00:00Hello there, temperatures are on the rise this week with Friday set to be the warmest
00:04day of the year so far.
00:06It's not going to be all sunshine though, there's quite a lot of rain to come, in fact
00:10across many western areas plenty of showers through the next few days and then later on
00:14in the week weather fronts bring some rain to more north western areas, these are the
00:19rainfall totals as they build up through the week.
00:22You can see some areas of north west England, much of north western Scotland and northern
00:26Ireland seen some quite heavy bursts of rain, also some rain affecting the south east but
00:31very little to be honest after the next couple of days as high pressure starts to move in
00:36later on in the week but for now quite a large area of low pressure pushes in through this
00:41evening into Tuesday sweeping these weather fronts from the west to the east by Tuesday
00:48morning so that does mean it's going to be another pretty mild start to the day on Tuesday
00:52but a wet one. This band of rain will push into the north east lingering across north eastern
00:57areas through much of the day and behind it sunshine but also some quite heavy possibly
01:02thundery showers through Tuesday particularly across eastern areas of England, north eastern
01:07England in particular where the showers will likely linger into the latter part of the afternoon
01:13early evening. There is going to be some sunshine around, some quite brisk southwesterly winds,
01:18it's warmer direction so temperatures will be rising a little through Tuesday coming up
01:23to the high teens for many areas but if you get caught in any of those showers there's going
01:28to be some pretty blustery winds so you're going to want to stay prepared if you're heading
01:32out and about throughout Tuesday. Then as we head into Wednesday we get a slight lull in between
01:38weather systems so it will turn a little bit calmer, there'll be more sunshine around, also this
01:44weather front pushing into more southern areas and low pressure never too far away from the north and
01:50west so fairly brisk winds across more north western areas. Elsewhere a calmer day than Tuesday to come
01:57on Wednesday. Temperatures a little bit higher once again with those lighter winds, a bit more sunshine,
02:02fewer showers as well so we'll be touching 20 degrees across the southeast again in the high teens for many
02:09areas but where the winds remain quite strong it's going to still be quite a cool day across the north
02:14and west and still across the southwest actually quite breezy and with a few showers around but
02:19they're not going to be as heavy we're not expecting any thunderstorms or any hail through
02:22Wednesday. Another mild night as we head Wednesday into Thursday we've got the next weather front pushing
02:29up from the south and west but this time high pressure starts to build up from the near continent
02:34so that's going to push these weather fronts up towards more northwestern areas they won't push
02:39as far east from Thursday onwards and that's the signs of the drier warmer weather moving in across
02:46more southeastern areas but for the north it's going to be another pretty damp start to the day
02:51as this weather front pushes northeastwards it's going to linger across parts of northern Ireland
02:56western Scotland most likely meanwhile across the south and east more in the way of sunshine
03:02particularly later on in the day and with southerly winds building in we'll start to see temperatures
03:08rising towards those mid-20s 24 degrees it's quite likely through Thursday and widely as you can see
03:15temperatures into the 20s across much of central England down towards south Wales will be in the
03:2020s as well the northeast England as well so I think for most of England and Wales we're going to
03:26be
03:26noticing that warming trend but the wet weather will last across parts of northern Ireland
03:31and western Scotland until the latter parts of the week and then another change Thursday into Friday
03:38yes we've got high pressure building in but we've still got slightly unsettled weather nearby with this
03:43weather front still drifting across more western areas that will allow some showers to likely break
03:50out through Friday so a cloudier day across parts of northern Ireland western Scotland sunshine to start
03:56for the rest of the UK but also potentially some heavy showers developing across the south coast
04:03they may not look much on these graphics at the moment but there is potential for some quite heavy
04:08possibly thundery showers later in the day on Friday across the south coast of England but elsewhere
04:16it will likely be the warmest day of the year so far as temperatures are set to climb towards the
04:22high
04:2220s 28 degrees quite likely across more southeastern areas of England the mid-20s as well for parts of
04:31northern England parts of Wales as well so widely pretty warm day fairly light winds but a risk of
04:38some showers across the northwest and the south coast just through the latter part of the day so you do
04:44need to keep an eye on it it's not to say it's going to be a wet day wherever you
04:47are now the bank holiday
04:49weekend where we hold on to that shower risk through Saturday particularly across more southern and
04:53central areas but then high pressure is set to build in more dominantly Sunday into Monday so we keep
05:00hold of the warmth through the bank holiday weekend potentially some thundery downpours
05:05through Saturday and then it should get drier through the second part of the bank holiday weekend but of
05:11course we'll be keeping you up to date throughout this week as you make your plans ahead of the bank
05:16holiday if you
05:16have any thank you so much for joining me I'll see you again very soon bye bye
