00:00Good afternoon and happy summer solstice. The temperatures are on the rise as we head into next
00:06week. We have issued an amber extreme heat warning covering much of the central swathe of England
00:13and into Wales from Monday. So we could expect temperatures actually as we head into the week
00:1937, possibly 38 degrees. As well as that we're going to see some very warm and muggy nights.
00:26So please do stay tuned to the forecast. We're going to have high UV levels as well
00:30but this could cause some health risks as well as disruption to transport. And if you are heading
00:37out to open water or fresh water please do take care. It's still going to be cold and there is
00:42the risk of cold water shock. So stay tuned to the forecast for this as the warning area is likely
00:48to be updated as we go through the week. But back to the rest of today. Plenty of hazy spells
00:54of
00:55sunshine out there. Plenty of high level cloud. There are some showers in the mix across the
00:59northern half of England into Yorkshire and Lincolnshire pushing their way gradually northwards
01:04but in between plenty of fine and settled weather. A bit more cloud across northern half of Scotland.
01:10The odd shower here but the humidity will start rising across Scotland up to 21, 22 degrees
01:16into southern parts of England 31 degrees. A little bit cooler along that eastern coast where we've got a
01:23bit more of that onshore flow. As we end the solstice there'll be a few showers still across northern
01:28parts of England transferring their way northward. So more in the way of cloud here. Elsewhere plenty
01:33of late evening sunshine. And then across northern Ireland that's where the cloud will be increasing.
01:38We'll start to see some patchy outbreaks of rain and that merging into parts of southern Scotland too.
01:44To the south of that though that's where we hold on to the clear skies. And it's going to be
01:48a warm
01:49and a muggy night. So uncomfortable for sleeping. Temperatures not falling below 18 or 19 degrees
01:55in the south. A little bit fresher to the far north there at 8 or 9 degrees. So as we
02:02start Monday
02:02morning well it's actually a damp picture across much of northern Ireland into Scotland. Northern
02:07parts of England with some patchy outbreaks of rain. As we head into the afternoon there are the risk of
02:12some thunderstorms pushing up from the south. So into Devon, Cornwall, into Wales. So some flashes of
02:19rain is possible. The best of the sunshine across East Anglia and the far south east of England.
02:25Temperatures well they'll be reaching up to 32, 33, possibly 34 degrees across the far south. But like
02:32I said the humidity is rising. So that humid feel out there. Temperatures in north around 20 to 22 degrees.
02:40As we head through Monday evening the showery outbreaks of rain continue to push their way northwards.
02:46There will be a few thunderstorms possibly in the mix across the south. And then clearer skies
02:50developing in between. But again another warm and uncomfortable night for sleeping. Some tropical
02:56nights where temperatures don't fall below 20 degrees. So having a look at a closer detail in those
03:02temperatures then as we head through Tuesday, Wednesday and into Thursday. It is likely that
03:07we'll see records broken 37, possibly 38 degrees. But that heat even extending further northwards. Perhaps
03:15not as high across Northern Ireland and Scotland though. And there is a bit more in the way of some
03:20cloud as we go to into Thursday. So a bit more uncertain in the exact temperature that we'll see
03:26there. But please do stay tuned to the forecast and please do stay safe. For more details though make sure
