00:00Good afternoon. It's the last day of this exceptional heat. Temperatures still could
00:05peak at 29 or 30 degrees, but fresher air is coming into place as we head through tomorrow.
00:12So looking at the bigger picture, we've got this area of low pressure to the north-west,
00:16high pressure still situated across much of England and Wales. But across the north-west
00:21we have this cold front that's going to introduce some fresher air behind it, but also a damp
00:27picture across Northern Ireland and much of Scotland today. So through this afternoon,
00:33many places across England and Wales though holding on to blue sky. Sunshine will turn
00:38hazy at times with some high-level cloud. The odd shower may just break out across the Midlands,
00:42but an unsettled picture across Scotland, outbreaks of rain here and across Northern Ireland. It's
00:48later across Northern Ireland that we could see some thunderstorms breaking out, especially across
00:54the south and east. Temperatures here around 17 or 18 degrees, but across the south and east we still
01:01hold on to those hot conditions, 29, possibly 30 degrees. As we go through this evening then, we see
01:10a risk of some thunderstorms across the south-east of Northern Ireland, so some torrential downpours here.
01:15This system moves its way north and eastward, so showery outbreaks of rain across much of Scotland,
01:20northern England, perhaps into north-western parts of Wales and across the south-east. That's where we hold
01:26on to the dry and clearest skies. It's still going to be rather mild, if not warm out there though.
01:32Temperatures
01:33around 12 to 15 degrees as we start Sunday morning. So plenty of sunshine across East Anglia and the
01:40south-east as we start Sunday, but it will be fresher out there as we head through the day. More
01:46in the way of
01:47cloud for all of us. Longer spells of rain across the far north of Scotland into Orkney and Shetland,
01:53and it's north-eastern parts of Scotland as we head through tomorrow, where there is a risk of some
01:58thunderstorms. Elsewhere it's a day of sunny spells, scattered showers, but for all of us temperatures
02:04are closer to the average. Still warm across the south and east, and it's actually the far south-east
02:10that will still hold on to some of that heat. So temperatures around 19 to 24 in the south and
02:17east.
02:18Through Sunday evening, longer spells of rain across Orkney and Shetland, still the risk of some heavy
02:24torrential downpours across the north-east of Scotland. A few showers elsewhere, but many places
02:29actually largely dry. But as we head into the start of what will be meteorological summer, it turns
02:36downhill. We'll see the return of more low-pressure systems moving their way, so perhaps actually
02:42bringing some welcome rainfall and a relief from the heat. That is all from me for now, but I have
02:47more coming up later, so make sure to hit subscribe if you're watching this on YouTube. Bye-bye.
