00:00Hello, good morning.
00:01We've got a less cold week in store weather-wise across the UK, but it does stay fairly unsettled.
00:05We'll see some wet and windy weather at times.
00:07And certainly to start the new working week, we're seeing wet and windy conditions towards
00:11the north and west of Scotland.
00:12We've got gales in places here, gusts of wind for a time this morning, up to 70, even 80
00:17miles an hour in one or two places.
00:18Elsewhere, some clearer spells and some brightness to start the day across the east and southeast
00:22of England, but showers pushing in from the south-west.
00:25So all in all, as we head into the afternoon, it's a fairly unsettled picture across the
00:28UK, showers never too far away, merging in places to give some longer spells of rain,
00:32and one or two of those as a burst of rain could be on the heavy side as well.
00:36It stays particularly blustery towards the north of Scotland into the afternoon, but
00:39elsewhere winds a little bit lighter than on Sunday, particularly towards the south and
00:42south-west of the UK.
00:44Wherever you are, pretty mild conditions across the UK are expected.
00:48Temperatures are peaking at 8 or 9 Celsius towards the north of the UK, 9 is 48 in Fahrenheit.
00:52You could see a high of 10 to 12 down towards the south and southeast, 12 there in London
00:57is 54 in Fahrenheit, several degrees above the January average.
01:01Heading into the evening and through the overnight period, it's the central slice of the UK, Northern
01:05Ireland, southern Scotland and the north of England that are set to see the most unsettled
01:09weather.
01:10Outbreaks of rain here at times on and off throughout the night.
01:13Towards the north-west of that, we see some clearer spells developing, and we start to see
01:16some colder weather moving in from the north-west here.
01:18Whereas towards the south-east, it's rather cloudy but mostly dry, and certainly towards the south
01:22and south-east, it's frost-free.
01:25Temperatures here holding up in the range 6 to 9 degrees, but with colder air tucking
01:28in towards the north-west, particularly across the north and west of Scotland, you could see
01:32a touch of frost here by Tuesday morning, temperatures into low single figures.
01:37As for Tuesday itself, well, once again, it's the central slice of the UK that will see the
01:41most unsettled weather for a time.
01:43Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northern England have seen outbreaks of rain.
01:46Some of that rain could actually turn to snow across the southern uplands, as we start
01:49to see colder air moving in from the north-west, and across the north-west highlands there.
01:52We could also see some wintry showers during the day.
01:55Further south-east, it stays fairly mild though, but quite cloudy with further bits and pieces
01:59of rain at times.
02:01Temperatures are colder towards the north-west on Tuesday, peaking at 4 to 6, even locally
02:057 Celsius.
02:06That's still close to the seasonal average for January, but still fairly mild there down
02:09towards the south and south-east, an afternoon high of 10 or 11 degrees.
02:14That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast

02:21I'll see you soon, take care for now, bye bye.
