Hear my recorded phone call in the video.

Healthcare analytics provider Quinsite has publicly announced Vulcan Imaging Associates as a new customer in a Feb. 2024 Twitter posting.

My own patient experience with Vulcan and their doctors is not good. The public should be aware of the truth of their business practices.

I was a patient of Vulcan Imaging MD Michael Brant Ruff who missed 6 inches of infection in my head / neck and evidence of a broken skull injury I almost died from in 2019. I include my April, 2022 call with Vulcan's Kim Mooney. She presides over 37 radiologists doctors in their group. I was told by Mooney that they "100% Stand By" a report of their radiologist who missed serious injuries in the MRI. She did not elaborate on who "they" were however. Mooney does not possess a medical license. I was also told they do not consult with patients and there was nothing their company could do in regards to my request to have a 2019 MRI scan reread, in which their doctor Michael Brant Ruff, stated I had no injuries and in which evidence of around 6 inches head trauma and infection can be observed. They would not put me in contact with the doctor or attempt to correct the error of their doctor.

Mooney gave me the phone number to reach the company CEO Eric Blackman (strangely she would not transfer me to him or his voicemail despite working in the same office with him).

More on my attempt to call (University Of Tennessee honors graduate) Neuroradiology specialist Dr. Michael Brant Ruff MD (Vulcan Imaging):
I'm a patient attempting to have a misdiagnosed MRI reread (Broken Skull). The truth of my issue is I had broken the underside of my skull, over about a year the wound became infected and infested with some type of parasite. I received a $600 bill from (Ascension) St. Vincent's Ambulatory Healthcare Network LLC in 2019 for this scan, I was told no injuries appeared here. Subsequent to this, between 2018-2019 I had several X-Rays and CT scans through Saint Vincent's East Hospital Birmingham AL., in which I was told no injury appeared. When I obtained my medical records of these scans, however, broken bone appears clearly in the underside of my skull in the exact area where I had (and still have) pain. How 4 different radiologists working for St. Vincent's could have missed this injury is concerning. I believe I may have been a victim of patient dumping (EMTALA violation) because I was a self pay patient and had no insurance or stated source of income.

This scan was done at Ascension St. Vincent's Trussville in 2019. 7201 Happy Hollow Rd Trussville, AL

00:00All right, as always, you can go to YouTube channel My Medical Nightmare and see 40 plus
00:07hours video on everything that happened to me.
00:10All right, according to a February 27th, 2024 Twitter posting, Healthcare Analytics
00:19provider Quinsight has announced Vulcan Imaging Associates as a new customer.
00:26According to Quinsight, they're a leading provider of integrated healthcare data, analytics software
00:33to physician practices, hospitals and healthcare organizations, touching over 25 million patients
00:39and more than 2,500 providers nationwide across the United States.
00:45I wanted to share my experience as a patient dealing with Vulcan Imaging and would like to
00:53issue a bit of caution when dealing with Vulcan Imaging Associates.
00:59This applies to potential patients and business partners such as Quinsight.
01:05All right, so today we're trying to follow up on the Michael Brandt Ruff MRI that I had done
01:11in 2019.
01:12I was referred to this scan by Northside Medical Associates, a nurse, James Frankie Crum.
01:19This is now Complete Health, owned by Faro's Capital.
01:24This is located off of Happy Hollow Road, Trustville, Alabama, headquarters in Pell City.
01:31Michael Brandt Ruff is a doctor who read the MRI for St. Vincent's Ambulatory Healthcare Network, LLC.
01:42That's Ascension.
01:45If you're following my documentation, you'll note here that in Birmingham, Alabama, we got
01:52a real big problem with responsibility, accountability, and radiology.
01:59And this week I talked to the two main radiology companies in Birmingham, Alabama.
02:07And I recently spoke with Doyle Stewart, CEO of Birmingham Radiological Group.
02:15According to their website, they have 38 radiologists who work with them.
02:19And here in this call, you'll hear me speaking with Kim Mooney.
02:25She is the Administrative Coordinator at Vulcan Imaging Associates.
02:30And she states that they have 37 radiologists who work with them.
02:36So if you've got radiology issues, you go into a medical practice or hospital, doctor,
02:45you have an x-ray, MRI, CT scan.
02:48These are the types of doctors, and these may be the actual doctors, who will be looking
02:54at your scan in the Birmingham area.
02:59And yeah, according to my findings here, not very reassuring.
03:03If your scan is misread, you discover this and you try to seek a redress on these misdiagnosis
03:13issues.
03:16Not encouraging, my experience here.
03:19You have reached Vulcan Imaging.
03:22Vulcan Imaging, this is Kim.
03:24Yes, ma'am.
03:25I called last week.
03:26I was trying to get in touch with one of your radiologists, Dr. Michael Brandt-Ruff.
03:32I had an MRI scan that was looked at by this doctor.
03:36In 2019, I got a report with his signature on it, saying I don't have injuries.
03:44However, in the MRI images themselves, I have evidence of a very serious head trauma-based
03:51injury.
03:52And yeah, I was told last week that you guys would try to have this doctor get in touch
03:58with me.
03:59So it's been about a week, and I just wanted to see what the status of that was.
04:04Okay, so I did look into this, and based on, I mean, there's not anything else we can
04:12do.
04:13So there's not anything that Dr. Ruff can do to assist you with that, since the report's
04:18already been read.
04:19So there's not anything we can do.
04:21Well, I beg to differ.
04:23This was a $700 MRI scan.
04:25This doctor was paid to have this scan looked at, and he did not note the injuries.
04:31So he is at fault.
04:32And so is Vulcan Imaging.
04:35We stand by that report, 100%.
04:38Okay, well, the report is an error, 100%, ma'am.
04:41Can I speak to somebody in management?
04:46Yes, sir.
04:46I am the practice administrator.
04:49Okay, can I speak to the head of the company?
04:54Um, let's see.
04:55Who's above you?
04:57Um, the chairman of the board.
05:00Okay, well, I need to speak to somebody in authority, because you're an error with your
05:04statement, ma'am.
05:06Not professional.
05:08I am, so far you feel that way, but we stand by...
05:11Well, it's not how I feel, it's the facts, ma'am.
05:15Well, now, what you, if that's, if that's, if what you're stating, I would, I mean, we
05:20would respond, you know, maybe if you consult an attorney, to have...
05:24Well, I mean, if I can't, if I can't speak to somebody on the telephone about this, I'd
05:30be happy to come clear it up in person.
05:33You're more than welcome to come up here, um, and talk to whoever you need to talk to.
05:39Um, uh...
05:41Because this is a serious issue.
05:44I, I understand that from your perspective.
05:47Yeah, your, your excuses aren't going to cut it either, ma'am.
05:51It's not, it's not an excuse, sir.
05:53I, I really don't know how to help, um...
05:55What you should do is, okay, you're in business, all right?
05:58Well, you have, uh, doctors who went to school for 10 years, they're millionaires, okay?
06:03They're reading, uh, radiology reports for hospitals and other doctors, okay?
06:08What you need to do is, you need to have them do their job correctly.
06:12And if they miss major injuries in patients that they almost died from, such as myself,
06:17you need to simply, uh, make an attempt to correct this error.
06:21Now, I could get in touch with Dr. Michael Brant Ruff.
06:23I could supply my records.
06:25He could look at these images again.
06:27We can clear this up in a few minutes.
06:28Could I please talk to him?
06:31No, sir, you're, you're, I can't reach out to Dr. Ruff.
06:34Um, we, we don't consult with patients, um...
06:38That's a, that's a very sorry excuse, ma'am.
06:41I'm so sorry.
06:42That's our policy.
06:43Um, let's see, what can I do to help you?
06:47Let's see.
06:48Um, let's see.
06:50Uh, Eric Blackman is my CEO.
06:56Well, I mean, why, why are you mentioning his name?
06:58Why don't you just connect me to him?
07:00He's not in the office.
07:02Well, that's pretty convenient, huh?
07:05Well, it's the truth, um...
07:07Well, I don't believe you.
07:09I'm so sorry about that, um...
07:11Yeah, me too.
07:13Uh, let's see.
07:15What I can do is I can give you...
07:19Let's see.
07:21His direct number is...
07:23How many radiologists work for your company, ma'am?
07:27Um, I have, uh, 37.
07:32So you have 37.
07:33Um, why don't you take this scan, call somebody right now and have them look at this scan and
07:37correct this issue for me.
07:39But that is not how radiology works.
07:43We can...
07:43Yeah, you're not professional.
07:45We've already established that.
