27 October - National Morning Forecast presented by Marco Petagna
Transcript
00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Marco Britannia.
00:03We're starting the new working week on a pretty unsettled note across the UK. Outbreaks of
00:07showery rain in places. Certainly as we head through the rest of the morning we hold on
00:11to quite a keen north to northwesterly wind with further showers moving down in that northerly
00:14flow affecting many parts of the UK. But as we head into the afternoon the showers start
00:18to ease from the west, becoming more confined towards the north of Scotland and running
00:22down some eastern coastal counties of England with plenty of fine weather there elsewhere.
00:26The winds start to ease down too as those showers ease, so into the afternoon feeling a little
00:30bit more pleasant out about in the sunny spells. Although later in the day further outbreaks
00:34of rain start to reach Northern Ireland, so a pretty wet end of the day across these more
00:38western parts. Temperatures still on the chilly side for the time of year, certainly up across
00:42the north and northeast of the UK, no better than 7 to 10 Celsius. Peaking down towards
00:46the south and southwest though at 14 or 15 degrees. 15 there in Plymouth is 59 in Fahrenheit.
00:52As we go into the evening and through the overnight period, those outbreaks of rain out towards
00:56the far west and northwest push their way east and south-eastwards across all areas, so turning
01:00quite unsettled once again across the UK. Heavy bursts of rain developing in places.
01:04There is some snow also across the high ground in Scotland, certainly over the mountain tops
01:08here. And a generally blustery night developing once again, with temperatures in the north low
01:12enough for a touch of frost. We could see temperatures here down into low single figures in some rural
01:16spots, but holding up certainly down towards the south and southwest at nearer 8 to 11 Celsius,
01:21so frost free across these more southern areas. As for Tuesday, well low pressure stays in
01:26charge of the weather. We hold on to showers or longer spells of rain. I think the best
01:29of any sunshine developing between those showers across central southern parts of England and
01:33Wales, whereas towards the north and northwest the shower is quite frequent, even further snow
01:38to come across the highest ground in Scotland. And wherever you are, quite a brisk west to
01:42northwest debris once again, pegging those temperatures back no higher than 8 to 11 Celsius in the north,
01:47up to 14 or 15 down towards the south, near our average here. That's into the high 50s in
01:52Fahrenheit. That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office
01:56forecast by following us on social media and by subscribing to our YouTube channel.
02:01I'll see you soon. Take care for now. Bye-bye.
