00:00Hello there, welcome to your Thursday morning weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Today there will be a fair amount of clouds across the country.
00:08And with that, a little bit of rain in places as well, with the breeze coming in from the
00:12North Sea.
00:13Shelter spots towards the west will be the most favourable for brighter skies if not
00:18some sunshine.
00:19A little rain then across Pennines, eastern counties of England, down towards the west
00:22country southern parts of Wales and even the far south of Northern Ireland.
00:26Now the wind again will be a feature of the weather, keeping things chilly through tomorrow.
00:32And the breeze will pick up across southern Scotland as well as Northern England and also
00:37Northern Ireland.
00:38A lighter wind across the far north of Scotland with high pressure sitting towards the north
00:43of the UK.
00:44So through the morning into the afternoon it could dry up towards the south west, still
00:49a feed of that cloud and damp conditions coming in across Northern England, southern Scotland,
00:53eastern Scotland and for some parts of Northern Ireland, particularly towards the south and
00:56southeast.
00:57And then more cloud thickening towards the far south later on in the day.
01:02Temperatures typically around average for this time of year, but chilly in the breeze.
01:06So through this evening and overnight, yet again cloudy conditions.
01:11But this cloud can't be relied upon and where we do see breaks there could be some patchy frost
01:16across the north west of Scotland, even one or two fog patches.
01:19A little rain then moves in and pushes in across the west country as well as Wales.
01:24So some wet weather here as we enter Friday, a bit more breeze down towards the west country.
01:29Elsewhere, the winds won't be as strong through Friday, but yes, there will be a fair amount
01:34of cloud.
01:35And through the morning, again some patchy rain across the eastern side of Scotland, northeast
01:41England, more cloud for Northern Ireland and further south and southwest, we are expecting
01:46that rain just to come and go as well.
01:48So a fair amount of cloud covering most of the country as we head through the day on Friday.
01:53Brightest breaks will be towards the far northwest.
01:55In fact, that's how we see Saturday as well.
01:58Again, some drizzle in places and we could see some rain just pushing in across the eastern
02:02side of Scotland later.
