00:00Good morning. High pressure will dominate the weather for most of this week, which isn't good news if you're after
00:07rainfall. Much of the week is going to be dry.
00:09Having said that, some patchy rain across the south coast clearing away quite sharply this morning, bringing some rain to
00:15the Channel Isles for a time.
00:16And there will be showers coming in across eastern parts of England, where there'll also be a fairly brisk and
00:21pretty chilly feeling wind.
00:23The odd shower in northern Scotland, they will tend to fade away. Much of southern Scotland, northern Ireland, west Wales,
00:29northwest England, dry and fine with plenty of sunshine.
00:32Here the winds are quite light, so feeling quite pleasant in the afternoon sunshine as temperatures get up to 11,
00:3812, maybe 13 Celsius.
00:40Similar temperatures further south and east, but add on that wind and it will feel quite a bit colder than
00:46it did through the course of the weekend, particularly when the showers come along.
00:49Could be some heavy showers, especially across Kent through the late afternoon into the early part of the evening.
00:56They'll keep coming overnight here too.
00:58And we'll see more showers through tonight, getting into parts of northern England and southern Scotland.
01:03Nothing particularly heavy here, but we could see them continuing to feed in on this brisk northeasterly breeze,
01:09which will actually overnight keep the temperatures up in the east, but further west with light winds again turning quite
01:16chilly with some pockets of frost possible across northern Ireland.
01:19With the light winds here and in parts of west and southwest Scotland, there could also be some fog patches
01:25forming too,
01:26which might be quite dense for Tuesday morning's rush hour.
01:30So a bit of a mixed picture for Tuesday.
01:32Again, most places dry, perhaps a brighter start across the southern counties of England, south west with some sunshine,
01:37but a duller day for eastern Scotland, parts of northern England, where there will be some showers.
01:42The odd shower continuing to feed into parts of Kent and perhaps into Lincolnshire and Norfolk too,
01:48but much of central England, most of Wales, northern Ireland and certainly much of western Scotland.
01:53Dry, fine and sunny, in fact a cracking day likely over the highlands of Scotland and the western Isles too.
01:59Temperatures again responding to a little bit of weak sunshine, getting up to maybe 13, 14 Celsius.
02:05But don't forget that wind, that really will bring a chill once more, especially over these eastern counties of England,
02:12particularly when the showers come along.
02:14That wind likely to become more and more of a feature of the weather through Tuesday and Wednesday,
02:19particularly picking up along the south coast through the middle part of the week.
02:23As I said at the start, with high pressure in control, we're not going to see much rain this week.
02:27Which isn't great news considering how dry it has been.
02:30And there will be some decent spells of sunshine, more especially in more western parts of the UK.
02:35If you want a full week ahead breakdown, that will be available on our YouTube channel on Monday afternoon.
