00:00Hello there, good afternoon. High pressure dominates our weather picture today which
00:04means there's plenty of fine weather out there this afternoon including lots of autumnal
00:09sunshine. There are a few showers across Scotland this morning but as that high pressure continues
00:13to build that should ease away a lot of the showers becoming mostly confined to the far
00:17north of Scotland, mostly around coasts. So for many areas it will be a dry bright afternoon
00:23with plenty of sunshine and much lighter winds as well particularly if you compare it to the
00:27last couple of days that there could still be a bit of a breeze towards the far north east.
00:32Now temperatures themselves have come down a little bit compared to yesterday but in lighter
00:36winds and with more sunshine around it should feel quite nice out there this afternoon with
00:41temperatures widely in the mid to high teens if not pushing into the low 20s towards the far south
00:46and south east. Now lots of dry weather to finish off the day. Quite a lot of clear skies for
00:52much
00:52of England and Wales. That means it's going to turn quite chilly overnight in fact with some fog and
00:57possibly even some frost in places. But a different story across the north gradually clouding over
01:02here with some spells of rain starting to push into Northern Ireland western areas of Scotland by the
01:06time we reach the morning and starting to turn a little bit breezy here as well. So quite a wet
01:11start
01:11towards the northwest mostly dry elsewhere but feeling that little bit chillier to start the new week
01:17especially if you compare it to recent mornings. Rural areas under the clearer skies could drop down to
01:22around two to four degrees Celsius. Now for Monday itself a bit of a north south split in the weather
01:28towards the north a little bit wet and windy at times often quite cloudy. A lot of the rain by
01:34the
01:34afternoon should ease away but we could continue to see some persistent rain and drizzle across western
01:39hills of Scotland and also towards northwest England. To the south of this cloud and rain though
01:44it should be mostly dry. Once again plenty of clear skies, a return of the sunshine, a slight change in
01:50the
01:50feel tomorrow. It's going to start to warm up, temperatures pushing into the low to mid-20s for
01:55many of us and it's also going to feel a little bit humid as well, not quite as fresh as
02:00perhaps it
02:00will feel this afternoon. Now for the rest of the week we still do have high pressure dominating so
02:07there'll be lots of dry weather certainly across England and Wales. At times we'll see some fronts
02:11swinging towards the northwest so some rain and some showers expected here and we'll see a bit of a
02:16mixed bag of weather where high pressure will dominate but low pressure never too far away.
02:21Eventually swinging in more rain by the time we get to Thursday towards the northwest and it's
02:25starting to turn a little bit windier here as well. Also in terms of temperatures the first part of the
02:30week actually looks quite warm temperatures remaining into the mid-20s. By the end of the week though
02:35temperatures returning more towards average for this point in September and we're really going to
02:39notice that transition on Wednesday night where many areas are going to be dropping down into the low single figures
02:45with some frost in places so quite chilly start heading into Thursday. But don't forget for more updates
