01 June - National morning forecast presented by Marco Petagna.
Transcript
00:00Hello, good morning.
00:01I'm Marco Pitagno.
00:02Here's your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04We're starting the new working week on a fairly sunny note across the southeast of the UK,
00:08and it's here we'll generally see the best of the sunshine as we head through the day.
00:12The sunshine gradually turning more hazy from the west into this afternoon, but elsewhere
00:15it's a pretty unsettled picture, outbreaks of rain moving in from the south and west.
00:19Some of that rain turning quite heavy, particularly across these western parts of England and
00:22into Wales, and especially as we head into the afternoon, we could see one or two flooding
00:26issues in places, I think, here.
00:28And even the showery bursts of rain across Scotland could turn thundery as we head into
00:31the second part of the day.
00:33Notice, though, meanwhile, out towards the far west of the north-west Northern Ireland and
00:37the west of Scotland, starting to see some brighter skies, accompanied by showers at times
00:41as well.
00:42Temperatures are still pretty respectable in the southeast, up to 23 Celsius, that's
00:4673 in Fahrenheit, still above the seasonal average, but elsewhere a little bit cooler
00:50out towards the north and west here.
00:51Temperatures generally in the mid to upper teens, perhaps reaching 20 degrees there in Belfast
00:55where we see the sunshine later in the day.
00:58As we go into the evening then and into the overnight period, those outbreaks of rain continue
01:02to push their way eastwards across all parts of the UK, so I think we'll all see some outbreaks
01:05of rain heading through Monday night, giving way to some clearer skies out towards the west
01:09and north-west, accompanied by some showers here as we head into the early hours of Tuesday
01:13morning.
01:15Wherever you are, it's once again a mild and frost-free night across the UK.
01:18Temperatures certainly in towns and cities holding up into the low to mid teens, perhaps a little
01:22bit cooler in some rural spots.
01:24As for Tuesday itself, those outbreaks of rain gradually push their way out into the
01:28North Sea, affecting those eastern parts of England and Scotland for a time through
01:31the day, and giving way to a mixture of sunshine and showers then as we head into the afternoon.
01:36The showers could turn quite heavy and thundery, certainly across parts of England on Tuesday
01:40afternoon.
01:41Temperatures a little bit cooler, perhaps still reaching 21 Celsius in the southeast, that's
01:4570 Fahrenheit, but elsewhere generally in the mid to upper teens, which is still close
01:49to the seasonal average.
01:50That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to The Metal Office
01:53Forecast by following us on social media and subscribing to our YouTube channel.
01:58I'll see you soon, take care, bye bye.
