00:00Good evening, a chilly one to come tonight for many southern areas of the UK.
00:05Meanwhile in the north we've got the next weather front moving in to bring more in the way of cloud
00:09and rain to northern areas.
00:11Behind that then a northwesterly wind into Tuesday and then low pressure approaches from the north bringing more frequent showers
00:18by Wednesday.
00:19So staying on the cooler side and the more unsettled side through the rest of this week.
00:24But before then a slight ridge brings a more settled period through tonight so skies will clear quite widely particularly
00:31across England and Wales.
00:33Cloudier skies arriving into the far northwest but under these clear skies across many southern areas we could see some
00:39mist and fog developing but also some grass frost particularly across eastern areas of England.
00:47Here we could see temperatures down as low as minus five or minus six to start the day on Tuesday.
00:53Rurally in Wales as well we could see a grass frost.
00:57Northern areas of England also at risk of a frosty period.
01:00I think Scotland and Northern Ireland should escape the worst of it after a pretty cold night last night.
01:05And that's because this cloud and rain moves in overnight bringing with it some stronger northwesterly winds.
01:11So there'll be frequent blustery showers affecting the western isles through the morning.
01:15They will push eastwards through the day and then the rain will be relatively light through much of the day
01:20on Tuesday.
01:20But I think you could see showers across many northern and eastern areas of the country.
01:26Plenty of sunshine around particularly by the end of the day.
01:29But with northwesterly winds that will bring a fresher feel this time to more western areas.
01:34Particularly for the likes of southwestern Scotland, northwestern England.
01:38I think that's where the winds will be the freshest.
01:41Across the east a slightly warmer day to come tomorrow compared to today with temperatures coming closer to the mid
01:47-teens.
01:47A little bit closer to where they should be for this time in the year.
01:52And then through Tuesday evening this weather front pushes in from the north and west bringing more in the way
01:56of frequent showers across Scotland.
01:59Some of these quite heavy.
02:00The winds will be even stronger as we head into the early hours of Wednesday as well.
02:05Still quite settled across the far south and east though.
02:09So still potentially a bit of a chilly one here.
02:11But I think frost is going to be much more limited as we head into Wednesday morning.
02:17But having said that, still a pretty fresh start and possibly a bit of a wet one for many of
02:21us.
02:21With frequent showers piling in around this area of low pressure through Wednesday.
02:26Some of these quite heavy as they push into more eastern areas by the afternoon.
02:31You can see the strengthening winds coming in from the north and west.
02:36We'll bring a sharp cold feel to the day.
02:3810 or 11 degrees on the thermometer.
02:40But it will feel colder than that.
02:42Well below average for the time of year.
02:45A little bit disappointing for many of us, I know.
02:48Doesn't look like it's going to really warm up through the rest of this week either.
