00:00We doing the installs, so if you show up, the positive, that's the way I talk is if you show
00:06up,
00:07the positive is due every day. You either getting paid or you owe somebody. That's how I talk.
00:12So my job, we're going to get paid every single day. If you're out there on the field with me,
00:15you're getting paid or you're getting your ass off. So we didn't know that, and so that's why
00:19he brought me here, because he ain't got to be in the huddle and he ain't got to be on
00:22the field.
00:22He know for a fact what it's going to look like out there, and there's going to be speed, speed,
00:26speed, and violence, and that's how I want my defense.
00:28We're not here to play tiddlywinks, buddy.
00:30Daryl.
00:31That's not like the defensive coordinator.
00:33It's nice.
00:34It wasn't.
00:35Speed and violence.
00:37That is Quincy Williams.
00:37Quincy Williams, your new veteran linebacker, brother of Quinnen Williams.
00:42That's fun. That's fun to hear. Do you like that?
00:44The beauty of football, too, is that you can say something like that. Violence.
00:47You know, just good old-fashioned violence.
00:49In this world where we have to sanitize everything we say, it's like, no, we're bringing the speed,
00:54we're bringing the violence.
00:56I enjoy it.
00:572-1-6-4-7-4-2-0-92.
00:59I don't know why I had to say I enjoy it.
01:00Everybody knows I enjoy it.
01:01I just like it when guys talk like that because it's only June, or it's only May.
01:05That'll get people pumped up for sure.
01:08Now I've got to make the reference.
01:09You remember when the Browns would be struggling and Miles would get up on the mic and go,
01:13you know, we've got 11 games left to go.
01:15And Quincy Williams is like, we're going.
01:17We're going.
01:18We're not kind of sort of installing, baby.
01:20We're installing.
01:21We've got to go.
01:23Which, all right, leads us to Todd Munkin being asked yesterday, which the audio ain't going to do it justice.
01:28You guys got to go to the fan on social media.
01:31The video's up there, right on?
01:32Yes.
01:32All right.
01:33You really got to see the Munk man's face when he's asked about talking to Miles Garrett.
01:39Just for the record, have you had any face-to-face with Garrett yet?
01:44Miles?
01:44Yeah.
01:45No.
01:46All right.
01:47Go ahead.
01:48Let's go.
01:49So I asked Ken before the show, I go, it's officially weird, right?
01:52We'll get back to Cavs coming up here soon.
01:54Tim Legler going to join us at 9.
01:56And I'm not even saying it's weird that he's, we've already talked to death about him and what he's going
02:01to attend.
02:01And we all agree he's still going to probably get 15, 17, 20, 30 sacks, whether or not he shows
02:07any of this stuff or not.
02:08That we all agreed on.
02:10These two still haven't gotten together?
02:12But you're making it out to be.
02:15Miles?
02:15Yeah.
02:16No.
02:16I remember when I brought this up a month ago and people were like, Lyman's just on the air lying.
02:21Of course they met.
02:22Because you guys realized how ridiculous it was.
02:24You're like, of course they met.
02:25Can we stop calling each other liars all the time?
02:28We do that.
02:29Not you and me.
02:30When's the last time I called you a liar?
02:31Yesterday.
02:32Well, you've said I'm lying to myself all the time.
02:34We have to go all the way back to yesterday.
02:36I think you're about to tell me I'm lying to myself here in a second.
02:38You can use that rear line feature, too, if you want.
02:40No, I'm working on my bedside manner.
02:42I find it.
02:43Shut up.
02:43Don't work on your bedside manner.
02:44When I saw yesterday's clip circulated to outkick coverage.
02:48Fox News.
02:50Fox News.
02:51Fox News.
02:52I'm like, you know, is that a fair representation of our relationship?
02:55I think not.
02:57They were on the five talking about the straight-o-whore moves.
03:00And then right after it was you and me screaming at each other.
03:02Gutfeld got in there.
03:04Had some zingers.
03:05Oh, God.
03:06All right.
03:07Anyway.
03:08Go ahead.
03:09Come on.
03:10Let's go.
03:10About a month ago, I was saying, yeah, they haven't.
03:13I've talked to people.
03:14They have not.
03:15Okay.
03:15They've met years ago when he was actually a coach here.
03:18But since he's been hired as the new head coach of the Browns, they have not been in the same
03:23room together.
03:24And people are like, Lima's just lying.
03:25Of course they've got.
03:26Which is odd.
03:27Of course the coach and the best player on the planet, the best defensive player on the
03:31planet, one of the best in the league.
03:32Of course they've met.
03:33No.
03:34They haven't.
03:35I told you guys a month ago they hadn't.
03:36And now, if you thought it was weird and thought I was lying a month ago, you can't
03:41today say no big deal.
03:43You can't be the same person.
03:45It doesn't make sense.
03:45Why didn't you think you were lying?
03:46You didn't.
03:47No, you didn't.
03:47But there were definitely people calling it out.
03:50I find it hard.
03:51When was Todd hired?
03:53Late January?
03:54End of January?
03:55He hadn't been sitting here for four months pouting.
03:58No.
03:59Why hadn't been sitting here.
03:59But he hasn't been traveling the world and going to the Olympics and all the pouting that Jim
04:04Schwartz didn't get the job.
04:06Like, that's why I just think that this is overblown.
04:10And you and many others are going to accuse me of sticking my head in the sand.
04:13Fine.
04:132-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92.
04:15But I just don't believe that a grown man is going to sit there and pout that his defensive
04:21coordinator didn't get the head coaching job.
04:22Now, you can go in and if things go off the rails here this year, you can always say you
04:27told him so.
04:28You always can do that because I'm sure there's been plenty of times where Mod said, I told him
04:31this and that and the other and it didn't work out.
04:34A lot of people do that.
04:37It is a little odd that they haven't seen each other.
04:40All right?
04:41I will grant you that.
04:42I will say that.
04:43I will go that far.
04:44And Miles was in town.
04:45But I don't think it's...
04:46Miles was here.
04:48He went to a basketball game.
04:49Yes.
04:50Well, you know, the arena is a way...
04:52He's got his responsibilities, yes.
04:53The Cavs are not moving to Brook Park.
04:56Okay?
04:56The Browns are moving to Brook Park.
04:58There's differences here.
04:59He had to go downtown.
05:00Brook Park, as everybody said when they were building the new stadium, oh, it's like 30
05:04miles down the road.
05:05Yeah, maybe he couldn't get down the road.
05:06Now, I'm making excuses and trying to be funny.
05:08That's true.
05:11Is this just not the Miles we know?
05:13Doesn't make it great and comfortable, but...
05:15No, the funny thing is it is.
05:17You're exact.
05:17That is true.
05:18That is true.
05:18He's being consistent.
05:19Guys, with Miles, I've just learned to be comfortable with a guy who just doesn't do it
05:26by the book of football.
05:29We all grew up.
05:31If you're my age, you watch the program.
05:34Well, that had another set of circumstances to it, but you end in high school.
05:39You're taught all the rah-rah stuff.
05:41Family, this, that, and the other.
05:43And at that level, it's absolutely important.
05:45It is.
05:46And I do think at the NFL level, to a degree, it's important.
05:48But for a guy who's that good, when it comes down to your business and making money and
05:53other people money, what can I say to the guy?
05:57He's not a bad guy.
05:58It's not like he's out there and you got to stay up at night wondering what he's doing.
06:02So this, this is where this conversation always goes.
06:05And it goes into a brick wall with me.
06:07It is odd that he hasn't spoken to anybody there, but Miles is a bit of an odd duck.
06:13Sorry, if he was a bust or if he was a disappointment, well, he wouldn't still be here.
06:18But if he were a bust or a disappointment, then I guess I'd have a problem with it, Tone.
06:23But I'm not having a problem with it.
06:24And if you think I'm sticking my head in the sand, I'd like to know from people why.
06:28Because it's just, to me, it's the same behavior we've always, we've always seen.
06:31It's, it's the same thing.
06:33I'm sorry.
06:33I just wonder if the defense, for whatever reason, look, the new defensive coordinator,
06:37you watch him and how into it he is.
06:40And it kind of, it kind of aligned with the clip that we played from, from Williams.
06:44I mean, he is getting after it.
06:46But like, I think people are going to, are going to love him unless the defense, for
06:51whatever reason, takes a step back, which they shouldn't on paper.
06:54They shouldn't take a step back.
06:55But you know, if they do, we're all going to be looking, especially if it's part of the
06:59reason they're losing games, if they're losing games, like people are going to wonder, how
07:03does Miles feel about this?
07:04But that's interesting.
07:05Because they didn't hire the guy that Miles wanted.
07:07Obviously, we're going to do that.
07:08But it's also, that's Quincy Williams' role.
07:10Quincy Williams has, we said this as, when he was with the Jets.
07:14Remember, we played the Jets last year, and they were talking about him, and he accepted
07:18a lot of things like a man and was a stand-up person about it.
07:21And that was something we remembered.
07:23And then you bring in Mike Rutenberg, and he's bringing in Quincy Williams.
07:25We're like, okay, let's bring in this guy, who again, takes that Anthony Walker role.
07:30Sadly, has to maybe take that JOK role.
07:32Not on the field in the terms of play.
07:35That would be more Carson Swessinger.
07:37But it would still be more that, hey, I'm going to be a leader role.
07:40I'm going to be the guy that talks every day to the media role.
07:42That's kind of what Quincy Williams is.
07:44Miles is not expected to fill that role.
07:46And I don't think that Miles has done anything that would blatantly sabotage what the Cleveland
07:51Browns are doing.
07:52That's why I have to defend Miles.
07:54It is a different way to do things.
07:55It is not the classic way of everybody get together, give a great big speech, get them
08:01all going, let's do this, let's win.
08:04It's not like that.
08:05It is not really like that with Miles Garrett.
08:07And I think he's toyed with the notion before, I don't know if he really knows how to do
08:10it.
08:11Him not being there, it's a little weird.
08:14Him not meeting Munkin, I should say, is a little weird.
08:18But it's not off-putting to me because it's probably the same way he's conducted his business
08:22over the last several years.
08:24Did they have to, when he finally does get in town, do they have to have dinner like Walter
08:28White and Gus Frank?
08:30They have to break bread quite literally?
08:32Finally, a reference I don't know.
