00:01Welcome home residents, it's your mate Alistair back with something big, even bigger than Godzilla's girthy throbbing.
00:07The first full trailer for Dinosaurs of the Wild West has just dropped.
00:12With a boatload of new information, details on the story, and a brand new look at all the terrifying prehistoric
00:18monsters that will be appearing throughout the series.
00:21All I can say is you don't want to miss it, so let's take a look at that trailer from
00:25the start.
00:26Welcome to Dangerville.
00:29Dinosaurs of the Wild West comes from Primitive War's own Luke Spark, and is inspired by Sean Keenan's epic series
00:36of artwork, which features frontier towns, cowboys, Native Americans, and dinosaurs living in the same world.
00:44We have a new synopsis for the series, so you have a good idea on what it's all really about.
00:48In an alternate frontier, humanity navigates a dangerous land where every journey, every town, and every war depend on the
00:57giant creatures that shape civilization itself.
01:00But now, something is rising that threatens to change the world and the dinosaur connection forever.
01:06Dinosaurs of the Wild West is an epic adventure series that reimagines the American frontier through a world millions of
01:13years in the making.
01:14And the trailer delivers all that imagery immediately, where we see one of the female leads flying on top of
01:21what looks to be a Quetzalcoatlus.
01:23Like, what?
01:25First off, the scenery looks gorgeous, and looks to be set somewhere in Arizona.
01:30Like, tell me this doesn't look like the mountains of the Grand Canyon State, a place which is rich in
01:36Wild West history.
01:37Though I'm sure the series will be set across multiple states in the West.
01:40Following this, we get this gorgeous set piece where we see travelers sitting by a campfire, playing with what looks
01:47to be two Dromaeosaurs, most likely Deinonychus.
01:50Which appears to take almost the role of dogs in this world, efficient pets, and hunters that will protect their
01:57owners from anything that might threaten them.
01:59Which is very cute, I want one now.
02:01And in the back, we can actually see a really nice looking Triceratops, and even further back there, we see
02:07someone riding some kind of Hadrosaur.
02:10Most likely in Edmontosaurus.
02:12This whole shot with the sun setting as they camp up for the night is just such a vibe.
02:16I love it so much.
02:18Next up, we get this shot of the desert where a group seems to be migrating, making use of Triceratops,
02:24Hadrosaurs, this massive Dreadnoughtus, some Utahraptor at the front there,
02:28and even what looks to be a Suchomimus.
02:32Which is still real to me, dammit!
02:33We actually got a small glimpse of Suchomimus in Primitive War, and it's funny because I remember it getting a
02:39cheer, even though it was barely in it.
02:42So hopefully we get even more Suchomimus action in this series.
02:46Of course, sticking close together is smart, because in this world, there will be outlaws that make use of some
02:52of the most deadly dinosaurs known to man.
02:54And separating leaves you vulnerable, so crossing the desert in these large groups makes the most sense, especially with something
03:01as big as a sauropod helping you.
03:03Then we see this outlaw camp in the pitch black dark of night, illuminated only by his fire, where we
03:10can see him sleeping alongside his trusted companion, a Deinonychus,
03:14which looks to be really affectionate with its owner, which is just so cute, I want one.
03:18Imagine trusting a raptor that much you leave your neck exposed? He must trust it a lot.
03:24But then we get a glimpse of what seems to be someone using dinosaurs for war, as it looks like
03:28he's burned a hut down, potentially on the hunt for money, gold, or even revenge.
03:34Robbing was common in the Wild West, so it adds up.
03:37And alongside him, there are three huge Utah raptors, which likely help him in dealing with his victims.
03:43In nature, they could run up to 28 miles per hour, so no one would be able to escape these
03:49guys in a hunt.
03:50Next, we see what looks to be cowboys riding across the plains on their Utah raptors.
03:55And since we can see their lassos, they may be wrangling up their herd of cattle, or perhaps on the
04:00hunt for an outlaw.
04:01Either way, this is such a cool visual, especially since the leader looks to have a bright red raptor.
04:07Then we get the money shot, a cowboy riding a Tyrannosaurus Rex, as it roars, while the sun sets in
04:17the background.
04:18What an incredible shot, and the Rex looks to have a completely new design to Primitive War, since its silhouette
04:25does appear to be more unique.
04:27Then we get the title card, Dinosaurs of the Wild West, followed by this epic shot from the first teaser
04:34of the dinosaurs crossing the plain,
04:35led by what I'm assuming is the lead while he rides on the back of a Utah raptor.
04:40And while we're shown all these set pieces where we see man and dinosaurs coexisting,
04:44we hear narration from Cobra Kai's own Jesse Cove, where he says,
05:06This makes me think someone is trying to drive a wedge between humans and dinosaurs, replacing that relationship with man
05:17-made creations and modern technology.
05:19That's just the theory I came up with, but I could definitely see a corporation obsessed with control, expansion, and
05:25replacing the natural world becoming a major focus.
05:28Now, alongside this trailer, a bunch of new information was revealed alongside the launch of the Kickstarter,
05:34which is going to be the main method for how we're going to fund this cinematic event.
05:37So, let's take a look at that now.
05:39If you're enjoying this video, be sure to subscribe and stomp the notification button.
05:4365% of you aren't, so if you want to stay up to date, be sure to sub.
05:47Or else I'm going to set a Utah raptor on you.
05:49So, to be able to fund two feature-length episodes of this new series,
05:54Spark Productions is looking to the fans to help bring this universe to life.
05:58Which I'm totally on board with.
06:00This gives him more creative freedom to build the series how he wants, without producer interference.
06:05He's looking for $500,000 Australian dollars, which is about £260,000 or $350,000 US dollars.
06:13Now, obviously that's no small number, but for two full-length episodes of a VFX-heavy series,
06:19that's actually incredibly reasonable.
06:21Most modern shows have episode budgets of a couple million,
06:25so under $200,000 per episode is actually pretty modest.
06:29If you want to help fund the project, the link is in the description,
06:31and some of the rewards are pretty interesting.
06:34Ranging from the basic supporter pack, where you get to access the episodes themselves,
06:39to trading cards, a collectible statue, being featured in an episode,
06:43and even being able to design your own dinosaur.
06:46Now, one thing that's super cool that was revealed in the Kickstarter,
06:50is that if it's successful, it will be the start of a wider cinematic universe,
06:54where we'll explore different eras, and what it would be like if they also shared that world alongside dinosaurs.
07:01Like, imagine gladiatorial Rome, with dinosaurs!
07:05Or 18th century pirates, with dinosaurs!
07:09Or medieval Europe, with dinosaur-
07:12Okay, you get the idea.
07:13The possibilities are endless,
07:15so your support here will also solidify the building blocks for a wider dinosaur-filled future,
07:21which, I think we can confidently say, we all need.
07:25I think what really attracts me to this universe is how it reminds me of Dinotopia,
07:29if any of you remember that.
07:31For those that don't, it was basically this utopia where humans and dinosaurs co-existed,
07:35and lived alongside each other.
07:37Oh, and also some were smart, and were able to talk.
07:40It released in the early 2000s, and I loved it as a kid,
07:44so seeing something that taps into that kind of childlike imagination,
07:47just really resonates with me.
07:49And I can't wait to dive more into this world.
07:53So that was Dinosaurs of the Wild West.
07:56An awesome-looking idea, that is bringing to life something that pretty much every kid has wanted to see.
08:02Their favorite dinosaurs, alongside cowboys, in the Wild West.
08:06I can't believe we've gotten this far, and no one's done this before.
08:09Apart from this game called DinoStorm, which also looks cool,
08:13but I've unfortunately never actually played.
08:15But what did you think of the trailer?
