00:00Hello there, good afternoon. There was a bit more of an autumnal feel in the air this morning.
00:05It will soon warm up by the time we reach the afternoon though. Plenty of sunshine on
00:09the cards and the reason for the dry, settled picture, well it's all thanks to high pressure
00:14gradually building in from the west and by the time we reach the afternoon, most of that
00:18high pressure sits nicely across the UK. So many of us this afternoon will see dry weather
00:25with plenty of sunshine, likely less in the way of cloud compared to what we saw yesterday.
00:30Saying that though, across much of Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of Northern England
00:34we'll see some patchy cloud here, perhaps the odd spot of light rain across the far north
00:39and north-west of Scotland. For most though it should be dry, quite a nice end to the weekend
00:44and not feeling quite as cool around some eastern coasts as well. The northerly breeze eventually
00:49starting to ease so most areas will be pushing into the low 20s, the high teens across the
00:53far north, but the warmest of the conditions will be across the far south and south-east
00:57where we could reach 25, possibly 26 degrees Celsius depending on how much sunshine we see.
01:04Now with the clear skies this evening that means temperatures will soon be dipping away so
01:09it's going to be another rather chilly night, some areas of the countryside dipping down to
01:14the low single figures. We may also see some mist and fog around western areas of Scotland
01:18and Northern Ireland, it may not turn quite as chilly across the very far south coast. There's a bit of
01:24an
01:24easterly breeze that will hold temperatures up here, but to the north of this, like I said,
01:29some countryside areas could dip down to the low single figures. We may even see some spots of
01:33grass frost across the very far north. So once again on Monday a fairly fresh start to the day and
01:40similar to today it should warm up quite nicely by the time we reach the afternoon. It's likely to be
01:45a brighter
01:46start across Scotland and Northern Ireland, but we'll eventually start to see some areas of cloud
01:50bubble up by the afternoon across many areas of the UK, but still remaining mostly dry. Perhaps the
01:57risk of the odd shower by the afternoon which could turn heavy, though these will be very isolated. So
02:02most areas another dry afternoon, quite a nice start to the new week and temperatures improved by a degree or
02:08two in
02:08some areas, highs reaching around 24 to 25 degrees Celsius. Now to finish off the day, we're likely to
02:16see a bit more cloud than perhaps recent nights, certainly across the south where the odd spot of rain
02:21may eventually start to drift in through the overnight period. We're still expecting some clearer spells
02:27where some mist and fog could develop and still fairly chilly across northern areas. Now through the course of
02:33the week we'll gradually start to see a change from high pressure to low pressure, generally moving in
02:39from the southwest and this could potentially bring some quite heavy downpours of rain towards the end
02:45of the week. Welcome rain for many areas, but the ground is still very dry. So that does mean we
02:51could
02:51potentially see quite a lot of surface runoff and that could lead to some localised impacts such as flooding.
02:57So we do need to keep an eye on the rainfall through the course of this week. Not only the
03:02rainfall,
03:03but also the temperatures. It does look like things are going to start to warm up as the week goes
03:08on
03:08and also humidity levels are on the increase as well. So it may be a little bit uncomfortable at times,
03:14but the good news is we are expecting some wet weather after a very dry summer. Now the forecast details
03:20are still a little bit uncertain at times, so do make sure to stay up to date on the latest
03:25forecast.
