14 June - National evening forecast presented by Honor Criswick.
Transcript
00:00Hello there. Plenty of late evening sunshine to finish off the day, but quite a split in
00:05temperatures through the overnight period. Feeling quite cool across the north, but many
00:09areas of the southwest actually quite warm. Now through the course of the night it should
00:13remain mostly dry. We'll see a mix of cloud, also some clearer spells. A thicker area of
00:18cloud just starting to push into parts of the west, this likely to produce some light
00:21showers across Northern Ireland, North West Wales, also as Central and South East England
00:26by the time we reach the morning. But to the north of this, plenty of clearer spells,
00:31and this is where it's going to turn rather chilly overnight, especially across rural areas
00:35of Scotland. Under those clearer spells we could get to around the mid to low single figures,
00:40but a very different story in the southwest, southern areas of Wales. Quite a warm night
00:44to come, temperatures here in the mid-teens. Now first thing on Monday there is going to
00:51be some cloud, once again producing some showers as they drift their way northeastwards. We
00:55might hear the odd rumble of thunder associated with these. And eventually some thicker clouds
01:00starting to push into areas of the west, mostly high cloud creating hazier spells of sunshine,
01:05but a bit more lower cloud across parts of southern Wales, southwest England. So a little
01:10bit disappointing around coastal areas here. And also a fair few showers just starting to push
01:15into western Scotland, Northern Ireland and northwest England. But once again many areas
01:20should be dry with some bright spells and perhaps a little bit more cloud into the afternoon. But
01:25feeling warm once again in light winds, temperatures pushing into low to mid-twenties.
01:30Now later on into the evening, gradually turning more and more unsettled across Scotland,
01:35showers banding together to bring some longer spells of rain, moving across Scotland overnight.
01:40Elsewhere quite a lot of cloud around. This could be quite low cloud leading to some murky conditions
01:45first thing on Tuesday and eventually starting to push in some showers too first thing. But with
01:51the added cloud that means it won't be quite as chilly. Temperatures widely across England and Wales
01:56around the mid-teens. But under the clearer spells we could just push into the high single figures
02:02across eastern areas of Scotland.
02:05So progressing into Tuesday, more cloud and we are expecting some rain and showers.
02:11This band of rain clearing its way across Scotland first thing. Plenty of cloud following on behind
02:17but still a fair few showers. And then eventually this second band of rain pushing into Wales,
02:22parts of Devon and Cornwall. This likely to turn quite heavy and a little bit blustery as it does so.
02:27The best of the weather is going to be across the far east where we'll also see the best of
02:32the
02:32temperatures as well. Widely in the low twenties but it's really across the southeast where we push into
02:37highs of around 26 degrees Celsius. Now it's a very similar pattern for the rest of the week where
02:43we'll see some cloudy skies, some rain and showers at times still feeding in some frontal systems in
02:48from the west. But notice towards the south and southeast by the end of the week we do eventually
02:53start to see a build of high pressure. So not only this but we'll start to bring in a slightly
02:59warmer
02:59plume of air. So across the southeast in particular turning very warm if not quite hot towards the end of
03:05the week but still a lot to play for before that happens. So of course for more updates don't forget
03:10to subscribe.
