00:00Hello there welcome to your weekend weather from the Met Office. Now we've
00:04been talking this week about the weather settling down and also warming up and
00:08that will be the process through the weekend. However on Saturday still
00:13showering in the north with a cool breeze but some warm and strong sunshine
00:17extending northwards as we head through the weekend as high pressure builds. We
00:21do have low pressure sitting to the north of the UK delivering showers
00:25particularly across Scotland Northern Ireland and Northern England as we head
00:29into Saturday. High pressure towards the south a lighter breeze here in fact with
00:33those light breezes we're likely a murky start to the day across more
00:37southwestern areas even with some sea fog. But further north a very different feel
00:43to things you can see here that strong northwest wind those showers which could
00:47cluster together to form a longer spell of rain as we head through the morning. A
00:51bright start across central and southern parts of England and Wales we could see
00:54the cloud building through the middle part of the day and certainly showers
00:58across northern England and southern Scotland and Northern Ireland becoming
01:01scattered through the afternoon. At the same time through the afternoon it
01:05remains showery across I'd say north of the central belt and you could see a few
01:10showers just extending towards Glasgow as well as Edinburgh. That wind will be cool
01:15and temperatures will struggle as the showers continue through the afternoon but
01:18even across Scotland they'll become a little bit more scattered and we will see
01:22some brighter skies as the cloud breaks at times with some lovely sunshine towards the
01:26south to end the day. Let's have a look at those temperatures then
01:29through Saturday afternoon well we're likely to see a 17 or 18 across central
01:35southern parts of Scotland. Now for Northern Ireland 18 but further south in
01:40that sunshine probably 20 to 23 so feeling much warmer than the beginning of this
01:45week and as high pressure continues to build through Saturday night and into
01:50Sunday we lose the breeze although it could be a breezy start along this eastern
01:54strip through Sunday morning. The warmth also will be really quite tangible on
01:58Sunday further north as those winds ease through the morning and it will be drier as
02:04well. One or two light showers could clip the east coast through the morning with
02:08that brisk breeze along eastern counties but for most it's a fine day some
02:12sunshine now like Saturday we could find the cloud building through the middle
02:16part of the day but some brighter skies coming through sunny spells. There's a chance we
02:20could see a bit more cloud across Northern Ireland through the afternoon but as you
02:24can see here most places remaining dry and fine to end the day with that wind
02:29still continuing across Shetland as well as Orkney clipping Aberdeenshire and perhaps
02:34just that east coast. Inland though feeling warmer with the sunshine let's have a
02:39look at the temperatures through the afternoon they're likely to come in around
02:4220 for Scotland 19 or 20 for Northern Ireland and then we'll see a 22 for South Wales as
02:49well as southern parts of England along this east coast probably around 18 or 19 with
02:53that breeze still coming in from a cool direction sea surface temperatures
02:57currently are on the low side. So that's the picture on Sunday so some fine weather
03:03to end the weekend and that cloud coming and going some late sunshine through
03:07evening time as well. Now as we head into the beginning of next week Monday's
03:13looking fine and warm some lovely temperatures again coming in very
03:17comfortably into the 20s high pressure then declines and so there will be an
03:22increasing chance of some rain from the west as we head through Tuesday and into
03:26Wednesday. Obviously we'll keep you posted here on all our social media
03:29channels but for now have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you again soon.
03:32you
