00:02The last few days, much of England and Wales has been stuck under persistent cloud and
00:06outbreaks of rain.
00:07The reason for that is some slow-moving weather fronts stuck over the UK, but things are starting
00:13to actually change.
00:14Atlantic weather fronts are starting to actually push in from the west over the next few days,
00:19so it's slow changes in the forecast during the course of Tuesday.
00:24But as I said, that process is actually quite slow, so a rather cloudy start across much
00:28of the country.
00:30Outbreaks of rain starting to actually push in from the west, and ahead of the rain,
00:35some brighter skies possible across parts of the south and east for a time before it turns
00:40cloudy.
00:42Afternoon temperatures relatively close to average, with highs of 12 or 13 across the south,
00:48and 10 and 11 across the north.
00:51But it's all eyes to the north and west.
00:54We already have another band of wind and rain moving quickly from the west during the course
00:59of this evening.
01:00Some of that rain will actually be very heavy for a time, and accompany with some strong
01:04and gusty winds, particularly up through the Irish Sea and around some north-western coasts.
01:10Overnight temperatures largely frost-free, well completely frost-free right the way across
01:14the country, with overnight lows in the north of 5 or 6 degrees.
01:19Further south, 8 or 9 degrees.
01:22So it's a rather cloudy start, especially across the south and east, first thing on Wednesday
01:27morning.
01:27But this band of rain will quickly clear off into the continent.
01:31Behind it is a day of sunny spells and blustery showers.
01:34And those showers will really pack in across Northern Ireland and Western Scotland.
01:40But it's a widely windy day right the way across the board.
01:44Temperatures, again, not too far off the average for the time of the year, a little bit down
01:48on Tuesday afternoon's values, with highs of 11 or 12 in the south, and 9 and 10 across
01:55the north.
01:56And that rather unsettled and changeable pattern continues for the rest of the week.
02:01And eventually, by the time we get to Friday, things turn a little bit colder, and maybe
02:05even some snow starting to appear in the forecast, especially across the north of the country.
