06 April - National Morning Forecast presented by Honor Criswick.
Transcript
00:00Hello, good morning.
00:02Well, I'm pleased to let you know there is some sunshine in today's bank holiday forecast.
00:06Not only that, but there's also some warmer weather on its way.
00:09For the time being, though, it's quite a cold start out there, even some patchy frost, particularly
00:13across the north.
00:15Some patchy cloud across Northern Ireland, northern parts of England, this easing away
00:19to leave plenty of clear skies, so lots of dry weather around and even some sunny spells
00:24by the time we reach the afternoon.
00:25A bit cloudier in the west, and this is going to be thick enough to produce some light rain
00:30across the very far northwest of Scotland, a bit of a breeze picking up here, too.
00:34Elsewhere, though, light winds and a slight improvement on temperatures compared to yesterday.
00:38Highs reaching around 14 to 15 degrees Celsius in the south, but largely between 10 to 12
00:44degrees across many northern areas.
00:47Now in through this evening, once again, remaining mostly dry for many areas, a mix of cloud and
00:52also some clearer skies, but we're really going to see that breeze pick up, particularly around
00:56coastal areas where it could get quite gusty for a time.
00:59So that does mean temperatures won't be dropping quite as low, but it's still going to be a fairly
01:03chilly start by the time we reach Tuesday morning, most towns and cities in the mid-single figures.
01:09Now once again on Tuesday, a dry, settled day as high pressure builds.
01:13Not only this, but as high pressure sits to the east, that brings us in a southerly flow,
01:17and we're bringing in a fairly warm plume of air by the time we reach Tuesday.
01:21So even though it'll be a chilly start by the time we get to the afternoon, there's
01:25actually going to be lots of warm sunshine around.
01:27Now a slightly different story in the west, cloudier here and eventually outbreaks of rain
01:32pushing into Northern Ireland, western parts of Scotland, still fairly breezy here at times
01:36as well.
01:37But overall, another dry, settled day and some warm sunshine.
01:41Many towns and cities reaching into the high teens, but actually a few areas could reach
01:46into the low 20s, 22, 23 degrees possible later into the afternoon.
01:52And if you're a fan of the warm weather, well I'm pleased to let you know there's actually
01:55some warm more on its way as we head into Wednesday.
01:58We still remain in that southerly flow, so still plenty of warm weather on Wednesday.
02:03Once again, highs possibly reaching 23, maybe even 24 degrees, so could possibly be the warmest
02:07day of the year so far.
02:09But then this next system later on Wednesday will bring in some heavy showers and some colder
02:14air following on behind, so it is a brief warmer spell, so we'll just have to make the most
02:18of it when it arrives.
02:20And if you want more updates on this week's weather, don't forget you can always subscribe.
