00:03A rider que tem 1.25 European Championship experience this year,
00:07como so many of the riders lining up here this weekend.
00:1525 minutos, plus 2 laps.
00:18The Blue Crew 1.25 Super Finale kicks off here in Erne.
00:21Rider can't control the power of his machine there.
00:23That was Townley wheeling down the start straight on the 5.43 with a black helmet.
00:27He will emerge in a roundabout sort of 6th or 7th position.
00:31But leading the way as we come through the turn.
00:35Oh, and he just messes up there.
00:36There's a 2.62 of Blake Buchanan.
00:38So it was Buchanan with the hole shot.
00:42He'll try and get himself back in the game here.
00:45It's a little bit kind of strange conditions here because you can see,
00:48okay, it's brighter than that on track, but they are in that shadow.
00:51The sun is about to pop up over the hill to their left.
00:53And when it does, they'll be climbing those hillsides.
00:58Into pitch, sort of bright sunlight, but it's Townley who leads the way.
01:06But not for much longer because Cazay flies by on the 2.27.
01:12At the top of the hill.
01:25Working our way through these twists and turns.
01:28Bottom end of the circuit.
01:31Cazay leading the way.
01:32Townley there in second place.
01:36Buchanan there on the 2.62.
01:38Pushing on.
01:39He's got himself up into third, maybe.
01:45Just chasing down Santorzano there.
01:48Another rider in the 1.25 European Championship.
01:51There's a 3.85 as well of Jorge Salvador.
01:54Didn't get his lightning fast hole shot that he's so accustomed to getting.
01:58But he's still right there in the mix.
02:03But Arnaud Cazay, who was 18th in the European Championship this year.
02:09Getting off to a flying start here as he leads at the bottom of the hill.
02:13Townley second.
02:14Luis Santorzano is next.
02:20And then we've got Blake Bohannon on the 2.62 there with the neck brace on.
02:24You can see the yellow struts just resting on the shoulders.
02:27There he is, the little diddy man.
02:31And then Salvador.
02:32Then the 44 of Janssen.
02:35Janssen, who was fourth in time practice.
02:38Jano Janssen.
02:40Another rider.
02:41No stranger to racing this event, of course.
02:50There he is, 44, double, double.
02:54But it's the 3.85 there of Jorge Salvador.
03:01Just holding that inside line.
03:03Top of the hill.
03:04Track still pretty ruddy from yesterday.
03:06In one of two areas.
03:09Of course, we've had the B-final morning warm-up as well.
03:12Ahead of this race.
03:15So that's why some of the track is just a little bit sticky and tricky in places.
03:21Townley just dropping downhill.
03:22Just below us there with the black helmet.
03:24He's there in that second position.
03:25Arnaud Cazet is running away with this at the moment.
03:28There's a 3.91.
03:29Of Luis Santorzano.
03:30He's now in third position.
03:31Going after Townley here.
03:32Who's just on screen now.
03:36The Jagman.
03:38Highest end of the circuit.
03:39That burst of sunshine coming in from the left-hand side as they hit that crest.
03:47Santorzano there with the yellow helmet.
03:48Then a slight gap back to Blake Bohannon.
03:51The Australian.
03:53Where's the number four Johnson?
03:54He's in 15th place at the moment.
03:59So the American not having a great run of it here right now.
04:02Medallia the Canadian.
04:03He's in eighth position.
04:05He was fourth in that match in 2024 in the 85 category.
04:10And that's the beauty about this YZ Blue Crew Super Finale competition.
04:15You get the guys in and the girls in early of course.
04:18Because there are young females riding in these categories.
04:2165, 85, 125.
04:23You get them in early.
04:25You get them into the brand.
04:26And the biggest event on the calendar is right here at the Motocross Nations.
04:30And of course you can be a part of that by scoring points in your own championship at home.
04:37You get invited here.
04:3837, 125 riders from all over the world taking part here this weekend in Erne.
04:43And of course it's not just about the brand awareness.
04:47Of course it's a massive advert for Yamaha.
04:49All of its exposure.
04:51Putting their motorcycles on display.
04:53But it's all the other stuff as well.
04:56The merchandise, the technical stuff, the spares, the you name it.
05:00It goes a long way.
05:01So it's a very, very smart marketer tool this from Yamaha when you think about it.
05:08And some of these riders have been in here a couple of years in the 65, a couple of years
05:12in the 85.
05:12Now advancing into the 125.
05:14They just have that, the blue blood running through their veins.
05:19And it's plain to see here this weekend as well.
05:25Back marker there on the 33.
05:27Give them a name check.
05:28William Arendvi of Sweden.
05:37Townley.
05:39Flying by.
05:40He's there in that second position.
05:41Just out of shot now.
05:42He's got about a two-second advantage over Louis Santazenio.
05:47Bohannon about one and a half seconds further back.
05:49Or he was a moment ago unless that gap is coming down.
05:56A couple of Brits in the race as well.
05:58Lucas Moncrief.
05:58He's in ninth position at the moment.
06:01Just ahead of Alfie Geddes Green in 10th.
06:04Harley Marzak in 12th place.
06:05Head of Archie Stapley.
06:12Two laps complete.
06:13Santazenio with the fastest lap of the race that time around.
06:15Only by a couple of tenths or so.
06:18But the French fans urging on Ardo Cazet, the home rider,
06:23who was fastest in the time practice yesterday morning
06:26when they had their three into time.
06:28This is Levi Townley.
06:29Sorry, Jackie Townley.
06:30He's there in that second position.
06:33He's about three and a half seconds behind the Frenchman.
06:35Ardo Cazet.
06:39Cazet, who had a couple of 12th place finishes
06:41in the 125 European Championship this year.
06:46Looking to add a Blue Crew gold medal
06:51this weekend if you can.
06:53Santazenio as well.
06:54Didn't score at the majority of the races that he rode,
06:56but he did get his 16th overall in Sweden.
06:58We've got Wave Jellos there.
07:03Ryder down in the dip.
07:08And the riders launch in that downhill.
07:17So the seven.
07:23Might have been the 785 down there.
07:24Martinez, Yasunis of Lithuania.
07:28Fell there in that turn.
07:33Anyway, here's Santazenio.
07:36Again, launching up.
07:37Jack and Stanley just ahead of him.
07:38There's Blake Bohannon just behind.
07:40And we've got Jano Janssen now about six seconds further back.
07:43Storm Maiman in sixth.
07:53Ryder just pushing a bike to the side there.
07:56So it looks like he's up and running.
08:02A little bit of jumping on Wave Jellos.
08:06Which obviously we can't do on this side of the world, but.
08:13Three laps complete.
08:14Kazay, three seconds clear of Townley now.
08:16There is Townley.
08:17Here is Santazenio in the yellow helmet.
08:19Then Bohannon.
08:21The diminutive Australian.
08:26Had a couple of conversations with them over the last couple of weeks.
08:29Of course, they were in Australia.
08:31Him and the family there for the MXGP of Australia there in Darwin.
08:37The MXGP presented by Sixler, of course.
08:41He rode his 85 in competition.
08:44Probably for the last time actually that weekend.
08:46All went according to plan.
08:47The 85cc junior world champion this year.
08:54So I imagine this is his first competitive race on a 125 for the Australian.
09:03Since we only got back from Australia and had the one weekend off.
09:06Not sure when he arrived here, but was talking to him and his dad again on the entrance of the
09:11circuit.
09:12On Friday.
09:19Good to see the rider up after receiving medical attention there, but.
09:28Jabbing the berm there.
09:29Santazenio.
09:30Bohannon going after him.
09:31Looking for a wide, sweet cutback.
09:33Up through that sweeping turn 11 onto the plateau.
09:39Only about six seconds separating the first four riders.
09:42Which is nothing.
09:48Santazenio.
09:49Poor line choice there.
09:51Gets parked behind the back marker.
09:53And then Bohannon takes full advantage.
09:55Gets alongside him.
09:57He's not going to find his way through there, though.
09:58Because Santazenio tries to go too defensive.
10:01And it may cost him time on the uphill here.
10:03He looks across.
10:04He tries to get across.
10:05I tell you what.
10:06Mirror signal maneuver.
10:06He couldn't have been any more ruthless there.
10:09And it's cost him even more time.
10:10Smart riding that from the Aussie.
10:15Santazenio.
10:16Paying for the mistake that he made at the top of the hill when he got parked behind a lapper.
10:20He now finds himself in that fourth place.
10:24As Bohannon looking for another medal here in this competition.
10:30Won the GP Natalie Basin edition two years ago.
10:36Third in the USA last year at the world finale.
10:41Comes in with some credentials here this weekend as the junior world champion in 85.
10:46That was in Yenin in the Czech Republic.
10:49Watch this here.
10:50Santazenio.
10:51He gets caught behind.
10:52The back marker looks left.
10:53Santazenio goes right.
10:54The back marker tried to squeeze Bohannon.
10:57And then watch this here.
10:58He couldn't make any more of a drastic turn across the track there.
11:01And then he goes tight against Santazenio.
11:04Thinks he's got the job done.
11:06Bohannon's sweet around the outside.
11:08Moves into that third position.
11:11And already pulling clear.
11:13So now we've got a Frenchman leading the Kiwi leading an Aussie.
11:17Bragging rights between the two Southern Hemisphere.
11:21Nations then.
11:22New Zealand and Australia.
11:23Townley and Bohannon.
11:27Townley around the corner.
11:28Here's your race leader though.
11:30Arno Cazay.
11:38Continues to lead the way.
11:40Still got 13 and a half minutes plus two laps to run in this 25 minute plus two lap race.
11:48That's also the length of the 125 European Championship races presented by FMF Racing.
11:55Here in Europe.
11:572.27.
12:00Putting up a good fight here at the moment.
12:08As he charges downhill.
12:09Completes another lap.
12:19Loving the fact that he's performing in front of this massive crowd.
12:26Arno Cazay.
12:29Got a couple of 10th place finishes during the season.
12:33One of those in Fox Hills.
12:36In race one.
12:45And looking to add a win here in his YZ Blue Crew FIM Europe Cup Super Finale here at home
12:53in Ernaet.
12:59In terms of 125 winners.
13:01The only riders from France who have won in this competition.
13:05Calvin Fonvier.
13:06He was the first winner.
13:07That was at the Veltins Arena in Germany.
13:09Remember?
13:10Part of that SMX Cup that we had.
13:12That was in 2016.
13:15Adrian Petit.
13:16He was the fifth winner of this competition in the 125 division.
13:20He was victorious in 2021.
13:21That was at Mantua.
13:23And the motocross nations there in Italy.
13:29The other winners.
13:30Arvid Lerning of Sweden.
13:32Was victorious in 2017 at Mattelie.
13:34Kevin Brumman of Switzerland in 2018 at Imola.
13:38Maurice Pompas of Latvian in 2019 at Assen.
13:42The motocross nations.
13:43And then Petit.
13:43We already mentioned Nicolas Salvini.
13:46At Saint-Jean d'Angeli.
13:48That was the last European round.
13:50Because of course in 2022 we went to Redwood for the motocross nations.
13:57So Salvini was victorious there in France.
14:00Simone Mancini another Italian here in 2023.
14:05Jamie Keith.
14:06The first of two Brits because Drew Stock.
14:09Mattelie Basin and Udavala.
14:11They were 24 and 25.
14:17Get his green as a loss of 10 positions penalty.
14:20Just come up on our timing screen.
14:22Right at the 111.
14:24For not respecting waved yellow flag.
14:30Right.
14:31San Cezanio has moved back to third.
14:33Salvador up to fourth.
14:34Bohannon down to fifth.
14:45There's Townley now 4.2 seconds clear of Louis San Cezanio.
14:59Well here's Townley.
15:013.3 seconds behind the Frenchman.
15:05Does he have a bit of pace left in him towards the end of this race here?
15:08Of course he's been riding 85s in Europe this year.
15:11Is the Jagman.
15:22Where is the race leader, Cezanio?
15:24There he is hugging the bank with the red boots.
15:30Medallia still there in eighth place.
15:32Moncrief nine.
15:32Marzak in tenth.
15:39Number three just looking across there.
15:44Ah, he just stalled in one of the corners.
15:46Top end of the circuit.
15:48Bohannon.
15:52That's before he dropped downhill underneath the GoPro banner.
16:00And all of a sudden now he's 31 seconds off the lead.
16:04He was probably only about five or six seconds off the lead.
16:09Cezanio on the 227.
16:10You race leader.
16:10Into the left-hander.
16:12Now he's got two back markers ahead of him.
16:14They're fighting their own battles here.
16:17You get such a mix of levels of riders here in this YZ Blue Crew Cup.
16:21Of course, you can be a national champion on the Yamaha or you can be 15th place rider.
16:29Still get the invite to come here as long as you're riding the Yamaha in your national championship.
16:35Of course, the top three go to a masterclass in the end of October, beginning of November with Blue Crew
16:40Ambassadors, which are plentiful here at this event, of course.
16:46For Brian Jorgensen, former Grand Prix racer and Grand Prix winner, former European champion.
16:54Nancy van der Ven, the Blue Crew Ambassador for the young girls that are riding in this competition, of course.
17:06Didn't like the fact that he was getting held up here by the back markers.
17:08Well, the two choices in that corner.
17:11Arnaud, you can go inside or outside.
17:12Follow or not follow.
17:17Chose to follow.
17:27Anyway, he's opened up his gap now by another second or so.
17:30He's 4.9 clear of Jagatownley with just under eight minutes plus two laps to go.
17:35Stepping up onto the plateau once more.
17:38Into those ruts, onto the Monster Energy tabletop.
17:40Highest end of the circuit as the sun starts to beam down below and all the fans on that opposite
17:47banking as he turns left any moment now to drop downhill for the eighth time.
17:53They will gradually be bathed in glorious sunshine.
18:01There's the 1.11 of Gettis Green.
18:03And the five behind him is Medallia.
18:07So, Talon Medallia.
18:12Dad, of course, Talon Medallia.
18:14No stranger to representing Canada at the Nations in the past.
18:20Here will be the ISDE six days in a week.
18:23It's time.
18:25That'll take place in Portugal.
18:28Close to Lisbon.
18:401.11 of Gettis Green dealing with the back marker there.
18:44And he has a loss of 10-place penalty for not respecting waved yellows.
18:52Johnson putting his best lap in that time around, 2.03.4.
18:55So, one of the quicker riders on track, just not making a good start.
19:00I just wonder if he's ridden a place like this.
19:02Yes, he rode at Ironman last year, which has flowing hills and all that kind of thing.
19:06But here is obviously a little bit tighter, the hill's a little bit steeper, the ground a little bit deeper
19:12and ruttier.
19:12And, of course, you've got that hard base underneath.
19:14There is Medallia, the number five from Canada.
19:18Just missed out on the podium a couple of years ago at Mattelie.
19:25Remember having a conversation with his old man about it.
19:28Seeing him launch the big jumps at the British venue.
19:33As a rider, you don't even think about it, but as a parent, they kind of, every time they sort
19:38of watch them get airborne.
19:45Kind of just put some on edge, just a little bit.
19:47Anyway, great ride this at the moment for Talon.
19:50Medallia here on the number five.
20:02Continues to chase Gettys Green.
20:04These two in seventh and eighth now.
20:06And, of course, the 1-11 with a penalty.
20:11There's the 5.31 of Montcrieff.
20:14So Lucas Montcrieff there in ninth place.
20:16See what I mean now?
20:18With the little pockets of light as it just starts, as the sun just starts to emerge.
20:22Over the hill there.
20:25You're going along into it in the shadow.
20:27Then you turn right and then blinded ever so slightly.
20:30Before you sort of go full circle through that turn.
20:34Get onto the plateau again.
20:4143, Hampus Olofsson of Sweden.
20:44Just outside of the points.
20:48It's the 5.31 of Montcrieff.
20:51Going after Medallia.
20:53Medallia on the number five.
20:54Like he just got held up by a lapper there a moment ago.
20:57Still four minutes left on the clock.
21:01Plus two laps.
21:03Arno Cazze still holds a five-second advantage over Jagger Townley.
21:08Townley was about three-tenths quicker last time around.
21:10About a tenth quicker in their first sector, which is not a lot.
21:15Sector 1 from the finish line just to the entry of Turn 4, which is out of this left, into
21:21the next right.
21:23Around about now.
21:31And then Sector 2, which is what they're in now, ends just on the base of the Liqui Moly Jump.
21:39After that long uphill sweeper in the middle of the circuit, Turn 8.
21:43And then Sector 3 on the second of the jumps.
21:46On the plateau.
21:48Across the very, very top of the circuit.
21:50And then Sector 4, the finish line, of course.
21:56So Sector 2 this time around for Cazze, he went through at a 36-2.
22:02Townley was a 37-3, so he lost more than a second there.
22:04So expect that gap to go out by another second at least.
22:08Then the 32-5, 33-1.
22:09So Townley losing time in both Sector 2 and 3 to the race leader, Arno Cazze.
22:18There is Moncrief.
22:20Then the 18 of Alex Novak of Slovenia.
22:35So that intermediate sector there on that second jump.
22:39So we're in the final sector now.
22:42Our race leader is already over the line, and Cazze now 6.8 seconds.
22:46So he's getting 1.8 over the course of the lap.
22:49Over Jagger Townley.
22:50San D'Azadio another 10.7 seconds further back.
22:5217.5 off the lead.
22:57Lucas Moncrief.
22:59Still pushing on hard here on the 5.31.
23:03British rider.
23:04He is in ninth place.
23:06Got Talon Medaglia just ahead of him.
23:18Toron Medaglia just struggling out of that turn.
23:24Alvin Glenson of Sweden.
23:30Kai Zylstra down in 16th position on the 5.02.
23:35Got fourth in Matalin, 24 in the 85 division.
23:40And ninth last year in Sweden in Udavala.
23:45Stepping up now this time around in the 125 division.
23:54But your race leader, Arnaud Cazze, 2.27.
23:58The Frenchman.
23:59It's just over a minute.
24:02Plus two laps from taking the chequered flag here.
24:05He got to the front early.
24:07It was Blake Pohanan who grabbed the whole shot.
24:10Then he was quickly passed by Jagger Townley.
24:13Cazze quickly went by both of them.
24:18Bohanan then got himself up to third as he was chasing down Jagger Townley.
24:22Just under a minute left on the clock.
24:24Look, so it's going to be three laps from now.
24:27And then Bohanan stalling at the top of the hill.
24:31Into the right-hander before the right-left dropping down through the main infield.
24:39But no one's really challenged Arnaud Cazze.
24:43The 2.27 on the Yamaha.
24:47What a day to do it.
24:49Stands the hillside already packed to his left-hand side here.
24:52As you can see, there's only going to be a few more crammed in there a little later on.
24:57If you're going to get your first win, you may as well make it a big one.
25:01You may as well do it on the world stage.
25:03It doesn't get any bigger than this at Ernaud.
25:06If you're French.
25:08Like Arnaud Cazze.
25:16Dealt with the pressure of riding at home absolutely perfectly.
25:22With more than seven seconds in his back pocket over Jagger Townley.
25:27This is now his race to lose.
25:30Can afford the luxury of picking his lines diligently.
25:34Doesn't have to rush anything.
25:36Take a little bit of time behind the back marker if he needs to.
25:39It's always embarrassing, but he's not as far as that.
25:42Six seconds.
25:48Single double.
25:53Onto the plateau here.
25:56It's at three very good sectors once again.
26:02Ah!
26:03Back marker falls in front of him though.
26:07Lucky that he wasn't closer.
26:09Could have got caught up in that.
26:13Just as he peels in.
26:15Look, back marker catches that tough block.
26:17That was down.
26:18Slams between the shoulder blades.
26:19Couldn't get out of the motorcycle there.
26:21It was very reminiscent of the Lucas Coenen crash in the Netherlands at Arnhem in time practice
26:26when he went over and couldn't get away from the bike.
26:32But just looking at the splits, 25-4-2, Townley was a 25-4-8.
26:37But again, sector two, 35-3, 36-4 for first and second.
26:42Pretty much evenly matched in sector three.
26:45But again, quicker by about a second in the final sector.
26:49So gap now out to nine and a half seconds between Kazé and Townley.
26:54That's Kazé.
26:57Already into his penultimate lap.
26:59Already thinking about his podium celebration.
27:03Already thinking about his post-race speech.
27:09Where he can thank the fans, the public, the team.
27:20Tricky little downhill rut.
27:21You're up on the pegs.
27:23You're gathering speed.
27:24You're trying to continue turning left.
27:29Easy just to gain a little bit too much momentum and cross rut and go out to the right
27:34that she's supposed to be turning left.
27:36Seen that on many occasions.
27:37But Kazé mastering it perfectly.
27:40Bohannon has dropped another three positions down to nine.
27:44As Giddes Green moves up to six.
27:45Medallia seven.
27:46Novak eight.
27:48Bohannon down to nine.
27:49But of course, just looking at the time of screen, that's still a penalty there.
27:52Pending for Giddes Green in sixth position.
27:54A loss of ten places.
27:58So young Blakey.
27:59Blake Bohannon.
28:01One or two little areas in the second half of the race.
28:06Costing him a potential podium on his 1.25 debut.
28:10Again, same part of the racetrack.
28:12Ryder out of the side door just as the leader comes through.
28:17He's at the 25 of Kanishi.
28:27Dazzling autumnal sun blinding the riders as they crest the summit.
28:33Into the final lap for Arnaud Kazé.
28:37He is about two minutes away from taking what would be a massive victory for him in front of the
28:42massive home crowd here at Ernaud.
28:47There's nothing better than when you round out that final turn at the top of the hill and jump down
28:53into that wall of fans and spectators.
28:58Especially if you're a race winner and Arnaud Kazé is moments away from taking the chequered flag here at Ernaud.
29:1012 seconds clear as he goes into the final lap.
29:17The tricolure flying all around this racetrack.
29:23Through the tricky left.
29:27Been utilizing this outside here.
29:29It's a little bit cleaner.
29:31Smoother.
29:33Over the Liqui Moly double.
29:40Off-camber through here.
29:42And then dropping steeply away around about now as you drop into this turn.
29:47Steeper than it looks on TV actually.
29:53But Arnaud Kazé has been absolutely majestic here.
29:56In this YZ.
29:59Blue Crew FIM Europe Cup Super Finale race.
30:04He could have come in.
30:05Feeling the pressure.
30:06Especially after setting the fastest time in time practice.
30:09By four tenths over Storm Maiman.
30:13Maiman went out on lap two.
30:16The former 85 winner here.
30:19Two years ago.
30:20Three years ago.
30:25And instead.
30:27It's Arnaud Kazé.
30:28Who will round out the final turn at the top of the hill.
30:32The fans will greet him.
30:34As he heads down.
30:36Hill takes the checkered flag.
30:37And wins the 125 race here at Ernaud.
30:42A massive win for the 227.
