00:00Godzilla, King of the Monsters!
00:02Monsterverse fans, I've got some exciting news for y'all today.
00:05So hug your nearest goji and let's get to it.
00:08What's up everyone, this is Jacob.
00:10Let's start this moveable feast off with what you all want.
00:13Some Monsterverse goodness.
00:16The Monarch Files, a Monsterverse manual has been unleashed on the world.
00:21So far we've caught wind of some, let's just say, interesting bits of lore and new information
00:26on some of the Monsterverse's most famous titans like Behemoth, apparently being connected
00:30to the origin of all elephants on Earth.
00:34Which, what?
00:36So you guys can expect some videos on the new lore pretty soon on the channel.
00:40Speaking of new lore, those of you who have been here with Dangerville for years now,
00:45know how much I love lore.
00:47Making content on the lore of the Monsterverse back in the early days was honestly really fun.
00:53Being able to do that made my inner fan of this entire universe just feel happy.
00:59But it's become less fun over the years as the Monsterverse brand was molded to be way
01:05more simple and started the whole just don't think about it mindset when it came to questioning
01:11the story and the lore of the recent movies.
01:14And really the Monsterverse overall in general.
01:18This is just my opinion but those early Monsterverse movies really aimed to bring you into the crazy
01:24world of the Monsterverse.
01:26The lore was surprisingly complex while also being mysterious enough to keep fans always
01:32wondering, you know, who, what, when, where, and why.
01:35For some reason it's like Legendary gave up on trying to expand the lore of the Monsterverse
01:40in favor of making more casual easy going stories that people can just turn their brains off
01:45and have a good time.
01:47Which, there's nothing wrong with that.
01:49But when you have such a peak universe as the Monsterverse, anything that takes away from
01:54it should be avoided.
01:55I think that at least.
01:56Well, regardless, it finally sort of seems like Legendary is starting to remember that
02:01they have a pretty rich universe to work with here.
02:04And they're bringing the lore and story back to the Monsterverse.
02:08Coming out next year, just weeks before Godzilla X-Kong Supernova, Monsterverse Superfans
02:14will be able to get the Monsterverse Bestiary, the official field guide to Titans.
02:19And when you think about it, the Bestiary and the Monarch Files book are really good steps
02:25towards Legendary trying to maximize the lore of the Monsterverse.
02:29Now obviously not everyone gets excited for these collectible style franchise books,
02:35but I to this day remember how excited I was as a 13 year old or something like that
02:40when I got the collectible book for Peter Jackson's King Kong for Christmas.
02:44And hopefully some young kid will get that same experience now with the Monsterverse.
02:49Or it will just be us elder nerds and that's also cool.
02:54So let me give you a rundown from the Amazon listing of what the Bestiary will actually provide fans.
03:00I'll read what they have and give you guys some thoughts.
03:02The Titans of the Monsterverse have conquered the big screen and now in this deluxe and illustrated
03:08field guide, their mysteries are investigated and celebrated in full.
03:13Ever since King of the Monsters, I've obsessed over learning more about the Titans.
03:18There's just not really anything to learn about them.
03:21It felt like we would never get a lot of those mysteries surrounding the Titans solved.
03:26Hell it got to the point where fans had to question if these Titans even still were canon or not
03:31in the universe.
03:32So just hearing that we are going to get some answers to some of these mysteries is just flat out
03:38cool.
03:38Featuring original artwork of the mightiest Titans including Godzilla, Kong, Mothra, King Ghidorah, Rodan and many more.
03:46This comprehensive field guide is an essential compendium for understanding the incredible ecosystem of the Monsterverse.
03:53I'll add that after the last two movies there's a lot of explaining to do so we'll see just how
03:59much they explain here.
04:01Stunning artwork.
04:03Explore the Monsterverse like never before with original artwork depicting more than 60 creatures.
04:09Including your favorite Titans like Kong, Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra.
04:13So I hope we get some new concept art reveals and not just more of the same that we've already
04:18seen a few times over now.
04:21There's some really amazing artwork in the Monsterverse and I just want to see more of it.
04:25This next part of the description has me probably the most excited.
04:29Uncover the secrets of the Hollow Earth.
04:32Pore over expert field notes and gorgeous anatomical artwork.
04:36From Titans as massive as Godzilla and Kong to the plethora of lesser known creatures that cohabitate with them.
04:43And peel back the secrets of the Hollow Earth.
04:46If this bestiary gives us fully detailed blueprints for Godzilla and the other monsters where we can finally get some
04:54solid details about the monsters and their biology.
04:57This really will be a big deal for Monsterverse superfans.
05:01There's been so many fan theories and stories that have been made to kind of fill in these gaps in
05:07the Monsterverse lore.
05:09But if we could actually get some official true sort of storytelling to fill in those gaps.
05:15I'm excited.
05:16I'm not sure what secrets they are referring to but this whole thing just sounds like legendary.
05:21Is finally ready to make the Monsterverse feel like a true cinematic world.
05:26Or we can hope that at least right?
05:29Depicting more than 60 creatures and every era of monarch super species study.
05:34This volume represents the culmination of decades of Titan field research.
05:39And at 152 pages I imagine there's going to be some returning info and some new additions to the lore.
05:46That will be fun to talk about.
05:48So go ahead and leave this video a like.
05:50And share it around with your Monsterverse friends to let them know.
05:53And in this day and age where companies are charging people hundreds of dollars to pretty much breathe the same
05:59air as them.
06:00A $40 retail price ain't all that bad.
06:03But let's move on to some Monsterverse TV show news now.
06:07The spin-off series to Monarch Legacy of Monsters currently working under the title Red Monarch has got its first
06:13blast of official casting news.
06:16Filming for the series is currently happening right now over there in Prague.
06:20And with that we now know some of the actors who will be joining Wyatt Russell in this series.
06:25Euron Greyjoy and Aethelflaed are joining the Monsterverse.
06:28You heard me right.
06:30Game of Thrones' Palu Azbek who played the devious Euron Greyjoy.
06:34And The Last Kingdom's Millie Brady who played Aethelflaed are both set to star in the series alongside Wyatt Russell.
06:41You know Lee Shaw.
06:42I'm a huge fan of the Swords and Shields genre.
06:45So I've seen all of the Game of Thrones and most of The Last Kingdom.
06:49And I have to say I like these casting choices.
06:51Both are kinda old school actors from what I've seen.
06:54And both have acting abilities that I think will elevate them above a lot of what we've seen so far
07:00from this franchise.
07:01No offense to anyone.
07:02Right now there's no information on their characters but since it's an era piece taking place in 1984.
07:09And this whole show is about a Cold War era event that has an American Kaiju set off to face
07:14a Russian monster.
07:16I imagine both will use their character acting abilities to really bring that period of time back to life.
07:22Just a wild guess here.
07:23I think they're gonna both play Russian characters.
07:25On top of these two actors we also know who will direct the pilot episode which is a really big
07:30deal.
07:31J.D. Dillard a relative new face in the industry will do his best to start this series off with
07:36a bang.
07:38Which this series needs to start out that way if it wants to succeed long term.
07:42J.D.'s got a small sample size of work to judge but this is nothing new to the Monstaverse.
07:47But oddly enough he did direct a movie specifically a creature feature horror film featuring Monarch Legacy of Monsters own
07:54Kiersey Clemens.
07:55You know May.
07:57Just an odd fact there.
07:58So he's got experience with monster stories and I haven't watched that movie but the trailer seems solid.
08:05It hits all those survival film notes that you look for in a trailer and maybe I'll give it a
08:09watch down the line here.
08:10The success of this Red Monarch series rides with you J.D. in the beginning so here's hoping you can
08:15pull it off.
08:16No pressure man.
08:18Now everyone listen close now.
08:20There's whispers and rumors about a lot showing up at this year's Big Comic Con.
08:25So make sure to subscribe so you don't get left behind on all the news.
08:28Hopefully there actually is some.
08:30On that note this has been your Atomic News Update.
08:32I'm Jacob and I'll see you guys in the next one.
08:37We'll be back.
08:37But than us Holybok.
08:56We can sometimes come back at this years anymore.
08:56Like, truthfully we don't like anything and how it's doing.
