My January 6, 2023 call to Vulcan Imaging Associates CEO Eric Blackman. 6 months after trying to contact him, my calls and emails were never returned.

Followup to my April, 2022 call with Kim Mooney, Administrative Coordinator of Birmingham Alabama-based Vulcan Imaging Associates, who has 37 radiologists doctors in their group. I was told by Mooney that they "100% Stand By" a report of their radiologist who missed serious injuries in the MRI. She did not elaborate on who "they" were however. Mooney does not possess a medical license. I was also told they do not consult with patients and there was nothing their company could do in regards to my request to have a 2019 MRI scan reread, in which their doctor Michael Brant Ruff, stated I had no injuries and in which evidence of around 6 inches head trauma and infection can be observed. They would not put me in contact with the doctor or attempt to correct the error of their doctor.

Mooney gave me the phone number to reach the company CEO (strangely she would not transfer me to him or his voicemail despite working in the same office with him). In this call I dial the number I was given for the CEO only to find it was a wrong number. I then call Vulcan again directly and leave a message on their voicemail directed to CEO Eric Blackman. I invite Blackman to have a single of his 37 radiologists put their name and credentials and back up this erroneous report I was issued.

My attempt to call (University Of Tennessee honors graduate) Neuroradiology specialist Dr. Michael Brant Ruff MD (Vulcan Imaging). I'm a patient attempting to have a misdiagnosed MRI reread (Broken Skull). The truth of my issue is I had broken the underside of my skull, over about a year the wound became infected and infested with some type of parasite. I received a $600 bill from (Ascension) St. Vincent's Ambulatory Healthcare Network LLC in 2019 for this scan, I was told no injuries appeared here. Subsequent to this, between 2018-2019 I had several X-Rays and CT scans through Saint Vincent's East Hospital Birmingham AL., in which I was told no injury appeared. When I obtained my medical records of these scans, however, broken bone appears clearly in the underside of my skull in the exact area where I had (and still have) pain. How 4 different radiologists working for St. Vincent's could have missed this injury is concerning. I believe I may have been a victim of patient dumping (EMTALA violation) because I was a self pay patient and had no insurance or stated source of income.

This scan was done at Ascension St. Vincent's Trussville in 2019. 7201 Happy Hollow Rd Trussville, AL

Pell City-based Complete Health (formerly Northside Medical Associates) Trussville (who referred me to misdiagnosed MRI) did not stand behind me the patient (They could have told me what my injury was or had St. Vincent's reread the scan but they did not) but decided to back their business partners, Ascension. Medical records requested were denied to

00:00All right, so today we're trying to follow up on the Michael Brandt Ruff MRI that I had done in
00:062019.
00:07I was referred to this scan by Northside Medical Associates nurse James Frankie Currum.
00:14This is now Complete Health, owned by Faro's Capital.
00:19This is located off of Happy Hollow Road, Trustville, Alabama, headquarters in Pell City.
00:26Michael Brandt Ruff is a doctor who read the MRI for St. Vincent's Ambulatory Healthcare Network, LLC.
00:37That's Ascension.
00:40If you're following my documentation, you'll note here that in Birmingham, Alabama,
00:46we got a real big problem with responsibility, accountability, and radiology.
00:55You have reached the Administrative Office of Vulcan Imaging.
00:58If you know your party's extension, you may dial it now.
01:01I'm trying to reach CEO Eric Blackman regarding a misdiagnosed MRI that I had done involving one of your doctors,
01:10Michael Brandt Ruff, M.D.
01:13The doctor wrote in his analysis that I had no injuries, but in the picture, six inches of diameter,
01:20infection appears in my head.
01:22I had a broken skull.
01:24And the infection was noted by the nurse who referred me to the scan.
01:29I've been trying to get in touch with you for about six months.
01:32My calls and emails were never returned.
01:35I spoke to Kim Mooney of your office that told me Vulcan stands 100% behind that erroneous report of
01:41your doctor.
01:42She possesses no medical credentials and isn't qualified to make such a statement.
01:47It did not cite one of your 40 doctors to back up that statement.
01:51This is unacceptable.
01:52I need this injury.
01:54Acknowledge your original scan, re-read, and corrected.
01:56Your doctor needs to own up to his mistake.
01:59Last year, it was about getting the M.D.s to admit their errors.
02:02This year, it's all about the money.
02:04Kim Mooney told me your office doesn't consult with patients, and that's a coincidence
02:09because I have a consulting fee that you will have to pay before I speak with you.
02:13And I look forward to speaking to you, sir.
02:15Thanks.
