55And you see Beaumere who wants a little piece of Mr. Cole Davies himself at the front, too.
17:00I was getting ready to say that, JT.
17:02The way Chance is, and just finishing my point on him, all season long, we talked about it in the
17:08first moto,
17:08just him having to basically keep within himself.
17:11You know, we've always seen the speed of him winning these races, but then we've seen injuries.
17:15And this year, mentally, it was tough for Chance.
17:18A lot of disappointment, you would say, hype coming into this championship.
17:21But he fought through it.
17:23He finally got that moto victory.
17:24Then last weekend, the way he won that second moto shows you the growth that this guy has.
17:28The way he won this first moto shows you.
17:30And I don't think we've ever seen this from Chance to be able to go down the way he is,
17:35moving his way up.
17:35This is a different dude.
17:37Might be able to get on the podium, as JT said, and change this whole overall picture.
17:40Yeah, again, Hymas last time around as he's making more moves here.
17:44He ran a 2.13.
17:46Beaumere a 2.14.
17:48Davies a 2.18.
17:49So Hymas fastest rider on track.
17:51Beaumere second fastest.
17:53That's probably not a surprise.
17:54Here's a pass by Hymas as Beaumere tries to bear down to the leader.
17:58So lots happening here.
17:59And Chance is running.
18:00He's lap times coming through the pack.
18:02So he looks good.
18:06So does Beaumere.
18:07He now has Davies in sight.
18:08This would be the battle for the overall win.
18:11Yeah, you're going to see Cole probably lay up here.
18:14This is where I go.
18:14We were just talking about championship and depending on the star.
18:18There it is.
18:19It's sinking in.
18:20He's not going to put in a fight here.
18:21Realize the ultimate goal.
18:22He's got it done.
18:23And Juju's on his way up.
18:25So I don't know if he would have been able to hold him off.
18:27Because Juju's riding good.
18:28But Cole Davies, you can see that mentality.
18:31And Chance Hymas is on the same straightaway as these guys.
18:35Wow.
18:37So they've already bumped Gordon off the overall podium.
18:41Right now it's Beaumere, Davies, Hymas, the podium.
18:45Ryder D looks back and he sees a Honda absolutely flying.
18:49Yeah, this is the old school Hymas speed here.
18:52Yeah, it looks easy to me.
18:55And when you look at Chance, the last couple of races have been getting better and better.
18:58But even going back to that second moto, the way he won that, you know, really having to fight and
19:03hold off Levi Kitchen, that moto, you can just see the difference.
19:08That's him going down twice today.
19:10Yeah.
19:10And still coming up and making a pass.
19:12Chance Hymas, Team USA, makes a little mistake right there.
19:16Good stuff and huge threat going into the playoffs and possibly next year as well.
19:21He stays healthy.
19:25All right, he has to overcome that mistake and try to get back to DeFrancisco.
19:29Talk to the crew chief for the team, Shane Drew, over at Honda.
19:32I said, have there been a lot of changes to the bike?
19:35Because obviously second half of the year he's gotten much better.
19:37He said, yeah, some, but not a ton.
19:41Really a lot is on chance.
19:43Now the big bummer for Honda is that, remember, it's a coulda, shoulda, woulda season also for Joe Shimoda,
19:49who was battling for the championship, went out with the broken collarbone of Southwick.
19:52They also feel that Shimoda was just rounding into form at the second half of the year,
19:57and then went out with injury, but he will be back for the playoffs as well.
20:00So that is going to be really hard to predict.
20:04Shimoda, Hymas, Bomair, Kitchen, we presume will be back.
20:07And of course, Davies and more.
20:09DeFrancisco now putting pressure on Gordon.
20:13Yeah, we didn't speak much on Rod or Deed at first moto, but I looked at his opening lap.
20:17He came around in 28th at first moto and still got inside the top ten.
20:21So Roder's had some speed today.
20:23He's showing it here again as he's trying to get around Landon Gordon.
20:26It's funny how he took a look back at Champs, the Latin Corps,
20:29because I'm sure he didn't even recognize that he was even close because he wasn't.
20:33Looks like Roder D is making his way up.
20:36Man, you really see late in these motos.
20:38You can make up a ton of time.
20:40And that's exactly what DeFrancisco has done here.
20:46So that's going to move DeFrancisco up to third in the moto.
20:52Yeah, his last lap was about two seconds quicker.
20:58Set up with the Rockstar Husqvarna man up to third.
21:00Watch for him in the playoffs also.
21:02And there's Hymas.
21:03Yeah, Chance is coming back up right in front of these two.
21:06You've got Cole Davies.
21:09So Juju's not checked out.
21:10He's got non-second lead and he only passed Cole Davies a couple laps ago.
21:13So he's taken off, but Chance might have an opportunity to get second
21:18if he keeps this pushing.
21:22And Hymas is going to be moving to a Honda 450 for the playoffs.
21:26Oh, sorry, not the playoffs, but motocross donations after the playoffs.
21:30Been tough to find the riders for that team.
21:33It's been such a wild season.
21:35You know, Chase Sexton, we didn't get much of him in motocross this year
21:38out with the ACL injury.
21:40Eli Tomac, a rough season in motocross.
21:43Aaron Plessinger, a lot of the guys who had raced for the team before.
21:46Hymas.
21:49Oh, I thought for a second that was DeFrancisco.
21:51That's Ray that's down.
21:53Hymas was named to Team USA back in 2024, but was riding with a torn ACL
21:58and then eventually hurt the knee again and could not race.
22:01It was actually Cooper Webb who jumped on a 250 at the last second to replace him.
22:06That's two years ago in England.
22:08So Hymas gets his chance now.
22:10And Chance will take his chances on a 450 at that race.
22:14Webb will race as well.
22:16And Kitchen.
22:19And now we're seeing it from Davies.
22:21It's catching up to him in multiple ways, the pack and probably the emotions.
22:26Yeah. I mean, at this point, the way Juju was able to make that pass,
22:29I mean, Cole's not going to win overall.
22:31So just riding it on out, enjoying getting ready to blow out some birthday candles.
22:36But in this 250 class, they just keep on coming.
22:38And if Cole can't win overall, he won the main goal of the championship.
22:42I don't really think second, third, it really doesn't matter to him at this point.
22:46And he looks over at DeFrancisco.
22:48Here's the pass.
22:52And Ryder D is by.
22:56So that'll push Davies back one more position.
22:58He might have to deal with Hymas here soon.
23:02And he's got a little points buffer.
23:04I don't know.
23:05Overall podium could be in jeopardy.
23:06I'm not sure if Davies cares.
23:10Yeah, not.
23:11He has to deal with him soon.
23:12Chance is there.
23:12Yep.
23:14He knew it was coming because he was following DeFrancisco through.
23:17Lap rider.
23:18And there's a move on the inside.
23:20Oh, Heimataurus got him already.
23:22Like peek-a-boo on this side here.
23:24He tapped him on one shoulder.
23:26Yeah.
23:26And they go by the other one.
23:27Yeah.
23:28He's in the split lane.
23:30He's going to get passed anyway.
23:32Oh, Chance right up against, as I like to call, the crown molding there on the side of the track.
23:37And then doubles to get by Davies.
23:41Yeah, Chance took a chance right there, but he knows Ryder D.
23:45Shout out to him.
23:45He's picked up the pace ever since Chance got up to him.
23:49And Gordon's back in the picture.
23:51Davies on a cruise now.
23:52Yeah, it's the woods section.
23:53He's on a trail ride back there.
23:55Yeah, but if he ends up being passed by his teammate, that would put Ryder D on the podium.
24:00Wow.
24:02Hey, that's bonus money.
24:03I'm going to say that's 10 grand or so.
24:05Ryder D will take it.
24:09So, Bomair is looking at the overall win.
24:11His second of the year and seconded points.
24:17Heimat.
24:18I don't think there's going to be enough for him to get by Kitchen in the standings as well.
24:23He might be able to get into a tie with him, but Kitchen would still have a tiebreaker.
24:27Emoto wins.
24:28I don't think any of that math is running through Hymas' mind right now.
24:31The bottom line is he's just riding well.
24:33He is absolutely riding well.
24:35And I know when we, you know, a lot of people scoffed at what I said about Team USA and
24:40just the riders that they picked.
24:42I would have picked these three anyway.
24:43Hopefully, Levi's comfortable.
24:45But when you look at Chance, I just look at the opportunity he's got to be able to be named
24:50Team USA and the belief and confidence that he got from that.
24:55This is a very strong team.
24:56And we know when Cooper Webb's motivated, he wants to show proof he was able to get a podium today.
25:01I don't think it's coincidental that both of our guys out there are having probably the best days of their
25:08season after they just got named Team USA.
25:11There's a lot of pride on the line and it looks good for these two.
25:16Chance, I miss and hopefully again, Levi Kitchens.
25:19All right, Cooper Webb.
25:24I'm going to lock in.
25:25See Dean go to DeFrancisco.
25:27Five minutes and two laps to go.
25:29Haley.
25:30And the pit board right now for Ryder DeFrancisco.
25:32It says fight forward.
25:34He's brought a whole lot of fights so far in this moto.
25:36We'll see what he can do.
25:37Just looks at close.
25:38Just over a 10 second gap.
25:39Yeah, but you also saw Haley that five laps to go side that you were talking about earlier.
25:43Hymas' mechanic always puts it on the board.
25:46And he said that's when I know it's five to go and then three more than that.
25:49Have two to go.
25:50He's going to go all out.
25:52I can tell you if you're the difference between where Ryder D is and Chance Hymas.
25:58When you see a five lap to go, it could change dramatically, JT.
26:03Yeah, James, you see some of the lines that Chance is using here.
26:05He's doing such a great job of crossing back over all of the main lines, right?
26:09He's getting out of the deep ruts.
26:11You see him there inside the rut.
26:12It allows him to accelerate much harder as he tries to finally square up and make a move as he
26:17does right there.
26:17Yeah, and by doing that, what it does also, even if you can't make the pass,
26:21it makes the guy that you're doing that to very nervous.
26:25And a mistake might come.
26:26Chance makes that pass.
26:27And as I said earlier, Cole Davies, they keep coming here.
26:32Now he gets passed by his teammate.
26:34He's got Drew Adams behind him.
26:37Actually, Nate Thrasher has already got around both of them.
26:40So, Cole Davies, everybody wants to get to his birthday party.
26:44Wish him well.
26:46Maybe they're yelling happy birthday as they go by.
26:48It was Zach Osborne who coined the phrase the emotional drain bolt.
26:52We take the bolt out of the bottom of the engine and the oil just comes out.
26:54I think the emotional drain bolt has come out here for Davies.
26:58And he's just riding.
27:00And there goes Gordon.
27:03There goes Adams.
27:06But Gordon, by losing a couple other spots, Di Francesco got by him.
27:10Thrasher and Jaimes, he's only four up on Romano.
27:14Romano's probably watching right now saying, hey, you know, Drew Adams.
27:16Maybe get by him.
27:17A couple other guys.
27:18Give me the easy ticket into the Modos in the playoffs.
27:22Yeah, you probably have, what, five laps left, four or five laps.
27:26So Landon's got to keep going.
27:29Then he's got a string of Yamahas after Drew Adams.
27:32If Drew Adams is able to make the pass, you see Pierce Brown behind him.
27:36Meneers behind him.
27:37Malinowski and Swartz.
27:38And then his teammate Moseman.
27:40So a little gap with those guys.
27:43But still a good day by Landon Gordon.
27:45Showed a lot.
27:46Drew Adams looks like he's got that inside.
27:50He's fighting by the kid.
27:53Scrubbing together.
27:55Yeah, Gordon is trying.
27:57And still able to hold him at bay for the moment.
28:03Gotta love the fight.
28:05Hereby landing Gordon.
28:10Oh, hang on.
28:12Yeah, Ryder almost goes down in front of them.
28:14Here it is, two minutes to go.
28:16Balmer's got this.
28:17The gap is 11 seconds on Jaimes.
28:20Looking at his second career overall win.
28:22Second of the season.
28:28Oh, we got tear offs.
28:31Stuck on the left handlebar of Gordon.
28:34You don't need to save those.
28:35Let him go.
28:36It's fine.
28:36Yeah, they probably caught on his finger.
28:38You know, and he's like, man, you see all these breaths?
28:39I can't let go.
28:41Look at Gordon.
28:43He's coming from all the way right to left, crossing it up.
28:47There's a rotter down right there in the middle of the racetrack.
28:49Luckily, those guys can miss them.
28:54Now, look, there's plenty of people that would race to GNCC back there.
28:56They'd be like, I'm not throwing these tear offs away.
28:58I paid for them.
28:59Gordon, no need to worry about that.
29:01I spent a lot of time.
29:02My dad wouldn't let me pull tear offs at the house.
29:04So if I wanted to practice well, I had to put them in my pocket, which I didn't have.
29:08So I'm just putting them in my finger.
29:09So that's how you knew about this.
29:11As I know about that, it sounds more annoying than anything.
29:14But at this moment, this track is difficult enough to take your hand off.
29:20Yeah, you've got to find a jump for it.
29:22Yeah, what makes that hard?
29:24They're stuck.
29:24So no matter what he does?
29:25Yeah, you would have to really throw their hand out and kind of pull them off.
29:31Pierce Brown now going around Davies.
29:33Happy birthday.
29:36Happy birthday, son.
29:37I told him to enjoy it.
29:38It looks like he really is.
29:39Yeah.
29:39You know, really what this is, we talked about.
29:41It's just the emotions of these guys and shows you how much it means.
29:46So they do everything to accomplish one goal.
29:49And when you get it, it's just an emotional drain hole.
29:53I like that.
29:54I talked to him earlier.
29:56Yeah.
29:56But good stuff.
29:58Cole, he did his job today.
30:00Oh, no doubt.
30:00Yeah.
30:01So you can finish whatever you want to finish.
30:04Yeah.
30:05Zach actually was supposed to race today.
30:06Heard his hip.
30:07Said he had a little bit of a nagging one since his Loretta Lins race, Osborne.
30:12And then tweaked it again this weekend.
30:14So Zach chose not to line up at what would have been the end of his quick return to pro
30:19racing.
30:20Wasn't a full-time return.
30:22That would have been in the 450 class.
30:24And that's what he said.
30:24As for Davies.
30:26The Zealand native.
30:27The vision they must have had a few years ago to have come this far this quick.
30:31And then the similar story in a way for Beaumair.
30:35There is no way six months ago, a few months before this championship.
30:40I don't even know if he would have thought two overall wins, second in points.
30:46There was a long time where people weren't sure if he'd ever ride again after breaking his back.
30:50Yeah.
30:50And, you know, going, I think the injury would probably make him anybody question that.
30:56But I guarantee you, back to Juju's mind, he couldn't wait.
30:59Because he said earlier this year he wanted to prove a lot.
31:02I bet he knew what he had.
31:04And he's showing it.
31:05Very proud of him.
31:06But all this does is make it for the next three races after this, going into playoffs.
31:12Awesome.
31:12You know, hopefully Levi Kitchen's back.
31:14He's going to be motivated, of course.
31:15Cole Davies, we know what he's done.
31:17Maybe a three-peak plus to win all three of them.
31:20Juju's going to feel like he can.
31:21Chance Hyman.
31:22So a lot of these guys.
31:23Ryder D.
31:24All this race does is make those guys feel like they really have an opportunity to win this whole championship.
31:31It's going to be great, man.
31:32It's going to be great.
31:34And what can you say for this star racing team, which has been the dominant force in this class since
31:382014.
31:39Started with Jeremy Martin and Cooper Webb.
31:42And then it just kept on rolling.
31:44Aaron Plessinger, of course.
31:47Hayden Deegan.
31:48A bunch of titles.
31:50But it looked like it might have been a gap year for them.
31:53Because they had so many young riders.
31:55And then Deegan graduating out of the class.
31:57Very little experience on this squad.
31:59Davies overcame that.
32:00Won the title anyway.
32:02Muneer is by.
32:03Malinowski now as well is in the picture.
32:06That's the 431.
32:10Colt playing a little block for his teammate right here.
32:13Good job.
32:15Always helping these guys out, man.
32:16Yeah, it's helping them out.
32:17But, you know, to be honest with you, you know, we're in a Colt position.
32:20I know he's dropping back.
32:21Normally this would be a bad thing.
32:23But I bet he's actually having fun.
32:25Because nobody's going to be mad at him.
32:26What's going on.
32:27Yeah.
32:28Tried his best.
32:28Once he knew that overall wasn't there.
32:31Probably just, it's rare to be able to come out here and just be able to ride around.
32:34And everybody's going to be just as happy as you went out there and won.
32:37Because of what you accomplished this season.
32:39Probably pretty fun for him out there.
32:41What I love about this is it shows how locked in you guys need to be to make it happen.
32:45It's the same bike.
32:46Same level of fitness.
32:48Same track.
32:49Only one thing is the difference seat first.
32:52And in this case, basically 10th for Davies.
32:54Just how locked in you need to be.
32:56No, absolutely.
32:57And you heard me talk about it throughout the season.
32:59The difference between, you know, winning top five and 10th, 15th isn't much.
33:04And you're seeing that.
33:05You know, Cole Davies checks off just a little bit.
33:08Yep.
33:08And now he's battling to hang on to top 10 and probably go farther back if there was longer.
33:13So it really does come down to just the mental side of things.
33:17Because every one of these riders is good.
33:20If you're not fully engaged, you're outside the top 10 all day long.
33:24Well done by Malinowski.
33:26Getting a lot of experience here in the long moto.
33:29Had a good start.
33:30And has been able to hang in his fourth professional moto.
33:34It's a rough one at Bugs Creek with some of the mud last week.
33:38And he's looking at a 10th here around Davies.
33:41Actually, that'd be ninth.
33:43Who's next on the list?
33:44Dylan Schwartz.
33:46And then we got another teammate of Cole Davies coming as well.
33:50I was about to say, Cole, we ain't done with you.
33:52A couple more guys want to try to give you a happy birthday present.
33:55JT.
33:56I just was thinking about, you know, both of these guys are SMX Next graduates.
34:01And then I started looking more at the top 10.
34:03There are six riders inside the top 10 in this moto which have been in SMX Next in the last
34:08two years.
34:09That is incredible to see how much that program has developed and turned into the stars of this two different
34:16class class.
34:17Yeah, and it's that program that really put Davies on the map.
34:22Both in Supercross battling Drew Adams a lot in that one.
34:27A little bit with Hymas toward the end.
34:29And then here at this track just a few years ago, again there were doubts.
34:34Was he only a Supercross kid?
34:36Won the overall at the SMX Next Combine at this event.
34:40Minear won the first moto.
34:41That's what really made people think, okay, they got something going here.
34:45Just didn't get to see it from Davies last year because he missed most of the motocross races.
34:51Yeah, and even go back to that next program.
34:54When I saw him a couple years ago, you know, he's on KTM number 29.
34:58It looked like Ivan Tedesco out there.
35:00He was a different rider.
35:01He was crashing quite a bit.
35:03Yes.
35:03You know, there's a lot of things.
35:04And so for him to make that change, ever since he's gotten on the star race in Yamaha, as we
35:07see.
35:08Schwartz.
35:08Schwartz down here.
35:10He's really made the improvement.
35:12And that's when I go back to when people doubted, could this guy do it?
35:16All those changes that you've seen in improvement over the last couple years, you knew he had the talent to
35:21do it.
35:21And he had the mindset.
35:22So it was only a matter of time before we see something like this.
35:26And starting to climb up to one of the all times here in this 250 class at such a young
35:31age.
35:32And essentially his first full season of motocross.
35:34There it is.
35:35A big wheelie here on the last lap celebrating the title.
35:38And, you know, it's probably not too early to start thinking about what the real future is for Cole Davies.
35:44The rumor in the pits is that Yamaha already made sure to lock him up.
35:47If he wins a Supercross title next year, he will have to go to the 450s in Supercross for 2028.
35:53I think they've already got those details handled.
35:56They're not going to let him go.
35:58And as quickly as we talked about, man, what's going to happen when Hayden Deegan moves up?
36:02It might not be long to risk saying the same things about Cole Davies.
36:05No, absolutely not.
36:06And you're Bobby.
36:07You're not really taking much of a chance because you know you've got about five little baby juniors out there
36:12that's ready to step up.
36:14But it kind of answers that question of what I was saying.
36:15I bet Cole's having a good time out there.
36:17So if he was really struggling, you wouldn't see that really.
36:20Yeah.
36:20He's going to let Dylan back past him again.
36:25Congrats to him.
36:26But I want to forget about the guy who's out front, Julian Beaumere.
36:31Solid, solid moto.
36:34Take him home, Jay.
36:35Incredible what this guy has done.
36:37Wasn't sure if he'd race again.
36:39Wasn't sure if he did.
36:40It was going to be minimum 12 months back.
36:43That would be next month.
36:44But instead he's back with two race wins.
36:47Second of the points.
36:48Julian Beaumere wins the Ironman National.
