00:0019 he had in mx2 so uh he's whittling that one down as well he's not a man of numbers
00:04at all but
00:05he'll be keeping an eye on that the fly racing 15 second board up for the final time this weekend
00:09here in afion turquia haven't seen him run the number one plate that'll be quite a novelty in
00:17itself for jeffrey hurlings as he lines up gold helmet gold plate will he go one one here will
00:22there be another winner here and it's tom vial who sweeps across can he hold it nice and tight this
00:28time around or will it be once again jeffrey hurlings with another foxhole shot the champion
00:33starting as he means to finish here this weekend
00:38geyser alongside in blue as a super scrub there from tom vial doing his best to stay ahead of the
00:44slovenian guys are there in third in that great looking colorway that he has this weekend from
00:50alpine star by the way but it's the two fox riders ahead of him in the form of hurlings and
00:55vial
00:57fourth is jonas he's the lead kawasaki rider coming through here then we've got the 80 of
01:03adamo there in fifth then we've got sir and feather in there pretty much some side by side as they
01:07hit
01:07that monster and he to jump in the background as jonas applying the pressure to geyser on this opening lap
01:12as they fight for third place
01:16and vial i went spoke to him he just said he uh needed to adjust the front end a little
01:20bit it was
01:20uh the conditions were changing quite a lot and they were quite dry and it just unnerved him a
01:25little bit and he had the pressure from roman fevra and he made one little twitch one little mistake
01:29too many and uh in the end it was just uh one of those situations that he found himself in
01:33but
01:33he's made some changes ahead of the race and hopefully it works out for him
01:36certainly looking fired up here and uh very successful rider around this track of course won the last three
01:41gps he's raced here uh back in mx2 2022 and the two gps in 2021 he won all three of
01:47those in the mx2 class
01:48as well as sealing his most recent title so he's good round here and he's at the moment trying to
01:54hunt
01:54down the boss and the boss hits the little step up step over a step down as he works his
02:00way towards
02:01the end of this unofficial opening lap remember finish line to finish line before you get that first lap
02:05recorded geyser there in third place he split the two hondas on the opening laps of race one and
02:11pretty much that lasted until lap 13 when fevra found his way past vial to move into third with about
02:17five
02:18remaining so tim geyser can he do anything about tom vial here in race two
02:27and roman fevra there in six his title chase is done and dusted but he's still in the battle with
02:32tim geyser those two 38 points apart heading into race two and obviously with geyser there
02:37we've got adamo here and fevra fevra looking to go up the inside of the italian and he does he
02:44moves
02:44into well briefly into fifth place
02:49yep and sealed it as well so yeah good to see ruben fernandez still back out there and battling the
02:53iron rockland um river fernandez iron man if you like staying there in seventh despite uh two big
03:00crashes this weekend that has knocked him about a little bit but yeah jonas in fourth ahead of his
03:04teammate fevra not getting a good gate drop this time yeah so 38 points coming into race two between
03:09uh fevra in second in the championship geyser in third and obviously uh geyser in second in
03:14third place at the moment he's going to be on 20 points fevra's going to be on 16 so there's
03:19going to
03:19be another a few points pulled back there in favor of the slovenian obviously still plenty of time to run
03:25look 27 minutes plus two laps here's jeremy siwa chasing down the 70 of ruben fernandez so the
03:32venric atm chasing the third of the honda hrc patronus riders who's been in the thick of it he's
03:37been in the wars a little bit this weekend volandran just behind him uh on the number 10 red bull
03:42ducati
03:42the only red bull ducati in this race of course after andrea bonacorsi withdrawing from race two
03:49prior to lining up due to food poisoning so uh the italian bonacorsi we won't see him until china
03:56when we line up for the qualifying races and of course the practices on saturday so get well soon
04:00boner a rough start for his former team as well the fantix right at the back there 14th to 15th
04:05at the moment alviku lasting longer than he did in race one at least he's there ahead of his teammate
04:09ferrato right at the back not quite sure what happened to alberto in the early laps sun getting low
04:15just as it was this time of day in the qualifying race yesterday every time they turn left towards the
04:19first
04:19turn and similar parts of the racetrack that sun will be getting lower and lower you see the wind
04:24picking up as well with the uh the tensioning of the flags track side so there might be one or
04:30two
04:30jumps where that could be a a slight issue where the bigger the higher of course that depends on
04:35whether you get blown one way or the other or maybe it's in front or behind you but uh jonah's
04:40here
04:40in fourth fevra behind him in fifth
04:45and ruben fernandez comes up a little short and misses the the breaking zone goes to the
04:51very outside rut that's where he fell in race one when he fell from 12th place flashback city for
04:57fernandez going into that corner you can see he didn't even want to try to take any of those ruts
05:01as
05:01he went swapping into it just making sure he kept up right at least so the two kawasaki's led out
05:06by the
05:07lead kawasaki racing team mxgp rider at the moment paul's jonas number 41 he is in fourth place fevra
05:15the now decrowned dethroned champ in fifth place on that number one kawasaki adamo about another three and
05:23a half seconds further back he's in six fernandez seven c8 panza nine valana and in ten ahead of
05:27borg moog here it's elzinger talviku ferrato and tom sellick in 16th place oh you see how the wind is
05:34just picking up there and blowing the dirt across the racetrack there coming out of that right hand
05:39turn in the middle of the circuit turn nine a few jumps here big enough for that to be a
05:44factor
05:44possibly paul getting high enough for that especially over that big triple in the middle the liquid
05:48molly one that would be one of them
05:53but i'm sure the riders would be aware of it they'll certainly feel it if it wasn't an issue on
05:56the first lap and if it gradually starts to build up of course the the way they deal with that
06:00then
06:00if the wind is blown from your left let's say you oh geyser off the side of the track
06:07and when did he go off and when did he rejoin well either way he's lost two positions so you
06:10can't
06:10say he gained an advantage there on the monstronis yamaha he drops from third jonas goes to third
06:17fevra into fourth geyser now down to fifth well that's a real uh mistake there from slovenian there's a
06:24prime position for second overall here now that's uh handed the advantage in that battle to tom biao
06:29they'll be level on points at the moment so geyser got to get back up past either one of these
06:33two
06:34kawasaki's for him hopefully both but uh yeah that's giving himself a little bit more tougher second
06:39race here and he wasn't really pulling away from them massively anyway so just to be hovering maybe a
06:47second and a half two seconds clear and now be a second half two seconds further back suggests that
06:51they're all running a pretty similar pace you see where the dust is blowing in from uh left to right
06:56as the riders hit that jump right to left as we hit it that's the kind of jump that uh
07:00you'll be
07:00looking at sort of going well need to be mindful of that situation jump a little bit more central or
07:06jump into the wind so if the wind's coming in from the left sort of create an arc if you
07:10like
07:10almost turn onto the jump and curve your way because you know you're going to be intending to sort
07:15of jump and land sort of middle go out left and jump and land down in the middle but uh
07:20if you
07:21even get caught you're already prepared for that but if you jump straight and it catches you that's
07:25when it catches you off guard it's almost like grabbing the front brake and the wheels not
07:29aligned uh straight if you like and then pulling you over to the right hand side or the left hand
07:33side
07:34whichever it may be anyway
07:38right so this was geyser going off track a moment ago on the run to the final turn
07:45just there oh yeah there was uh yes just straight over the bank in the end so yeah i don't
07:50think he
07:51gained too much of an advantage there he couldn't go back on himself and he just got back on in
07:54time
07:54on the finish line but uh stayed out of the way he looked over the shoulder as well there was
07:59no
07:59handful of gas so i don't think there'll be any penalties there that's good save in the end he could
08:04have had a quite big crash there so yeah yeah a bit of a cat-like reflexes there from the
08:08five-time
08:09world champion jonas looking good here had a podium in the first time he raced mxgp here third overall
08:15in 2019 so uh he's uh won a qualifying race back in his mx two days but right now he's
08:20got fevere all
08:20over him desperate to keep his teammate behind him he's had not one about 21 looks over his shoulder
08:24since he hit the finish line the number 41 paul's jonas he knows he's there he thinks well if i
08:28go
08:29defensive you're gonna have to go the long way around that's exactly what fevere does in the end as he
08:32snatches that third place away from his uh his latvian teammate paul's jonas jonas now down to
08:38fourth fevere moving into third the oval rankings that puts the latvian currently now down into
08:44fifth place there behind geyser but geyser has to pass one of them to get equal although if he does
08:51equal he'll still have to pass fevere to get back onto that podium because he'll be level on points
08:56yeah paul's jonas he had a fantastic second in uh race two in sweden didn't he a couple of weekends
09:00ago
09:02and uh obviously feeling very much rejuvenated and motivated and uh geyser looking to come back
09:08after him as well jonas should park him but he doesn't he looks over to the left and of course
09:14geyser goes around the outside of him so maybe just a little bit too much energy spent in the first
09:18race
09:19and maybe the early stages of race two for jonas to even think about keeping geyser at bay geyser now
09:24up in
09:24fourth place yeah those are the actions of a man who's really not thinking of being or not being
09:30a regular podium visitor certainly paul's jonas there he's had injury issues again this year
09:34uh but all in all see what happens with paul's there's no word at all on his uh future so
09:40far
09:43so uh pit board here rf straight ahead or move forward and that's exactly what he did
09:54got around the outside i think jonas obviously got memories about going over the top of that berm a
10:00few years ago when it was more sort of cupped like a wall of death ended up on the uh
10:05the other
10:06side on that walkway i'm not sure if ever went for a a tear off there or if that was
10:10just a thumbs up
10:10to his team for saying thanks for that message i'd probably go with the tear off alternative
10:17anyway herlings just set the fastest lap at a moment ago but it's already been eclipsed by his
10:20teammate tom viala 155031 fastest lap in race one was a 54-0 so we'll keep an eye on that
10:27019
10:29of course in the uh a cherubis fastest laps sort of uh docket lucas kunin with seven so far
10:35hurlings with six febvre with two tom viala with one so who will it be that comes away with the
10:41the latest a cherubis fastest lap in race two massive peak on roman febvre at the moment that's uh
10:46the sun visor yeah almost that past his front number plate
10:52ah michele levetti there urging geisser on to get onto the rear wheel at the very least of roman
10:59febvre after making that mistake there's febvre coming into land as guys here it's take off on the liquid
11:03molly jump back sorry back to taking the triple jump there didn't he with it going sideways that
11:10was a bit of a sketchy moment for uh for tim yeah and that's where the riders of this caliber
11:14sort of
11:15like they know they can sense when they hit something just prior to take off and that split
11:19section react split second reaction that can be the difference between uh jumping safely and saving
11:26something or just going for broke and actually ending up broke you know what i mean where you've sort
11:30of gone oh no i've still got this until you haven't and then guess what you know the carnage then
11:34sort
11:34of follows on but yeah there was just that one little twitch backed off just the right time kept
11:39it short and then rode out of it might have lost him a little time to roman febvre in the
11:43process but
11:44he'll come back and go again the gap at the last split was 2.1 between febvre and geisser so
11:50we'll see
11:50what it is when they hit the finish line sector four in a moment but hurling's already over the line
11:54another 54 154.8 so uh he's got about eight tenths to make up if he's to take the a
12:00chair of his
12:00fastest lap in race two that's not two for two fastest laps in the weekend it's the fastest lap
12:06in either race one or race two that goes on the card big face full of dust there for geisser
12:12as
12:12uh vlander and siwa we've seen these two battle already in race one so uh this time carmen looking
12:18to repay the favor yeah it was in the qualifying race as well wasn't it where those two were sort
12:22of uh
12:22locked together in that seventh and eighth place siwa just went off track on the run towards the
12:29finish line after that rhythm section yeah but kevin vallana and definitely up for the fight here
12:33he's in 11th at the moment hawkmo has just found his way past siwa so the honda motor blues sr
12:37motel
12:38rider who's uh here on uh very sort of uh skeleton support crew he's got mum dad here he's got
12:44the
12:44girlfriend and the mechanic that's it no eve de maria no joss solfront team owner wow and uh he'll be
12:50going straight to china he's one of the few going straight to china rather than going home for a
12:53couple days so he's on for the uh the long haul yeah three-week tour the big the southern hemisphere
12:59big suitcases packed for sure fulandran down the inside of siwa and picks him off and moves up in
13:07the 10th place on the red bull ducati
13:13let's see we're hoping for a replay of the race one pass we went uh the inside of him through
13:17the
13:17split lane but this time he'd rather just look around uh over to make sure no one else is coming
13:21carving wise to it anyway just blocking things off to make sure the swiss rider doesn't get him back
13:27he's definitely picking up isn't it the uh the breeze now all around this afio motorsport center
13:35see we're not done yet though just wondering whether the van ruy ktm rider just made one
13:38or two little mistakes for vallandran just to get half a sniff here is the number 84 with that gold
13:45plate with the number one on the front of that motorcycle for those wondering if you're just
13:49joining us late with 16 and a half minutes plus two laps to go hurlings was crowned world champion
13:53for a sixth time in race one and now joins joel robert the first to reach that milestone of course
14:00and uh nine-time champ tony cairoli ten-time champ stefan evarts and he's moved away he's now stand
14:07alone from the other five-time champs that he shared that uh sort of accolade with when you look back
14:15to
14:15sort of the likes of roger da costa george joe bay eric kapors joel smetz and tim geisser he now
14:20goes one
14:21better than all of those and uh being a numbers man jeffrey always had that slight thing the two
14:27five-time world champions together he was always a little bit uh cagey about that one for sure he
14:32would want to still be the the one the one with the most world championships in the active riders
14:36list if you like at the moment got his hands full though hasn't he with his teammate tom vial he's
14:40uh
14:40yeah he's getting doesn't look like 2.1 seconds at the moment as we hit the next intermediate sector
14:45here didn't make the triple there either down to 1.5 good effort this from vial yeah
14:51pushing him
14:54conditions look our they're just starting to dry out now so those outside berms they're going to
14:58start to turn to marbles with that hard blue groove slick underneath for those who live in america it's
15:04going to be almost like this sort of saddleback um sort of uh track there's uh federica setzi
15:11in one of the uh championship winning uh vests if you like from honda hrc patronus
15:17which all of the team are pretty much donned immediately after that first race with the
15:23title celebrations in full swing i walked into the vip section actually i know one of the guys
15:28there marcus one of the english guys who uh front of house in that uh in front motor racing vip
15:33and he
15:34said yeah yeah we've just got the hurlings clan in here at the moment i'd already spoken to jeffrey's
15:38dad at lunch briefly and um i went inside i saw his mum real quick and as i gave her
15:44a hug to say
15:44congratulations i've not seen her for a long time and uh tom vial making a slight mistake there
15:49literally 10 seconds afterwards jeffrey hurlings walked in and uh all of his fan club were there
15:54the ones that have traveled here fan supporters those uh sponsors and supporters parents in there
15:59as well he just walked in and uh the place erupted you know to cheers as he walked in and
16:04just sat
16:04down just to have a moment with them in the uh half-time break so that was a nice moment
16:07to see
16:08um and away from the cameras as well no cameras were there no videographers or anything like that it was
16:12just a private moment just for him just to sort of uh maybe come back down to earth ever so
16:17slightly
16:17but uh yeah great to be a part of 154.7 tom vial now 2.1 seconds behind the bullet
16:23he went in
16:24with a 155.6 so vial again inching closer to that the cherubis fast lap from the first race
16:36replay of the start over on the right hand side the two hondas look at vial
16:41mine is very jorge prado-esque but as soon as he gets over the gate he finds a bike length
16:45from
16:45absolutely nowhere incredible yes power to weight and all the rest of it is about three kilos wet
16:50through compared to jeffrey hurlings who's never going to be three kilos wet through
16:56see yeah fevere just getting squeezed there and barge and knocked around by adamo what will happen to
17:02ferrata because hey stop there look because ferrata is still right at the back of the pack
17:0619 seconds shy of talviku at the back of the pack very strange yeah hurlings with the uh the foxhole
17:12shot
17:13then back to back turning that to be the perfect weekend fastest in free practice time practice
17:20quali race win race win at warm-up race win six world title two foxhole shots and he's eyeing up
17:27another one one finish here for another grand prix victory here in mxgp this weekend in turkey
17:34yeah just being selfish is jeffrey there is he responding to the gap well it's not that much
17:38difference but he does get three tenths over vial that was probably down to the problem in this
17:43corner for vial on the previous lap i'd like to see actually where jeffrey hurlings just came over the
17:47finish line i want to see a replay where he came in over the finish line and into the next
17:52corner
17:52where you've got the double single because you see now where the ground is so dry here as he breaks
17:57it's so slick now and there's just so much unpredictability he just manages to get it in
18:03parks just perfectly but uh yeah just now some of the issues that riders having to deal with as the
18:09track starts to get a little bit more beat up chewed up dries out because of the wind and the
18:13the sun which is still hovering sort of like mid to high 20s almost 30 degrees and uh yeah the
18:20circuit
18:21now drying to marbles in some places and you've got to be careful of edges like that on the little
18:24faces of those jumps but just a another picture of the slow-mo how these riders just deal with
18:32situations like that yeah they come in they know they're going to jump short because if they over
18:35jump then it's obviously going to mess up over the single maybe push them too wide second or third
18:40right into that next right-hander so obviously you jump short you have to soak it up you have to
18:44hit
18:44the brakes you've already then sort of slid off line one way and then the other yeah pants are here
18:50he
18:50is in eighth 1.6 seconds behind ruben fernandez there on the number 70 honda hrc petronas machine
18:57but what another great performance this is from yan pantser tem jp253 privateer every sense of the word
19:03i don't know if he's part of the whole fly in with the crate this weekend or if he's even
19:07driven the
19:07camper here this weekend with the trailer it is with the crate yeah we're uh we're following this
19:11weekend for behind the gate so uh yeah this has been uh instead of like i say the normal family
19:16camper as you say uh the the van and the trailer it literally is that you'll see bigger trucks at
19:20a
19:20local amateur meeting but uh yeah yan makes it work for himself but yeah he is in the uh the
19:26standard
19:26tents like most of the other teams this weekend so yan pantser flexing his muscles in this second race
19:33here inside joke as we had him sat behind the scenes said he lost four kilos of muscle when he
19:38got food poisoning at the first round in argentina i was in here charlotte you haven't got four muscles
19:42to lose and he just showed us his little biceps was about two kilos worth there on each arm and
19:49he
19:49made some kind of comment as well didn't he bless him yeah he's uh he's a good character yan quiet
19:53but
19:53yeah one of the only three riders here who's actually raced at all eight afyon gps there the other
19:58two riders geyser and of course jeremy siwa but yeah yan two of those in mxgp six in mx2 but
20:03yeah
20:04at the moment looking good for maybe a top uh certainly a top ten eighth overall is where he would
20:09be right now but he's tied on points with fernandez and that's the rider he's trying to chase down so
20:13that could be one of his uh best results of the year well current podium would be jeffrey hurlings going
20:171-1 tom vial 4-2 roman fevre 3-3 tied on points at the moment with tim geyser who
20:23would be 2-4 both
20:24of those two on 40 points so uh geyser needs to whittle down that near three second advantage back
20:30to fevere if he's to get on the podium fevere needs to stay there if he can doing a good
20:35job
20:35of it at the moment but when you look at uh yeah jeffrey hurlings five wins around here looking to
20:39make it six he hasn't finished second or third on the podium in his time here tim geyser with two
20:44wins three thirds and uh three seconds and a third tom vial with three wins 21 he won two of
20:51those when
20:51we were in those covet times remember all of these in mx2 and again in 2022 his final year in
20:55mx2
20:55so to come back here pick up a podium his fourth and his first time as a non-winner but
21:01second overall
21:01uh that would be absolutely fantastic and back-to-back one twos for the um for the honda team
21:07again i'm sure that's happened before over the course of the season
21:12or not no i don't think it has yeah back-to-back one twos anyway like you say
21:18they were first and third a week ago weren't they in uh in the netherlands at arnhem
21:22yeah jeffrey's only non-win here was the uh the year when he crashed uh 2024 crashed in front of
21:27the pit lane picked up quite nasty burns to his arm and uh yeah obviously that one uh cost him
21:33round 13 they got a one-two in czech republic uh fevere was third overall that day so uh we
21:38will
21:38repeat the podium from block at czech republic this weekend if it stays as it is
21:43guys are doing all he can to try and make sure that's not happening his battle on screen is the
21:47battle of four fifth overall with adamo and jonas currently level on point so at the moment the
21:52latvian would come out on top of that one is uh adamo yeah breaking for sure his uh turkey hoodoo
21:58as he said there when he was saying his wonderful cool vest to lisa that uh yeah never really got
22:03on
22:03too well with his track unexpected because he's uh obviously a hard pack man but um still looking good
22:08here yeah jonah something despite his sort of uh previous podiums where he was uh second in 2018
22:14and third in 2019 he's had those moments as well hasn't he where the old finish line used to land
22:18and instead of going straight on double single switch back right switch back left it used to sort
22:23of just at that point of where that first roller is there used to be a chicane right left onto
22:27the
22:28start straight and uh he and prado when prado took his first mx2 title uh came together there when
22:33uh they clashed mid-air and obviously uh jonas wasn't able to line up for i don't think he even
22:39lined up for the second race unless it was in the second race certainly the following gp he was out
22:43of that of course that gave prado a clearer route to the world championship at the final round
22:49so um yeah he's had his moments around here of course that one after pit lane as well we talked
22:54about that where he uh i don't know missed his braking zone or had a stone under the brake and
22:58went
22:58straight on and pretty much pulled a front flip out of the track yeah so he'll just be wanting
23:04to get through this one and uh if he does he'll be fifth overall this weekend paul's jonas
23:10which uh fourth overall in sweden two weeks ago two rounds ago that's a little bit of consistency
23:17for the latmian yeah not been a bad end of the season at all the riders he thought would have
23:22been
23:22one of the next big things 2017 mx2 world champion of course and then he looked at the start of
23:272018
23:27to be almost unbeatable with the number one plate he just looked like the boss but then prado
23:31started to come through and obviously you can see the rest is history there with prado since
23:35collecting four world titles and jonas several injuries that have really prevented him from
23:40pushing for any serious success in mxgp but it is good he's one of the most likable characters
23:45uh in the paddock and uh yeah good to see him up here battling in the top five six and
23:49a half minutes
23:50plus two laps to go there and mxgp race two here in affion and as we do look at the
23:54uh
23:55achebe's fastest lap that looks like it's going to stand from race one 154.019 on lap nine with
24:01jeffrey hurlings because his teammate has only gone 154.7 in race two so that will be another one
24:09for perfection in the weekend of jeffrey hurlings here this weekend because he'll also take the
24:13fastest lap with him as well as uh potentially two race wins a grand prix victory a world championship
24:17uh fastest in free practice time practice qualifying warm-up and all the rest of it
24:22i mean how much more do you want really oh he's all about the numbers for sure
24:28anyway here's tim geyser 9.8 seconds down on fevere now that one mistake that just threw him
24:33off track dropping him from uh what those two positions from uh third down to fifth before
24:39he found his way back past jonas to get into that fourth place he's not going to be on the
24:42podium here as
24:43it stands right now and not being able to make any inroads into fevere but uh stevenian in his last
24:51gp in his 20s turns 30 years old on tuesday i believe so yeah he's uh getting towards veteran
24:56status now but still lots of fight left in him for sure and uh we'll see what he can do
25:01a full winter
25:02on that bike of course he only had a couple of months at the start of the year when he
25:05can actually
25:05still just sit on it so yeah from that side we'll see what he can do with a full winter
25:09of preparation
25:10to get ready for 2027. of course before that the metacross of nations there at erne the
25:18stevenian team going in as world number five after last year iron man so the same squad i believe
25:23himself panza and jaka peklai see what they can do at erne yeah jackass making up the numbers there
25:28but um yeah just uh that incident with pj and um prado through the finish chicane after the finish
25:36line jump in 2018 that was in the first race when that happened and then obviously pj went out and
25:43went and won prado staying out of his way of course didn't want any kind of retaliation
25:49this was geyser down just a few moments ago that was uh you know what we saw a camera angle
25:55a moment
25:55ago and he disappeared behind the thing and i just thought has he just tipped over then we switched
25:59camera angles and then uh and i thought yeah nothing of it because it was so quick so yeah
26:03he's lost a little bit more time there there's geyser to fevere that's where that 10 seconds has gone then
26:10yeah six seconds and that's first sector of the previous lap but six seconds he lost
26:14uh on all the uh surrounding riders so that's the uh problem there for geyser and now well it's now
26:21just
26:21toughing out until the end isn't it four minutes plus two laps for the civilian to uh try and recover
26:25anything but for sure maybe the podium is out of reach now just looking at the landing zone on that
26:29city jump there where all those ruts that were soft they're now starting to hard harden up and of course
26:34if you're not straight in any of those they're going to be like curb stones yeah 3 45 on the
26:40clock
26:40plus two laps and the same through those waves there where they were soft earlier they're now going to
26:44be like uh hard edge ruts right the way through so you're gonna have to be inch perfect on those
26:48parts
26:48the racetrack tom vial whatever changes he did make to uh potentially that front end he's obviously
26:53working out for him because he's now 1.2 seconds behind jeffrey hurlings the race leader honda hrc
27:01patronus one two in the race they're going to finish one two for the second time this year don't have
27:05to go back to as far as uh round 13 in locket czech republic to see them go one two
27:09again on what was
27:11another uh milestone weekend for the team but as they hit the line with about three minutes to go
27:15vial ducking his head doesn't like the uh roost off the rear wheel of his teammate's machine
27:19as he comes in to land but he believes he can win the race here it won't be for the
27:24overall
27:24but a race win for tom vial would be a nice little feather in the cap he is absolutely pushing
27:29the
27:29bullet all the way here and that is incredible to see i mean tom vial we interviewed him this weekend
27:34and he he just doesn't i can never compute seeing tom off track he doesn't look like a motocross
27:40side doesn't even look like an athlete i mean obviously slim trim and all the rest of it but he
27:44just doesn't seem to have that motocross rider's sort of face body physique the whole thing but you
27:49get him on a bike and he's an animal it's incredible to watch and i love seeing him do the
27:53business like
27:53this and wow this could be set up for an exciting 2027 if he can carry this form and improve
27:58it again
27:59with the year under his belt this could be a fantastic battle all year long next year was that
28:04ferrato they just found their way by the right pink yeah a lap down then in 15th place so he's
28:08just riding
28:09around trying to pick up points yeah it's very slight build has uh tom vial and uh kind of a
28:16pretty boy face and all the rest of it unlike his old man who's a bruiser back in the day
28:19and he's a
28:20bruiser now still you won't want to mess with him down the dark alley you won't want to mess with
28:23him
28:23if you got on the wrong side of him i think i probably did feel his elbow on more than
28:28one occasion
28:28probably felt mine as well but there you go i was going to say do you have any contreton with
28:32him
28:32with him at any point uh i mean we've always got on actually yeah we've always got on but uh
28:36you know on
28:37the track you just leave it out there don't you and then uh you know you make up but uh
28:43tom vial
28:43definitely going for the the newly crowned world champion here that would be a big scout for tom if
28:49he can do this one of course you've got to guess any other ride well almost any other rider apart
28:54from jeffrey would just say okay i've finished the championship no worries but you just know how much
28:58he wants that perfect sheet of first places like you say the whole weekend and the title as well
29:02but tom he knows as well just how uh jeffrey goes for that sort of thing so yeah he knows
29:08this would be an absolute sweet one for him tell you what there's nothing in it is there three
29:14quarters of a second if that as they uh hit the line at the end of lap 14 we move
29:19into lap 15
29:21championship done and dusted so no nervous faces down there for the jeffrey hurling side of the
29:27garage from the from the garages down there but you know what this is what they want to see as
29:30well
29:31no sort of uh team orders hurlings nice and low one way look at vial coming in to land from
29:36the
29:37other side drone cam just above would have captured every moment of that i'm sure yeah know that time
29:42stamp i want that on behind the gate that's a beautiful shot i'm sure of those two going uh the
29:46different sideways over that jump and this is just this is a great enjoyable race like you say
29:50championship done the pair of them would just be loving this absolutely flat out
29:58be interesting to see actually if he does go one one here jeffrey hurlings because if he does that
30:02will be 87 1-1 for three wins like as in with a double moto win oh back end a
30:11little bit larry there
30:12for tom vial maybe just pushing the envelope a little too much in the latter stages of this race trying
30:16too
30:16hard to get on terms with his teammate the gap when we uh head towards the end of the wave
30:23section will be
30:24more of a story it was 2.1 just through that chicane a moment ago just about 50 meters further
30:29down the
30:29track but you see those edges now starting to cause havoc too much gas at the wrong angle
30:35ruben fernandez doesn't like this corner very much does he nothing wrong with that he's all right
30:42is that yeah yeah but i just thought there was maybe going to be more to that yeah me too
30:47he's probably the best he's been around there all race
30:50that was the highlight that was actually his best the best time around like around that corner
30:54so the gap now to 2.3 we'll get him over the line a couple corners from now
31:00and uh two lap board getting ready to go out for the number 84 jeffrey hurlings oh look at that
31:05nicely just wheeling over that little crest feather in the clutch 1.4 the gap between him and tom vial
31:12as we
31:13move into the penultimate lap and tom vial was the fastest in sector 4 28 for a full second gained
31:18on his teammate in that final sector which is from the end of the waves to the finish line area
31:25so he can't afford to switch off and tom vial keeping him honest here jeffrey hurlings
31:30which is good to see yeah not a walk in the park
31:33and you uh you would have forgiven vial for like slightly throwing in the towel after that little
31:38bobble that prevented him from doing the liquid molly triple but yeah that's uh final sector the
31:42fastest of anybody all race long with two laps to go nothing wrong with the fitness and nothing
31:46wrong with the determination of this rider to try and deprive his teammate of perfection
31:52not sure which way to put this is it age versus youth or youth versus age hey battle of the
31:56ages
31:57if you're trying to push it from the start of the year just to see like the next generation against
32:01the uh the older generation let's just say it that way and uh yeah this is the sort of thing
32:06we were
32:06hoping and expecting for from tom obviously injuries mid-season have sort of curtailed his title tilt
32:12but you know he's going to be feeling it and uh getting ready for next year with massive optimism
32:16yeah still only one and a half seconds or thereabouts 1.7 as this circuit dries out
32:22wind picking up getting more and more slick in places more and more unpredictable with
32:26the the loose drying dirt hard dirt like marbles underneath the rear tires of these riders
32:32got to have a lot of faith and confidence in your front end when you peel into the turn some
32:36corners like that they're a little bit drier still a little bit stickier but uh there are other corners
32:41where it's just very loose like this part of the racetrack which is why bl ended up sort of
32:44making that mistake and just forcing himself off to the right which is when fevra found his way by
32:48with a few laps to go in race one but he's close and he's as close as he's ever been
32:52in this race
32:53hurlings is on the ropes here will he let him have the win for the second time this year in
32:57terms of
32:58race victories tom vial or is he going to fight for every one of these championship points still
33:03even though he doesn't need them anymore jeffrey hurlings either way we've got a showdown finale
33:07between hurlings and vial two former world champions well the current 2026 world champion
33:13i should say but the two world champions going bar to bar wheel to wheel here on the final lap
33:17of this
33:18grand prix here in afion turkey former teammates at ktm they were massive friends and training
33:23partners then they are again now and look at this for a showdown and tom vial as fastest again wow
33:29by
33:29almost another second in the final sector as he was a lap ago so it's down to hurlings now to
33:34respond to
33:34not give vial the opportunity in that final sector those final six or seven corners he goes a little bit
33:40deep there in turn four the first of those double apex he picks it up nicely there drops it down
33:45does the double and hurlings at the moment still only has about 1.2 seconds as it stands right now
33:52great race in here exactly what you want to see because you can sit there and say yeah championship
33:56done done and dusted a massive anti-climax because hurlings disappears into the sunset but
34:01it's not been that easy for him here
34:06we saw with cole davies didn't we a couple of weeks ago when he won the or last weekend when
34:09he won the championship in in iron man in the 250 division he won the championship in race one he
34:14was up there in race two and then all of a sudden maybe the reality of what just happened just
34:18started
34:18to play on his mind and just started to lose positions knowing that he'd already got the championship
34:22i don't think jeffrey hurlings is that kind of mentality that kind of mindset but look at the line
34:27look at the speed there that vial generates and he opens up this corner nicely through this left-hand
34:32turn he is so fast through that final corner i've not seen anybody all weekend go as fast on that
34:37outside line on this corner coming up is he going to be close enough to make it count against jeffrey
34:41two corners to go look over the shoulder from the bullet
34:46this right hand up we get through the rhythms and he stays nice and low there does tom vial he's
34:50getting
34:51closer he may just run out of time 10 out of 10 for effort though for the frenchman as he
34:55does rail
34:55the outside oh the gap was 9.9 of a second they hit the line now and it's down to
35:00less than a half a
35:01second hurlings wins out from his teammate great ride from hurlings sensational from tom vial chasing
35:07hurlings right the way down to the line half a second in it but it's hurlings who goes 1-1
35:13here once
35:13again as he has done on so many occasions massive respect between those two good friends and uh former
35:20teammates and again teammates fevers going to cross the line in third he knows his job is done
35:25in terms of maintaining or gaining points on uh tim geyser in that respect for their fight for second in
35:32the championship fevers across the line third we wait for geyser in fourth he's going to be around
35:37about eight seconds down and there he does go through and it's going to be jonas with a fifth
35:41place finish here in race two yeah 40 points now the gap between fevers and geyser in their battle for
35:49second place and also adamo with sixth overall closest to within seven points of lucas kunan
35:53for fourth in the championship that would not be a bad return for your first mxgp season if you're
35:59the italian but vial is still is now advancing just to 15 points behind adamo so that is close to
36:06get
36:06vial up to fifth maybe even fourth in the series uh by the end of the year 233 career race
36:12wins now for
36:13jeffrey hurlings 114 in mxgp just five off of his 119 that he picked up in mx2 18.
