29 June - National morning forecast presented by Honor Criswick.
Transcript
00:00Hello there, good morning. The new week brings in some fresher air. It's not going to be
00:05feeling as hot and humid, but there is still some sunshine in the forecast. For most, we
00:10are going to see some showers pushing into the north-west at times, but actually across
00:14Scotland any showers become well scattered by the afternoon, so hopefully some bright,
00:18if not sunny spells in between. A bit of cloud to start the day, but this should lift and
00:23break across much of England and Wales, so by the afternoon there will be plenty of sunny
00:27spells, and much lighter winds as well, so feeling warm in the sunshine, highs reaching
00:32around 23 to 24 degrees Celsius, but even across the north temperatures in the high teens, low
00:3720s, so feeling pleasant where we see any brighter spells. Now, you'll notice behind me there
00:43is some rain on its way, some heavy showers pushing their way north-eastwards, and then
00:48longer spells of rain. Now, this could turn quite heavy overnight with some thundery downpours,
00:53quite gusty amongst any heavier downpours as well. Even to the south of this rain, there
00:57is still going to be plenty of cloud and perhaps the odd shower or two, and it still should
01:02be a fairly warm night. Temperatures actually across the London area not dropping much below
01:0616 to 17 degrees Celsius, but it's still not going to be quite as humid as perhaps some
01:11of the nights we had last week. So, Tuesday looks a bit more unsettled than recent days,
01:17certainly across the north-west where we could still see some heavy, if not thundery downpours
01:21through the course of the day. Then we do have this band of showers eventually pushing
01:24into north-west England, western parts of Wales and south-west England. These all gradually
01:29push their way north-eastwards through the course of the day. So, north-east England,
01:33by end of Tuesday, could see some of these heavy showers. And like I say, a little bit breezy
01:37amongst any heavier downpours. The best of the brightness across parts of the south-east,
01:42that's where we'll see the highest temperatures as well. Highs reaching around 24 degrees Celsius,
01:46but even elsewhere, it's going to be in the high teens, low 20s. And it's a fairly similar
01:52picture as we head into next week. We will see some rain and showers at times as systems
01:57push in from the west, but actually high pressure remains still the dominant force. So, lots
02:01of dry, settled weather and a sign that things could start to warm up again into next week,
02:06but it doesn't look like it's going to be quite as humid. But of course, if you want to stay
02:10updated on that, don't forget you can join us here on YouTube.
