00:00There have been quite a few thundery showers around today, and there could still be a fair
00:04few more to come overnight, albeit they are going to be easing a little bit.
00:09Low pressure sitting to the northwest of the UK currently is helping drive this showery
00:14theme across the country.
00:16Actually, the further away from the low pressure you are, so towards the south, the stronger
00:20the winds, so the quicker those showers are rattling through.
00:23Further north, they're a bit more slow moving.
00:25Nonetheless, more showers to come into Thursday before a ridge of high pressure builds for
00:29Friday, quietening our weather down, but only for a short period of time.
00:33Notice another area of low pressure that's set to arrive for the weekend.
00:36More on that in a second.
00:38Back to the here and now, through Wednesday evening, lots more showers to come.
00:42They are easing a little bit compared to what we've seen through the daytime, but nonetheless,
00:46still a few rumbles of thunder can't be ruled out, and actually they're likely to band together
00:52to lead to some longer spells of rain, particularly across some western areas.
00:55So, a fair amount of rain, a fair amount of cloud, and also blustery winds as a result.
01:01While temperatures not dropping a huge amount, a relatively mild night, temperatures for many
01:05staying in double figures, just a few prone spots where we get clear skies, and in shelter
01:10from the wind, we could just about see temperatures dropping into single digits.
01:13And then, a messy day for many of us through tomorrow. Blustery, showery rain pushing through
01:19across much of the country. Yes, there will be some bright or sunny spells in between the
01:24showers, but it is going to be pretty changeable through much of the day. Now, for many places,
01:29the showers look a little bit less intense, less likely to be thundery, whilst there will
01:34be some lightning and hail. I'm not expecting the hail to be on the same scale as what we could've
01:39seen through today. But nonetheless, across some southern areas, and perhaps the far north
01:43of Scotland, actually here, there will be more showers than we've seen through today,
01:47and a greater chance of thunder with that as well. The blustery winds continue. We're talking
01:52gusts of 40 miles per hour, perhaps a bit stronger than that in some places, particularly exposed
01:56areas towards the south and west, and also in any of those heavier showers. They will make
02:01it feel a little bit fresher than these temperatures suggest. These temperatures are actually
02:06around or a little bit below average for the time of year. We may just about scrape at 20
02:12Celsius, but really, I think mid to high teens looks most likely for many of us.
02:18Plenty more showers through the latter stages of the afternoon and into the evening. They
02:22then will start to ease overnight Thursday into Friday, with that ridge that I mentioned
02:28at the start starting to settle our weather down. So turning drier for many by the time that
02:33we get to dawn on Friday morning, albeit a bit of showery rain across parts of Scotland
02:37and a couple of showers dotted around elsewhere. With clearer skies, the wind's starting to
02:42ease as that ridge builds in. Temperatures through Thursday night are probably going to
02:46be a couple of degrees lower than this coming night. Most towns and cities still holding up
02:51in double digits, but rural spots falling to mid-single figures in a few places. So a fresher start
02:56on Friday for most for sure. Then through Friday, it looks like the driest day of the week for many
03:02of us. Not totally dry by any means. Still some sherry bursts of rain coming in from the west in
03:07particular, but there will be lengthier dry, bright, sunny spells compared to what we've seen recently,
03:13albeit more showers perhaps developing later on. And then we can already start to see a wetter weather
03:18with that extra, that next system starting to move its way in by the weekend. Temperatures on Friday
03:24are going to be, if anything, a little bit down on Saturday, only by a degree or so really, but
03:30yes,
03:30a little bit below average for the time of year. Now, as we head towards the weekend, we'll turn our
03:36attention to this low pressure I mentioned earlier. It is going to make its way northeastwards across the
03:41country. Exactly where and when it comes and how much rain and how strong the winds are going to be,
03:46well, that's still a little bit uncertain, but nonetheless, it does look set to bring a fairly
03:50unsettled, unseasonable day really for many of us through Saturday before eventually pushing away
03:56during the latter stages of the weekend. We'll be keeping a close eye on that one,
04:00so make sure you're subscribed to our YouTube channel and then you'll know exactly what's going
04:04to be happening through this weekend. I'll see you again soon. Bye-bye.
