00:00Good evening and north-west, south-east split to our weather throughout this weekend.
00:04Lots of rain across north-west and Scotland in particular.
00:08It's going to be quite persistent, not too heavy in any one go,
00:10but I think it's going to persist, particularly for many western areas of Scotland.
00:14Some rainfall across parts of Northern Ireland as well as northern England overnight tonight.
00:18A lot of cloud across northern areas.
00:20Across the west as well, parts of Wales, south-west England,
00:22perhaps a bit of light rain over the high ground and coastal areas.
00:26The winds will strengthen as well to the north and west,
00:29but further south and east, it should be a settled night.
00:32Plenty of clear skies, in fact.
00:34And so, it will be a mild start to the weekend.
00:36Temperatures around 13 to 15 degrees to start the day.
00:40Plenty of sunshine across the south and east for much of the weekend
00:44and it will be a sunny start on Saturday.
00:47Further west, some hazier sunshine in parts of Wales, south-western England,
00:50but it will turn brighter in the afternoon after a bit of a murky start.
00:54Further north, though, the rain will persist for much of western Scotland.
00:58Eastern areas of Scotland, north-east England faring pretty well.
01:01Parts of eastern Northern Ireland as well faring quite well with plenty of dry weather too.
01:07But the sunshine is going to be a little bit more limited.
01:09It is going to feel quite warm in the sunshine, though,
01:12with temperatures climbing towards the high 20s in the south and east,
01:1527 or 28 degrees in the south-east on Saturday,
01:19below 20s across north-eastern areas of England as well as central and southern areas.
01:24It will be a little bit cooler than that, though.
01:27We're exposed to the westerly wind,
01:29which will still be quite strong across the north-west throughout Saturday,
01:33sort of 25 to 30 miles per hour throughout the day.
01:37Persistent rain continues across parts of western Scotland
01:40and throughout Saturday night and into Sunday.
01:42There will be some respite as the rain comes and goes.
01:45It's due to a waving weather front,
01:47so there is some uncertainty with exactly the extent of this rainfall through the weekend,
01:52but I think it's likely to persist for much of western Scotland
01:56and sometimes reach parts of northern England,
01:59the far north of Wales and northern Ireland
02:01throughout the night on Saturday night as well.
02:04Perhaps a mist and fog around to start the day on Sunday as well,
02:08so a bit of a murky start for some areas.
02:10But once again, another clear start to the day across more south-eastern areas
02:14and another mild start as well, particularly across the south and east.
02:18You can see those winds becoming a little bit stronger down the north sea coast throughout Sunday.
02:24That means they will turn a little bit lighter across western areas of Scotland,
02:28so not quite as windy on Sunday.
02:30But again, another wet day.
02:33You can see the rain turning heavy from time to time as well.
02:36You could see 50, possibly up to 100 millimetres of rain building up throughout the weekend
02:42across some western areas of Scotland.
02:44We're not expecting too many impacts from this rainfall,
02:47but it is just a lot wetter than elsewhere in the country,
02:50and it's going to be another dry day on parts of central and southern England and Wales.
02:56You can see a bit more cloud around here,
02:58so it could be a bit of a hazier day, slightly milkier sunshine,
03:02but it's going to be another warm day.
03:04Temperatures climbing to the high 20s across the southeast once again.
03:08Further west, where we get a little bit more of a fresher breeze from the coast,
03:12temperatures in the high teens.
03:14But you can't see here, so we'll also see temperatures in the low 20s across northeastern England.
03:19So mixed picture, northwest to southeast.
03:21High pressure does start to dominate a little bit more widely into next week
03:26as it builds up from the south, driving these weather fronts further north.
03:30They will still affect the far north of Scotland,
03:33but I think more in the way of drier weather,
03:35some respite from the persistent rain across the north,
03:38and very little rain across the south.
03:41But you can find more details on your forecast throughout this weekend on our YouTube channel.
03:45Have a good weekend. Bye-bye.
03:47Bye-bye.
