00:00Good morning. It was pretty wet overnight, wasn't it? Yes, a fair amount of rain has pushed its way through,
00:05was a bit heavy in places, and there's more of that to come through this morning.
00:09There's this front that's actually not going to go anywhere for any time soon, and it's going to just like
00:15meander its way across the country with various pulses, some waves coming through over the next few days.
00:20But for today, it's really just bringing outbreaks of rain quite heavy at times, particularly across central southern England, these
00:27pushing away towards the east.
00:28Further north, a cloudy or wet start to the day, yes, but then turning a bit brighter, albeit showery, by
00:34the afternoon.
00:35Further south, once that rain clears away towards the east, it is also going to brighten up, but also a
00:41few showers developing, just one or two, particularly towards the southwest.
00:45Temperatures in the southeast aren't going to be quite as high as they were yesterday, highs around 24, 25 Celsius,
00:52that kind of thing.
00:52So still quite warm, especially in that sunshine that's developing later.
00:56Elsewhere, we're looking at high teens or low 20s.
00:59Bit of a breeze, but not especially strong.
01:02A few more showers to come through the end of the day, particularly across parts of Scotland and also southwest
01:07England, south Wales.
01:08Most of them breaking up a little bit overnight.
01:10It's definitely looking like a drier night for many of us compared to the one just gone.
01:15The exception being across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland as well, seeing some persistent rain coming in.
01:21That's due to a wave in that front that I highlighted earlier.
01:24Elsewhere, a lot of drier and clearer weather, but it is still going to be a relatively warm and muggy
01:30night.
01:30Perhaps not quite as muggy as last night, but nonetheless, temperature is not dropping a huge amount from the daytime
01:36highs in most places.
01:37This wet weather across Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland will sweep into Scotland, Northern England, clipping parts of North
01:45Wales through the day.
01:46The heaviest rain likely to be over parts of Northern England.
01:49That's where we could see some relatively high totals.
01:51And further north, it's going to be cloudy and wet, but the rain not especially heavy.
01:56Later in the afternoon, we will see something a bit drier, but still quite cloudy across Northern Ireland.
02:01And then across Southern, Southeastern parts in particular, it's actually looking like a fine day.
02:06Lots of dry and particularly in the Southeast, sunny weather to be had.
02:10And with that, temperatures rising, we're bringing in some of that hot air from the near continent.
02:15And so we're looking at highs tomorrow in the high 20s, 28, possibly 29 Celsius.
02:20Meanwhile, further north and west, well, it is markedly fresher.
02:23Temperatures much closer to average for the time of year here.
02:27Further ahead, and as we go into Friday, that's probably going to be the peak of the heat for this
02:33week.
02:33In the Southeast, we could be looking at low 30s.
02:36Elsewhere, it's still cloudier and fresher.
02:39The changeable theme continues into the weekend, particularly towards the northwest,
02:43but it may be a little bit drier than what we've seen through much of this week.
02:46Worth bearing in mind, after Saturday, which could be so slightly fresher in the Southeast,
02:51Sunday could actually be a little bit hotter.
02:53And so it could be a heat wave through Thursday, Friday, Saturday and into Sunday.
02:58But for more information about what to expect thereafter, well, check out our 10-day trend,
03:02which I'll be bringing to you later on this afternoon.
03:04Bye-bye.
